SEPHORA SUCKS!!! I purchased an order on 1/27/20. I noticed I had not received a shipping notification in over a week. I contacted Sephora and they said my bank is waiting on a dispute to be settled. I then contacted my bank and they advised me that there is no dispute going on and they have nothing in regards to a dispute or anything of that matter from Sephora. I called Sephora back and they said they have no notes other than a dispute is going on and the associate advised me there is nothing she can do for me at this time and hung up. I don't go to Sephora (or beauty stores in general) too often, but this location is pretty good. I came here to get a gift for the girl (which I won't get into details with...can't have other dudes copying) and had a pleasant experience. When stepping inside, the store is bright, spacious and clean, and I was greeted by a staff member right away. I didn't need any help since I had researched and read reviews online for what I was looking for. The store is organized pretty well and I found it easily. This Sephora is a little smaller than I thought it would be though, from the outside I thought it was bigger. Despite the size, they have a great selection of products from all the hot designer brands and the staff is friendly and helpful. Also the location is super convenient, as it's just a few steps from the Bart station. Over all a great spot to find beauty and luxury products. read more

I guess the news article I read about the top seven businesses that have no worries during this economic crash was right. The make-up industry is booming. Spent over $40 for two brushes today. TWO! Good thing I only make this kind of purchase every once in a long while. Aside from that, I love roaming through aisle after aisle of lipsticks, blushes, eye shadow... you name it, they've got it. Sometimes, if you don't have something specific in mind already, it can get a little overwhelming. The only thing about this store is that the aisles are set kind of close, and it's an extremely popular location - so the place is PACKED. I love this store and the shopping experience. It's vast with lots of brand names. It's easy to get lost in here and spend a lot money on products. The staff is friendly but never intrusive. They let you browse but are ready for any question. I usually come here for Boscia BB Cream, Philosophy moisturizer, and Murad redness treatment line. This Sephora is always busy and can get pretty packed but the line always moves quickly and I've never had to wait more than about 5 minutes to make my purchase and get out of there! There are lots of workers but I've never had someone come up to me to offer their help- depending on what you prefer this can be a pro or a con. They keep a pretty good stock of items and the store is always clean. I went by this store a couple nights ago to return some things that I ended up not wanting and the process was nice and easy. Perfect timing, I had just ran out of my favorite scent and happened to hit up the city for a couple hours... I escorted my Mother who wanted to get a haircut at Vidal Sassoon. Got my Tocca - Florence (think gardenias) and has to be my favorite scent of all time. I've gotten more compliments with Tocca than anything else I've ever owned. Swear to God this floral scent will make you feel like a sex goddess. Again it's not for everyone but if you are anything like me, I highly recommend Florence by Tocca. Picked up a few Sephora Brand sticks of black eyeliner (some new line for $5 a pop), Cargo tin of lip gloss in South Beach and a clear and green striped make-up bag.... $150 later.... Oh well. If it makes me happy and makes me feel good then $150 is nothing... it's like a night of drinking but you have something to show for it in the morning besides some ridiculous stories. read more

This is my favorite beauty store of all time. Why? Well, they have everything you could ever imagine! Well, except for the cheapie drugstore stuff and a few others. My boyfriend hates going in here with me because he knows I can easily spend a couple of hours in there, browsing around. Some of my favorite things to buy here, that I can't find at Pure Beauty (where I get most of my beauty stuff) include Oscar Blandi jasmine Shine oil, Frederrik Fekkai smoothing olive oil shampoo, Hanae Mori perfume, and Nars and Benefit Cosmetics. They also have a great selection of skincare, which is a big priority to me. They also have men's stuff, including a HUGE selection of cologne. read more

As a man who enjoys smelling great...sephora is a little gem for me. Most men wont dare step foot in the store unless they are with a wife, gf or mother. So I am fortunate to have the whole fragrance area to myself usually. I really enjoy the Anthony products line. They offer really great solutions for facial and skin care. I also recommend Zirh face wash. Its amazing. Once I went with Zirh face wash, I havent switched to anything else. Back to the store. I have a little pet peeve. They seem to really like to be a pest about helping you in the store. The sales associates are a little too friendly sometimes so I usually have to throw down and tell them to back up. Otherwise I have no real compaints. I really enjoy the store. Its nice to be able to go in and preview different fragrances and see which one suits me for the moment. read more

I have a BFF name Sephora residing on the intersection of Cable Car roundabout aka tourist photo heaven lane near Market and Powell. I've known you for many years now, yet only noticed you when my friend gave me an open invitation to your VIB (very important beauty insider) holiday event last year where I received 20% off of everything. You, I, and my pocket book have been best friends ever since. You know what girls (and in many cases boys!) want with your huge array of skincare and makeup products. High quality products and wonderful spots throughout the store for sampling and trial. I love randomly stopping by to touch up my makeup or refresh myself while shopping. You draw me to the cash wrap with the limited time only deals with $5 eye cream to $7 primers. Generally speaking, beautiful customer service associates gleaming smiles. Also, I love the promotional giveaways and haven't parted from my holiday clutch with $25 purchase though I've parted with the Kat Von D bag. There was 1 incident where a customer sales associate was friendly, but credited my purchase to the wrong Sephora Beauty Insider. Let me just say that this is my favorite Sephora in the Bay, their customer service is top notch and someone is always there ready to help you out! I only came in for liquid foundation and had a few questions. The girl that helped me out was knowledgable and very helpful. She was also very accomodating and patient with me. This is a review for a make over done by Theresa. Came here last weekend to get my make up done for my engagement photo shoot. Theresa asked me a few questions about what type of look I was going for and a few questions about my skin. Theresa was extremely warm and instantaneously put me at ease and I knew I was in good hands. I don't typically put on foundation but Theresa made my skin look absolutely luminescent. She also did an amazing job on my eyebrows. I don't have a ton of eyebrows to work with but she was able to make my eyebrows look full and pretty natural. A + ! The entire make over took about an hour and it was free! However, sephora requires you to buy a minimum of $50 of products but it's totally worth it considering most make up artists charge $125 - $150 for the same services. If I could, I would dip myself in a vat of turquoise glitter and prance around leaving a glitter trail whereever I went. Since that's generally frowned upon in the professional world, I stick to sparkly-within-reason makeup. For foundation, concealer, and eyeshadow, I generally stick with MAC (not sold here), but for everything else, Sephora is the big sparkly store of my dreams. I especially love that this particular store has a large collection of Tarte products (Tarte uses fewer chemicals and has seriously addictive, elaborate packaging - try their cheekstains!). The customer service is fine - Sephora generally has a pushy sales policy, but nothing that you can't fix with a "no thank you, I'm just looking right now." On the other hand, when you have a question, there's always someone around to ask. What I DON'T like about this store is their organization. Even though brands are organized in alphabetical order, the layout is confusing, and I find myself wandering through a girly labyrinth of medieval eyelash curling torture devices and bottles that claim to hold the secret potion for everlasting beauty and youth (seriously, though, is there one that promises a pain-free magical nose job? I might consider that). On the plus side, you can try on just about everything here, which is helpful when deciding if the baby-poo-green eyeshadow REALLY flatters you. On the minus side, germs! My best advice would be to sign up for their "beauty insider" email list on sephora.com - I just got a $15 off a $35 purchase coupon, which was all it took to get me in the store. For your moderately high-end, to super-mega-ultra-high-end cosmetic needs, Sephora is usually a safe bet, and there are often deals to be had at that. read more

Your customer service sucks!! I went to Sephora on Powell street looking for sunscreen. When I applied a little bit from a tester lotion on my hand, a saleswoman out of nowhere told me to use a q-tip. I understand the concern but out of many customers in the store, she had to come to tell me. I saw a white woman doing the same thing and why that salesperson was not patrolling and told her the same thing she told me. Or maybe you should q-tips and tissue papers near the shelves and tell your reps to stop patrolling and scolding non-white people for not following their own kinda rules. Walking through this Sephora seems a lot like what I would imagine being backstage a runway during fashion week is like. Very bright, hella hectic, quite packed, and full of super stylish people. Amidst the organized chaos, everyone I interacted with was nice and friendly. Nadia at the counter with the awe-inspiring eye-liner was especially helpful and amicable and even had some solid recommendations while processing my return. Thank fully i got very lucky and walked in on very busy Saturday morning, and had one of the girls help me find someone to do my makeup. I love makeup and sephora is the place to go. The cashiers are very kind and friendly. Though I ran into this one employee who told me to "do you wanna pay for that or do you want me to ring you up" in a really disrespectful tone as if i was a thief. I was just checking out some concealers but the shelf was like 7-8 feet away from the door so I was kinda confused on why she would say that. I mean i dont feel like i looked like i was gonna run away out the store. However, others were pretty friendly except for that one girl near the exit. I recently won a set of Stila lip glazes recently through and on another social media website. I used to get a lot of Stila and other make-up brands at Sephora when they used to be at their original San Francisco location now occupied by the Apple Store. I was in the market for some foundation as I am pretty well stocked on the other elements of make-up. It has been awhile since I used make-up in my daily routine. As far as I was concerned, I did not think it was necessary to be all made up going to university and class lectures. Different strokes for different folks. Sometimes it is too time consuming "to slap on the cack, cack on the slap." (British theatrical slang expression passed on to me by one of my celebrity acquaintances.) I was greeted at the door as I walked in, "Welcome to Sephora." I asked the sweet greeter where I could find the Stila section. He pointed me in the right direction. I perused a bit in the Stila section. I then perused the Laura Mercier section when I caught sight of a travel size of their famous tinted moisturizer. I was so overwhelmed by the ratio and amount of people and sales associates. Too crowded. I could not take it anymore, so I asked for samples of Laura Mercier and Stila. I had to wait for an available color specialist to assist me in finding the right shade for me to sample. When all was said and done, I got the heck out of Sephora and headed next door to MAC to find the foundation I am looking for. Sephora is a great cosmetics emporium for sure! I wish I had my own personal Sephora stockroom at home and at my fingertips. The sales associates, make-up artists and colour specialists I have encountered are patient, personable, and professional. I am not too keen on the space, it is much smaller than its original Post Street location when it was two levels. I still have love for Sephora, do not get me wrong. I just cannot stand the crowds and the long lines at the till to pay for one's purchases. I love Sephora when it is virtually empty and not crowded. Oh well, c'est la vie. It is all about the timing. I love Sephora for having all the items I read about online in the store without fail. It's a great one stop shop for makeup, skin, and hair needs. HOWEVER, I have yet to meet a person that works here who knows what they are doing when it comes to make-up. I've tried to get recommendations for blush, concealer, etc. and I never end up getting anything they recommend. Now maybe it's because I'm redhead and finding colors that work on me is a bit more difficult than a blonde or brunette. Most people don't know what looks good on a redhead, but I think any decent makeup artist could figure out that green eye shadow was not what I wanted when I said I like a natural look. Nor was suggesting a cool, purplish brown when I asked for a lip gloss to help brighten my look going to make me think I was in capable hands (both true stories). So I'll just continue to get my makeup recommendations from the ladies at the MAC counter in Nordstrom across the street and pick up my random moisturizers, false lashes, and spray shampoos from Sephora. read more

Today I visited Sephora on Powell Street to return an eyeshadow compact. I had purchased one that was too iridescent. I was interested in trying to find the right shade to replace a favorite color I had run out of and needed help. I was connected with a salesman named Michael. He listened carefully to what I was tying to find and I knew I was in good hands when he asked me to look at him for a moment - I could see he was studying my skin tones and eye color. He then took me all around the store instantly grabbing numerous options - any of which might have worked but he was keen on helping me make the best choice. We compared at least six different pallets and he helped me narrow it down by adding one 'single' color to the mixed pallet I liked the best. He then asked if I wanted to try the color on. I said 'sure' and he went to work. Working with a array of brushes Michael did a fantastic job on my eyes while making pleasant small talk. He then added foundation which he matched perfectly to my skin, which I added to my purchase. His last touch was to add a lip gloss color that looked fabulous. He then took me to the register and offered his card and told me about number of free make over and facial services all outlined in a booklet. I had been to TWO different Sephora's only a week prior in search of the right color - while meaning well the prior associate's recommendation hadn't worked out and we never tried the color on. I really really appreciated the time Michael took with me today. he has excellent make up artistry and a great eye for color. I highly recommend working with him! read more

It is well known amongst my family that I love skin and hair care products. Sephora is one of my staple stores. This location is always packed and is a tourist mecca, but they carry several lines that are different from the other locations. So, I can't just avoid going there altogether. I love the little travel/trial size selections that they carry of a variety of products. Tonight, I picked up 3 tubes of L'Occitane hand creme, which was CHEAPER than what I found at L'Occitane!!! DOH! I ended up leaving the store with a full bag of stuff and when I returned home I noticed the clerk had snuck in a handful of Philosophy and Stila samples for me to try! How sweet!!! This location also offers SkinPhysical check ups at this store...try it out, it is FREE. read more

This place is a make-up jungle! I have an obsession with lip balms. I have about... uhm... 25 in my drawer here. Don't know how many are spread throughout my multiple bags. Did it just get warmer in here? Can you see my flame across town? So they have tons of chappies here, and every once in a while I brave the overwhelmingly bright lights and the endless aisles of god-knows-what to try and find some new and over-priced lipchaps. Also they have a good selection of men's products. Not that I buy them, but they do. I, instead, prefer the distinctly feminine products of my afore-reviewed Fresh. Even their men's products are pretty. It creeps me out that they have to wear those black smock uniform things here. Like a make-up militia. Clearly alliteration fascinates me. Usually the staff can help you find something that will work quite well and cost you enough to feel guilty about it. They've got all the brands I covet: Benefit, Cargo, Nars, Bareminerals, Too Faced. The Sephora brand makeup itself is alright, only so so. And Don't invest money on their holiday gift set full of 60+ shades of lip gloss and eyeshadow. It doesn't go on very well and the color is much lighter than it at first appears. I personally am all about the shades shades shades!! So many wondrous colors to choose from, forget Dorothy's mediocre yellow brick road and take the highway to the rainbow! Alright perhaps that was a bit cheesy..but what's a gurl to do when she's in a magical wonderland of sparklys and glosses? Catch a good salesgirl for assistance of course! They're definitely a rare breed and hard to come by. You may need to gently lure one out of hiding by standing very still, staring at one product for long lengths of time, and making slight eye contact every time she passes by. Eventually, if you're patient, she'll appear next to you and offer her services. SCORE! Now you chain her up and make her your makeover slave. Ask her everything, play dumb, and make her do all the work on your face. If someone tries to sneak in and steal your prize, smack her! This ain't no game missy, this is war! Aight I'm done. This review is for the once temporary now permanent location in the Westfield Mall. I stopped by over the weekend to get a few necessaties. The location is pretty small compared to the Powell location therefore it's more crowded. It is fully stocked and it's good for grabbing and going. If you want to take your time and get individual help, it's a pretty hectic environment. Some people are more knowledgeable than others and they have so many products it can get a bit overwhelming. Advice? If I needed to go to a Sephora in the city, I would visit the Powell location during weekdays to avoid the long lines and high energy environment. read more

This sephora probably has the best customer service out of all sephoras! There was a sweet lady that helped us although my friend and I didn't catch her name sadly enough. She was very helpful and we wanted to try the glam glow mask before investing 65$ on a small jar. She gave us a decent sized sample with instructions and a sample size face wash as well and we didn't even buy anything. She didn't skimp on the sample either! Out here in SoCal, sephora sales people aren't that friendly and welcoming at all, so kudos to management here! read more

Minus one star for the sales rep who, when I asked about Sephora brand toner, lectured me about what toner does while looking for the product I was seeking, and reading the label while telling me about it! UGGHHHH! Frustrating. He was also telling me about the wrong toner! So I had to nod and smile while listening to some dude BS like he was taking an oral exam on toners. Well I would have given him an F! TONER FAIL! I just asked where they were located. Not a history of toners. (BTW the Sephora brand toner for sensitive skin -the pink one- is alcohol free, has vitamins and fruit extract, like lychee!!! try it, it smells like fruity roses!) All four stars are for the dude who rung me up bc he answered the phone while ringing me up and then felt bad so he gave me all 3 full sized samples, without taking any of my insider points off!!
