Brand new, all fresh, all pretty, full stocked and in a still pretty new area in Santa Clara/San Jose, the Santa Clara Square (that consists in several companies, an impossible to forget wonderful Whole Foods and a few other restaurants). I wish Sephora luck in this location, as the other famous beauty chain around does not seem to be ever filled with customers...not even pre-pandemic. I wonder what will the future bring to this Sephora location, as also is competing with the array of natural beauty products from Whole Foods that are really awesome. If you go to this Sephora during these early days you will get a bag if you spend $100 in goodies. I like that the sellers are not pushy and when you say you just want to browse leave you alone. Very nice addendum to the Santa Clara square and the beautiful shopping area that it is becoming.

They sell men's cologne! Game changer!

The interior is atmospherically lit--not too bright, but bright enough that all the labels are still easy to read. Though inevitable for a fragrance store, the air is strongly scented, especially because its doors are usually closed. It can make smelling some of the more subtle fragrances and items a little difficult. The service was wonderful--I was promptly greeted, and my questions were all answered quickly and succinctly. I had a nice time browsing, and there are testers for nearly all their products available for perusal. I will say that they can be a little too eager to induce you to buy more items (I think I was asked about four times if I wanted to add anything to my purchase). You're able to watch the creation of your fragrance in a little booth to the side (it is mixed upon your ordering, which I like), and the label can be customized, making it a fun choice for a gift. Because it is constituted upon ordering, though, I was advised that the scent would need a couple weeks to mature for use. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here, and I highly recommend it to fragrance fans. Their products err on the expensive side, but I found most of their scents very attractive and think there is something here to appeal to everyone.

Upon arriving no one welcomed us; which initially wouldn't be a problem but as we continued walking in they did great other customers. Customers of a different race. My boyfriend and I are African American, so it's not hard to pick up when people are choosing not help purely because of what we look like. We even walked past a worker with a terrible bob and clearly botched filer job. Not a peep. I was looking for a vanilla scent that day so we went to the fragrance area. As I was looking around no one asked if we needed help, which once again I said would be okay if the primary reason didn't seem to be because we were black. They asked other people if they need help and completely ignored us. I had to ask a worker who was about 50-60 years old with a blonde bun (which I recommend she loosen because baby it's snatching your edges) . She was not friendly at all and seemed to not understand what I was asking of her. There was another lady with glasses and red/brownish who was also no help. At this point customer service needs to be worked on and maybe teach about discriminatory practices, unless they lack range. Either way it doesn't take rocket science to work at Sephora as shown with your choice of employees; I found the scent I was looking for and ordered it through the actually company online. Next time I'll just go to Ulta Beauty. So yea-1000/1 I would avoid this location at all cost. Sucks when workers make the environment unwelcoming, especially when not one in there gets paid enough to be that rude.

Beyond refills, they have a wide variety of eco-friendly goods like bamboo toilet paper, reusable utensils and shopping bags, beautifully crafted soap bars, candles, natural perfumes, and even locally made jewelry.
