I think the last time I had a burger from this place was when I was a kid and my husband wanted to go for the huge fries so we came for dinner. Burgers: very good, no complaints really. They are HUGE. I can't imagine ordering a double. I couldn't even finish my single. Garlic fries/regular fries: I don't want to rag on their fries because I know they are fresh and hand cut but the texture wasn't my favorite. They almost seemed a little soft with not much crisp at all. They were good though, and for the price a small is big enough for 3 people. I couldn't even finish half of mine. I think what tipped this over into the 4 star realm was the excellent customer service and the high value. We paid $25 for a drink, a large fries, a small garlic fries, a huge 3 patty burger and my single burger. The place is also pretty old school which I love, never change your decor Sequoia. This place has a great burger and great fries! The fries are fresh-cut not frozen. One thing about the fries...get the small order...seriously, it will feed 2 or 3 people. I always wind up throwing most of the fries away because I can't eat that much...and I'm kind of a hog sometimes. Won't take 'em home because I'm not into cold fries and they don't warm up all that great. I would give this place 5 stars but can't because there is no indoor seating to speak of on a cold or rainy day and if you eat outside keep one hand free to shoo away the flies. Ok, here's the skinny.. The burgers used to be much larger, however they used to be so big that it was deliciously painful to eat the whole thing. The burgers are now "just right." If you order a small french fry you'll have enough to share with a few friends, I've never ordered the large but I imagine it is HUGE.. The chocolate malt is really good, and the onion rings are delicious.. Definitely worth a shot if you are in Sebastopol, especially since fosters freeze has closed. read more

First time going to Sequoia Burger. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger, low carb (lettuce wrap) burger and large fries. ordered at 7:02pm on a Friday night, number was called at 7:38pm. When we got home our order was wrong. no bacon and burger was way over cooked. Lettuce wrap was well done as well and only included 1 slice of tomato, no mayo or mustard, pickle or onion. ive always heard good reviews on sequoia burger. I'd say they're more like average at best. garlic fries were good. burger wasn't very big at all, well done was far from it I ordered a large soda but the self serve machine was completely empty. asked them to change it out at the beginning of our meal so I wasn't drinking weird soda water as .every single flavor was empty. they never did. asked again when we got done eating. waited longer. girl got a bad attitude quick and said 'someone' will change it when they can get to it..It's not like they were busy we were the only people there. Best burger I've had in years! Had Mike's at the Crossroads last week (which was very good) but this was even better! Had the BBQ cheeseburger and shared a small order of garlic fries. We were so full we couldn't even finish the fries. Left full but not feeling like we ate a greasy burgers just pleasantly full and satisfied that our meal was so good for the cost. Will be back!!! I got the single Redwood burger and small fries, but wished I had gotten the double Redwood. Good flavor, fresh ingredients, delicious toasted bun. The food does seem pricey for what it is, but it's okay. I've had the fish & chips--which was a little soggy, but it was takeout. I also had the fish sandwich when I ate there again. There's a nice bit of outdoor seating--good for sunny days. The garlic fries are good and intense. They give you a nice sized portion of fries, which is nice. Here's the annoying, liberal part of my review--I would have given 3 stars, but they use Styrofoam to package take out. At the not absolutely cheap prices, it would have been great if they had had an organic or "humane-source" beef option. There was also pampas grass growing on their property--which is an invasive species that is quickly invading the Sebastopol area. I know that invasive plants are totally irrelevant to include in a restaurant review, but they ruined the ambiance for me. read more

I have yet to have a better burger AND fries than this small local joint. I went to Super Burger on 4th Street last weekend, and Sequoia Burger is by far better all around. Every time I come here it's consistent. Fries are delicious and freshly made, not the frozen junk you get at other places, and heartier than In-N-Out fries, plus very generous portion. Burgers are flame broiled and always cooked perfectly. Condiments are fresh and everything I've had has been perfect, including chicken sandwiches. Not sure how fresh their patties are, but I can honestly say they taste better than most places that claim to use freshly ground chuck. You can't ever go wrong with his place. read more

I ordered some and the owner said he would make me a smaller order since I was by myself. Good thing he did, as the half order was all most too much, even for a glutton like me.
