What a tragic end to a beautiful start. This restaurant is so romantic looking especially in their courtyard and the servers are all very nice. But that's as far as it goes. We ordered 1 appetizer (the octopus) and the seafood spaghetti and duck confit gnocchi. The octopus dish was nice and my favorite out of the three. But the baseline is very low. It had a nice char and not chewy. Seafood spaghetti was mediocre at best and I can make it better home. It was a bit sloppy. As for the gnocchi, I took one bite and said nope. It was a combination of dry and flavorless. Also gets a bit crumbly when you bite in the middle because it was undercooked? The squash was also not cooked enough either. Overall, that dish is barely a 1/5. On top of the mediocre food, the food took very very long to come out. Our one appetizer and two pasta dinner took 3 hours total. While the servers were very nice, that is too long of a wait. I'm too old to be at a restaurant for 3 hours on a Tuesday.

Romantic date night spot. Restaurant is very intimate. Service is polite and attentive. My man surprised me with reservations for a calm and delicious meal. We both enjoyed the wine thoroughly and my boyfriend had two glasses as he was impressed. The spaghetti I ordered was delicious and I finished my plate! My boyfriend was a little disappointed as his plate the side was a bit small and felt and looked more like a dollop which was the only critique he found. I felt his dish was tasty but a little dry. We enjoyed our time here but table seating can be a bit close as one table next to us was a bit nosey and looked over at us a bit too often for my boyfriend's liking and too interested in what we were doing so didn't feel very private to have open discussion to be honest. However I'm in my own world and vibe so it didn't dampen my experience. Restaurant is cute and a lovely dinner date night spot. I enjoyed my pasta, wine, and time at Serafina.

This place is absolutely adorable!! It's so cute, charming, and cozy inside. Our server was very nice and helpful. The food was amazing!!! We shared a bunch of plates between 6 girls and it was perfect. The drinks were also so good! We were just visiting for the weekend, but I'd definitely come back if ever in the area again!

Tried this place for Seattle restaurant week and overall this spot seems really nice, def good date spot as everyone around us was on a date, and we passed by the outside area and it looks really cute --- but to me the food is missable and I probably won't come here again. The grilled octopus was alright, good char and all that but didn't really like the stuff underneath it and wanted like a squeeze of lemon on top. The spaghetti pasta was alright but idk the pasta texture is obviously better than store bought one but the sauce and all that was just meh, scallops were small and shrimp just ok. The gnocchi dish was by far the worst dish and I just took it home and gave it to my friend who did like it. I just thought it didn't have much flavor and the gnocchi was a bit dry and hard. Service was nice and friendly but overall yeah just alright experience, maybe I'd try it again for the outside vibes though

Stopped by here on Sunday after a drive that lasted far too long. My boyfriend and I were starved and were not expecting the greatest interaction of the day was to be with our bartender Amanda. I was craving a hard kombucha but unfortunately they were not available on tap, or at all. Luckily, Amanda was there. She recommended a Shrub, which was a million times better than what I was looking for. Making the shrub was clearly not easy, we watched her throw together an orchestra of ingredients in multiple cups and containers. She was doing her thing. The shrub was delicious and she translated all the italian on the menu for us and recommended a special that knocked our socks off lol. Lastly, we ordered a couple pastas to go (the special by her rec) she made me another drink, and we left happy and ready to enjoy our food. Food was delicious even after dragging it around for a few more minutes. I hope yall give her a raise because she made the experience, all while handling multiple other drink orders. Thank you !!!

FOOD: food was yummy, I tried the seafood spaghetti and the tomato sauce was amazing and very fresh. the bolognese was also very good however the duck pasta was not my favorite SERVICE: the food took a while to come out and it was not very busy at all

Delightful dinner experience (even though the parking was terrible due to the street being torn up for blocks). Busy night and we were lucky to grab a table due to a last minute cancelation. Ordered arancini to start and it arrived with four small balls, perfect to share. I enjoyed the lasagna and my wife had the mushroom crema Risotto. Both dishes were full of flavor and enough to take some leftovers home. Service was spot on and I highly recommend making reservations to enjoy this Italian delight! Just remember parking is a pain during this road construction.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, specifically Eastlake! Their pasta always hits the spot, along with their bread, the flakey sea salt is to die for! The place is very cute and cozy and is great for small parties to large parties. I will always recommend Serafina, I've had almost everything on their menu! 10/10

Didn't really enjoy the appetizer or my entree, lasagna. But I enjoyed my friends entrees more, especially the carbonara. The dessert was good. I enjoyed the ambiance, low lighting (not good for pictures though haha). Overall though, pretty overpriced and we waited more than an hour for our food, not sure I would come back.

We made a reservation for Monday night dinner at 6PM and the place was already half packed. I don't think there is a parking garage but there are limited street parking. This place had the perfectly dimmed lighting; great place for date night! When we got seated, we were offered complimentary coat check. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We started with a half bottle of wine and bruschetta to share. Bread was sooo good and it came with 3 different spread (olive tapenade, smoked fish and fromage blanc) that paired so well. For food, we got gnocchi & spaghetti. Gnocchi was very flavorful with beef ragu and ricotta. Spaghetti came with seafood and chorizo and it was also very good. We weren't too hungry so we both got the smaller portion and we still had leftover to take home.

This was our second time dining at Serafina and unfortunately it left us disappointed. We had a reservation for 7pm and were seated after about 5 minutes. The restaurant was packed. We were sat at a very small table right next to the bathroom. I love the ambiance, but the lighting is so dim that I have to admit it is hard to see the menu or what you are eating. The service was pretty fast, but our waitress was quite short with us. She checked in often but definitely didn't go above and beyond. She was borderline rude, but my partner and I have both worked in the service industry and are very forgiving. The food was just ok. We got the burrata, octopus, spaghetti, and cavatelli. The burrata was a bit odd, I wasn't the biggest fan of the flavors. Particularly the pear. But the crackers were excellent! The octopus was good! Nothing special. Pasta was quite mediocre. Not very flavorful and my partner had a bad mussel in his spaghetti. The veggie cavatelli was 32$ which seems outrageous to me. I decided to eat half for dinner and save the other half for lunch the next day. I asked our waitress for a box. She completely forgot and threw my food away! This was seriously a bummer. Hopefully this was just an off day and next time will be a better experience for us.

What a lovely upscale Italian dining experience! While visiting Seattle, my partner and I went on a double date with my friend and her boyfriend. We had a reservation and got seated after finding street parking. Not too busy since it was a weekday... and raining. The restaurant is dimly lit and moody with friendly and professional customer service. We ordered SO much food. Hard to keep track of everything we got, but we started with Octopus, Burrata, and Tuna Tartare. Delicious! Especially the octopus. Everyone's entrees looked and tasted incredible. I got a Risotto dish, while others got Lasagna, Spaghetti, and Cavatappi dishes. Some of them were specials while others were rotating menu items. Tons of desserts followed, namely Apple Cake, Chocolate Cake, and some sort of birthday custard in a cup. We took some of the food home, and it was still fantastic as leftovers. One of the most memorable culinary adventures I've had in Seattle. Next time I want to explore more of their alcoholic beverages and even try Cicchetti, their sister restaurant!

I've been eyeing this place for over a year and when I finally tried it out a few weeks ago I was mildly disappointed. :( The disappointment comes from a vegetarian standpoint. There aren't that many options and I wasn't a huge fan of the vegetarian dish we ordered. We ordered the Pane, Bruschetta, and a vegetarian Risotto. The Pane and Bruschetta were very good, especially the green olive tapenade. The risotto was nice for the first couple bites, but wasn't a huge fan afterwards. I will say the service and especially the ambiance was really nice. I think for someone who eats meat this place will prove to be much better than for someone who is vegetarian.

I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest. Finally the pretzel bites were okay, but nothing I couldn't get at another gastropub for a much lower price. The drinks were fine, but not that strong. I ordered the Glacier Peak which was beautiful and refreshing. We'll be back for the views and maybe a couple of cocktails, but I'd say if you're bar hopping, spend money on food somewhere else in the area.

The staff seemed distracted, but they at least did not appear to be cranky or hostile. The karaoke selection was lacking, and as a queer man I was uncomfortable seeing that all David Bowie songs were pointedly crossed out in the books. Reviews had suggested that the Monkey Pub, despite being located in the U District, had a clientele of more than just college students; this may be true on non-karaoke nights, but when I went, it had the same college-kid crowd as anywhere else in the neighborhood. Drink selection was average. Indeed, the bar itself was largely average. I found no evidence of anything particularly dramatically terrible on my visit to the Monkey Pub, but nothing to get excited about either. Only worth it for karaoke if you're desperate. Probably an okay place to get a drink, but I didn't really detect much of the character and "local flavor" that usually makes a good dive bar worth the trip.

My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.

L&L is an even better source of beer IMO. Somewhat infamously, this space was also a funky dive bar and a, uh, gentleman's club in decades gone by. No trace of either of them remain. The folks who run this place are friendly and fun, and there aren't too many places making beer this good. They even have a great knack for designing cool labels (all done in house!). Highly recommended.

I wanted to order Bun cha ca la vong but they ran out, so I got bun cha Ha Noi instead. I liked how the meat was grilled on charcoal cuz I could see the slightly dark crust on the outside, that's what made it authentic! I didn't really like the pork ball that inside the nuoc cham tho! It had some strange taste to it that I was not familiar with, and I wish the texture was a bit more firm! Overall, it was a good dinner and the service was fast! My drink was good too and the interiors was nice! I saw there is a "Quay Banh Cuon", I got hyped for a second thinking it was a real banh cuon bar but it was just for decoration lol! We will definitely come back!

I love Ba Bar. It's my go-to restaurant for lunch when I'm shopping at University Village or doing…read moreerrands or meeting up with a friend or colleague in the U-District. It's a big, roomy place so I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. But I usually try to avoid the lunch rush and either go right when they open at 11am or later at 1:30pm. I like how airy it is inside, with lots of tables, and they have both indoor and outdoor dining. The food is delicious. My favorite is the vermicelli noodles dish with WA coast rockfish (Bun Cha Ca La Vong) that comes with a crispy imperial roll, fresh dill, mint, basil, lettuce, cucumbers, bean sprouts, and pickled vegetables. But you can't go wrong with most of their dishes. My hubs had the Chicken Breast Supreme last time and it was tasty. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. Just writing about it makes me want to go back!

Service was exceptional. Nice touch with a little bubbly to welcome you in. Eclectic menu to choose…read morefrom and some nice options both in food and drinks. Nice that they have regular test, low test and no test drinks depending on how much alcohol you want. Food was very tasty, we had the lobster pasta and the fajitas. The tortillas were very flimsy so messy but still nice flavor and good amount of food.. started with the hummus which is what I was told to try there and yes a creative hummus plate... which brings me to the only hiccup... The chef gets creative at times and apparently edamame is in season so randomly added to the hummus even though not on the menu. Found out half way through then had to verify what beans they were and couldn't eat rest of dish. Server was awesome about it and wasn't a problem but if you have any allergies be aware the menu MAY not be exact so make sure you ask if there are any "enhancements" if you have any known issues. Overall highly recommend.

Very popular spot; but it was my first and last time for dinner here…read more Food was fine, ratings from 3 to 4 stars at my table for hummus, crispy nigiri, chicken parmesan, and a burger. But a couple other things just spoiled it.... Service was slow, the server mostly absent, and the starters and the main dishes were served all at once. I wonder what the server was thinking a "starter" was supposed to be.... This was during an evening in February and the place was way overheated , I estimated something close to 80F where we were sitting. Cocktails were fine and I will come back to just sit at bar for that, but the dinner experience was just not for me at Joey's.
