Stopped in here before our cruise, and I'm glad we did, because the coffee on the cruise was freakin horrible. Stopped back in Serda's the second we got off the boat. The iced coffee with ice cubs made of frozen coffee is simply genius. read more

The food was very tasty but honestly a little on the small side for the price. Our Cafe Americanos were very weak but after a nice conversation with the ladies behind the counter they promptly revved them up for us. Despite these small hick-ups our overall experience was a positive one. read more

Yelp has this as being closed on Sundays but they open at 8 am on Sundays... FYI. Coffee is as good as Starbucks, very similar feel. However, they also have great sandwiches, a full bar with a great beer selection, and homemade gelato! Open until 11 pm on Saturday night... I was quite impressed. We stayed at the Hampton Inn across the street and visited here each morning for coffee, and each evening for a drink or gelato. read more

Tried their hot mocha, hot chocolate, and iced hazelnut mocha. All of them tasted amazingly great. Their products were full of the roasted flavor, rich, and interesting to drink, while remain balanced in their sweetness, bitterness, and acidity. The interior also felt comfortable, and relaxing. The noise level is just right for a relaxing afternoon coffee. I would recommend this shop to all my coffee lover friends, and I won't go to other mainstream coffee shops if I have them in my area. read more

The atmosphere is hard to beat. I love the smell of the fresh roasting coffee beans and the noise of the city outside as well as the conversation inside. I come here to read and study all the time. If you like coffee, try their Guatemalan or Honduran French Press! Excellent fresh roast. And don't forget to sign up for their rewards program. I really enjoyed the Monte Cubano panini sandwich and iced coffee. This is the only coffee shop I have visited that offers a choice of regular ice cubes OR coffee ice cubes (the latter to prevent your iced coffee becoming watered down as the cubes melt). This coffee shop also offers gelato, wine and craft beer, and even cigars. Great ambiance. Sophisticated yet not snooty. I really can't think of anything wrong with this establishment. The sandwiches are pricey, but folks, this is downtown Mobile. Prime real estate; you have to pay rent somehow. read more

Every time my wife and I pass through Mobile we have to stop at Serda's. Coffee is really good and fairly priced compared to Starbucks. If you liked iced coffee like me you have the option of having coffee cubes instead of ice cubes which add a stronger coffee flavor and after they melt you have even more coffee. read more

I used to love this place. I had not been in several months so when I saw there was actually an available parking spot out front, I decided to make this my lunch spot today. Not a good idea. The two worst things though were: (1) the gnats ("zuzu" flies) that were all over - no doubt from the fruit and cut up banana stems/peels/leftovers just left sitting out on the counters after they fixed smoothies instead of putting them in the trash and cleaning the work station; and (2) the worst - the mold on the drink dispensers. Take a tissue and stick it under the faucet where your drink comes out - soda and tea dispensers - and you will have black mold all over your napkin - well, except for the sweet tea and root beer that I cleaned off today. Love their coffee and snacks (especially their gelato). Their events are pretty great as long as you're ok with the hipster scene. Enjoyed the open mic nights, but the hipster feel gets a little thick some nights. The workers are cool, but some of the people who just hang out there (not for really anything) were a little creepy. Terrible service, I stood under the "Pick Up/To Go order" sign for five minutes before going to "right" place to pick up my to go order. My panini while loving advertised as: "Swiss cheese, champagne garlic mustard, tomato, purple onion, on ciabatta." was in fact deli sliced colds cut on french bread and not pressed. I ordered a 1/2 grilled cheese pannini and got 1 piece of plain white toasted bread with a piece of melted american cheese and I think I saw a small piece of bacon chip or two in that cheese. I've been coming to Serda's for years now and it's always great, but I was especially happy with the customer service this trip. I brought my 8-yr. old niece in this Saturday during our day spent exploring downtown. She has a severe allergy to peanuts and oftentimes can't eat/drink the food at restaurants for fear of cross-contamination. She wanted a cup of gelato (so many awesome flavor choices always) but after the lady working checked the ingredients, we opted not to get any due to the allergy. Instead, the lady offered to check the ingredients for their frozen mocha blended beverages (and did so thoroughly) & to sanitize the machine they use so that my niece could enjoy something! Anyone with an allergy knows how hard it is to eat out, and that many places are not particularly accommodating to food allergies. The customer service this trip was much appreciated! I was really disappointed in this place. I love trying out local coffee shops. It was a short walk from our hotel and guests we were staying with wanted to try it out. I ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich and the cashier recommend a flavored latte for me. My husband got a muffin and a plain black roast. The prices were a bit high. I wanted a bottled water and it was $4.00. We opted for a free cup to fill up at their soda machine. My bagel was soggy and rubbery. It had clearly been microwaved. I could not even eat half. My coffee tasted way too much like a chemical syrup. My husbands muffin was decent and so was the coffee. Decent...not great. The big kicker was when I went to get some ice and water from the soda machine. I am big on cleanliness and I was a bit shocked with their soda machine. It was filthy and the area where the ice comes out had MOLD on the inside and out!!!!!!! So....needless to say, I did not get water. I left frustrated, hungry, and thirsty. read more

Went back on a slower day and my visit was definitely alot better. I had a very nice cold brew coffee with the espresso ice cubes. Coffee was strong and my drink was nice and cold. There seems to be a decent selection of quality coffee available, when you eventually get it...We came here for some coffee on a Saturday at 9 am, and I'm not sure if it was more crowded than a typical Saturday because it was during Mardi Gras season, but when we walked in, we saw a line of about 8-10 people. I figured that this was your typical Saturday morning group looking for their caffeine fix, like I have seen at many other coffee shops, so didn't think twice about standing in line for a few minutes. Unfortunately it wasn't a few minutes...where this line might take 5-10 minutes to flow through at your local Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, it took 22 minutes to eventually place our order (and yes I did an accurate time check). I counted 4 people total working: a guy in the kitchen, a lady running orders to those seated at tables, one lady making coffee, and one cashier. It seems like everyone was focused on their one task and that task alone. I felt bad for the gal making coffee as she obviously couldn't keep up with the orders and no one was helping her. I would think on a Saturday morning, you would provide a larger staff (especially if you were anticipating a larger crowd during Mardi Gras season). I actually saw a couple patrons leave as they didn't want to wait any longer. We had a cafe latte and the coffee of the day, which were both pretty good, but definitely not worth a 22 minute wait when I could have gone to other options for my morning pick me up. I didn't think this place was anything special. I think if you needed to meet someone to talk business for work it would provide a good atmosphere but the little I had was not good. I had a blueberry muffin. It says they are baked daily but it really didn't taste fresh to me, it was small and not worth the price to me especially after trying out mostly muffins. We also bought an egg burrito which was also a little pricey and was not impressive at all. They also only had a small selection of baked items. I will say Had a plethora of gelato flavors that looked really good and looked like they would be worth trying out. read more
