And my dog was NOT SEVERELY MATTED, but they decided to cut him all the way down and give him an uneven cut. I'm beyond pissed, won't be bringing my dog back here. Very unprofessional and not good at taking accountability for someone telling them they're less than satisfied with the service they received. Also charged me an extra $11 for the service WITHOUT TELLING ME WHY, had to ask later why and then it was explained to me. Just all around bad experience, 0 stars if I could. So mad I had to bring my baby here. Can't wait till this BOTCHED CUT grows out. EDIT: I know the clarification below was only for future customers and to save face, because the man I spoke to in the salon was ALLLLL about explaining explaining explaining when all I said was that I was unsatisfied. He even offered up the explanation that they "did not just try to take the easy way out" (his words, not mine). You knew I wasn't satisfied, hence all the explanations. Since she's double-coated, I expected it to take a little longer. The whole process took about three hours, and they sent updates on how she was doing along the way, which I appreciated. She looked great when I picked her up, super clean and shiny. They brushed out so much undercoat that she looked half her size, and the sanitary trim was done well. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely bring Winnie back for her grooming.

However, I would gave them a star off for the lack of communication with the actual groomer. Unlike a haircut, where I discuss my preferences with the stylist, I don't have a personal relationship with the groomer at Aroma Pet Grooming. In my opinion, having a rapport with your beautician is just as important as having a relationship with the person grooming your dog. My last groomer, for instance, groomed Gracie Mae's hair for 4 1/2 years until we moved.

The most we've ever had to wait is about 15 to 20 minutes. Today, was no different, walked in at 10:15a, let them know that we needed a nail trim, the associate said that the earliest they can get us in was not till 12 PM without an appointment. An appointment? I explained to them that in the five years we've been going to them for nail grinds (which is pretty frequent) we've never had to make an appointment. That's when she said that making appointment has always been in place. So, I walked out, came over to The Good Dog. The General Manager greeted us, even while working with another customer. Listening how he handled the other two customers in front of us (who appeared to be regulars) set the tone that this is a friendly place that we want to be a part of. You know, it's like "Cheers," you wanna go where everyone knows your name! Well, they were able to get us in right away. They advised we typically do not need to make an appointment for nail grind, but to simply call up to make sure they are not busy at the moment, otherwise can get in quickly. They told me she had been "wiggling a lot," gave me a cotton ball, and asked us to keep them updated. A cotton ball for an injury that ended up requiring stitches? That response did not reflect the seriousness of what happened. What I needed in that moment was a sincere apology, concern for my dog, and clear reassurance that they would take responsibility for her treatment. Instead, the explanation about her wiggling felt like they were putting the blame on her. Covering the expenses was the right thing to do, but it doesn't erase the injury or how upsetting their initial response was. This experience left me questioning the groomer's ability to handle a moving dog safely and the business's professionalism when something goes wrong. We made sure to put him through proper training before even considering grooming, and once we felt confident in his progress, we started looking for a groomer in the area. It was definitely challenging. Many places were hesitant to take him because of his background. When I reached out to All About Paws Pet Spa and explained his situation, they didn't hesitate at all. From the start, they were incredibly understanding and patient with Finn. Even on days when he can be a bit difficult, they continue to work with him with such care and professionalism. Because of them, grooming has become a much more positive experience for him and for us. I've also brought my other pets here, and every visit has been just as great.
