Paw Paw Pet Grooming is a lifesaver! They treated my anxious rescue, Mavis, with so much love when everyone else said no. The 30-minute drive was completely worth it. She was very matted and sensitive around her paws and tail. I had taken her to PetSmart the day before, but they were unable to do any grooming because she wouldn't stay still when they tried to work on her paws and butt area. I had to pick her up just 10 minutes after dropping her off. After she gently nibbled on the PetSmart groomer's hand -- not to bite, but just to show she was uncomfortable -- I reached out to a handful of groomers in my area through Yelp. Nobody wanted to take her in. All they saw was an "aggressive dog," but Mavis is far from that. She's sweet and loving, just a little sensitive in those specific areas. The PetSmart groomer even recommended hemp chewables to calm her down, but with Paw Paw Pet Grooming, none of that was necessary. They handled her perfectly, with patience and care, and Mavis stayed calm and happy the whole time. When I messaged Paw Paw through Yelp they were amazing from the start! They actually read my entire message, acknowledged everything I shared about Mavis and my past experiences, and even offered me a SAME-DAY appointment at 2:30 PM! That alone showed me how much they care about their clients and their pets. When I arrived, the girl was so sweet, patient, and confident with Mavis. Her & her co-worker handled her with so much care and understanding, kept her calm, and somehow finished her entire groom in just 1.5 hours when a few places quoted me 3 to 3.5 hours because of her "difficulty level." When I picked her up, I was speechless. She looks absolutely perfect and, most importantly, she was happy and relaxed. I have a breed of dog that most aren't familiar with so it's hard to get a good cut. I brought in a few photos of what I was hoping for, had a good discussion then left my prized pup. Service was quick and effective. We evaluated the results and sent her back in for one more little trim. It was exactly the perfect cut! So good we came back for a second cut eight weeks later. Another perfect cut! She was careful with my dog's sensitive skin and made sure the ears were tidy too. The groomer is soft-spoken but a good listener. She asked all the questions she needed answered. I feel like we have good communication and my dog is well taken care of. And my dog doesn't tremble when we go in, which is a nice change so she must not hate it as much as some of the other places she's been to. read more

Highly recommend if you're a cat owner! There aren't many local groomers who offer services for cats so I was glad to find one close by. Stacy was responsive when I was looking to book an appointment and had availability for my desired date and time. I adopted Lady from the Upland Animal Shelter (also recommend) three months ago and she was still timid around strangers. Stacy was sweet and gentle with Lady when I dropped her off and I was surprised to see her hugging Stacy in her arms when I returned. I have never seen Lady this calm and pleasant with a stranger. I had walked into her business and there was a client there that I talked to to find out how she felt about the business and Stacey had just finished her one dog and she was waiting for her other dog. OMGosh how beautiful her dog looked. She was a little dog but the lady had driven from San Gabriel to have Stacey groom them. Her haircut was perfect. I knew right then I wanted to try her and am I glad I did. He'll be going back there for sure. In the other grooming places I had taken him he was running out the door panting to get out of there but when I went to pick up Ghost he was just hanging out on the floor just watching the other dogs getting groomed Ghost he was calm. I don't like groomers being mean to any dog. Not only did she open up in this strip mall but it just so happens that I get my nails done at Luxury Nails in the same mall. She's good too. That's why I saw that Stacey had opened up there. So I can have two events at the same time. I highly recommend her. As long as she will be there I'll be using this small business. I tried this groomer because of the great reviews. I was able to get in the next day and the price quoted was reasonable. I dropped off my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and she thought he was a mixed breed, although she stated she was familiar with the breed and had groomed many of them. She called me and said my dog had many fleas and she said she took pictures to show me. She suggested a flea bath which would be an additional $15. I agreed to the flea bath. When I came to pick up my dog, she said she is going to double the cost of the flea bath to $30 because he had many fleas which she already told me he had, but quoted $15. That is not how you treat your customers, especially a first time customer that you are building a relationship with for repeat business. My dog looked good, but they forgot to trim under the ear as I requested, so she trimmed his ears in the lobby. My greatest concern is since they charge based on the weight of the dog, and he is only 28 pounds, a small breed dog, she should not have doubled the cost of what was quoted to me. I'm going to continue looking for an honest, as well as skilled and caring dog groomer. read more
