I had my 3rd massage at Serenity Spa this evening with Jenny and it was phenomenal! The two I had prior were awesome as well, but tonight was probably one of the best I have ever had (I get them regularly). I like firm pressure and Jenny is very strong. She got all my knots and made me feel like a new person! In fact, I had booked 1 1/2 hours and ended up adding another 1/2 hour because I didn't want it to end. Well... came here for a 90 min massage with Sophia after reading about this place on yelp. Easy to book online and pay for ahead of time. I give 5 stars for Sophia. She is professional, very strong and did check in with me 3 times over the course of the massage to make sure the pressure was right and I was enjoying it. I think it was one of the best deep tissue massages I've had. She found all the knots and broke through the boulders of my back and shoulders. 4 stars for the linens (kinda beat up) so detracts a little from the experience but the rooms are clean and comfortable. When I tell you...that was the best massage I've EVER had...I mean that in all sincerity. I told her I have neck and shoulder pain and right away got to work, providing the right pressure while also maintaining motions on the rest of my body so I could unwind and relax like I haven't in a few years. The location is very relaxing and the rooms are peaceful, serenaded by relaxing soothing music. This is a very clean massage spa with really nice staff. I called this morning to see if there was any openings for a couples massages, and we got in for this afternoon. I went for a regular massage on 5/31/2024, which was my Mother's Day gift from my husband. We've been there before and had a nice enough experience so he got me a gift card there. I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I was so looking forward to this because it was my first massage postpartum since giving birth to my daughter in December. When I arrived I the woman up front took me to multiple rooms that were either occupied or not prepared until finally showing me to a room that was ready and empty. She told me to undress and lie down and that my massage therapist will be there shortly. I got ready for the massage and I tried to relax on the table. However, I kept waiting and waiting and no one came in. I finally got up and saw that I'd been waiting for 15 minutes. I got dressed and went outside to see if I could find anyone to ask what was going on. But no one was around and after a few minutes I decided to go back into the room and wait more. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe there was a shift change or needed to get supplies ready. Surely they wouldn't forget about me. But I kept waiting and eventually got up, got dressed and when I heard someone outside my room I went out and told the woman a saw that I have been waiting for 30 minutes for my massage. She was a different woman than who showed me to the room. She looked surprised and confused and went looking for her coworker. The woman who showed me to the room then walked up and they talked to each other in another language. The woman who showed me to the room initially looked at me and asked if I had an appointment. I couldn't believe it. I told her yes and that she was the one who initially helped me. I think she finally recognized me and sounded shocked the massage therapist hadn't come yet. She said they would be there right away and the other woman offered 10 more minutes of massage. I told her no I because I have a baby at home is who I need to get back to. The massage therapist came, offered no explanation, and went right into the massage. I was so upset and sad that I couldn't really enjoy the massage. I couldn't believe they actually forgot about it. I hope they address whatever problem that occurred so this doesn't happen to others. read more

I went here for the prenatal massage, and seeing that it was $100 I was expecting this place to be a nicer salon. I booked a couples massage for me and my husband, and we were brought back into our room shortly after arriving. It was slightly stuffy and warm, and you could really hear the doors opening and closing and people talking in other parts of the building. My masseuse was very polite and nice, but I did not feel like the prenatal massage was anywhere close to being worth $100. This place felt a step above an Asian foot spa, as they have nice building interiors, and played soft music, but there were a lot of things off that wouldn't have happened at a nicer spa. First off, we filled out papers indicating where to avoid and where to focus on, I put feet, hands, neck, and low back. While we were laying down, my husband's masseuse entered and started massaging my husband while I just watched and waited for mine to begin. A few minutes later she entered and my massage began. The front desk woman abruptly came into our room shortly after with our papers and handed them to the staff to review, after our massages had already started and I was so confused what was going on as they were all talking about the papers and where to avoid. At one point my whole ass was out from the sheet as my low back was getting massaged for several minutes. I didn't feel like she was comfortable placing the sheet around my body while I was lying on my side. My right foot was somehow completely missed.....and most unfortunately of all, the prenatal pillow/bolster kept slipping around and I felt like I actually ended up being tenser from trying to stay on my side, when I left the massage than before and felt the places I had indicated where not focused especially on. The women had me lay on my back a few times without anything under my knees or legs and I kept rolling to my side for comfort. I read another review on here that was so similar to my experience. My husband said his massage was fine, and given how many positive reviews this place has, I wanted to share my experience. For a $100 prenatal massage, I left very disappointed unfortunately. read more

I had the pleasure of going in for a 90 minute CBD massage today. Amy S was my masseuse and oh my goodness lemme tell you, I've never had such a good massage in my life. She worked on knots I didn't even know I had! And not only did she give me a face/sinus massage, but she massaged my eye bags! Have you ever had your eye bags massaged?! We come about every other week to maintain and take care of our bodies as we both have highly physical jobs. The Amy's are a dynamic duo and we are always excited to see them! Unfortunately, both of the rooms available for couples massages are near the entryway / front desk; the doors and walls are thin and it's quite loud a lot of the time. You can hear outside and indoor foot traffic, chatter, the front desk phone ringing, being answered, and EVERYthing in the next room (I noticed there's literally a large hole in the wall with a thin grate... why??!) Some sound dampening foam, solid-core doors (and plugging that hole!) would really help. That being said, it's one of the few places that offer couples massage with prices that are pretty competitive- for what are USUALLY decently excellent massages. I say usually because a few times now, mere hours before our previously made appointments for a couples massage with specifically reserved masseuse+masseur were supposed to happen, I've gotten an innocuous text message that my appointment has "changed." Once it was the time for one of the people to an entirely different time slot, but not the other (for a couples massage?!) =I called in but was told someone else needed to be substituted if we wanted to get our "couples massage" at the same time. The substitute was not great, to my girlfriend's dismay. There was another time before that that this happened with me- again, not a great substitution. And just a few days ago, again, got the text message (2 hours beforehand; it's supposed to be 3 hours or more if we're going to request a cancelation so I wasn't even sure if this was an option but we'd already made plans to go hiking that day and my gf really wanted a massage afterwards and once again I was told the woman we'd whom we'd had good experiences with previously, and had reserved way in advance was suddenly unavailable, but there was someone else who was supposedly "very popular, and really good" instead. Suffice to say, she was not; my gf said she wasn't worth the price, even at the discounted rate from the (second) bulk package I'd purchased. And the place/people next door were especially loud that day, plus all the phone calls at the front = my girlfriend was PISSED. When we asked Mary at the front desk what had happened with our original reservation, we were told "oh, it got really busy today" ...ummm so does that mean the masseuse we previously made a RESERVED appointment with was then later requested elsewhere when things "got busy" and we got the substandard leftovers?! Because we'd already paid ahead of time? Or she was tired out from being overworked beforehand? Or what? So now my girlfriend says she refuses to ever come back to this place!!! We live over the bridge in Benicia, so it IS kind of out-of-the way but like I said, the prices were reasonable and the service (if you get the right person doing it) was usually great! I never leave reviews but just wanted to comment on a few things that hopefully will influence them to make changes. First they make you pay upfront which I was kinda startled by. It might be their way of doing things but it's a bit off putting when you first get there. Second, the massage table I had was completely flat so the head rest was really uncomfortable and I left with a sore and strained neck. Third, massage was ok. My masseuse was a man I didn't get his name but I mainly needed work on my back and he did a great job on that but the rest was ok. I've noticed they like to spend a lot of time on shoulders, not just this place but a lot of Asian massage places. It hurts me a lot for some reason so that's just my personal dislike towards it plus I mainly wanted my back worked on. But if you're someone who isn't as picky as me and just needs a standard massage they do a good job. read more
