It took quite a long time for us to get our food despite the fact that it was a less busy time of the day-11:15am on a Su The bone-in tangy gold wings tasted like a honey mustard sauce. Wings were perfectly cooked, but the wings are smaller than ones we get in most places. Build-your-own small pizza: you choose your sauce, cheese, and topping. One free topping and approximately $1.25 for each additional toppings. My SO ordered a small size with marinara and garlic olive oil sauce, mozzarella and provolone cheese, and pepperoni on his pizza. He thought this place was unlimited toppings like Mod Pizza or Fired Pie, but only one free topping comes with it. The pepperoni and cheese slid off the pizza and that was really frustrating. What a special pizza joint! Was not able to try the beer, but the pizza was really good. It had that one-of-a-kind taste and texture, with loads of toppings! I always appreciate local pizza places for their unique products. The service was fast considering how packed it was in there. That being said, the place was slammed packed of folks, kind of loud because of how open it is and how packed in people are. The southeast side was going nuts when they found out a Serial Grillers was opening out so I waited patiently for the craze to die down post opening to try. The Hubs and I came in for lunch at a Sunday, right after opening time. It was nice as it was not too busy. The layout is spacious, clean and minimalist. You go up and order, take a number back to your table and they bring you your grub. We ordered cheesesteaks, wings and rings. The rings were delicious (score) as was my Kalifornia cheesesteak. I think my Hubs had ordered the Hannibal (sp?) which he found tasty as well. He said the wings were 'okay'. Not sure this place is known for their wings though so take that for what it is worth. I truly enjoyed this place, and will return to try something different -- maybe pizza or a salad. I am a definitely a fan as the food was good and delicious, but I am not sure I would say this the best I have ever had. I will say that I am happy they are out here as it is the type of place anyone can find something on the menu they like. They have some big televisions throughout for sports, and a nice selection of beer. I was pretty underwhelmed by this place. We went in and sat at the bar. I ordered a burger and my bf ordered a cheesesteak. They brought my order wrong and it took another 20 minutes to get it redone. In the meantime his sandwich was cold. Both items were something we could have gotten anywhere. The Houghton location is large. You place your beer and food order at the counter. You get your drink and a number for your table I had the Deathproof Pastrami sandwich and it is excellent. Came here for a happy hour with coworkers. Ordered some guava cider (awesome, not too sweet) and cheese bread and onion rings. Food was good. Ordered a cheeseburger later - was a little salty. Coworker ordered a cheesesteak, and I was disappointed to see how little meat and toppings were on the bread. Place was clean but cold..wore my jacket the whole night. My family and I are so thrilled to have serial grillers opened here in Rita Ranch. This is in the old Chuy's building, which was kind of a dump to be honest. They have ripped everything out and given the building the fabulous, stylish, clean New feel to it . The building is huge and has lots of seating options. it will accommodate just yourself if you want to escape from the family and come grab a sub, or hang out at the bar with friends, or come in as a family and enjoy a large delicious pizza. There are lots of ceiling fans all throughout which made the building feel amazing, even though it was a whopping 106 outside today LOL the The staff, even though today is opening day, handled the crowds flawlessly. Each one had a smile on their face and they were on top of everything. They offer a self serve soda machine with three new flavors that I personally have never seen before. The burgers here are amazing and the Buns have a slight garlic taste to them which makes the burger taste amazing. The pizza is out of this world! Finally! A good pizza place in Rita Ranch! The cheesesteaks are the closest thing that I could find to an East Coast sub. All I can say is, while I'm glad to have them here in Rita Ranch... There goes my diet LOL read more

I'm going to have to start with a 3 for this place. It has an odd entrance with no greeting from staff or signs, just a podium with menus. Wednesday at lunch, didn't seem overly busy as we made our way to the other side to stand in line and order. Menu was very fun with helpful descriptions. I went with the meat calzone (forgot the name, maybe red dragon). Was here on a business lunch and got to talking, then realized a good 20 minutes had went by and no food. It did come a little later. Only one of us got forks or silverware delivered with food so we had to go up and ask for another. First thing I noticed was a the pile of grease on the plate/tray under my calzone. I know it's a meat calzone, but it threw me off a little, would have been nice if they drip dried it a bit before delivery. Calzone tasted great and the other sandwhich tasted good (said the other person). I will definitely return to give the burgers and wings a try, they looked good. The restaurant is very clean, openly spaced, and fun. Hoping to upgrade this review soon on a better return trip. read more

My wife and I had an afternoon to just chill. We wanted to stay close to home so we decided to try this place out. Found out that this was related to Detroit Transplant. We liked that place so we were sure this place wouldn't disappoint and it didn't. The beer selections were plentiful! I had a la cumbre beer (I miss this place) and my wife had a local beer. I have been here twice now and waited to review it to make sure my experiences warranted a review, either good or bad. Let me start by explaining that my husband and I have developed a 3-strike policy over the years after many, many poor dining experiences. This restaurant has struck-out after our second visit. Our first visit we tried one of the philly cheesestakes and a pizza, along with a side of tots. Both dishes had jalapenos and although incredibly spicy, tasted good. The pizza, however, was swimming in grease. Between the spice and the grease, one slice sent my stomach into spasms, and I am a spice connoisseur. The tots were the highlight as lightly deep-fried potato confections from heaven. Sadly with the pizza not setting well I wasn't able to continue indulging on the tots. Our second visit we once again ordered tots and decided to try burgers and another starter, the bread bites with marinara. The tots were once again the highlight and the bread bites a close second. They were bites of lightly crisped pizza dough topped with butter and parmesan exterior, with a soft, chewy interior. Some were a bit extra-chewy on the edges, but none were beyond edibility. Our burgers, however, were a huge letdown. I ordered the Jack of All Trades with 1/4 lb. patty, bacon, avocado, jack cheese and chipotle mayo. When it arrived I couldn't believe the size of the patty. I know 1/4 isn't huge, but this was tiny and cooked til it was hard and dry. The cheese had bubbles over the edges and burned to a hard crisp all around the outside of the patty. The fries on the burger were mostly hard and dry as well adding no additional taste value. The bacon was mediocre and the avocados were actually smashed avocados smeared on one side of the bun. The other burgers we ordered were all similar. Much less meat than bun and over-cooked. The side of fries we also ordered were thankfully crisp and seemed fresh, but they tasted like they were cooked in old, stale grease. This trip, like our last, we enjoyed a couple of bears with our meal. Unfortunately they tasted sour. They were beers we have had in the past, but this time they tasted like the taps may not have been clean. One of my biggest reasons for not coming to this restaurant again is the cleanliness of the kitchen staff. Our first visit was when it was warmer outside and there were at least two employees wearing tank tops. Both had a good amount of body hair and were working on food. I also noticed employees touching their filthy aprons while preparing food. Many had facial hair and were rubbing their faces or running their hands through their hair while cooking and preparing the food as well. Our latest visit was no different, although none were in tank tops. The only reason this restaurant didn't received a single star is because it has a healthy beer selection and there are a couple of decent things on the menu, like their tots and bread bites. read more

My husband had a way overdone burger served with a kid's bag of chips; I tried a Calzone and a couple sodas. Our food took FOREVER (over 25 minutes) to be prepared and brought to the table. I come to Serial Grillers for the burgers. Their burgers are so good and so fresh. You can tell the patties are made from scratch and cooked to order. I'm not really a fan of the potato salad. I find that it always is too salty and has an odd flavor to it. Last time I went (last week), they didn't have any bags of chips, so I had to settle with a different side (either potato salad or coleslaw) and I always forget that I don't like the potato salad. Maybe next time, I'll remember to try the coleslaw. The aesthetic of the place is as you'd guess--very serial killer themed without being gruesome. Funnily enough, it's family friendly. Service was friendly and fast. As I said, come here for the burgers! ...and the tater tots! But again, the tots are a bit overly salted as well. Because I'm not the biggest fan of spicy foods, I ordered the "Psycho" without jalapeños. Hands down this is the most incredible cheesesteak that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The classic flavor combination paired with the cilantro mayo and avocado blew this sandwich out of the water. As if this wasn't good enough already, the honey garlic wings were also better than any I had ever eaten. As a New Yorker, finding good wings is a big deal! These were exquisite. The Pinhead Panini was what my boyfriend's order, which he says is exactly what a panini should taste like: "Its crispiness was on point." I would eat here daily if I could! Serial Grillers is good, but not great. Novel concept in a nice space with good food and great beer selection. It's novel to have serial killer theme, but the place is too many things. It was confusing to order if you miss the menu stand. The problem is too much choice. The Philly sandwich I had was good, but forgettable. I had to look up the name, but I had a Hannibal. You're only given the choice of two sides, Cole slaw or potato salad. The sides are expensive, my onion rings ran $4.50, and no discount if I brought a sandwich. Serial Grillers is a good option for some bar and American fare. This location is big and open with tables, bar seating, as well as a dog friendly patio. This is one of those places that are easy to take a large group with diverse preferences because you can order at the counter and there is something for everyone. I've tried a little bit of almost everything on their menu. I think the burgers and pizzas/calzones are the best entrees to go for on the menu. They have some unique pizza topping combos that are worth a try. They also have some great burgers. The sausage on their pizza isn't the standard ground sausage, more of a sliced sausage which is not my personal preference. The salads, wings, and cheesesteaks haven't impressed me. The salads I've ordered always feel like mostly lettuce, I love salads that have good proportions so you can get a bit of everything in each bite. I'm not a heavy beer drinker, but my other half thinks they have a pretty solid selection of beer on tap. They also have a few wines which I've found to be tasty. Onion rings are fantastic! The batter isn't thick, they have a great crunch, perfectly golden, never undercooked. The tots are also crispy and delicious. They've got the fried apps aced. Great ranch too, doesn't taste like it was squirted out of a Kraft bottle. I appreciate the play on Serial Killers with their menu items, fun and clever way to differentiate itself from other local Pizza/Burger joints. read more
