Terrible experience, would NOT recommend going to this dealership. They prey on the young is an under statement. I drove 2 hours out of my way to trade in my truck because they told me they would give me retail price for it, and they tried to pull a quick one on me and offer me less. Then proceeded to keep me there all day long from about 9:30 to 3:30ish even though i told them i needed to be gone by 3:00. They are extremely heavy on selling you on one price then turning around and adding absurd extra charges. They're also very pushy to make the deal, i asked my salesmen if i could step away and make a phone call and I could just see how annoyed he was by this. They also aren't willing to work with you to get you, the buyer, a lower monthly payment. They also don't apply for your registration for you nor do they bother telling you. I also was told "you don't need a temp tag just tell them you just bought it" which is crazy. To add to it they basically stole money from me, meaning with my trade in i should have had $3,975 to put towards a new truck but somehow i was only given $3,010. They stay dodging phone calls and the receptionist is just straight up rude. Another point that I will make is that they will try to convince you that your best option is to finance through South East Toyota when you don't and they only tell you that to get even more money out of you. To summarize the are only doing whats best for them not you the customer. Money hungry and greedy is the best way to describe this dealership. Although we do not own Toyota's we do have oil change service here for our three Lexus vehicles. They are always very courteous and polite and do not try to up sell things that you don't need. If you give them your email address they will send great coupons too. The waiting area is also nice with plenty of seating, televisions, free WiFi and also free donuts, coffee and sandwiches on Fridays. read more

My 4Runner had a recall for the fuel pump. I brought it to the dealership. They "fixed" it and sent me on my way. Three days later the check engine light comes on when I'm out of town. They told me to drive it home, that I was fine. One hour later, I ran out of gas on the highway because I did not know my gas gauge no longer worked. I've been back here three times for th me same issue and I'm not confident that it's fixed. Plus it takes so long each time I'm here. Do not recommend at all. read more

I had an appointment with them this morning at 9:10, and due to all the illness going around I had to deal with a sick child so I called to tell them I was going to be about 15 or 20 minutes late. I'm coming from south of Greystone by the way. The girl on the phone tells me that if it's more than 15 minutes late that they cannot guarantee that I would still have my appointment! The quality of Toyota vehicles is unquestionably high. The quality of service from Serra Toyota is unquestionably terrible. Let me count the ways: When getting a new car, I understandably visited numerous dealers to check out different makes/models, do a little comparison shopping. This was less than understandable to the thick-heads at Serra. I told them up front I was not making a decision that day, was not going to purchase a car that day, but they insisted on wasting vast amounts of my time by having one salesman, manager et al after another enter to repeat giving me the hard sell, asking what it would take to get me to buy a car right then and there, have me repeat "nothing, I'm not going to buy one today" and them ignoring my answer. In retrospect, I should have just walked out, but I knew I might eventually settle on getting a Prius, so I didn't want to be rude. When I did eventually decide to buy one, my return visit was "I don't know if we can give you any sort of deal.." after the previous "we'll do anything! how low do you want us to go?!?" sales pitch. Then they told me the paperwork would be super quick to fill out, by which they meant over an hour, but in fairness they botched said paperwork by putting the wrong address on it. Then they botched putting the license plate on my new car. Then when I encountered an issue with my new car and called to ask about it, they had no clue. And don't forget that they set you up with Southeast Toyota Finance, also just terrible --- when calling to see why my payment hasn't been processed, they said it may have been forwarded to a different office but goodness, they had no way to find out. Or get me any information of any kind. Or have any way to talk to anyone who can find it out. Or register a complaint about anything, either on the phone or the website they told us to go to while on hold (the hold where they told me every 30 seconds how important customer satisfaction is to them). Jamie V. the service person was friendly and made it a point to let me know the wait time and the details of the oil consumption test. It is a shame I have to drive 25 minutes to get better service as opposed to Hoover Toyota. 11/7/15 Follow-up visit for my oil consumption test. I was a little too early but the service guy checked it anyway and said to please come back, I will more than likely fail my test. He told me no matter what, do not go to Hoover Toyota. I explained my bad experience with them and he said he has had the same sad stories. They balanced my tires and checked all my light bulbs for free. I made an appointment and because the Hallmark channel was on, I can't say the wait was long but I didn't have to pay for anything. My Angel (2007 Camry) was in good hands. read more

Saturday was my first time bringing my car to be serviced. This is where I purchased my car as well so I knew I wanted to have my car serviced here as well. I scheduled my appointment for 9 am. When I got there, there were quite few cars there. As soon as I pulled up I was greeted and asked what I was there for today. I proceeded to let him know and was told to step inside to give my information to be serviced. Everyone was very nice and very professional. I wish I would've gathered people names (I am bad with this lol) but everyone I encountered were great. The gentleman that took me to the counter to check out informed me of when I would need to come back. He also let me know that I had some corrosion on my battery and what they needed to do. I just know any services that will be needed for my vehicle, I will be returning to them. So far services has been great to me!! read more

Three times I have taken my car to this dealership after recieving a recall notice from Toyota. Each of those times they told me the recall was free but I still managed to walk out of there with a $500 bill as they found " other things wrong" with my 2004 Corolla. This last time they charged me $125 for a part that retails online for $80. I will never take my business to the Serra family of car dealerships again and I hope this review keeps others away as well. They are RIP OFF ARTISTS! read more

I purchased a 2020 Toyota Rava 4 on 1/24/2020. On 1/25/2020, the check light came on. Immediately, I contacted the sales consultant and told him that I was dissatisfied with the purchase and that the check engine light shouldn't be coming on a brand new vehicle that had zero miles. I left the vehicle to be serviced at the dealership on 1/25/2020. On 1/27/2020, I picked up the vehicle; however, on 1/28/2020, the check engine light came on again. I contacted the sales consultant to advise of this issue and that I wanted a replacement. He agreed and it was replaced with another 2020 Toyota Rav 4. On 8/22/2020, the replacement vehicle wouldn't start. I had the vehicle towed via Toyota Care's third party vendor, which was an all day ordeal to get Toyota Care to coordinate the service request. Customer service was unacceptable and they weren't prompt. They entered my address incorrectly in their system, which made it impossible for the tow company to locate my home, which further delayed the tow company picking up my vehicle. The replacement Rav 4 was serviced and returned to me on 8/25/2020. On 12/9/2020, the replacement car wouldn't start again. I told the sales consultant that I wanted another replacement car since something was wrong with this model. Apparently none of the vehicles are up to standard since I continue to have issues. I was advised that there was a system update taking place on the vehicle that was draining the battery and the dealership was aware of this issue; however, I was never contacted to bring the vehicle in for this update, which could've prevented me being stranded. I called Toyota Care to schedule a towing service. After waiting 2.5 hours, the tow company hadn't showed up. I reached out to them and was advised that the driver turned around because he wasn't feeling well. At no point, did Toyota Care follow up and advise nor did they reschedule my tow. Therefore, I called Toyota Care and asked them to send another tow truck. I was advised that they would be at my home around 4 pm. The tow truck company called at 4:01 pm and advised that they wouldn't make it to my home until 4:30 pm, which was an inconvenience since Serra Toyota's service department closed at 6 pm. This has been the worse car buying and customer service experience ever. At this point, I will never purchase a Toyota again due to piss poor service from Serra Toyota and Toyota Care! It is unacceptable to treat your customers this way. These vehicles do not appear to be operating at a quality standard and I don't feel as if this company has worked to remedy my issue. It is an inconvenience for me to continuously have to take off from my job and drive 51 miles to this dealership, only to be inconvenienced by the vehicle breaking down a few days or months later. Selling quality products should be your top priority and making sure that your customers are having a pleasurable experience; however, this doesn't seem to be the case with this company. read more

I'm 16 years old and I drive a little bit lifted tundra with nice wheels on it. I accidentally busted my front grille on my truck and I called Serra Toyota to ask how much it would be. The guy on the phone, which I forgot his name, said it was gonna be around $640 after tax. I get to the dealership and talk to a guy named Hunter who was really nice and helpful. He then goes back to get a quote and another guy says $1300. I think he looked at my truck and tried to stick it to me. So I told them that was ridiculous and I went to a body shop and Limbaugh Toyota had one in stock and I got it for $611. For now Limbaugh Toyota will be getting my business and not Serra. I do not appreciate the guy there and how I was treated. I was gouged and they didn't honor the price I was originally given. read more

I wish I had read the other horrible reviews for this dealership before I wasted my time going there Saturday. I had an absolutely horrible experience. I don't normally write responses but others need to know that my visit to this dealership is the worst experience I have had in 30 years anywhere. I made an inquiry online first about a car I saw listed. Derrick texted me on Thursday, Friday and Saturday saying they had what I was looking for. I clearly told him my criteria. He sent photos of cars. He texted me Saturday and told me he had 10 new Camrys on their lot I would like. I clearly told him I did not have much time to go to the dealership and he said he understood. I decided to drive an hour to come see the options he promised. When I arrived (even though I told Derrick I was on my way) he had me sit in the waiting area for 30 minutes. He then passed me off to Ron who knew nothing about my needs that I had already clearly spent time explaining to Derrick. Ron starred at his computer for over 10 minutes and didn't even say a word. I asked Ron to see the cars Derrick said met my criteria. He said they didn't have anything like I wanted. I was very confused and showed him all of my texts and photos from Derrick. Ron took me outside and showed me a car almost twice my price range. He didn't listen to any of my needs. I saw Derrick so I asked him to see the 10 cars he said he had on the lot. He talked in circles and never even showed me a single car that was even remotely close to what he said he had. My criteria weren't even that difficult- I found 2 cars at other places I am considering. I will never return and do not trust this dealership. I have never been lied to that much and had so much of my time wasted. Truly horrible experience. read more

After my experience I wrote a very scathing review here on Yelp of Serra Toyota . I had vowed to never purchase from them again. However, my salesperson, VanDerrick and Mehgan B (customer service manager, I think) listened and took action on making things right. VanDerrick contacted the sales manager and they invited me in for discounted service for the issue I was having with my car. Unfortubately, after an exhausting attempt to get my car to them I took my car to Hoover Toyota . I felt there was now no chance of restitution and decided to take Megan B. up on her offer here on Yelp and I contacted her and told her the whole story . She took immediate action and within 5 minutes she had me in contact with the general manager. I am very grateful for the help they are providing in getting me back on the road. Justin H helped us out, and found us an awesome deal on two relatively new cars (a Camry and a Corolla). He was not pushy or aggressive, but ensured that the dealership met us at our cost goal. He has also continued to be available for any questions or concerns (just a text away!) and has helped us with some after-purchase issues. Bunch of scammers. I 'upgraded' my car and was told I wouldn't have to pay more than a certain amount each month. Well, I did have to and do have to until I pay the car off. It was a good deal but that had nothing to do with the sales'man'. After I sold my old car for less than what it was worth, they said I had to make one more payment in person at the store. Why? I just sold the damn thing. I talked to my financial services and they said not to pay because I didn't owe anything. I took my car to Serra Toyota to get a diagnostic test. Each day the service manager, Mr Shannon called me in an attempt to get more money. While my vehicle was being service, Mr. Shannon called and stated the actuator on the passenger side was broken which would cost approximately 1300.00 to repair. The door was opening and closing prior to me taking the vehicle to Serra. After paying approximately 700.00 for repairs which included back breaks, the break light came on as soon as we got the car home. The manager, Mr. Shannon stated we would have to pay for another diagnostic since the car had left the shop. We never drove the vehicle, only moved the vehicle from one space to another. The vehicle had not been driven after leaving the shop. I am not satisfied with the work performed and the actions taken by the service manager. I will never purchase a vehicle from Serra Toyota or take my vehicle to the service department. read more

Per the website it said to call for the price of a 2015 Tacoma. The salesman quoted $19,900. I told him we found the car on Edmunds.com for $16,600. He said "Oh, that's the internet price" but that he would honor it. I told him we would be there within 2 hours. I even texted him when we left the house. Upon arriving, our salesman was working with another customer. Rather strange he was busy as he knew we were coming but they offered a new salesman. The new guy sat us inside and said he needed to fill out several pieces of paper. Again, rather strange as we had not even seen the truck but maybe they needed it for a test drive. He asked for a copy of our license. Then he said "One more piece of paper. A credit check". My husband said do we really need to fill this out since we would not be financing through the dealership. He said "yes, he needed to fill it out". We ended up giving our mortgage payment and my social. When it came time to give salaries my husband said again 'Do we really need to fill this out? We are not going through the dealership". Truth be told, we were NOT to going to give salaries. So the guy said he would override management and not worry about the paper. Like he was doing us a favor. THEN he said 'I think we sold that truck this morning". I told him the first guy said it was available only 2 hours earlier. He went to get the key and said since it was gone the truck was sold. Needless to say we was getting really frustrated at this time. I told him to check with the first guy as maybe he had pulled the key. After about 5 minutes he came back with a key and took us outside. The truck he opened was black while the truck we were interested in was grey but maybe the grey looked different in the sunlight. He pulled the truck half way out of the parking space and then said "The truck you wanted sold earlier but this truck had half the miles with more upgrades". The problem was we were purchasing for our 16 year old and were already at our max. So we asked the price. Minor detail I know. The salesman said he would have to go talk to his sales manager. Really? Why he didn't have this price was beyond our imagination. He went back inside for about 15-20 minutes only to return to say his general manager was looking into it but how about a test drive? Well we were done at this time. Definitely a bait and switch going. There were other trucks in our price range but he was showing us a truck nearly $10k more than we wanted to pay. I(We found a price on the website) Absolutely the worst car sales tactics we have ever seen. Here is the interesting thing. We are actually in the market for 2 cars, as I need one too. Also, I was extremely impressed with the Ahmadou Sow (Sales Person) who really gave me a detailed tour of the vehicle prior to purchase which I never had done before. I have no axe to grind, but I simply know that what you're saying is not true. Tanner, can you think of any condition your car may have been in that would have caused them to offer you 120 % over Kelly Blue Book trade in, private sale, or retail. I can. Think about it. Mass mailings apparently work. You tried and your trade in was worth less than what you thought. Moral of the story: sell it outright, and do a straight purchase with no trade. Price is average for auto repair at a dealership. Quality of work and reliability and warranty are better than other Toyota dealers I've used in the south east. Overall pretty good experience with their service department. Of course if you don't know mechanics you may get taken advantage of.
