Locals love this pizza shop in the mission. Quick and easy for eating in and to-go. There's a little room to eat inside but most take it out. $7 for a slice of cheese surprised me until I saw the slice. It was made to order so I waited a bit but worth it. The slice was basically two slices inside. They sure do load up the plate. Sturdy slice, great for an energy booster. If you're not too hungry, you could even share each slice. read more

Although it's been awhile since my last order,I feel I must report on my last two deliveries from here...What happened did this spot change owners or something? Because the last 2 pizzas I had from here were very poorly made to the point I decided not to ever get it from here again. I ordered my usual of BBQ Chicken pizza..2nd to last time it was a gross soggy wet mess,the toppings and cheese literally slid off the crust and the last pizza i ever had from here had a hair in it yuck! We just happened to be parked infront of Serrano's so we thought why not get a late night snack. I've never heard or seen this spot but there seemed to be a steady flow of customers. We got a slice of the fresh pizza which included red onions, basil, and tomatoes. The slice was huge! This review is more for the wings than anything else. I love that their serving of a slice of pizza is equivalent to TWO of the standard pizza shop's single slice serving size. Spectacular bc I usually need 2 slices to satisfy this big boy hunger. The wings used to be good here. I'd get the Serrano Special and would be a happy camper. But a few days ago...I got an order of buffalo wings and was SUUUUPER disappointed. How do you ruin wings? I tell you how. They're supposed to have sauce. Buffalo wings have buffalo sauce. Note that I did not try their pizza but their pasta since I was craving that. Perhaps that was my mistake since it's Serrano's Pizza, not Serrano's Pasta. It came with garlic bread, which was appreciated. The garlic bread was the standout: crispy, warm, and flavorful. I even thought about asking for another one. The lasagna was just alright. It wasn't the worst I've had, but it's not something I would think about coming back for. It was swimming in oil/sauce. It was $16, which is steep for lasagna that unfortunately tastes like something you get from the frozen aisle at the grocery store. Their sauce, while it said was made in house, just tasted like something out of a jar. I also wish they put a bit more cheese in between the pasta layers. The food also took awhile to come out - like 20-30 min. There's no table service - more of a takeout place with a few seats on the side if you're looking for that. read more

I've been buying slices of pizza here for 10 years now and over the last, I'd say maybe a year or so a young girl started working at the front counter and I have to say she's not a good addition. She's very rude and unprofessional and just has a bad attitude and not very Customer friendly service oriented at all. Came here for a late night slice since it was right across the street from our parking garage. I was pretty shocked to see that a slice of pizza was $10, that was until I saw just how big those slices were. Each slice was actually cut into two - making it much easier to eat! The picture doesn't really do it justice, but take my word, they were big! I would say they were similar to the size of a pizza my heart slice, but bigger, more doughy, and way more toppings - so much more filling. We had to wait about 10 minutes for them to be ready, but the pizza came out piping hot. We ended up taking it to go, driving about 20 minutes, and the pizza was still warm when we got home. I got the chef's pizza and my bf the pepperoni and we were both happy with our choices. Don't see myself going out of the way for this pizza but would definitely get it again if I'm in the area looking for some drunchies or a late night bite! read more

Serranos Pizza is one of the best establishments and, perhaps, a once best kept secret among those that lived in the Mission District throughout the late 1990s, and the early aughts (you know, before self-righteous hipsters moved in and started yet another JavaScript/CoffeeScript/TypeScript framework for the umpteenth time). The most amazing about the pizza made here is the bread, the sauce, and the cheese. Just the right amount to harken back to the almost saltless Mr. Pizza Man pie from yesteryear and with just the right amount of sweet coming from the sauce, makes for the tee up for the cheese and toppings (the pepperoni and salami are excellent). And it's perhaps why, back in the day, a friend of mine would order a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza and kept it on for a week, slowly snacking on the pie because, according to him, two slices and a simple green salad was enough for him to enjoy Serrano's pies slowly. Now if you live in the Mission District, the delivery service is impeccable: you'll find that they arrive very quickly almost within a short period of time (it's obviously proportional to how much toppings you've ordered - typical of most pizzeria delivery timings). But if you're out of the Mission District I would advise ordering ahead of time, pick up your pie, and be on your way; to wit: reheating instructions: set toaster oven or proper kitchen oven to 400°F, place a slice on aluminum paper, and set it for 5, 7 min or to taste. If you are dining in, unfortunately, you won't be able to sit outside although they still offer tables and chairs sometimes but you're going to find yourself standing when eating or sitting on a stool. This is because although the setting is comfortable in that "urban grit" manner that for anyone from, say, New York city, is going to be familiar with, it'll be unfortunate for those looking for the "casual Parisian" dining experience; I'm sorry to say, but you're not going to find it here; but despite this, it is not a negative as the pizza makes up for it in spades, I guarantee it. Overall this establishment was always one of the so-called "hole-in-the-walls" that complimented the loose constellation of cantons that pepper the Mission district that featured their own small, and unfortunately ephemeral at times, bistros of various styles of cooking that go from simple to haute with a few steps and turns of corners. The food is alright, fresh pizza with mid quality ingredients. My biggest problem is the service and pricing are never consistent. It definitely encourages me to find other places to eat even though it's only a couple of blocks away. And when I ask about it why I'm charged one price by one worker and another price by another worker they always just offer a refund letting me know they know that everyone isn't being treated the same but they'll only address it if the customer brings it up? Best pizza in the Mission! Hands down. My go to order is the lunch special, pizza slice, salad and drink. I typically order the San Franciscan slice, which has mushrooms, onions, bell pepper, pepperoni and sausage. I get it without the pepperoni. I get the ranch dressing for my salad and usually a water bottle (16oz), but if I'm feeling a little wild, I'll order a coke. The space is tiny and hot. They have about 3 or 6 seats inside, counter style, and 1 or 2 small tables with chairs on the sidewalk. I usually sit inside at the counter. The staff are straight to the point and nice. In addition to the pizza, I think I like the feel of nostalgia I get when I go with my work besties. The pizza, coke and ranch dressing take me back to the 80s and 90s when I would get pizza from Pizza and Pipes at Serramonte or Shakey's in Daly City. I never write reviews but I just thought this was unfair. I ordered an extra-large pepperoni pizza with sausage, but they gave me a combo pizza instead half of what I actually ordered, plus salami and ham. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to pick it up for delivery because I got into an accident right when the pizza arrived so my brother picked it up. When I got home I called to explain the mistake, they only offered a discount. Mind you, we had to remove most of the toppings because my family doesn't like the other toppings, so we didn't even get to enjoy the pizza as intended, since it was a combo pizza it was also filled with mushrooms which was hard to take out so we had to throw away the pizza. Mistakes happen, but the way they handled it was disappointing. I have been coming to serranos pizza since I was a little kid with no problem and always ordered from here often. Serrano's Pizza and neighboring Jay's Cheesesteaks are like your toxic cousins that like to party, they known you were drinking and want late night calories. It's a good and basic pizza shop with a magical "Serrano's red sauce". Their slices are large (basically two slices in size). This place made me love pineapple with jalapeños on my slice, if you haven't tried it yet - go now. Somethings have recently changed here and I think it's important to mention them. We are in a period of economic inflation (i.e., COVID-19 and etc.), and so is Serrano's Pizza; my pizza box now costs extra money, my classic "Serrano's red sauce" is now an up-charge also (no longer the default sauce), and their salads still don't have beans (which makes the Goathill Pizza salads superior). This place is tiny with a couple of tables inside and a couple curbside with no cover. There is also a standing bar top if you're just trying to grab a bite on the run. This place has excellent pizza, and my favorite calzones... the calzones are huge and shareable, unless you're like me and enjoy a delicious calzone with pepperoni all to myself. Sometimes you get in a weird, principled battle with service providers you love, leave them a bad review on Yelp, then come across it years later - I'm probably telling on myself more than anything here. Serrano's provides excellent quality, great delivery service, really awesome delivery folk. I've been ordering from them for over 10 years, and the last hiccup I had was they forgot to bring a salad I'd ordered a couple years ago- the delivery guy went out of his way to make sure I wasn't charged, and then came back with an extra salad on my next delivery a week later.
