Do not engage Service Champions ever!! These people are experts at cheating and overcharging. They suck you in by having you sign up for their club for a monthly fee, for lower priced services. Then they do a "free" inspection and sell you on what you may need. Some of this may be true, but the hard sell, incredibly slick salesman who magically shows up to close the deal are definitely shady. The quote I received was 2-3 times higher than all others. We had the regular plumbing check up that comes with being a member with Service Champions. I think it was only recently that they started with routine check for plumbing in these past couple of years. I was a member for 5 or 6 years and this is our first checkup. Surprisingly it was educational and we decided to change our tank water heater. It was corroded inside and the anode rod was basically a toothpick. There was so much sediment and debris from the corrosion inside the tank that even though it still worked, I wanted it replaced. Even though I didn't go with their replacement service because it feels a bit on the high side, but the service they provided was worth it. Without me requesting they e-mailed me pictures that they took before the service and things they found that's problematic. Most plumbers don't do this let alone educate you on what they are doing and what they are looking for. I would recommend most people to use their service. They come prepared, professional and wears a smile ;) read more

If you want to get ripped off, then Service Champions is the company for you. I hope my review can help save someone from using or trusting this company. Let me start by saying that we have had membership (now cancelled) with Service Champions for 4 plus years and we have always suspected that they were a little shady, but in all honesty, we were too busy to do our due diligence to get a 2nd opinion, and that is on us. (I guess that is what they are hoping for). Service Champions is super big with hard sales tactics when the technician comes out to service your air conditioning & heater, so beware. Something is always wrong, and it is always an "urgent" matter that needs to be fixed right away. And I literally mean every time they come out it is something that is wrong. We got to the point where we would wonder what Service Champions was going to try and push on us. Now I know why Service Champions calls so much to get you to schedule your appointments and it's not because they are concerned about maintaining your units. Do yourself a favor and get a 2nd opinion if Service Champions starts trying to upsell you on anything. Chances are it may not need to be done and if it does need to be done it will be much cheaper elsewhere to have repaired. It's all about hard sales. Service Champions must not care about customer retention because one of your "gullible/busy" clients is leaving and that "gullible" client will do her darndest to make sure everyone knows Service Champions for the scam that it is. This last inspection in August 2025 on our heat and air was the final straw, we needed to do our homework to find another Heating and Air Company. And we were right! Service Champions had told us our heater may be putting out carbon monoxide & if we didn't fix the problem that day, we had to sign some sort of bogus paper stating we were releasing them from any liability and told "If the gas company were to come out, they would red tag your unit". Long story short, they were lying, and it was ONE of their many scare tactics. We did need to have a part replaced, but the quote they gave vs another company was downright ridiculous. It makes me sick to think we didn't do this much sooner. I can only imagine how much money they screwed us over. In closing, pay attention to what their commercials don't say. It all about "service with a smile" and "they go above and beyond"? Tell me where in those commercials does it mention fair pricing? I bet service with a "smile" because they are screwing you/me over. On a side note, I think the technicians get paid commission. At least that is what we read on Glass Door. And after reading that it now makes perfect sense. Next step is contacting the BBB. And please save your canned response to this review. If you are "concerned", you can contact us. None of this bs where you can't locate our account like has been stated in almost all the other canned responses. read more

RUN !!! A 20 year furnace/A/C customer who also bought their $20 monthly maintenance plan knowing l would need new units soon. Not only did I NOT get a break in price on replacement they charged $20,000 just for a furnace that maybe cost $8,000. They gave no specs on the contract only the word Gold. I was in shock that my furnace was still working well and suddenly when being serviced needed to be replaced. Uneasy about this high dollar amount I called around and have found that ALL of their service people are on commission, NOT bonded & could be criminals. Their price gouging is criminal to a repeat customer. Happy I caught this price gouging before my 3day cancellation window!! No surprise they tried to install it 2days later before I shopped around. I called them twice. The first time to install a shower head. The said they needed to replace the diverter as well so they had to come back. They said the couldn't use the one I bought because they only did Moen. I told them I wanted the kind with a hose but they returned with a standard one. I was in a hurry so I let them install it and I changed it myself later. The second time I wanted a kitchen sink faucet and a bar faucet replaced. I bought both faucets. They said they needed to replace a pipe in the bar. That was fine but they wouldn't replace the kitchen faucet. They said they had to do both at the same time so I didn't have a kitchen sink for another week while I waited for them to come back. The next time I called DeVinney Plumbing and they fixed my disposal in one visit. I will never call Sevice Champions again. I don't understand why everything takes two visits. read more

I called Service Champions to take a look at our AC that suddenly stopped working. It was one of several quotes I got and they immediately tried to sell me a new system and told me that was the best route. I called in one more company because I wanted several opinions before having to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a new system. The last company I called said it just needed a replacement part and they fixed it within an hour for me for a few hundred dollars and works just as new. Be careful when having people check out your broken systems, a lot of companies will just try to sell you a new system to make a profit. I wish there was a way to give 0 stars. I terminated my monthly membership with them last month they are money hungry scammers they make things up to upsell you at any cost to make their commission. I was slammed with a 26 thousand dollar job for insulation and duct work that I've been quoted other places for way less. They coerced me to do that installment agreement under my wife's name even though she wasn't present at the point of sale. They told me I needed a new unit last month my new rep fixed a wire and I my AC has been running great since. A plumber of theirs came out last year and told me I'm needed new pipes replaced under my sink I declined that job and a real plumber came unclogged it the next day I haven't had an issue since and I didn't replace any pipes. Seth showed up for our morning service appointment within the time window i was given. He gave me a description of the maintenance he was performing and the timeframe involved. Seth was very friendly and explained some of the issues he found with my unit and gave me several options on how to solve them. My dog's shed a lot and he recommended a higher MERV rated filter to catch more of the dust and dander that clogged the filter. Also gave me other upgrade options to consider. Miguel Mendez provided excellent service and was very professional and friendly. He checked all showers, tubs, sinks, toilets to make sure he didn't have to service the bathrooms that didn't require it - which was great because I thought all bathrooms needed to be serviced, but only two needed it. So, I wasn't over charged. After the work was done, he showed me what he did and tested the drains out in front of me. My Aunt who is 98 years old has had a monthly service contract with this company for over 10 years. They were the only people she would use for plumbing and a/c work. They are very responsive and she thought they were doing good work, but recently our contractor was under the crawlspace and he discovered several leaks. The photo pictured is the pipe in the furthest corner of the house. The Service Champion tech used a strip of DUCT TAPE to fix the leak and charged her a bundle of money that they claim was at a discounted rate! They knew the chances of anyone crawling down there checking out the pipes would be slim. We had also called Service Champion to move our thermostat because the original technician of same company placed the thermostat in the worst location in the house!! The technician that came out saw that we were having a remodel done and blamed our contractor! He then recommended a new a/c and attempted to create a really immediate sense of urgency to replace it. We called a secondary company, and they said the unit was in good condition. In spite of the changes to Code regarding older a/c units, it was not something we needed to be concerned about as the Service Champion tech claimed. We also did not appreciate the "bully" tactics. While it was done with a smiling face and a "I'm concerned about your well-being" attitude, we sensed something was not right. I can only imagine how much money they have hard-nosed out of my elderly Aunt over the years. I have the $50k+ worth of canceled checks to prove it! Don't trust these folks!! They target the elderly and the recluse with their fake concern and only wanting to help you--"Do you need anything done around the house" "Can I take out the trash for you?" They try to gain your trust, then fleece you for as much money as they think they can get. Do you want to do business with a company and employees that have no conscience? The choice is yours. The inspection done was a real waste of time for us and items they said were needed we had to schedule a tech to do them, on another date and time! Tech comes out and is condensing and I felt I was not being talked to professionally! In fact it was I see no problem and if you want to pay for upgrades, just not a feeling of lets get in and do the work! The inspector changed our pressure regulator and ask to change it back and told you need to buy a new one, it just felt like a big sales grab than desire to provide service. I bought a house may of 2021. Since I bought it, I've never reached out to service champions, but I get 1-2 letters/month trying to sell me AC. At first, I tossed them. They got to be too regular, so I reached out and asked them to remove me from the mailing list. Still got them. RTSd (return to sender) them, still getting the mail. Quit wasting paper, Leland. Heating, AC, and good deeds for free? How about you do the good deed of saving a tree and taking the hint when asked to quit mailing people? Wouldn't it be a delight to get an estimate on paper before a big project is started? Similar to a car repair estimate. Email is not a paper trail for your projects. Estimates on 8x10 to compare quotes is how I do business. How hard could it be to have receipts given to those of us that request one in advance? Show some Grace, if you please! Service Champions uses IPads you sign with only a monetary figure without explanations. Not everyone can see lightly colored and tiny emails they send. Not all of us have home offices. Acknowledge and work with our differences. Very disappointed after waiting for an appointment and rearranging my schedule. The company makes it easy for them, not the customer. Boomer age customers are the ones repairing their 30 plus aged homes now. Boomers have the money. They wisely put savings aside for years. How about some respect? Young couples and single again folks are often struggling. Treat customers like you want to be treated. Saying, "that's the way it is", will not keep customers. Service Champions are our heroes! They helped us at a time when we were in Dire Straits and needed a plumbing repair that we couldn't afford. My elderly mother is 88 years old and suddenly stopped checking the mail and reading the bills because she was on automatic payments with Fontana water. She's always been on top of things. I'm her only daughter, but it was a hard way to find out that things were shifting. She also apparently wasn't looking at her bank account and a host of other things as perhaps old age is setting in, but, the water bill started going up from $65-$75 a month and jumped to $200 a month. This went on for a couple months and she never noticed it or advised me. So finally she gets a bill that's maybe in a red or pink envelope and she opens it and realizes that her bill is over $1054.00! I realize that a jump spike that means there's probably a leak! She says no, says there's nothing leaking on the property, but we call Fontana water company and they tell us we need to get this thing fixed immediately and then they will consider reducing the bill at least a little bit to help us as a one time courtesy. That's where Service Champions comes to the rescue. My elderly mother is on a fixed income, and we don't have much money. Once they had someone come over and look at where the leak(s) could be coming from, they ascertained we had a running toilet and also a leak in the shower. The work was going to cost like $2600 or so which we didn't have, but because my mom's been on the membership of Service Champions for like 20+ years, they gave us a big discount to try to help out,..cut it down to like half the price. We didn't have that either on any credit cards, but they offered to get us a little loan tp cover it, but my mom's credit has gotten so bad that she couldn't qualify for the money to let us do it on payments. She doesn't have enough room on any other credit cards as they've all been mostly closed so that she could pay them down. I've been paying for half of her food and groceries and helping with the cats food too for the past eight months, and the strain is pushing me to the edge now, as I myself am out of savings and br too. So, we knew we couldn't do anything to fix these leaks. Thats when a kind Supervisor named Dakota stepped up to the plate and made a miracle happen. When he had to come back and tell us that we weren't approved, my mother and I were both on the phone and kind of froze and we were so worried because we didn't know what we were gonna do. But Dakota just said please hold on for a few minutes, I'll be right back. We held for a few minutes and when he came back, he told us that he had the power to get approval to make an exception that we've never heard of anybody making anywhere before. He told us that Service Champions is going to make a 1 time exception and they're going to do the repairs, so there's no more damage and we can stop our water bill from running out the sky since it's already over $1000, and they said that they wouldn't charge us for those two things that needed to be repaired, the leaking running toilet and the leak in the shower. He said they would be there within two days to do the repair for no charge. My mother and I almost fell into tears. We thanked him and thanked him,...we couldn't believe that anybody would be so nice as to care about our dilemma. We didn't ask for this. He just recognized the need and took care of it because we were in so much trouble. Two days later, he sent his technician. As fate would have it, when the nice plumber technician was tightening a bolt on the toilet to try to stop a little leak around the bottom, it cracked and so they had to replace it for us too. Our toilet is extra small, only 10 inches instead of 12 at the base, so they had to search a little to find something, but they did. That night they replaced the toilet after running to Home Depot and again, they didn't charge us for any of this. We are pretty sure that the supervisor that works there named Dakota must have angelic properties. We've never had anybody do anything so empathetic for us that we can ever remember in our lives. My mom said the toilet doesn't run anymore, has no leaks around it and is flushing wonderfully. The plumbing technician they sent out also completed the work in the shower and stopped the leak that was there, like a little stream running down. After they completed it, they ran the pressure test on the plumbing to make sure that at least there were no other major leaks. Thank you for your help in saving our house, Service Champions! I have received notices from Service Champions, Plumbing, Heating, and AC (Champions) for several years and ignored all. This year, I decided to give them a call to provide maintenance service to my ACs (2). AC maintenance people come over before, and what they did, at best, was a cursory review of the AC system. Fabian Gonzales came to my house from Champions. Fabian is very attentive and professional. He was thorough in his explanation of what the service would entail and was thorough in his explanation of findings after the service was completed. I was, particularly, happy with his explanation on the condition of the capacitor for each system and their performance parameters. The capacitors will stop your system from working if they are faulty. Fabian reassured me with his explanations. I am glad to make the decision to call Champions. read more

My initial serviceman was Miguel Mendez, who was extremely competent and friendly. He thoroughly inspected the plumbing in and under my home. The only active leak he discovered was a leaking toilet tank rubber washer, which caused the tank to refill about every hour or so. He replaced the washer and the entire toilet works perfectly and has stopped leaking. During the thorough inspection conducted by Miguel, he took photos of all the supply lines running into and around my mobile home. My home is 48 years old. I have completely renovated the interior, but the plumbing lines were OK to service my new appliances. Miguel took dozens of photos, showing the corrosion threatening my plumbing joints. He made a call to the Plumbing Channel Manager, Sergio Flores. Sergio came out to my house and introduced himself. I guess Miguel anticipated a rather hefty service quotation to, basically, replumb my entire house. I don't disagree that my supply lines are 48 years old, but they are not currently leaking...they are just showing where leaks are likely to develop. I discussed the large plumbing job with Sergio while Miguel repaired the leaky toilet tank. It is going to require me to obtain some financing to underwrite the replumbing job, so I will call Service Champions back out in a few months when I'm ready. I will start by saying that I've seen the Service Champions ads for years. I recently remodeled my house, so I thought to myself let me get their furnace tune up for $77.00. That was a special they were running. I have what's called a rooftop package unit that has a gas furnace and A//C combined. I'm a real estate broker by trade and thought to myself if this works out well, I will know that I could recommend them to my clients. Didn't turn out as I hoped it would. Let say that everyone that I spoke with at the company were very polite and professional. However, upon checking my rooftop unit, the technician reported back to me that the unit was basically on it lasts legs. That immediately resonated with my fear of ordering preventive maintenance and being told bad news, even though my unit has been working fine. The technician notified me that their policy is when they discover the condition of unit on its last legs, they must have a Supervisor come by. The technician showed me a picture of the internal coil for the A/C, which clearly showed that the coil needed cleaning. The technician advised me that to clean the internal coil, they would charge $1,300 to do that!! Well certainly if the unit is on its last legs , it doesn't make sense to spend $1,300 on it. The Supervisor stopped by went on the roof and reported back to me that he agrees that the unit is on its last leg and recommend I sign up for their maintenance service. I signed up for the maintenance service at that point. The technician went back on the roof and reported back that he connect his gauges and detected a leak in the A/C united and the amperage was fine. A leak, more good news. When he was done with the job, I asked if they filled any missing refrigerant as part of the maintenance and he said no. So, I thought to myself what benefit do I get the from the maintenance service, if all they do is tell me what is wrong with my unit and hose off the external coil only. So, the following day I called the company back to cancel the preventive maintenance service. But, an answering service answered. So, I called again today to cancel the service. I asked them not to automatically bill me moving forward, which was required for signing up. My $77 deal ended up being $263 and change. I asked the company if they would apply any credit since I ordered the service last Thursday, called Friday to cancel, got an answering service, so called back today, Monday. I thought perhaps they would issue some credit since they canceled the service effective immediately. The gentleman I spoke with put me on hold to ask a supervisor. He returned to the line to tell me his Supervisor said there would be no credit. I can't imagine that the work the technician did at my house last Thursday was valued at the entire amount of a maintenance contract for a year. Sufficed to say, I expected to pay more than the $77 deal I signed up for, but not $263 for a year long contract that I will not be getting the benefit of. I want to reiterate that everyone at the company is very polite and professional, including the technician. However, I don't believe this is a fair resolution and won't be recommending them to my clients. I will consider the amount I paid for the service contract as tuition for me to learn not to immediately react to a recommendation from a field supervisor. I also think that the quote to clean the internal coil for $1,300 is absurd. There are special brushes and even sprays that clean that kind of coil. They are available on Amazon and Home Depot. If you buy both the brush and the spray, it's less than $50. I can't imaging the labor to do the work is valued at $1,250. I had high hopes for Service Champions. I'm disappointed. read more
