Absolute crooks! They quoted us $50k to replace our A/C and HVAC units on our two 2 story home, whereas other companies quoted us $10k-$16k for exact or similar models! Out of the 4 companies we consulted with, Service Champions was not only the most outrageously expensive, they're also the *only* company that told us that our ductwork was completely shot. All the other companies inspected the ductwork in the attic and said that our ductwork is fine. Replacing all the ductwork added an additional $7k to the Service Champion's estimate. It all started last year when Service Champions suggested we get a tune-up on our 30-year-old Trane HVAC/furnace. They took everything apart and put it back together. They also took the liberty of placing their company stickers on the outside of our HVAC. These stickers have scare tactic language on them, like "Warning! Do not open equipment! You may void an existing warranty." (See pic). Well, how are we supposed to replace the air filter if we're not supposed to open the unit? (Later, while getting other bids to replace the unit, other sales associates commented on how Service Champions should never have left a bunch of loose wires sitting directly on top of the air filter - see pic.) 2 months later our furnace motor suddenly burned out. We've NEVER had any problems with our HVAC unit ever until Service Champions took it apart and put it back together. They recommended we replace the motor for $600, so we bought a new HVAC motor from them. Then several months later we noticed water leaking from the HVAC unit, despite the new motor they installed. So we had them come out to get an estimate to replace both the a/c and HVAC units, since they were original units from when the house was built. But here's the thing, if you're in need for estimates for a new a/c or HVAC unit, do NOT fall for Service Champion's Dog and Pony show. This is where the tech comes out but then says he needs to come back-- but next time bring his supervisor. This is their classic bait-and-switch sales funnel tactic they use, where they team up on you, (or in this case, my elderly mom who's a widow), and tell you about everything wrong with your units. The tech will "inspect" your coil, compressor, etc., and declare that they're "unsafe" and/or "in disrepair," only for his supervisor standing there to nod and confirm all the lies the tech spits out. Not only will they team up on you, they'll insist they inspect every single room in your house so that you feel they're being thorough and considerate. Towards the end of their inspection, I was in the other room while I listened to West and his sidekick chat up my elderly mom, buttering her up with small talk--so blatantly obviously trying to get on her good side. They do this so that when they drop their outrageous bomb of a price tag on you it (hopefully) won't sting as bad. The pathetic thing about West and his sidekick is that he didn't even have the guts to say the actual $50k number out loud. Why? Because deep down they know that number is outrageously inflated and that it's morally wrong to try to rip people off like this. Luckily for my mom she changed her tune and spoke up, telling West that she had sticker shock. Their instant excuse is that this high price reflects the top-of-the-line equipment. They go on by saying that everything in the proposal is fully customizable and that you don't have to go with the quietest, most expensive unit or add on the additional air purifier, etc. But instead of saying their outrageous number out loud, Service Champions will shove their laptop in front of you so that you see their lousy proposal and read off the breakdown of the outrageous numbers yourself. These men have ZERO morale and no backbone. To further prove Service Champions is an unethical and deceptive company, they did some plumbing on the house a year ago. My mom had signed up for their monthly program to get discounted rates on plumbing services. You pay Service Champions a monthly flat fee of $20.00 and you get discounted rates on future plumbing services. Well a Service Champion plumber installed what's called an accordion slip-joint tailpiece for the guest bathroom drain. Slowly but surely we've noticed bad smells coming from that bathroom. I hired a *real* plumber to come out last month and install a new faucet for the same bathroom. He took one look at the pipes underneath the sink and said that he'd have to re-do everything and that those cheap accordion slip-joint parts that Service Champion put on should *never* be used because bacteria and mold collect in all those little accordion folds within the plastic. Not only that, but this other plumber explained how sewer gas was pooling and coming up through the drain pipes, which explains why the guest bathroom started having a bad smell to it. For replacing our units, we went with Air Care. They install Trane products, which are top rated. read more

Sadly I am forced to provide one star when this company deserves NO STARS. Service Tech was at my home yesterday-18 point inspection for $88.00. I thought cool bought my home six months A/C works great-$88.00 to have my furnace inspected terrific. Of course I expected the up-sell of the maintenance package blah blah blah. Tech cleaned the blower provided recommendations. I explained multiple times any further work or contracts would have to be approved by my husband who was not present during the inspection. Email the information for his review please. Email any photos-service tech was on-board big time!! Received the email with estimates, no pictures. My email response requested the photos and the service tech to contact my husband allow him to ask his 101 questions. NOPE! NOTHING! Zero response. No need to use my heater last night-the night of the service call. But, Thursday night yup it was cold and the rain made it colder. Turned on the thermostat ready for heat-NOPE! NOTHING!! ZERO HEAT! Furnace does cycle, turn on but now makes a noise it wasn't making prior to the service techs visit. Thank you Service Champions for the fine service of breaking my terrifically work furnace!! I commend these guys for being prompt and on-time, had them out to give me an estimate for a New AC. Steven quoted me 26k, which they were the 5th ones out. Goettl came out 14k, Costco came out 16k, service champions came out 26k. I spoke to steve, i own 2 condos in this complex. And said i can do both with Goettl for the price of 1 unit. He said, send me the quote and ill work on it. They came back with a total of 19k.....on what planet can you sleep at night that you can take 6 grand+ right off the top? I am so impressed by the quality of the service by Service Champions! I had used them once, years ago, so when I saw their ad for an air conditioning tune up, I quickly called them. Ray Elliott had told me that it would take about 90 minutes. I watched as he thoroughly took apart various aspects of the condenser and the a/c unit itself. He cleaned and inspected each area, and he took photos to show me the before and after. I also requested service for my duct system, and was very please with the excellent work by Brandon Bobe and Dylan Branum. They were hauling mountains of ducts, insulation, and parts back and forth from my attic, yet they never left a spot of dirt or mess. They even vacuumed up thoroughly when they had finished. Their monthly program is a total waste of money. My wife and I have been a part of their "rewards" program ($240 a year) since 2021, shortly after we had a new HVAC system installed in our home. We just had a part fail on the heating unit installed in 2021. They wanted $360 to fix it and it's been weeks; the replacement part was broken too. A neighbor recommended calling another company. We had that company come right out next day and fix the unit for $225 on the first try. The "rewards bank" is also a gimmick with little to no actual value. Shop around; every one of their services is way more expensive than other qualified contractors so the "bank" / discount concept is just a ploy to keep you throwing good money after bad. Let me start out by saying Anthony and Luke are absolutely amazing!! Started my day with Anthony and he was very detailed and informative upon him servicing my system. I knew my system was on the older side so I too knew there were going to be some expenses for this visit...Anthony was super helpful and detailed when he explained my system to me and what's going on. He along the way was laying out options that worked for me, which put some of my worries to ease on how this was going to work for my budget and future plans for my home. We got further along and his manager Luke came through and nearly went over as much as Anthony did. Let me tell you how this company operates. I receive a random letter advertising their services. I've never hired them. I brush it off. I continue receiving letters. I call and ask them to remove me from their list. They assure me I'm removed. A month later, another letter. I call again and they assure me it's now resolved. Letters keep coming. Finally, I post a review in Sept. '21 and the owner reaches out and says he will take care of the issue. So I remove the post out of appreciation. NOW HERE WE ARE a few months later with another letter AND the owner is ignoring my request for assistance (see attachment). If you like businesses that say they completed the job but haven't done anything and are happy ignoring your concerns then this is the company for you! I've had mainly positive experiences with this company who has so far only come out to do inspections on my furnace, A/C and plumbing. They did sell me a part known as a compressor saver which they quoted me over $600 at first, then enticed me into joining their service contract by offering it for about $200 less. The tech showed me how high my cranking amps were and after doing some research after it was installed, it definitely seemed like a good idea to have it. Unfortunately, when I looked up the part online, the actual cost was about $30, meaning they marked it up about 1500%. It took about 5 minutes to screw in so lesson learned, never buy anything without doing the research first. The main problem I'm having is with what their tech estimated for me that a new HVAC system would cost, probably around $25,000. I know prices have gone up but that seemed insane to me. Recently, the two neighbors directly next to me had their systems go out on the same day. Neither needed their heater replaced, but the entire rest of the system was replaced for $6,500 and $7,000 respectively. I asked each of them and they said the entire system could cost maybe a few thousand more, depending on the system I chose. So in other words, probably at most less than $10,000. That did it for me. I really like Service Champions, their people are very friendly and knowledgeable, but I'd like to deal with a company that isn't just going to service my equipment but be able to replace it when the time comes. I just received a renewal notice for my service agreement but I think I'm going to go with a company I know can replace my system for a reasonable price. read more

Great experience yesterday, 11/21, with having our HVAC unit being serviced. It was thoroughly cleaned/flushed out and our service technician, Andrew M., was absolutely professional and friendly. He was also very transparent showing us what he did along the way -- very impressive. They were running a special, with an ad that we saw on TV on evening, and thought, "Let's try them out since we didn't have a great experience with the last HVAC & Plumbing outfit." So glad that we did! Additionally, we signed up for the Champion annual service package. I called on Monday (7/8/2024) to have someone come out to give me an estimate to replace HVAC or heat pump unit on my house. The customer service (CS) representative and I agreed to have a technician come over on Saturday (7/13/2024) between 9 am - 11 am. The CS then took my personal information, including home address and telephone number, and explained that someone would call me appropriately 20 min before arriving to confirm that I would be home. What do you know? Today is Saturday, and I have not received any call, text, or any correspondence from the business. Big shot out to, Chris Pivaral, the technician who was scheduled to come out to repair our air conditioning not blowing cold. Mr. pivaral was great, he is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. He acknowledged our concern and immediately went to inspect /test our furnace and found sign of oil seeping around the TXV line with low refrigerant but no actual leaks was found. At this time he requested additional assistance from the warranty team to further diagnose the leaks immediately due to a complaint previously made multiple times. Mr. Pivaral ensure that during his visit our family were not left alone without A/C so he was able to temporary get us up and running at no charge. Now my A/C is back to blowing cold at approx. 56 degrees until further repair is needed. Thank you, for going above and beyond to providing excellent service! read more

I had an issue with my heater not working sporadically and I was told it was best to troubleshoot the problem when it actually stopped working. Sure enough, the heater stopped working when we got back from a short overnight trip. I called Service Champions the next morning as soon as they opened and they were able to schedule me in the same day. Then they called me to say they could come sooner and as soon as they told me that, the heater started working again. So when Ryan came he couldn't find a problem with it but still tested the system a few times to make sure we had heat. I wasn't even charged a fee for him to come out, which is standard for any professional service technician to come over, since the heater mysteriously started working on its own.
