Thank you fellow Yelpers - your ratings reflect the great food, ambiance and service of this place. First it is very inviting - you get greeted then as you skim through you see live plants: by the windows, pothos plants hanging from the ceiling and of course check out their patio _ wildflower heaven! The variety of their menu items - all fresh, all great takes of faves, vegan with options for us carnivores as well. And they have weekly specials all so good. Being my first time I went with their most popular: breakfast bowl. Definitely unilaterally delicious! On weekdays, it's semi self-service. You're given water, menu, utensils at the table, then you go to cashier/front reception to place and pay for your order My eye saw their smoothies. Their mimosas....will definitely come back with my hubby...!

I stopped by this spot during my road trip and was so glad I did. I had a watermelon ginger mimosa, fig & goat cheese toast, and an avocado bacon salad -- and wow, everything was absolutely perfect. The flavors were fresh, balanced, and clearly made with care. You can tell the focus is on food that's not only delicious, but also genuinely nourishing. Service-wise, it looked like they might've been a bit short-staffed, but the person working handled it all with so much grace and professionalism. I'd honestly be overwhelmed in that situation, but he pulled it off and made sure everyone was taken care of -- props to him! I did feel like a couple of the customer vibes were off, but that's not something the restaurant can control. What does matter is the food -- and it was amazing. I'm actually tempted to order more, but I have too many other places to try on this trip. If you're looking for healthy food that doesn't compromise on flavor, this place is a must-visit.

Wow! Great food and service! I will definitely be coming back. I tried the breakfast burrito with thicc bacon and it was so flavorful! The place was decorated nicely with plants all over. Highly recommend!

Excellent restaurant for breakfast or brunch. Food was fresh and delicious. Their smoothies were made to perfection. I've only been to this establishment once but I will be back several more times. During the week the week you order at the counter and pick your seat, on the weekends they provide full table side service. Service and speed of receiving food was excellent. The decor within the restaurant was lively, with fresh plants and color. They also have outdoor seating available.

Another delicious and vegan-friendly brunch spot for the books! Our party of 4 was seated within 20 minutes on a busy Sunday. I'd never seen tempeh on a menu before (and I'm from the west coast)! I would say things leaned salty, but otherwise very fresh and tasty. The service was excellent.

Sessions is a solid favorite of ours. One of the owners, Kevin, is also a DJ and always has the vibe set right to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or a Sunday Funday brunch. When you order your food, you choose which musical artist you want for your "table number". We chose Prince last time. All the menu item names are also hip hop themed phrases. You can taste the love in the menu items crafted by the other owner, Priscilla. We've tried several items on the menu but our returners: Hot Boi - this wrap has a habanero crema sauce and it packs heat Breakfast Fried Rice - we usually get this as a side to share Breakfast Burrito - this has the most unique flavors The Baglette - first time I've had this type of dish where the omelet is cooked in the bagle and it was beautifullly done, I do recommend adding bacon or sausage to this Chicken Salad Sandwich - I am picky with chicken salad and this is one of my favorite Homemade hot sauce - this isn't a menu item per say but deserves its own line, we purchase a bottle to take home everytime *Most dishes come with fresh greens and homeade dressing. Great for digestion The mimosas are exceptionally refreshing made with fresh pressed juice. They also have a variety of canned cocktails, coffees, teas, and smoothies.

Awesome spot. Location threw me for a loop. It's located in a strip mall and from the outside, it doesn't look like it would be trendy and cute, however they worked with that space and really made it great. Tons of greenery, indoor and outdoor dining, and cute decor. We came on a Sunday for brunch around 12 and it was busy. We were able to snag a table, but the line to order was very long. Our purpose for this meal was to enjoy great food while also getting some work done. This was the perfect place. Wifi worked super well and it's just private/quiet enough. Drinks; we both got the mimosa flight. The carrot mimosa was surprisingly delicious. The others were average. Food; we shared the breakfast sandwich with thicc bacon and the breakfast burrito with sausage. Both delicious. They have tons of gluten free and dairy free options, which is a huge plus. We didn't take advantage this time since they were out of gluten free tortillas, but will next time. Pricing was high. We spent close to $80 for 2 people having a casual meal. That's the only thing that would hold me back from coming regularly.

Session is truly a hidden gem. The space is a whole vibe. When it's not busy it's a nice atmosphere to get some work done. The food was delicious, fresh, and high quality. The service was attentive. I will absolutely be back.

Spectacular. Order at the front desk, then retire to the back flower garden with a marker with the photo of a rock and roll great. Amazing food to our party of three-- I had the veggie bahn mi. For desert we shared a brownie with a lovely gooey center. Plan to return within the month. read more

Good brunch place with unique flavor! I had the breakfast burritos and it had a very unique taste but it does have radishes in it so if your not a fan I would ask for it without. The chicken salad was very good and I suggest getting it on sourdough because it's amazingggg.The outside patio is very cute and it has a great atmosphere and the employees are all very helpful. Definitely suggest going here if you want good Breakfast/Lunch spot! read more

i wish i could give 10 stars. each time i come is better than the last. i brought my mom and sister this time and am converting them to session addicts. there's vegan and vegetarian and gluten free options, the owners are super friendly and chatty and knowledgeable about everything. they also have a rewards system that is pretty epic. theres no excuse for session to not be in your life. read more

So many great things to say about Session. crazy thankful for the fact that almost everything can be made vegan. The flavors are off the chain & everything is made from scratch & full of love. One of those rare reviews where the dining experience really exceeded expectations. Flavorful food, top-notch service, and a great ambiance to boot. I ordered the veggie Banh Mi with tempeh bacon, and as someone who eats meat, I didn't miss 'real meat' at all. Food quality is good and the portions are small, which is not a problem for me as I find that most places serve low quality large portions; I prefer quality over quantity. However, I ordered the avocado toast and the portion size was ridiculously small. The toast was extremely thin, maybe 1/4 of inch thick an 1/4 of an avocado very thinly sliced on top, four very thin slices of raw radish and four slivers of raw carrot (like you get when using a potato peeler) If I had my phone I would have taken a photo; it was seriously an insult for $12. I have never complained about small portions size before because I'm a small person with a small appetite, but I went home and cooked breakfast after eating there since the toast couldn't have even been considered a appetizer I'm my opinion. This should be taken off the menu, I can't imagine anyone would be happy with this order. read more

cuppa words: vegan brunch options on shore dr. !!! but actually a lot more words because i love this place. the owners are excellent, the staff is always lovely, and they provide clear descriptions of their vegan dishes!!! i love that when my non vegan family comes to town we can grab breakfast and all of us have something to enjoy. whether you're vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or a carnivorous monster, session has something for you. esp if you like to talk music/movie/pop culture, you'll love it here. i've been coming here since they opened in 2021 and seeing them thrive through a global pandemic as a small business (to me) shows what they're capable of. ps try the CREAM smoothie and breakfast fried rice and thank me later read more

Found Session via Yelp app after hiking trails at First Landing State Park. We were looking for something other than fast food that was close by. What a delight! I had the Breakfast Fried Rice and my husband had the Avocado Toast with an added fried egg. Both entrees were delicious! Food was fresh, tasty and served in portions sizes that are just perfect. Food was delicious. Service was friendly and fairly quick (order at the counter and they bring to your table). Ambiance is nice and the themed smoothies and table numbers were fun. We tried the breakfast fried rice and the mushroom sandwich. Both were delicious. My boyfriend also loved the coffee and chocolate smoothie. So I never write reviews for places (good or bad), but I decided to for Session. Once I walked in, my girlfriend and I were greeted by Kevin, who, at the time, I didn't know was the owner. He was extremely welcoming, very interpersonal and you could tell he was just an all around good dude. He made it feel like we knew him for years. I got a Hot Boi and a C.R.E.A.M. smoothie, and my girlfriend got The Nancy and a smoothie as well. The food was amazing and the guys working there were just awesome and friendly. I made sure to tell Kevin how pleased I was with the place and that I would be coming back. You always want good people who take a chance with a restaurant/company to do well. Walked in to inquire about the menu, hours of operation etc. Was quite enthusiastic about having just discovered their location. Quite surprised to find the woman owner not warm & friendly. The food service business is entirely based on guest relations so it was immediately off putting to be spoken to in a way that came across that she is frustrated working there and really has no interest in the guest relations side of owning a cafe business. Today my daughter, her 3 friends and I tried Session for the first time. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! The casual atmosphere was great, Nathan greeting you when you first come in, Cella on top of everything giving excellent service with a smile. No complaints. The food? FRESH AND DELICIOUS! SCRUMPTIOUS! Our table had The Nancy, Lox & Bagel, Strawberries & Cream French Toast and a Chicken Caes'. I had a bite of each and they were equally yummy. Honestly can't wait to go again. Great food and even better Vibes! Got the Money Green Couch smoothie and got The Nancy and Breakfast Fried Rice to go for one for lunch and one for dinner.... I ended up eating it all for lunch it was so good! Great relaxing vibes throughout the restaurant starting with the super nice staff and welcoming interior with great music and a nice back patio area. Will definitely be coming back, these are what great local restaurants should be like! read more

Variety of food, bold flavors! This little hidden joint offers a variety of enticing menu items with a low key, bohemian vibe. Menu offers many choices, but seems to focus on healthier options... which is perfect if you're looking for a nice breakfast or lunch to start the day! I wish they had an expanded coffee menu- self serve stations aren't my favorite but could be great for those who prefer to mix to their liking. It was clean, friendly, and provided a welcoming vibe. My favorite spot for lunch or breakfast! Absolutely addicted to their chicken salad - super light and flavorful. They have taken eating healthy to a whole new level without skimming on flavor, vibe, or variety. The atmosphere, music, staff, and garden patio are all unmatched. Highly recommend the mimosa flight with fresh squeezed juice, the Chicken Caes', the brekky fried rice with house made turkey sausage (so frikkin good!), and quite literally all of their smoothies. We were really excited to try Session based on a friend's recommendation and the positive Yelp reviews. Session is a great concept and has some terrific menu options. The service at 10 on a Sunday needs some work. Our order was forgotten so the two people we dined with got their drinks and food, but we didn't. When we did get our food, half of the order was wrong. I hope they can get this squared away and compete with the Shore Drive brunch options. read more

We first ordered a Bloody Mary and a beer to start our evening, along with crab dip with pita points (more than we could handle) and, finally, the Steamed Seashore Platter, which included 12 oysters, 12 clams, one pound of shrimp and two crab leg clusters. It was delicious and more than we could handle, so we took what was left back to our hotel room. The Back Deck crowd was friendly, resulting in an enjoyable dining experience. Great attitude, attentive, and things actually came out in a timely manner. Love to see it. I ordered a mojito and they did not play in my face. Made it properly with club soda instead of Sprite, so points were definitely earned there. Now... the food? Yeah, we need to talk. We ordered the brunch special, oxtails with biscuits and gravy. First of all, I'm almost positive that was pot roast in an oxtail costume. Let's start there. The biscuits? Giving frozen-from-a-bag, baked a little too long for good measure. But the real villain of the plate was that gravy. Because what do you mean this clearly didn't come from the meat? It tasted like it came straight out of a jar... probably store brand at that. And I'm just confused because gravy is literally one of the easiest things to make if you already cooked the meat. Why are we cutting corners here? So yes, we were seated quickly, treated well, and the drinks were solid. But the food? Absolutely not. If you're coming here hungry and expecting a good meal (which I was), please eat before you arrive. If you're coming for drinks, music, and a good vibe, then you'll have a great time.

The staff was incredibly friendly from the start, and it really made the whole experience even better. I was in and out quickly, which is key for a fast-casual spot (especially right after a gym session). There are so many healthy, creative options on the menu, it was almost hard to choose. Protein, smoothies, breakfast bowls, sandwiches... basically everything you'd want when you want something tasty but not heavy. I'd heard about their smoothies and decided to order takeout through their Yelp page, which was super easy and convenient. I went with the C.R.E.A.M smoothie (banana, cocoa powder, vanilla, house cold brew, peanut butter, vanilla oat milk, and I added chocolate protein). Let me tell you ... it was incredible. The blend of coffee, peanut butter, and cocoa hit all the right notes. Totally feels like a treat, but packed with good stuff. I honestly can't stop thinking about it and will 100% be back for another! Next time, I've got my eye on their breakfast fried rice and the breakfast classic sandwich. In my opinion, this is one of the finest restaurants in all of Virginia Beach. The food is consistently outstanding, and the service is always attentive and professional.
