I'm new to this place. I've only been twice, and both times I had the steak salad. It's amazing!!! Can't wait to try other items.

Pretty cool place with pretty good food. Although the inside of the restaurant was quite loud, it was pretty enjoyable to eat there. For an appetizer I ordered some soft pretzels with chili con queso sauce, and they were hard to put down! When I finally got my burger, it wasn't bad, but it did taste a little burnt. Another problem was that I ordered tater tots, but instead received fries. Not too big of a complaint there, but thought it might be useful to mention. Lastly, the service was nice, and the waiters were very cooperative and easy to talk to. Overall, a place I would really recommend. read more

Parking was brutal but I guess that isn't the fault of the biz. I heard the burgers were good from my friends. Unfortunately, my burger meat was dry and not very flavorful. The bun was soggy from the grease, yuck. The server didn't seem very attentive. I kept trying to make eye contact but nope. They did have a bit of a rush though. For the high prices I'll probably take my money elsewhere for burgers. read more

We heard this place had good food. Our server took forever as she was handling a large party. Eventually, she greeted us and took our drink order. Again I saw her dealing with her big party as we waited and waited for our drinks. Finally, our drinks came and then she disappeared for a long time. Visiting from out of town and found this place just driving by today. Very nice place, good service and good food. I had the BBQ chicken salad,my husband and son had hamburgers. My other kids had the cheese pizza and chicken tenders. After arriving back to our hotel 20 minutes later we all had stomach and intestinal issues. Finally got my drink just for it to be spilt because the table was unstable and I wanted to clean it up since I felt embarrassed, So I asked for help from the staff just to get told by the owner that it's my fault my beer spilt when really I just wanted it cleaned up so my arms didn't get wet. I do have to say they have done a compete 180 and have fired the one terrible staff member I had originally posted about. I do recommend going in and enjoying a tequila pineapple with casa dragones! (They know how to now!) Kevin really went out of his way to make sure sets was really showing who they truly are and won me over! Horrible! The only reason they're getting 1 star is because zero doesn't exist. They're service is horrible and the food is subpar. Appetizers were brought to the table with no small plates, which is disgusting because I don't desire to eat over shared plates. I asked for small plates and they did not come for 15 minutes. By the time that happened, my food was cold, so instead of making a spectacle, I decided to close out and leave. I will not return. read more

Nothing but good things to say about SETS! Happy to have a family-friendly spot in San Elijo Hills. There's rarely a wait because of its size. Good food, good drinks, ice cream is included with the kid's menu entrees. After living in SEH for 8 years, it was long awaited to finally have a local restaurant that serves alcohol with a diverse menu and great atmosphere. My husband and I have tried eating here 3 times and while the staff is great, it's so disappointing that 1) the food just isn't that great, 2) the wine pours are skimpy, 3) the owner spends a lot of time talking to his staff but should also be introducing himself and getting to know his customers. I really hope the owner takes all the feedback to heart as the community is too small to not get this place right. Unfortunately we won't be back for a long time. read more

We had a group outing of about 60 people utilizing the spacious patio and some indoor seating. They lets us use the AV system to cast our presentation on their TV's which worked perfectly. The staff was amazingly accommodating, making us feel at home. Manager Kyle and Owner Kevin took amazing care of us for such a large party. The food was phenomenal. We enjoyed Short Rib Sliders, Dry Rub Wings and Wagyu Sliders along with Warm Pretzels with Queso. I recommend SETS for any size event be it 60 people or dinner with the family. 5 stars all the way around. read more

I want to love this place but unfortunately they can't seem to get it right. I've been a handful of times because I keep hoping it will improve. The location is awesome and the indoor outdoor space is awesome which is why I'll give it an extra star. The service is poor. They are slow even when it's not crowded, they forget many items, and even when we asked for a kids activity menu sheet/crayons we had to end up getting up and get it ourselves. They are usually friendly, but just not attentive. It also seems like they just don't care because even when you complain it's like nobody listens and wants to make it better. We had dinner with a few families one night, we were there 2 hours before some of the folks got their meals. My check took 30 min to be delivered after I asked. The food is average, when they have items in stock. Most times I've been there they are out of stuff, so much now I actually ask what they are out of today ahead of time. I went there for drinks the other night with some girls, and they completely forgot my salad (which was all I ordered for my meal). So I ended up just saying forget it. The only time I really enjoyed myself was on a Sunday for brunch with my family. We were the only family in there at first, sat in the patio and had a great brunch. We went for brunch on Sunday. We sat outside and the weather was great however the food and service were subpar if not terrible. We ordered the stuffed French toast, the chilaquiles, a mimosa, a Bloody Mary, a cappuccino. The food and drinks took a very long time to come out with the waitress never checking in on us prior to or after the food arrived. Once we did get her attention after the food arrived to request utensils, she grunted as if it was an inconvenience as she handed them to us. The French toast and mimosa were good. The chilaquiles and Bloody Mary were terrible. The chilaquiles were cold and the Bloody Mary tasted watered down. I didn't drink the Bloody Mary and left it sitting on the table with no alternative offered by the waitress for other drink choices. The cappuccino never came and we had to request it being taken off the bill. I would not recommend coming here for brunch. There are far better places were the quality of the service and the food meets brunch expectations read more

Well, they say third time's a charm. In this case it was a bust. My husband and I brought friends when it first opened. The experience left a lot to be desired... they ran out of menu items and the service was slow. I convinced my husband to give a second chance for lunch and once again it was a bust. Service was slow and the first few things we ordered (drinks and food) we're not available. Apparently they had changed the menu that morning and it just so happened that what we wanted had been removed from the menu all together. At that point the owner came out, apologized and explained that they were still in the process of getting it all together but that he expected all would be better by their hard opening - like 6 months after they'd already been open! Anyhow, let's give it one more try. We walked in to the bar area, sat at the high top tables, got looked at by the bartender and a couple of servers, 10 minutes later I got up, went to the bar and ordered our drinks because it was obvious no one was in a hurry to take our order. The bartender walked our drinks to our table and took our food order. We ordered 3 appetizers and 35 minutes later with no appetizers in sight, we canceled our order asked for our check and went next door. One thing I have noticed is that the servers get very chatty and chummy with the patrons which is great because it feels like a neighborhood hang out but in so doing they are lacking in attention to service for other patrons that may not be regulars but can potentially become regulars. As for us, we will pass. We don't have the patience for them to "get it together ". read more

Came on a Thursday night when there was one large party and two other small tables occupied. The staff was not attentive and probably forgot about us at least 4 times. We spend 2 hours here, most of it just waiting to be served. The braised short ribs were ok but tough. Ordered Mac and cheese that arrived cold. Sent it back and they forgot about us and asked us if we were ready for the check. When the Mac and cheese arrived the server placed it on top of our dirty finished entree dish. It tasted like flour water. Sadly would not recommend, terrible experience here. read more

This place is the absolute best, the foods really good but the real kick is the servers! In my 3 times here my servers have been Izzy, Turner and Sarah. They are the absolute best service I've ever had at a restaurant. So bubbly and kind, truly unmatched hospitality. If you like seafood, and even if you don't like seafood, the mussels are a must have. Also, the service was exceptional. Our server, Nate, was attentive, conscientious, and very helpful! I had the steak salad and it was probably the best one i had. The steak had a dry rub and was tender and not chewy. I also tried the donut log and it was great too. Its actually not a log but 3 donuts. Service was great. My only issue and reason its not 5 stars was that they were out of alot. They were sold out of 3 of the 5 desserts and 3 burgers and it was 5:30 on Thursday. They were out of sushi, cheese platter, and lettuce wraps and more. It was actually getting pretty frustrating trying to order because of the items not available and menu wasn't updated so you don't know until you ask. Im sure this is probably growing pains for a new restaurant and hopefully they will figure it out. I will definitely be back for the steak salad but I probably call a head to make sure it's available read more
