I was visiting and had never heard of this place so I asked my brother to join me. We had a lovely lunch. Simple but delicious. Just a hamburger and the price was right. French fries were good and I don't normally like them. Found out that my daughters brother used to work here. I will return when I come home to visit this year. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back to try the other dishes.

Nice local restaurant that serves up meats and burgers. - Burgers are big and are recommended. - Tri-tip salad and sandwich are also recommended. - Potato soup was also good. - Nice to see this place was almost at full capacity on a Saturday night. - Salad bar is nothing to write home about. I'd recommend walking past it first to inspect the options and conditions of the produce. On a Saturday night many items were very low and messy. - Note that many of the menu options on pervious menus are no longer available. You really need to be a meat eater to enjoy this place.

Delicious, my favorite was the coconut shrimp and the cheese potato soup was amazing. Omg the dessert Brownie Sundae was soooo big and delicious. Everyone was friendly and nice. Service was fast and of course the food was delicious. I will be coming back for their lunch specials.

    2 grilled fish tacos. Yummy!

Yummy! Best steak & burgers in San Marcos! Great happy hour! Lots of parking. They have a patio for private parties. The service is amazing! My go to place!

Yummy Prime rib! Cooked perfectly and the baked potatoes with cheese and bacon and sour cream was to die for!

First time to The Mining company! Sebastian made our first visit so incredible! He was very kind to explain the menu, talked about the soup options and even gave us little taster of two soups since I inquired about them. We ended up getting the Prime rib, with side salad, baked potatoes, and a side of onion rings! Boy, everything was yummy! Incredible service, incredible food! We will be back. Thanks again Sebastian for making our 1st visit an unforgettable one with your amazing customer service and joyful spirit!

This has to be the most expensive and mediocre meal I've had in a long time. The smoked Tri Tip for 2 comes with same portion of fries as a kids meal. The worst part was our server Paul. I've seen more energy from someone with clinical depression. He tried to charge us extra for the salad bar claiming that my father in law went multiple times. Which he didn't and he tried to ease the tension with a joke but our server just had a blank look on his face. Reluctantly fixes it for us. I'd never come back here and I'd advise keeping this server away from any customers.

How much is the salad bar for lunch?

Depends on how you order it. $12 for a single trip, $14 for multiple trips, and $17 for bottomless soup and salad bar.

If k have to pick my favorites out of the stuff we ordered, would be the truffle fries. Even with happy hours pricing.. we spent about $120 on appetizers , two drinks and two beers. The grilled artichoke was popular, but it's not going to fill anyone up. I'd get it again.. The steakhouse dinner brings some fancy aged steaks, with a traditional wood-grilled char and smoke. It's really flavorful steak, and you'd be missing out if you didn't go a little feral on the bone. I find they tend to cook a bit further than other steakhouses, with a medium-rare NY Strip looking well into a Medium. It might be the aging or the fire-grill, but there was no pink left in there, and the ends were pretty dry. Look, I'm never going to kick this off my plate, but maybe order much less cooked than you would at Ruth's, okay? The sides are really nice, fresh, hot, but Small. If you're coming in hungry, they're only going to serve two as a side. There is no baked potato, but their gratin is rich with truffle and flavor. Worthy of the steak. Shrimp Scampi: 3 shrimp ($19). Baked oysters: 5 shells. All odd numbers? If you come here expecting to share equally with two people, prepare for battle. The dessert banana-foster cheesecake was terrific.. 5/5, easily enough for two. Service is impeccable, well-coordinated, with perfect timing. Table settings are uniquely precise, and smiles all around -- nobody seemed hurried, flustered or understaffed. Chill and steak.

Lively bar area. Wines by the glass from $17-$43. Local draft beers. Expensive wine list. We brought our own wines; corkage is $35. Service is among the best we've experienced in the county. This included the handling of our two older wines and great busing service throughout the dinner, with water refills and well-orchestrated clearing of the plates. To make matters worse, our waiter was rarely around, so by the time we even had a chance to flag someone down, the mood had already shifted. Nobody wants to spend half a birthday dinner trying to get someone's attention. We didn't want to make a fuss and ruin the vibe, so we just pushed through, but that's not really how a birthday dinner should go. I don't think the staff was trying to be careless, and I get that restaurants get busy. But between the wait, the wrong cook on the food, and the lack of table presence, it just fell flat for what was supposed to be a special night. Hoping this was an off night, because the potential is there, it just didn't show up for us.

We've heard a lot of great reviews, so we decided to try it out! Even though we did not have reservations, the staff was incredibly accommodating while Alexis took our name and phone number and asked if we were celebrating any special occasion or if we had food allergies. Tim, our host, took us to our seat and the absolutely wonderful dining experience started! What stood out most was the attention to detail. While upscale restaurants pride themselves on high-quality coffee and thoughtful accompaniments, this restaurant's level of service is not standard! They provided an elaborate carrier laden with regular and whip cream, honey, chocolate and sugar stir sticks and topped it off with a biscotti for their brewed coffee! From carefully addressing food allergies to providing impeccable service throughout the evening, every member of the team made us feel genuinely cared for. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortably mixed with guests dressed from casual to elegant - perfect for a special occasion. We enjoyed the $75 three-course dinner, and both the pork chop and barramundi were exceptional. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented from the start of the potato lentil soup of the day and the fig and burrata salad to the dinner entrees! Every bite was a celebration of flavor! A special thank you to our waiter, Luciano, whose attentiveness and professionalism elevated the entire dinner journey. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our evening. The highlight of the night was dessert. The presentation was done in such a thoughtful and meaningful way to recognize both our silver anniversary and a milestone birthday along with personally staff signed cards. I'm sure they do it for all their guests celebrating special events, but it made our already memorable evening truly unforgettable.
