We were very pleased with the wonderful selection of homemade pasta . The dishes were plentiful and very tasty . The service was great as well and the prices were reasonable . There were 5 of us and everyone tried a different dish . I always try and order something I can not or do not make at home . I ordered the pumpkin filled ravioli . They were large and the sauce was sweet and delicious . All the pasta was perfectly cooked , a bit al dente . The red sauce was like my grandmother used to make . For those who love the decadent richness of true Osso Bucco... indulge yourself at Sette Osteria. I was completely taken off guard with what I encountered at this restaurant. I presumed I was going to get a bowl of pasta when I looked at the menu online, but made a last minute decision to get the Osso Bucco with truffle oil/mushroom risotto. The flavor of the veal was intensely rich, the bone stuffed with seasoned marrow, and the risotto well essenced with truffles, mushrooms and cream. While you'll pay extra for this dish, the portion was so large that with what I brought home... I had two meals out of one (and I'm not a light eater). That's not normally a positive comment about fine dining, but in this case, I was happy to revisit the deliciousness the next day in the comfort of my home. Visited the Dupont Circle location after my rave review for the 14th street location and was greatly disappointed. Upon entering, it took 15 minutes and several exchanged glances before I'm was finally serviced. After ordering the chicken carbonara, as I'd now done 2 times prior to the visit, I ask that they please include my bread to go. The bartender then goes to re-ring my order to charge me for a bread basket. I ask him to review my order because I've dined in and taken out and both times I received complimentary bread for my pasta. He returns with the manager, and states complimentary bread is not given to brunch orders (carbonara is not brunch), bar orders (the only option to order to go is at the bar...) and to go orders (from which I know not to be true, per my last to go order). I was disappointed in the handling and thought it would have reflected better on SO to add complimentary bread to the almost $30 order of pasta, with the understanding that future orders will require the bread basket to be charged the next time. read more

Woodfired pizzas are amazing and to die for. They are a little over priced, but since you have to go to Dupont for them it is to be expected. The best times to go are when its nice outside, because they have a great patio to sit on and enjoy the day. I have eaten dinner at Sette a few times, and enjoyed it each time. Grilled whole sea bream was excellent. I popped in recently to sit at the bar while waiting for a hair appointment. Ordered fried calamari which was one of the best I've ever had. Light, crisp batter, flavorful calamari, with fried julienned zucchini and tiny sprigs of fried rosemary. The bartender mentioned that the calamari is marinated overnight in garlic, and rosemary. Perfect with a glass of chardonnay, very pleasant and relaxing. read more

I've come here for happy hour a few times and enjoyed myself. The one time I came in for dinner I had a pasta dish with salmon and a blush sauce which was actually very good. We walked to this restaurant from our hotel and enjoyed a nice dinner outside. Our waiter was terrific, setting beautiful, food delicious. The one thing that was a serious disappointment was the extremely scant pour of wine for $9 or $10. I wish I had said something then, because afterward that was the one thing that both my mother in law and I were really irritated by. If I had been in the mood for iced tea or stuck with water, the rating would be 4 stars. I just don't like feeling ripped off. read more

With such a great location expectations were a bit high. They came down pretty quickly. The room is very loud, the chairs rickety, and the decor was similar to chains like TGI Friday's. I ordered the pan seared salmon which was mushy and tasteless. It did come with walnuts and green beans,which afforded a bit of taste. My friend had gnocchi, which was fine if not overly flavorful. I came here recently for brunch on sunday with a party of 7. It was a hot day and our table was inside which was okay with me. My friends ordered drinks and I just had a coke. I got the CrabCake Benedict and while that was pretty good the side of Potato Cubes that came with it weren't. They were just hard and I didn't even bother to finish them. I honestly had a good time hanging with my friends who some I hadn't seen in a year, the location was nice. There was alot of open room and outside lighting. There wasn't many people and it wasn't that expensive. The problem came from our server. I don't know if it is because they were low on people (I only saw maybe 3-4 servers and there was a sign outside saying they were hiring) or its because we were young and they didn't feel like attending but we barely saw our server. My friends were down to get drinks at this location and I really wanted a refill on my coke while eating but the waiter came by maybe once or twice while we were there and honestly would just get one of my friends order for a drink and walk away without asking if any of the other people wanted more which we all did. We wanted to ask for more but she just walked away. We were there for a while and even when most of the place was empty, no one came to check up on us. read more

We visited today for brunch and the food was really good but the service was disappointing. The waitress who's name was Danyel was quite inconsiderate. She brought my husband a beer, poured it, and then walked away... leaving me sitting waiting for a Bloody Mary. We thought that was rude. Mind you this is brunch and we had ordered drinks at the same time. We had to ask for bread for the table and waited so long I was tempted to get it myself. Same for waiting for water after asking 2 times. Maybe she was having a bad day, and just needs to take the day off and regroup. Decided to try this restaurant on our last night in DC and so glad we did! We had an awesome waitress named Daniella and she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us many recommendations about what to order. Our food came out so quickly and it was delicious!! I had the pumpkin ravioli and it was truly outstanding (like Daniella had mentioned!) my fiancé had a gnocchi special and both of our moms had fettuccine Alfredo. I also had the white sangria and it was very tasty! The only thing I could say to improve upon was the bread was just some warm pita bread that I could have had at my house. However I will be going back to DC in April for a bachelorette party and the girls and I are planning on attending brunch and the mimosa special your restaurant offers! The food was a little greasy, but okay. The price was very high for the amount you get. The wait was long, even though it was rainy and the place was not at all crowded. The reason that I gave them a 1-star rating is that they charged us $34 for a bottle of wine that we ordered (and was listed around $23). When we tried to address it with the waiter, my daughter even had to point at the menu because the waiter's English wasn't very good, and we wanted to make sure he got the right one.
