I have eaten dinner at Sette a few times, and enjoyed it each time. Grilled whole sea bream was excellent. I popped in recently to sit at the bar while waiting for a hair appointment. Ordered fried calamari which was one of the best I've ever had. Light, crisp batter, flavorful calamari, with fried julienned zucchini and tiny sprigs of fried rosemary. The bartender mentioned that the calamari is marinated overnight in garlic, and rosemary. Perfect with a glass of chardonnay, very pleasant and relaxing. read more

I've come here for happy hour a few times and enjoyed myself. The one time I came in for dinner I had a pasta dish with salmon and a blush sauce which was actually very good. If you're looking for a late night happy hour this is a good place too. You can get heap drinks and pizzas at the bar after 10pm. Friendly staff too. read more

We walked to this restaurant from our hotel and enjoyed a nice dinner outside. Our waiter was terrific, setting beautiful, food delicious. The one thing that was a serious disappointment was the extremely scant pour of wine for $9 or $10. I wish I had said something then, because afterward that was the one thing that both my mother in law and I were really irritated by. If I had been in the mood for iced tea or stuck with water, the rating would be 4 stars. I just don't like feeling ripped off. read more

With such a great location expectations were a bit high. They came down pretty quickly. The room is very loud, the chairs rickety, and the decor was similar to chains like TGI Friday's. I ordered the pan seared salmon which was mushy and tasteless. It did come with walnuts and green beans,which afforded a bit of taste. My friend had gnocchi, which was fine if not overly flavorful. This is a Happy Hour must for my friends and I. I've tried going other places in the area but end up back at the Sette bar because it's the BEST deal. I came here recently for brunch on sunday with a party of 7. It was a hot day and our table was inside which was okay with me. My friends ordered drinks and I just had a coke. I got the CrabCake Benedict and while that was pretty good the side of Potato Cubes that came with it weren't. They were just hard and I didn't even bother to finish them. I honestly had a good time hanging with my friends who some I hadn't seen in a year, the location was nice. There was alot of open room and outside lighting. There wasn't many people and it wasn't that expensive. The problem came from our server. I don't know if it is because they were low on people (I only saw maybe 3-4 servers and there was a sign outside saying they were hiring) or its because we were young and they didn't feel like attending but we barely saw our server. My friends were down to get drinks at this location and I really wanted a refill on my coke while eating but the waiter came by maybe once or twice while we were there and honestly would just get one of my friends order for a drink and walk away without asking if any of the other people wanted more which we all did. We wanted to ask for more but she just walked away. We were there for a while and even when most of the place was empty, no one came to check up on us. read more

We looked at the menu as we walked by during our recent visit; it looked inviting so we had dinner that night. My wife said her linguini and clams was the best she had since visiting Italy! Our server was as good as it gets - we went back the next night and even the following night for another fabulous meal. We visited today for brunch and the food was really good but the service was disappointing. The waitress who's name was Danyel was quite inconsiderate. She brought my husband a beer, poured it, and then walked away... leaving me sitting waiting for a Bloody Mary. We thought that was rude. Mind you this is brunch and we had ordered drinks at the same time. We had to ask for bread for the table and waited so long I was tempted to get it myself. Same for waiting for water after asking 2 times. Maybe she was having a bad day, and just needs to take the day off and regroup. Decided to try this restaurant on our last night in DC and so glad we did! We had an awesome waitress named Daniella and she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us many recommendations about what to order. Our food came out so quickly and it was delicious!! I had the pumpkin ravioli and it was truly outstanding (like Daniella had mentioned!) my fiancé had a gnocchi special and both of our moms had fettuccine Alfredo. I also had the white sangria and it was very tasty! The only thing I could say to improve upon was the bread was just some warm pita bread that I could have had at my house. However I will be going back to DC in April for a bachelorette party and the girls and I are planning on attending brunch and the mimosa special your restaurant offers! The food was a little greasy, but okay. The price was very high for the amount you get. The wait was long, even though it was rainy and the place was not at all crowded. The reason that I gave them a 1-star rating is that they charged us $34 for a bottle of wine that we ordered (and was listed around $23). When we tried to address it with the waiter, my daughter even had to point at the menu because the waiter's English wasn't very good, and we wanted to make sure he got the right one. The bartender gave us great suggestions from the special menu for that evening - the pasta in vodka sauce with bacon, crab and shrimp and the risotto with short rib were both delicious and although large portioned, we finished every bite. Our waiter was great and very attentive. We will be here for only 5 days but were so impressed with Sette Osteria we will try and get back here to enjoy another meal before we leave.
