Seems like all the 1-3 star reviews are from people who throw a fit when something doesn't go their way. I bought the groupon package after much encouragement from a few friends who had done the same and completed their treatment. I called to make an appointment and yes....they were very booked up. That's usually how it is with successful businesses. (They were booked out months in advance.) Luckily I was able to get an appointment for the next day due to a cancellation and I am so glad i was able to make it! Treatment was a breeze and everyone was very friendly, professional and helpful. Parking is difficult because it is La Jolla and in one of the biggest tourist attractions in San Diego. I have been wanting to get laser hair removal for the longest and was happy to find SEV's Groupon. I purchased the large area. I am currently getting laser under arms and full Brazilian. So far after my first treatment I am seeing results. It was weird the first session cause I did not know what to expect but the lady was helpful in after care and the process. I did feel like the appointment was rushed and she didn't really get all my areas very well. But the second time I came in I had a different lady and she really took her time and it didn't hurt at all. Coming from sugaring (waxing) for a few years I'm happy I made the choice to get laser hair removal. The front desk receptionist girls are outgoing and I love how sweet they are. I've had laser hair removal on my bikini line years ago, and while it did work, the experience was painful and something I did not want to repeat. But after moving to sunny San Diego and practically living in a bathing suit, I got sick of shaving. I decided to bit the bullet and get a playboy laser treatment. As earlier stated, I wasn't looking forward to the pain (now in even more sensitive areas) and having a stranger all up in my "business." I've only had two treatments, four more to go. When you first walk in, it's pretty posh. I must admit, I felt pretty fancy waiting in the waiting area! SEV is spotlessly clean! Then when you walk into the treatment area, the person doing the treatment (I have had a different person each time) is amazing. 1) They are nurses. They have seen EVERYTHING. They have no issues being all up in your business. They are friendly, experienced and make you feel totally relaxed (which is hard to do when your spread eagle on a table) 2) I don't know what magic they have there, but it's PAINLESS! No joke people. Two stars because their customer service is amazing and the place is immaculately clean. Other than that, this was a complete waste of time and money. I went 10 times, every 4-6 weeks and drove from Temecula. I do not have any hormonal issues. There is no reason for me to have to go more than 10 times for the same area. My friend who has PCOS went to a different laser treatment place and she saw results after the 8th session. There's a reason why their prices are so cheap compared to other places. Because their machines suck. I am not at all happy with the results and will never recommend this place. I get that "everyone is different" but when you have someone who went to a different place with hormonal issues and saw results faster than you when you don't have hormonal issues. Appointments were far out in advance but i had to reschedule a couple times and it seems to have gotten ALOT better more like 3-5 days instead of a month out... yes it was about a month out appointments but maybe they opened up more or added staff? Staff on reception have been nice and always answered any questions i had. Parking can be tough took me about 15 mins its located on the busy beach store area so plan accordingly. Ally did my laser treatment and she was so nice i did not feel rushed or uncomfortable at any point. She answered everything i asked since it was my first time getting laser. Took about 5-10 mins treatment time. I would recommend this place. To anyone considering laser hair removal. SEV Laser Aesthetics was a WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE for me! It was my first time ever trying laser. I was super nervous that I almost canceled but decided to go with it. I didn't know what to expect, didn't research much on it. But once I got there, everything was very calming. The receptionist Priscilla helped me understand the process, she was patient, and let me know the great things about being lasered. My appointment was so quick too! 5 mins top for my upper lip. It's really a shame that I have to write this review. I've been to Sev 5 times and every experience was great. However, my last experience has to be by far the worst I have ever encountered at any establishment. I had an appointment scheduled and unfortunately had to cancel outside of their cancellation window. I knew I would incur a cancellation fee,and I was fine with that-- it was my fault. The staff member who took my cancellation quickly rescheduled me for an appointment 2 days later. Perfect! So, I thought. I receive a text message the day of my appointment that the nurse had a family emergency and was not available. So, when I call to verify that my appointment was in fact cancelled, they tell me no not cancelled, the nurse is unavailable so my service has to be moved. Ummm okay... I'm again quickly rescheduled. Perfect! Well on the date of my new appointment, I receive a text message that my appointment is being moved 2 hours...wait, what?!? Okay, I appreciate the courtesy notice...except I had to wait and additional 40 minutes AFTER the time given to me. I think what is most irritating is that your time and policies equates to money for your business but, clearly my time does not. Such a shame since I had scheduled future appointments for additional services and all will be cancelled. 07/06/20 Update: I received a call from someone at Sev Laser's corporate office but, they never called back. I did however, finish my pre-paid sessions after COVID. I have to say, the staff, for the exception of the one bad experience, is pretty on top of their game. I purchased a Groupon package and added on additional treatments. I still have two treatments left in my package, and I've decided to just forfeit them because of my terrible experience here. First, it basically takes an act of God to get an appointment. This is extremely frustrating given that your treatments need to be on a schedule. Second, parking is impossible to find, and if you are late more than a couple minutes, they quickly jump on the opportunity to cancel your session and make you forfeit what you paid. Finally and most importantly, every nurse seems to abide by different policies. Today, after making the hour drive and spending another 20 minutes looking for parking, I was told they could not treat me, even though all of my conditions were identical to last time. After they refused to treat me, they offered to schedule another appointment, but told me my session for today had to be forfeited. Do yourself a favor, and go somewhere reputable that won't try to use every excuse possible to cancel your sessions and charge you. read more

I was nervous coming into get laser hair removal as this was my first time! However the process was seamless! Yes, there are a ton of forms to fill out before hand and you have to do a quick 2 min FaceTime with a nurse before your appt, but I would rather take care of all paperwork and need items ahead of time then sitting in the waiting room for 15-20 minutes filling it out. I walked in and the staff was sweet! Even though they were having technical difficulties with their computer, and it was crowded they apologized and were very professional. What really stood out to me was the fact that I completely made a wrong appt at another location by accident (totally my fault). I was not expecting to be seen, but they found a way to squeeze me in and transfer my paperwork over within 10 minutes! I was so grateful because it is a good 30 min drive for me to get to bird rock. The nurse practitioners here are so incredibly nice and always make me feel so comfortable. I receive laser hair removal in my armpits and full brazilian. I saw results after just two sessions. I'm giving them 3 stars because it really does work and it's close to being painless. I have had sessions before with another med spa and with SEV you see results even after your first visit. The machine they use is state of the art, blows cold air so you don't feel any zap. The cons: 1. they're always booked (coz it's really good) you have to book at least a month ahead. 2. the girls who checks you in, screens and checks your temperature do not have customer service skills. i don't care if you look like you're in HS, however i do judge you for how you treat people. i myself work in healthcare, so i know first hand that you throw your problems out the door as soon as you clock in for the day. 3. it does feel like the work is rushed sometimes, but i'm not mad about it as long as you give me the results i want. 4. the sanitization in between clients varies from one nurse to another. some wipes the door handles some do not. some take their time and some do not. what i know for a fact is that those wipes you use need to dry for a certain period of time so you do have to wait it out. so with that being said- that process you can NOT rush! 5. allow extra time for parking. overall i do recommend SEV laser if you want results with little to no pain! my suggestion would be to have someone qualified to manage the flow of clients in and out. read more

One of the receptionists then asked me to LEAVE THE BUILDING as if I was some Karen. My request wasn't unreasonable, I simply asked them to honor their word. I was left with no recourse. I have had many sessions at SEV and am always extremely pleased with the results. My hair is very dark and thick, but they have been able to lighten it significantly already, and I am excited to finish my sessions and be hairless soon! I did my first full body session with Jeanette and we had amazing conversation for the entire (long!) session. This was my very first time here and my very first time getting lasered, and it was literally the best hair removal experience I have ever had. I got Brazilian laser done, and will definitely get my underarms and legs done too at some point! I have shaved, waxed, and sugared, and nothing compares to this, Yes there is not immediate results, but the thought of it being so much thinner or gone is so worth it, as well as no ingrown hairs! It's the winter anyways, and I'm not going to the beach. It literally cost the same as a wax for me. Everyone there was so nice and I felt well heard and taken care of. The girls that work there are really nice but the system they have it's the worst. I bought a packet of 6 sessions in September of 2020 didn't get my first appointment till December 11, 2020, second appointment January 9, 2021 third appointment February 6,2021. All those good appointments. Then I don't know what happened. I was I was starting to see results because of the consistency of my appointments, but then my appointment became so far apart. I feel like all my hair grew back. My fourth appointment was in May 5, 2021(3 months later), fifth appointment July 7, 2021 (2 months later) and my final appointment is this upcoming Friday December 10, 2021(5 months later). I really think this was a waste of money. There's no point of me making the last appointment. All my hair has grown back. Updated review: though the service is great once you get in, it is literally the biggest pain to actually do business here. The Groupon was a great deal, but actually using it was insane! I was able to get in 3 sessions. On my 4th, they had to cancel due to staffing issues the morning of - no worries, I get it. I rescheduled with them for the next day. After hanging up I realized I actually couldnt do the following evening so called them back, they were closed so I called the following morning. They told me since I was calling the day of I would either have to pay a fee or lose one of my Groupon sessions, which was frustrating because I had only rescheduled because they canceled my appointment. After multiple calls and an email, they agreed to give me my session back. I tried to schedule multiple times, but as someone who works, they quite often had just nothing available for months and then would advise "call us the day before" which is also extremely inconvenient. I finally called again today and was now advised my Groupon expired though I had no idea that was even possible because when I first redeemed it, she said as long as I made my first appointment before the Groupon expired I was good to go. I honestly didn't even feel like asking for more info or pushing the issue because they are a pain. Would not recommend unless you have a very flexible schedule read more

The services are fine, but after you book your first appointment it's impossible to get follow up appointments. I am writing this at the end of May, and the soonest available appointment that they have for me is mid-August. There is some timing involved in getting the maximum benefit from these treatments, but you won't be able to work with that with this company. They do have other locations, but their packages are non-transferrable, so you can't go somewhere that has more availability. I will not continue with them once I've finished the things that I've paid for. The timing is ridiculous. read more
