Very disappointed. Apparently half their staff was at an off site event. Only one cook for the whole restaurant! We waited 20 minutes for a server to come to our table, she did bring drinks promptly, but an hour after our order was taken we still didn't have food. Then the grilled chicken on the salads was ice cold! The server was matter of fact about it stating "I thought all chicken on salad was served cold". It wasn't as though it was grilled and sat out, it was taken from a very cold fridge and put in the salad. We asked for our bill as soon as we were served, 30 minutes later still no bill. Visited here while we were at a car show and it didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a small town pub n' grub, this is the place. The burger was surprisingly good, and for bar food/American fair it checked all the boxes. We didn't have the most prompt service, but in their defense we did decide to sit around the corner/out of sight to avoid the common crowd. Having lived in Idaho before this was about as 'for the locals' as you can get. It's a rustic hang in a small town, and things aren't done as uptight and formal as city standards may be. But I liked this, it adds a personal touch you just don't get to find in chains or larger venues anymore. I recommend it, wet your whistle, grab a burger, and enjoy some Riggins culture. read more

We stopped here in the middle of the day in the middle of then week with our 4 children ages 8-13. Even though they only had seating in the bar because the bartender was also our waiter, I felt comfortable with my children there. It is cleaner than it looks like it will be from the outside - even the restrooms were very clean. I also worried that our food would take a long time but it arrived about 15 minutes after all six of us ordered and was fresh and hot and delicious. I ad the smoked turkey salad and although it wasn't fancy, the lettuce was fresh and chilled and there was a generous portion of delicious smoked turkey on top. The waiter said it is local poultry, locally smoked. My kids had wings and chicken tenders and my husband had the tri-tip sandwich and all were quite good. We came in from out of town and immediately were stared down by several diners. Then things just got increasingly...uncomfortable. Our server was friendly enough, but food and drinks took forever. Buffalo blue salad looked pretty, but there were frozen bits of precooked chicken that I couldn't eat. Finger steaks were like deep fried rocks. Then our server spilled an entire helping of blue cheese dressing all down the back of our 3 year old niece. She apologized and helped me wipe off the poor kid. It was even in her hair. Absolutely a must if you are in Riggins! The pork chops are the best I ever had! Juicy and tender and perfectly seasoned. I had the smashed potatoes and veggies that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The veg was crisp and fresh. My wife had the pot roast and it was melt in your mouth goodness! Wow! Stopped here on our way through town and had lunch. I let the waitress pick the tri-tip sandwich with grilled onions and pepper-jack cheese and she suggested au jus. I have to say that this sandwich was very good. It is a no thrills just plain ol great tasting sandwich. The fries were very crisp and hot, the lady that served us was very nice. Seven Devils hit the spot with several cold beers and munching on their tacos. I ate the fish, chicken and shrimp after a full day of hiking. I favored the fish, so the next day after a full day of rafting that's all I ate and washed them down with the cold beers again. The staff was nice and prompt. Good food and good service. I would eat here again. It was easy to order the steak exactly the way we wanted it with the descriptions of rare to well done listed on the menu. We ordered medium, and it was perfectly pink and hot in the center. The ribs were tasty, although not fall-off-the-bone tender. They make their own barbecue sauce in house, and we liked it very much. The onion petals (a stand-in for onion rings) are excellent. We also ordered the crab bread - a house specialty - and found it tasted good but was quite messy to eat. Our waitress was nice. She brough water and our drink orders quickly, and kept everything refilled. She was not very knowledgeable on their bar menu or wine list, but she had a wireless intercom clipped to her shirt to communicate with the bartender, so we got answers quickly. She did not know how to process our coupon, and ran off with my cell phone to get an answer. This was NOT good! I followed her and saw my phone handed off three more times to different people (note to self: always print the coupon in advance). There is no real dining room. You can sit outside on the patio, in the bar, or at tables in an L-shaped space between the kitchen and patio (where we sat). The tables were close together and directly in the line of traffic of people going to the patio and wait staff going to the kitchen. But, they were clean, with salt and pepper shakers and a napkin dispenser on every table. The chairs are old cafeteria/restaurant chairs that have had the cushions replaced with wood. They were not at all comfortable, but they were clean. Altogether, Seven Devils is a clean, casual place with good food and service. read more

The service was okay but when I looked around seeing all the other "locals" getting excellent service it was extremely disappointed. Decided to stop here after a day on the river, the food was delicious and we found the waitress to be very nice. They had an issue in the kitchen, so a few items weren't available (I believe they had a cooler break down so they lost several items). We'll go back again and will look forward to having the Spice Blowout Burger when they have it available, because the regular cheeseburger was great! As for past reviews about locals being helped sooner, we did not find that to be the case. We saw one server covering the entire restaurant and she did an amazing job of remembering who came in and in what order. Food came out a little slow, but it's a small business and probably just one cook. Gave us more time to chat over appetizers and drinks. It would have been nice to have a refillable soda fountain, so I had to stretch my soda can through the meal. The fries were good, the condiment bar was self serve, and the burger was the best part. Not a standout, but better than your average fast-food place, which should be the case, at this price and being cooked to order. I'd go there again if I was in town if I was looking for a good known quantity. But I'd also consider exploring someplace else if feeling adventurous. Went to both steak house and bar. I had the ribeye it had great seasoning. Veggies were none description. Wife had smoked turkey dinner said it was just OK. The steak was better than one I had the nights hat was twice as expensive. I would go back for it again in a minute. The bar service was very friendly place was packed and under staffed so service was slow. We only went in for a couple for drinks so no real issues with waits. Made a reservation for 11 people two weeks in advance. "We'd love to have you!" Arrived on time, only to find signs everywhere saying: "We will not split checks for parties of more than six." When we informed the server that we were never told this when we made the reservation, they refused to make accommodations for us. "Sorry, no." So, we said no problem, we'd be happy to split up into two groups of 5 and 6. "No." What?!? You won't let us just change to smaller groups? "No, you made the reservation for 11, and we won't let you change. We have an ATM, and we'll show you how to use it." First you won't let us break up into smaller groups, even though we offered to do that to meet your policy, and now you're insulting us by offering to 'show us' how to use an ATM?" So three of us decided to just move to the bar and eat there. The server and manager followed us into the bar and said: "Alright, we'll allow the three of you to eat and split the checks, but if one more joins you, we will refuse." While attempting to get an explanation of why splitting checks for more than 6 was against policy, only to have the policy changed to forbid splitting checks for 6, and then changed to forbid splitting checks for 5, and then changed to forbid splitting checks for 4, the server cut me off mid-sentence. I said: "Wait, please let me finish..." "GET OUT." They refused dinners for 11 gentlemen, plus drinks. They kicked out two former Chief Financial Officers, a former Senior Director of US Information Technology for a Dow 30 global corporation, a senior transportation manager of a global technology company, a cardio-pulmonary technologist, and more. Must be nice to have more business than you need. The rudeness and lack of customer awareness was stunning. We'll never go back, and we'll certainly share our experience with our colleagues and friends. read more

One star only because zero stars is not an option. We went in to eat at 4:30 after a rafting trip. Outside the restaurant on the wall was a sign that says reservations required for parties more than six. Not being from Riggins, we had no idea that we needed to make reservations until we are standing outside their door. So, being that they weren't busy, we went in hoping it would be fine. Because of table room, we sat at two different tables. Right away, we didn't feel welcome. After more than10 minutes, a waitress approached our adult daughter's table with menus, but kept them and didn't give them to her. The waitress asked my daughter who was sitting at a separate table from us, if she was with this other group, pointing to a family of 5. My daughter said no she doesn't even know them. So, the waitress asked her "what about those people," pointing to myself and my husband sitting at a different table. She said "yes but we're two different parties, two separate vehicles." Anyway, the waitress said "I saw you guys all walk in together, you're trying to get around our policy by breaking up your party and sitting at separate tables." We had to leave because we didn't make reservations!! We could not believe this was happening!! OH, AND DID I MENTION THERE WERE 5 or 6 EMPTY TABLES AND MOST OF THE BAR SEATING OPEN!! Well, we were quite glad we left because we ended up at Summerville Bar, Brewery & Pizza House. Seriously, they have the most amazing pizza we have ever had! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND Summerville! You won't be disappointed or kicked out for having a large group. Very pleasant and polite staff, tons of room and tables and very cool decor. My wife and I had Sunday lunch here. My wife had the homemade split pea soup which she said was excellent. I had the flatiron steak accompanied by their onion petals. The onion petals are lightly breaded and are better than onion rings in that the onion does not pull out of the breading, as often happens with onion rings, leaving the onion unceremoniously draping over one's lower lip. The only complaint I have is that the flatiron steak had some gristle that I had to cut around, but it was tasty and grilled the way I ordered it grilled. Christie was our waitress and she was a delight. She made good suggestions and was there when we needed something without hovering over us.
