I was recommended by TMS Automotive to Seven Eleven Body Shop when my car bumper needed repair after my neighbor accidentally ran into my parked car. This is a family owned business. I drove over and they gave me an estimate. Once I accepted it, they told me they would let me know when they had the parts (supply chain issues could be a hold up but fortunately it wasn't for me). I was then able to schedule the service where they would have to keep my car a few days. I just did the service and not only was my bumper beautiful but they touched up some other areas and detailed my car! And a nice touch - a handwritten thank you note and some goodies! My catalytic converter was stolen. Chris was extremely helpful and looked at my car, stored it for 4 days in their secured parking lot, and assisted in my search for a solution that he could not provide. I was able to drive my car over to another shop to do the work. During that time he allowed me to park the rental car I had been using at the shop and he watched over it as well. I am extremely grateful for Chris's patience, willingness to help, and his honesty when he said that his shop could not be of any service. Took my car here based on the prior yelp reviews. I'm sure they are all fake because I received what is to be the worst auto body experience of my lifetime. Got into a collision and they had my car for a whole month. I called to inquire about my vehicle and they said it was done. I didn't receive any calls from them prior about my vehicle so had I not called them, no one would have contacted me. I returned my rental car and went to this auto shop to pick up my car and it was not finished. The front window had a crack in it. Back to the rental shop to pick up a car rental and my car goes back to the auto shop. I pick up my car again a week later , return the rental car again, after I get on the freeway my check tire pressure light goes on. In a panic I get off the freeway and put air in it but now they are closed so I have to bring my car back AGAIN the next day and get a car rental AGAIN. This auto shop blames the tire supplier and the tire supplier blames this auto shop. I pick up my car again and return my car rental again and when I get home I fill the washer fluid tank since they returned it empty after the repair. The fluids leak right onto the floor. Back to this auto shop again and again I have to pick up a car rental and now it's really becoming a headache because my car insurance policy keeps closing out the case and reopening it and I keep having to wait for them to re open it before I can pick up a rental. Time I have to spend on the 1-800 number waiting and in a panic wondering if I'm going to have a car to get to work. Back and forth my car went into this auto shop. My bumper kept popping out and it was always something done incorrectly or an extremely sloppy job. It's been a year and my bumper still pops out and isn't aligned correctly. I can't even go into detail about everything done wrong here because the list is that long. One of the staff members here even felt obligated to touch up the paint on my car with paint that did NOT match my car color. I had to make another trip to have to it removed. What kind of auto shop does this ?!! I emailed the owner in October in regards to my bumper popping out again and he said he would get back to me and it's been three months and no response. I regret bringing my car here and the experience was such a stressful one and a total waste of my time. I was courteous the whole time and was willing to let them fix their mistakes but even they can't fix their own errors. Don't bring your car here if you don't want a whole saga to follow! Of course they got paid for the sloppy work since it came out of insurance and I'm stuck w my unfinished sloppy vehicle with a loose bumper !! Beware!!! Update 2/ 2020: Had my tires replaced and they used an after market sensor on my tire that did not work. I kept hearing a clicking sound and had to bring it back to my tire place and they told me it's because I have an after market sensor. This place still haunts me. read more

LOVE THESE GUYS!! I had a ton of corrosion and rust around and under the windshield of my Jeep due to an improper windshield replacement (i.e., crap job) that had been done before I bought it. Water had gotten under the rubber and rotted the metal. Big holes! These guys made it look like new again! Great work. And the staff couldn't be nicer (Chris, Julia, Jason). BIg shout out to you all. I had tried to squeeze my tiny Toyota Yaris past a big truck and as I proceeded VERY cautiously I heard I had made contact. I withdrew quickly but was shocked to see the whole front hood of my car loose and dragging on the ground. My mechanic said he couldn't fix it and I had to take it to a body shop. Those two words conjure up a LOT of money, right? But luck was with me. He recommended Seven Eleven and they rescued me! Instead of $3000 plus, which is what I had feared it was barely $300. Jason talked me down from my panicked state, sent me into the office to wait while he worked up the estimate. There I met Julia and Chris, was shown to the bathroom, with 3 bottles of liquid scented soaps (in a body shop?) and then offered me bottled water. We comfortably chatted and I felt so at home, like I had known them for years! I dropped my car off a week later and Jason drove me home. 3 hours later they had finished the work, polished up the bumper and scrapes on the sides. I am a very happy camper!! read more

They could have made the car look brand new, but had the integrity to offer us a version that retained a not-very-obvious dent and a scratch---for less than a third of the like-new cost, all at no sacrifice in function or safety. So, my husband had surgery on his elbow, right? The nurse who helped load him in to the car didn't want him using the 'shoulder' portion of the seatbelt, so she, without my knowledge or consent, tucked it around the headrest (front passenger seat). I was a bit preoccupied with getting my drugged husband home and in bed to really pay attention to what, exactly, this meant. A few days later, we attempted to go for a drive to get the bed-bound man some fresh air and sunshine and discovered that what she'd done was completely wrap the seatbelt around the headrest and it locked, rendering the front seat unsuitable for people. After trying for a good portion of an hour to get the damn thing usable again, I gave up and drove down to Seven Eleven. I picked them for a few reasons- the proximity to my house and a favorable experience previously, and being open after 5p on the weekday. Twenty minutes later, after some of the most hilarious and enjoyable conversation I'd had in weeks, the seatbelt had been fixed, and Chris, the owner, refused to bill me for it. These guys really DO treat people like family, not customers. Honest honest honest honest What more can I say? I brought my car in for an estimate appointment, and Chris told me it would be expensive to fix the cosmetic damage due to the location on the panel, but that if he were I, he'd wash the area and use touch-up paint. He also recommended a paint-less dent specialist to remove a dent on another part of my car for a fraction of what he would have to charge to remove the hood / paint / etc. I have never left an auto body shop before wishing that I could give them my money. They seemed so nice. The first repair I had done here involved a lot of repainting. When I went to pick up the car, I examined it and found they had not bothered to paint anything below the bumper. Had to leave it there for 3 more days -- very inconvenient. A year or so later, rain was leaking into my trunk. The said I had to get the rubber gasket surrounding the trunk lid completely replaced for $200. This seemed strange to me so I checked with my regular mechanic who re-glued it for $30. COME HERE FOR AMAZING ADVICE AND SERVICE AT REASONABLE PRICES! This review is long overdue. Got in a fender-bender a month and a half ago with my 15-year old Honda. Though I love my car, I can't spend too much on it, especially not more than its worth. After going to a couple of body shops, I came across Seven Eleven Body Shop on Yelp. I love that this is a smallish family business that has been around for over 30 years. Chris, the owner, and Julia, his wife and office manager, make you feel at home and treat you like a part of the community, which is what they strive for with their "referral board" of other local small businesses. Their son Jason was gracious to even give me a ride to work to downtown Oakland after I dropped off my car. So here's what happened: I went to 7-11 to get an estimate. It was a slower day, so Chris was more than happy to explain to me all of my options clearly. These options included going elsewhere to get a paint job done that would be less expensive than theirs. He didn't promise too much and was experienced enough to know what short cuts there were without sacrificing safety or quality. He wrote up the estimate and I took it home to think about it. The estimate was less than the others and given the time he spent explaining everything to me, it was a no-brainer. I called him up to make an appointment and have the parts I needed ordered. When the parts came in a couple of days later, I had them put them on and got the car painted elsewhere, at Chris's recommendation, since I didn't need top-quality paint on my Honda. My vehicle was damaged back in December, by a careless driver talking on her cellphone. The damage was not critical, no one was hurt, but it was the result of just plain carelessness. I had to get an estimate, so I drove around the lower section of Oakland near where I live and I found 7-Eleven Auto Body. I walked inside, and I felt at home immediately. From the large tank of cared for tropical fish, to the free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and so on, to the down to earth, approachable atmosphere of the office, I just felt comfortable. The owner, Chris, runs the business and has for 40 years now, slowly growing his operation. He has a full service body shop, from minor dents to full on vehicular restoration. He services the California Highway Patrol, UC Berkeley and many other organizations that value dependable, quality and reasonably priced service to their fleets. When I brought him my 'insurance approved' estimate, he laughed at it and pointed out where the Insurance company was toeing the company line to cut costs at the cost of quality. He took the time to ask me if *I* wanted 'cheap parts' or if I wanted manufacturer original parts and if I wanted the proper paint blending. I asked him if the insurance would cover that, he said 'Well, we may get you a used fender, but it will be a ford fender'. The man knows his business and is out to get the best deal for his customer. That fender, be it second party or Ford, cost him no more or less, and made him no more or less, to mount and paint. Chris' wife (who's name escapes me), runs the office with a gentle iron fist and if you're not happy with something, hell and high water will move to get someone in the office immediately who can see you to the right answer. She's knowledgeable and conversational, striking the right balance between professional and personal to keep the whole operation rolling. Chris' son Jason works in the shop with their family. He took the estimate on my car and we kicked around friendly for a bit while he walked around my car. We exchanged car stories, I asked about the business and I never once felt like I was a dollar sign, but a new friend. The people aside, the work was fantastic. You can't tell my car was ever hit. The paint blending was superb, which is good given that my car has a tan/gold metal fleck exterior paint. The body was straight. They fixed the tail light that blew out. They even re-secured a bit of body trim on my car door that hadn't been damaged int he accident but was coming up. When I picked up the car, I couldn't have been happier. Not only do I have a new body shop, I've got people I can trust to treat me right. I would feel comfortable going to any mechanic or automotive service they personally recommend. read more

I came to Chris and Julia when I first got rear ended last year. Chris did a fantastic job getting my bumper replaced with a new paint job. It looked like I never got rear ended. They used top quality paint and the best thing about it is that they got in done in less than a day (bumper was order ahead of time)!!! Fast forward to a few days ago, rear ended someone's spare tire and got my bumper and hood dented in (no one got hurt, but my car). Chris gave me a reasonable quote to get it fixed, as for the hood u can only do so much. He told me it would be quite expensive to get it replaced and suggest that he'll bend the metal back so it can close properly. Anyways, again Chris did a fantastic job, got my car all fixed up and within 2 hrs!!! Quicker than I expected it to be done, he had two guys working on it because he was concerned that I needed to get to work (had the day off bc i thought the work would take longer). To sum it all up: Excellent service and honest people! Definitely would come back to them if I need any body work done. Julia is fantastic as well, she drove me home and picked me up when my car was done. She's very accommodating, friendly and funny. We had a nice conversation during the drive. These guys are the best body shop I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot of them!). I'd experienced two not-at-fault accidents in as many months. Since Seven Eleven is a preferred shop under my insurance provider, and the Yelp reviews were good, I took a chance on them. They were so good that I took my car there the second time I was involved in an accident. The first visit definitely impressed me--they worked seamlessly with my insurance, and were able to finish repairs by the time I got back into town. The second visit was even better--they knew that I was going on vacation that weekend, and finished the repairs one day ahead of time. They even offered me a ride back to BART! The body work and paint blend made my car look like new, and everyone that I worked with there--from the owner to the manager to the mechanic who worked on my car--were incredibly respectful and friendly, explaining the entire process and timeframes to me up-front, and keeping me apprised of the progress the whole time. I had a damaged passenger side mirror that needed repair and camera refocusing - Chris and team were able to locate the parts immediately and repair the mirror perfectly in a day. Ok - that's where the great service starts - you add on other amazing customer care like free rides to and from BART by co-owner Julia (who is utterly DELIGHTFUL), great conversations (resulting in useful gardening and baking tips from Julia), lovely cups of Vietnamese coffee while I waited to drop off my car, and a washed car with a Thank You note in my passenger seat when I was finished. I had a pretty minor accident on the passenger side, however, both doors were affected fairly significantly. Having had only positive experiences in the past, I drove directly to the shop after the accident occurred. When I arrived, as usual, I was greeted happily and they were immediately attentive even though I didn't have an appointment. Given that this was my first accident, I was a complete novice as to how to begin the process. Chris and Julia greeted me right away, and the three of us negotiated the first step. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of car repair, suggestions as to how to make the best use of one's insurance coverage, giving you intelligent options as to how to get your car repaired, making it as painless as humanly possible.He spent a great deal of time, educating me about how to approach getting my needs met, including everything this would involve, from his door to my own. Aside from the expert knowledge and respect, they are some of the warmest, most caring people I've met especially in this type of business. They truly care about you,and the outcome of the work they do for you. In addition, their son Jason is as lovely and experienced so as a team you couldn't ask for more. After a car break-in, I was recommended to Seven Eleven Body Shop by Marty from Marty's Metrix. I expected to have to pay hundreds of dollars for the damage incurred but Chris did a little "popping in of this, popping in of that" and voila, much of the 'damage' I though I was going to have to pay for was fixed. I did have to fix my window however, and after getting a quote, Chris says, "you could get it for cheaper from ___ place." I chose to get the window done with him because I want to support honest and ethical businesses. These guys are are the real deal. From the moment you call in, to the second you leave with your car in great shape you'll love working with Julie and Chris at Seven Eleven. They've been in business there 31 years and they're the people to trust in auto body in the East Bay. When I brought my truck in the door wouldn't even close it had been smashed up so badly. Although they were busy working on a Lexus and a BMW when I came in, they took to time to come out and take a look at my cruddy old truck. And you know what, they fixed the door right there on the spot without a second thought. Chris, the owner, and his lead tech, both of whom have been there for 31 years, busted out their tools and just got down to business. And the kicker? I found this great place after I got a major ding in the right front plastic fender of my nearly new Honda Civic, via Yelp reviews. I wasn't sorry at all that I came here, actually far from it. First off they were the lowest of 4 competitive estimates I got and so I chose them. Their work was timely, very thorough and professional, and of the highest quality. Julie dropped me off at work at my downtown workplace when I dropped the car off in the morning. They finished on time as promised, and, with matching exactly a difficult metallic color on my fender, frankly my car now looks as good as it was when I drove it off of the Honda dealer lot brand new. And here's the kicker, not only did they do a top-notch repair job on the fender area, they practically detailed the rest of the car outside AND inside, such that overall, it was spotlessly cleaner overall that when I brought it in. It's been said by some that Customer Service in the U.S. is now dying. I strongly beg to differ with this firm. As far as I'm concerned, auto body work in the Bay Area simply does not get any better than this. I hope I never have to use them again, however, if the need ever arises, I'll be back for sure.
