Fresh and very tasty chicken salad sandwich!
    Mike J.

Driving down San Fernando Road at the end of the Burbank Airport runway I found Seventeen Cafe. It was lunchtime and the patio with umbrella covered tables was inviting. The menu includes and array of sandwiches, salads, and soups all of which sounded tasty. I chose the chicken salad sandwich with a side order of the stuffed grape leaves. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. The patio turned out to be well shaded and surrounded by a fence with a privacy screen which made this open air space feel very nice. The sandwich was made with fresh multigrain bread. The chicken salad was yummy accompanied by tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, pepperoncini and lettuce. All of the veggies were crunchy and fresh. So good! The stuffed grape leaves (always have to try the stuffed grape leaves when they are on the menu) tasted home made. The kind you would get as part of the offerings at a big family celebration! Yum! I loved my first visit to Seventeen Cafe. If I am in the area in the future I will definitely navigate here for lunch or just a quick snack. So glad I stopped by today!

Wholesome good food. I had a sandwich and soup and both were very good. Very clean facility and nice staff.

Roast beef sandwich with all the fixins.

Fantastic, super fresh. Best roast beef sammy and chx salad sammy. The muffins look like they're from Costco, but that's ok, get a sandwich.

Great service, delicious food, and cute patio. The food was delicious and made with care, the yard is really nice with plants all over. I will definitely be returning.

Extracted arugula and pepperoncini from the breakfast burrito. Pure sacrilege!

Seems my review is going against the grain, but it is what it is. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito. Description: scrambled eggs, cheese, green peppers, tomato and red onions. Nope. Wrong. Incorrect. Don't believe the hype. Instead I got scrambled eggs, MAYBE cheese, red peppers (no issue with different color), red onions, cabbage, pepperoncini, and lots and lots of arugula. There may or may not have been tomatoes in there. Usually veggies in a burrito are not crunchy. They're cooked and mixed in with the eggs. Nope, not in this burrito. Everything was crunchy. And let's talk about the obvious... arugula? Pepperoncini? Cabbage? Who sat there and decided these were a good idea for a burrito? They completely ruined the burrito in taste and texture and I'm simply not belonging. Absolute burrito sacrilege. If they added spinach that would have been acceptable but not crunchy lettuce! Taste-wise, same disappointment. No flavors jumped out at me whatsoever. I had to add Tabasco to get some flavor. Otherwise, bland and crunchy and not pleasant. They stuff it so deep with the arugula that when I pulled it out, the size of the burrito shrunk in half. (Photo of innards attaches.) Please, oh rule of the Seventeen Cafe kitchen, look up how to make a proper burrito and stop serving this horrific creation.

    Shaded patio seating!

Seventeen cafe is a little piece of heaven in an unexpected location. The cafe is in the middle of an industrial area in Burbank with unpaved roads in some portions which can make parking tricky but the visit is totally worth it. As soon as you step Into the cafe, you forget the hustle and bustle going on outside. The two women running the front counter are very sweet and quick to prepare your order. I tried the tuna sandwich on wheat with everything on it and a cup of their lentil soup. All of it was fresh and delicious! I highly suggest sitting in their small but shaded patio area, full of beautiful succulents! I like coming here on my lunch breaks because the food and the atmosphere both energize me and give me the fuel to finish my day!

Truly a diamond in the rough! Hours are really convenient for me so it was a treat to finally try this place out. Not sure if they have parking but I was able to find parking on seedy San Fernando Rd pretty nearby. Quaint little spot, where the sandwiches are served with simple and fresh ingredients. The two older ladies offer very friendly service at an affordable price. The establishment was extremely tidy, and I liked to cold salads/snacks they had to offer in the refrigerator. For eight dollars my sandwich was worth way more than I paid for

Ask the Community - Seventeen Cafe

Is this place open now, in August 2023? Their website says they closed on June 19th to do maintenance and the phone number doesn't work.

Yes we are open now and looking forward to see you!

Is seventeen cafe take out only or is there a dine in option?

There is a great little patio for eating in but you do order at a counter.

To have a place specializing in patties--my favorite part--felt like it was built just for me. Upon walking in, the staff were incredibly warm and attentive which confirmed I was in for something special. I ordered the jerk chicken, curry chicken, and veggie patty to get a lay of the land. I was given a hot sauce and a creamy aioli on the side and both were delicious additions. The patties were flaky, flavorful, and amazing, especially the curry chicken which was filled to perfection. I'm excited to try some sides and stuffed NY style patties next time. I've longed for the New York appreciation of the patty to make its way to LA, and I'm so happy The Patty Stop has landed here in Burbank. It's smoky, a little sweet, a little spicy -- and it hits in a way that feels layered, not just thrown together. The avocado, black beans, cabbage, and Impossible meat all worked together really well. And the Rocaway Rush smoothie?? That's the sleeper hit. Apple juice, coconut milk, berries... super refreshing and something I'd honestly go back for by itself. What stood out to me is that they're already thinking about vegan options early on. That matters, especially for a spot that just opened. No patties yet, but I was told they're coming; and when they do, I'll be back. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

We came on a weekend for brunch and they had already run out of menus at the front, so people in line were just standing there trying to figure out what to order with nothing to look at beforehand. The tables took a long time to be cleaned. Parking: Metered parking on the main street, but there's free parking at the garage near the AMC. Food: We got the Chilaquiles and Ribeye, Pastrami Burger, and two coffees, which was $72. For that price, I expected the food to have good flavor and quality. The coffee tasted super watered down, the pastrami burger was way too salty, and the fries came out cold. The ribeye was honestly the biggest disappointment. After hearing it was "the best ribeye around," I had high hopes and ordered it medium rare, excited to try it. The ribeye turned out to be a really small, thin cut of meat that was overcooked and tasted pretty cheap compared to how it's hyped up online. The chilaquiles were bland and soggy, and the beans were too. The whole meal just felt really underwhelming for the price. Service: Pretty minimal and slow. You order at the counter, grab a number, and they eventually bring the food out. Nobody checked in on us. Overall, Wild Carvery felt way overhyped from all the online reels and food posts. The food definitely did not live up to how it's portrayed online. The only thing I really liked was the location in downtown Burbank.
