Last year, a perfect job was done installing body side moldings on a new Mazda CX5. That same car brushed under a tree branch (oops) and scratches resulted on the roof. Fortunately a staff member rendered an opinion that the scratches could possibly be removed by using a liquid lacquer. And, he did what was needed, easily. Wow, was I impressed. Sure the mark had broken through the paint, I dreaded both the price tag and repair challenge, considering the car's paint is that tricky pearl white. Brad excused himself and momentarily returned with a cohort, spray bottle and clean white cloth, which they carefully applied all along the mark. It took a bit of scrubbing, but the mark disappeared! Brad could have taken the car in, merely cleaned it with his magic potion, kept it for however many days, presented it to me as "repaired" and charged me a tidy sum--which I'd have happily paid, delighted that the car looked like new. He charged me nothing. Not that I wish for another car booboo, but I certainly know where I'll go to get it fixed: GOTT AUTO BODY!

My experience with the service department this week did not go well. I began making calls for a 30K…read moreservice on my Miata beginning Monday around 10:00 a.m. The telephone tree seemed to be broken, because I had to punch the "2" key for service three different times before a human finally answered. I was immediately put on hold for 8.5 minutes then was disconnected. I called right back and went through the faulty telephone tree as before. This time instead of speaking to a person I was asked if I wanted a call back. I did. Two hours later, not having heard from the service department, I made another call. This again wound up with my being offered a call back. I again agreed and again received no call within a reasonable amount of time. A fourth call finally got me through to a service writer. An appointment was made for two days later at 8:15 a.m. I was told that the work would take 1.5-2.0 hours, so I elected to wait at the dealership for repairs. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told the wait would be a minimum of 3.5 hours. I called my wife to pick me up, disrupting both of our morning expectations. There's no excuse for that kind of stupidity. This service department doesn't appear to know what they're doing. When I finally retrieved the car, the bill was 150% more than what I was expecting. If I can find another Mazda dealer in the area, I doubt I'll be returning to Fitzgerald.

All the work was done to my satisfaction. Here is the kicker. June 2019, 3 and a half years later, I noticed the clear coat on the bumper was peeling. I took it back to the shop and much to my surprise, they took care of it at no charge to me. They even changed my front turn signal bulb that had blown out a couple days before. I went to Superior Autobody down the street where they treated me with respect and updated me every step of the way. You'd think because there are so many body shops on this street that treating customers well would be a priority. I guess Subway doesn't need my or my family's business. My car doesn't look like a Frankenstein car anymore and it was no thanks at all to Subway. I will have my son go to Superior next time.

I could hear the technicians working on cars talking to each other. Really positive and upbeat. The technician who fixed tire came out with the nail to show me what caused the problem. Very friendly and helpful. I expected a long wait and was OK with that but they took my car in right away and fixed the tire. The whole thing was under an hour. Highly recommend this business.
