I'm late in posting this review, but if your undecided about which seafood market to visit in Destin, you can't go wrong with Sexton's. Especially if your looking for shrimp, scallops, crab and red snapper in season . We have been to lots of seafood markets and many fish mongers in various locations and never have gotten the quality of seafood that we received here. We were able to cook better food at home than what we had eaten at any of the local restaurants. Also, I'm pretty sure they will pack it to travel if you want to take some fresh off the boat seafood home from vacation.

This place had a variety of fish and other seafoods. The staff was a bit rude and didn't really talk to us. We asked them to remove the scales and fins, but they were left on. The prices are a bit more expensive than we expected. The fish was fresh as it could be and they gave us ice to pack our coolers.

We have been trying to find a restaurant with good delicious grilled fish and I honestly haven't been able to find one so my husband told me he would be the chef and make it for me, and in this place you can find fresh delicious fish to eat and other varieties of sea food. I would definitely recommend this place if you like to cook yourself. Glad we found it! I had the best meal today the restaurants usually give you have of the fillet and lots of fresh fríes, here you can actually have a nice size filet.

We liked Blalock's a lot better. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it smelled fishy. The staff said they get the seafood from boats all through the day. The thing is, do they if it is Sunday? And do what are they going to do with the whole counter of shrimp that are sitting out currently if they are about to close? A good seafood place does not smell fishy. I made the shrimp we bought that night and they didn't seem very fresh. I have tried other local seafood shops and they were fresher and less expensive. They are cash only if you still decide to go.

Freshest seafood in Destin. We always load up a cooler of fish and shrimp from here before heading home. Would highly suggest.

Small but awesome! We came in to get a cooler and ice for fishing but came back later for the great selection of fresh crab and fish.

We went there while on vacation. While they have good seafood, they are very rude. They were rude both times. I will go somewhere else.

The shrimp were really good, I paid a lot for large shrimp and half my bag were small shrimp. Watch what they are giving you closely.

A fun detail is that the Destin family and the city of Destin have been closely connected ever since Leonard Destin, Dewey's great-great-grandfather, founded the settlement in 1835. Our server recommended the sheepshead, a local fish species. Until then, I had never even heard of sheepshead, which made the recommendation all the more interesting. We always appreciate tips like that, as trying something new is part of the fun of traveling. It tasted very good, although it was topped with teriyaki sauce and served with remoulade sauce. As a result, you don't really get much of the fish's natural flavor, but as a dish it was very enjoyable. The service was friendly and efficient, and we liked the place so much that we'll definitely be back. It helps that we also find the history behind it fascinating. The menu is quite varied, with plenty of dishes that sound tempting.

We did make a reservation a while in advance but it was not needed. There was only one other group dining at the restaurant while we were there. It's a huge restaurant so it was a little awkward saying we had a reservation when literally no one else was there lol. The food was good. Large portions. I had fresh oysters to start and I liked these. I then had a fried fish sandwich and I really liked the "comeback sauce" they put on it. Breaded really nicely and good flavor. Most of the people in our group enjoyed their meal! My friend has a dairy allergy and the server swore there was no dairy in her food but I think something may have slipped in because she wasn't feeling too great for a majority of the dinner following her appetizer of soft pretzels and entree of a salad.
