We had a great meal at Senor Crab Seafood. We stopped here on a Saturday evening on our way through town. The food was great! I had a shrimp & crab boil and my husband had fish and chips. Our server was very attentive and helpful when it came to choosing our meals. There are three distinct dining areas and we were allowed to choose the area that suited us best. Senior crab is a not spot to go to any day. The food and beverages are amazing, my daughters and I went on a Saturday it wasn't busy and we were met with friendly service. Karyme was our server and I want to say she is absolutely great at her job, she made sure we had everything we needed and checked on our party several times to make sure we were good. Was out and about roaming around Ennis and looking for a place to grab something to eat. I asked a local and got a bad recommendation and after roaming I stumbled across this little spot. So they have inside and outside seating, they aren't the larger establishment but they have a vibe and everyone was extremely friendly. We walked in and were told to take a seat anywhere we wanted. The waitresses came to get our drink orders and I'm gonna admit that I wasn't fond that there wasn't a menu, she basically named off a few "drink specials" so in doing so I didn't know the price of what I was ordering. We went with two margaritas - one frozen and one on the rocks with waters. While waiting for our drinks we looked over the menu and decided on the oysters, crab cakes, as well as one of the seafood specials (however once again there wasn't a price on the menu for the special). The waitress came back with the drinks and showed us on the wall the prices for the specials as they change and she assured us that it was big enough for us to share. Our appetizers finally made it to the table and I'll say this, the oysters I'd drive back for as they were huge, plump and delicious - I could have made a meal out of them - the crab cakes I wouldn't order again and regretted having this time. Why you ask - well to begin with they were burnt on the bottom - like black - they were mushy in the middle - there were no lumps of crab to make you feel like they were special, for all I know it could have been a tuna cake. Seriously, I regretted this one. The entree came to the table and she was right, it was enough for us to share! The one thing I didn't care for - this is a me personal thing - is that there butter has minced garlic at the bottom and eventually it becomes more garlic than butter - if they are trying to infuse the garlic it would be nice if they would strain the garlic out so im not eating chunks of garlic. The shrimp on the platter were a little over cooked for my liking and my sister was happy we went with the mild because she's not one for spicy and it offered some spice. Overall we had a good meal, we left stuffed and we would come again for the oysters. It's definitely worth the stop. read more

I ordered the catfish basket to go and got home and it was tilapia or something nothing close to catfish it was awful. On the other hand I have dined in 4 other times and the food was fantastic and plenty of it. The beer is cold and fair priced. Food and Ambiance was great, service was good just a little hiccup due to language difficulties with servers, but not a big deal. I had catfish and shrimp fried basket, both were delicious and very well prepared, shrimp was not typical over breaded that a lot of places serve, but just a light coating so you could enjoy the delicious shrimp. We got a crawfish boil here and the crawfish were boiled too long, the corn and potatoes weren't boiled long enough, but the sausage was very good. The flavor was pretty good, we both ordered the spiciest and mixed the flavors (not very spicy). Beer was real nice and cold. If i go here again id probably sit at the bar read more

The food is not bad, we have been 3 times and each time the service was horrible. The wait staff needs a lot of training. They are really slow and confused when requesting something as simple as a glass of Ice for the bottled coke. It took the manager and two wait staff to bring Ice. Each time we grabbed a table per the wait staff, then waited and waited for assistance. The tables around experienced the same. Again, this happened on 3 visits. Unfortunately, we did not feel the staff cared enough to go back a 4th time. FYI, I used to own a restaurant, we tip very well. I hope they spend some time on training staff. read more

Ordered the fish and shrimp basket, both of which were obviously frozen, not fresh. The shrimp were over cooked and not edible. Tried a side of red beans and rice which were so dry they almost looked like refried beans that had been sitting out for hours. Just not the best food. Well I tried this place for the first time.. I think it used to be a BBQ joint .. The place was kinda small. Bathrooms was a nice size. I started with a Long Island.. Tasted like a Minute Maid lemonade.. No alcohol. So I drank water for the rest of the evening.. We had to ask for a straw 3 times before our server brought us one. (Service subpar at best!) Started with the calamari. It was fRied so hard that we just didn't eat much of it.. The prices were quite expensive for the quality of food received.. We got the fried fish and shrimp basket with a pound of crab. The crab was old old.. and the catfish and shrimp was just like the calamari over cooked with no seasoning. The nail in the coffin was our bill was over $100 bucks and we had to get Chick-fil-A on the way home. Hard No for this place. read more

My wife and I have been here quite a few times and we used to enjoy it. The past three times we have went the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. Tonight we went and each got the #1 boil and a lb of crawfish, The Crawfish were definitely not fresh and tasted like they had been frozen and re boiled. I tried a couple and they all tasted like that, I made the waitress aware and she said "okay" noting else and I had to pay for them, (which isn't a big deal) but a "I'm sorry would you like something else" would have meant a lot. I'm not one to complain about food or service or ask to speak to a manager, but when it cost over $100 for two people to eat dinner, it should be good. Also the shrimp was still half frozen as well. Our meal came out to be $120, and it was definitely not worth it. We used to love going to this place but after tonight I will not spend another dime in there. read more

Margarita was good, beer was cold. That's about the best thing I can say. Raw oysters were good size but too watery to have any flavor. The two of us shared the 1# crab legs and a dozen shrimp. Way overcooked, shells soggy. For two drinks, shared oysters and dinner came to $88 tipped 15% even though service was poor. In addition, no clear prices listed on chalkboard menu. Went in on a Friday and the atmosphere was great! Great music and the drinks are delicious. I had the fishbowl margarita and my friends had mojitos and Paloma's, all AMAZING! Be ready to spend some money! It is a bit pricey, but affordable compared to Dallas seafood prices. I had The Catch #3 and it was enough to feed me for 2 days!! Friends shared some calamari and oysters and the #4, AMAZING! my server Valeria was so sweet and attentive and very patient when it came to answering questions about the menu. Service was good. Oysters were 4/5. Very fresh and large but not as flavorful as Atkins Seafood in Waxahachie. The fried shrimp basket was fair. Shrimp were tough and fries were battered. The hushpuppies weren't worth eating. Maybe the boiled items were better. read more
