Have only come for Taco Tuesday but what a great place for some very tasty mexican food. I really like their salsa and my son likes their queso (although it is a little bit thin). I also have tried their Enchiladas which I like chicken verde and try them everywhere. Theirs are very meaty and great sauce flavor. Inside is a bit run down and drank (and maybe it is for sale) but we will still be back to try more food. read more

SOLID 5 STARS! Do not judge a book by its cover! This location is a converted motel. Senor Taco takes up rooms 1, 2 and 3. I have noticed this place for years and there are always cars out front when they're open. I've also noticed that a lot of the people going in and out are Mexicans. Now I know why. This place is authentic! It is a cheerful little Mexican restaurant with knickknacks brought across the border by the owners and proudly displayed everywhere there's room. I was greeted by Mama Nina as soon as I walked through the door and told to sit anywhere I liked. I was immediately served with chips, salsa, hot sauce, a large glass of ice water, and a menu. Mama Nina saw my interest in the little house plaques behind the register and proudly pointed out her favorite. The salsa is smooth and easy to pick up with the paper thin homemade chips. Neither salsa nor chips were too salty. A lot of places will serve you salty chips and salsa so that you will drink more. Señor Taco isn't trying for the cheap sale. This is the real deal. I immediately ordered Guacamole and Chips ($10.99). The guacamole is obviously homemade, had just the right amount of spice, and was topped with a sprinkle of pico de gallo, instead of having it mixed into the guacamole. Easily matched the best guacamole I've ever had. For my entrée, I ordered the fajita trio ($29.69). This was also the best fajitas I've ever had. Large slices of steak, chicken, and perfectly grilled shrimp, smothered in green and red peppers and onions. Brought out on a hot metal plate with a wooden under plate and still sizzling from the grill. You can see the steam in the photo. A separate plate held yellow rice, scoops of sour cream and guacamole, two different kinds of cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. The beans were served in a small crockpot because it was almost like a soup! I mixed the rice with the beans and ate it with the spoon provided. There were easily enough mixings to make 8 fajitas but I was only given 3 flour tortillas, although I'm sure I would have been served more if I asked. There was no way I could eat everything on the table. When I was full Mama Nina deftly packaged my leftovers to go. This was easily the best Mexican meal I have had here in Florida. Well worth the $50 including generous tip. There is a business for sale sign in the window. I hope they are moving to a better location. It always surprises me to find excellent restaurants in little out of the way holes in the wall. I'll be back! read more

We got take out and I would definitely recommend dining in - the prices are cheaper and with the delicate taco shells, I bet they're even better fresh. I got the carnitas, pollo, and carne asada tacos, all were delicious but the pollo had a nice kick. The Mexican trio was a great portion for the price! Just ordered from there, food was so basic, lacked flavor. I ordered a chimichanga- it wasn't fried, just a plain burrito. My son ordered the quesobirra. Senor Taco is still my #1 go to Mexican restaurant. I hadn't been in awhile and recently went back and ordered my go to - steak wet burrito. It continues to be a 10/10. I don't know what they put in their red sauce but it's fantastic. Husband got 4 street tacos. The Mayan pork still is the #1 for both of us. His least favorite was the ground beef. Their salsa is my favorite! It's just so good. They also have a spicier green salsa and habanero salsa you can request. Both are fantastic as well. Our group of three went there for a late lunch--last Thursday --the place is small but very friendly--the very nice, two guys, new owners introduced themselves---we had delicious chips and very mild salsa. The tortilla soup was steaming hot and tasted wonderful with shredded chicken and hot thick home-made tortilla chips. Our Vegetarian lady friend had the Vege fajitas which were huge and savory. Then husband and I shared the giant Holy Moly 14" Wet style burrito--It was extremely good. Visiting someone in this area, and we both were hungry for Mexican food. Yelp to the rescue as always! The building isn't much to look at and the insides could use some fresh updates, but who cares when the food is so good?! We were greeted promptly and brought menus. We took a few minutes to peruse all the great sounding meals. I opted for the plantain covered in beef and cheese to split as an appetizer, and a fish taco. The plantain was nothing like I have ever had before. Split in half, covered in a beef mix, with cheese on top. It was so good, I would have it as a meal the next time. Fish taco was underwhelming. Needed two shells to help it stay together, but only came with one. A piece of, probably previously frozen, fish, deep fried, cut up with some cabbage besides. I'm the type of guy who enjoys creating or just experimenting with food rather than have everything neatly decided for me so I love it when I can find a place with excellent food and an entree that gives me some elbow room for mixing it up. It was worth it to walk about 1 1/2 miles to get to Senor Taco at 6447 Park Blvd. N. In St. Pete for those very reasons. I had worked up a healthy appetite by the time I'd gotten there and by no means was I disappointed. Fajitas are my idea of Mexican cuisine which lets me mix and match flavors and textures, having fun in the process and leaving me with a purring stomach. Senor Taco knows just how to cook all of the ingredients perfectly. The tortilla shells (flour, although you can also get them as corn based) were warm, soft, almost buttery yet still sturdy enough to hold two chicken pieces, fried green peppers and onions, shredded cheese, raw onions and tomato and guacamole in it without falling apart. The chicken comes not from tenders or in processed form but from the bird itself. Those pieces were tender, juicy, cooked through without any presence of gristle, fat, sinew or bone - all breast meat. The green peppers, onions and tomatoes were grilled just right to maintain their juices yet still tender with that visual and gustatory presence of just the right amount of char as the greens and reds were still vibrant. The meal comes with a warm bowl of beans in their juices, topped with sliced chives. I didn't have any, however, as my stomach has a very difficult time digesting them. I could tell by the aroma, however, that they would have been very mellow in taste. Service is great. My waiter was friendly and suggested some tasty options before I settled on the fajita. It's a full meal yet didn't leave me stuffed unpleasantly. The flavors seem to melt in the mouth and meld nicely in the stomach. I highly recommend eating there. The atmosphere is cafe but the flavors are so worth the trip. read more

What luck to happen to arrive on a taco Tuesday here !! So it was super last minute but the family wanted to grab a quick bite and as we all know tacos never fail . Having ate my fair share of insanely good tacos on the west coast , these were pretty solid in their own right. Let's start with the beef , it's very moist , the taco might drip if you don't hold it very carefully you have been warned :). There's definitely some cumin in there we'll seasoned not overly salty , solid taco 8/10 for me . The Mayan gold was some of the best pork tacos I've had in a while. There's some nice radishes on top and the pork is juicy. I would have loved to grab some homemade flan or the dessert empanada but I have left over dessert at home lol. We are pleasantly surprised and very much enjoyed our meals. We normally go to places that are recommended by someone we know. We went here, sight unseen, solely on Yelp recommendations. I'm happy to say we have no regrets! We ordered take out, over the phone, the man's very efficiently took our order and was told 15 minutes (wow!). I drove over using a navigation app which routes me through a neighborhood, I was concerned I was going to the wrong place. Nope, it brought me out to Park Blvd and to the restaurant, very unassuming. I was greeted by a man at the counter and then was taken to the register, they confirmed the order contents, offered different sauces, rang me up and I was in my way, again efficient and friendly. We ordered the Sopa Maya, shrimp tacos, beef quesadilla and steak taco dinner with beans and rice. The soup was excellent, tender shredded chicken and the shrimp tacos were well seasoned but not too spicy. The quesadilla came with shredded lettuce and pico, both fresh. Tacos, beans and rice served hot and tasty. Again, well seasoned but not spicy. We were very happy with our meals and can recommend the food and pleasant service to anyone without hesitation. They defy the saying that divey, hole-in-the walls are the best. They were the worst. Taco Bell would've been a better option for us tonight, considering what we paid. The beans were squeezed out of a can, you can taste it. The rice tasted like the sleeves of yellow rice by Vigo or Goya you can find at the grocery store in the "ethnic" food section. The Mayan bbq pork was dry. The chips and queso only come with a skimpy, half basket of chips. If you ask for more so you can finish your dip, they warn you there's a charge for it. We came here as opposed to other larger, more frequented spots because we want to support small local businesses. We were so disappointed. We won't be back. read more

Stopped in for taco Tuesday and glad I did. The Mayan pork is made with real spices grown in Mexico, and we're moist and delicious. The beef tacos has their own authentic taste as well! After reading many great reviews we decided to give Señor Taco a try the other afternoon and are glad we did. It's a quaint little family run restaurant that has a festive seemingly authentic feel walking in and the door and the smell in the air wreaked of great Mexican comfort food. The complimentary Chips & Salsa was very good, warm crisps chips and what tasted like house made Salsa, also very good. We had seemingly inhaled them so we got another order of Chips & Queso Dip $6.5 and the Queso was OMG GOOD! We then each ordered 3 taco's, a "Taco Pobré", a "Fish Taco" and a "Chile-Queso" and a side of "Re-Fried" beans. The poor man's taco (Pobré) was simply re-fried beans, cheese & salsa and was delicious. The "Chile-Queso" was sautéed vegetables on a flour tortilla, it was good, not wowing and for $6 - I wouldn't order it again. The fried "Fish Taco" was absolutely delicious $3.5 with its tasty, crunchy fried fish pieces topped with pico & spicy-mayo. The Fish Taco's were soo good we ordered two more! Their refried beans $3 were wonderful. The restaurant was fairly crowded and appears to be a long time staple for good authentic Mexican cuisine in central Pinellas Park. All in all it was a very good visit but we both felt that the portions were small for some of the prices. There are several items that are very, very good and we will be returning customers, but a little more discriminating on what we order. I still highly recommend a try, I will be returning and if a few items were either increased in portion size or priced more appropriately, I would've rated it at 5 stars! read more

Stopped in to get a takeout order. Masks were required to enter and staff was all wearing them. No outside seating so we did take out. We are some chips and salsa while we waited for the order. Salsa is delicious- not too spicy. It's homemade. Excellent service - everyone was so nice. Got a beer while we waited for the order. I ordered the carne asada burrito. It was really good- came with guac, sour cream, lettuce and beans. I ate half for dinner and then the other half for lunch the next day. My husband got the enchilada and he liked it. Yesterday we were craving Mexican food for lunch. Our craving led us to Senior Taco. Our experience was a mix of very good & just average. The inside of the restaurant was relaxing & comfortable. The server was friendly & did a great job. I ordered a combo plate of 1 taco, 2 enchiladas, rice, & beans. We were also served chips & salsa. The chips & salsa were definitely average tasting with a lack of any spice or seasoning. Our plates arrived & looked very tasty. As I started eating I again noted no bursting flavor. Rather bland to be honest. The waiter returned & I shared with him my impressions, & he brought me back a little plastic cup of a special green sauce they make in the back. This sauce was gold!! It was a full of delicious flavor, it had a little heat, & it finally made Senior Taco stand out a little. I poured it on everything & it saved the meal. Seriously the enchiladas & taco were very small & bland prior to the new green sauce. The rice & beans were extra bland & dull. So I can't say enough about the special green sauce they brought me. Amazing food at incredible prices. The day before I had lunch at a moderately priced restaurant that came out to $33. Here, a meal for two came out to $18. I wish I could bold and underline that number - it's absolutely bananas. Not only is it insanely cheap, but the food is delicious as well! I got the Taco Salad with chicken and wow. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and there was a huge amount of it! Every bite was chock full of chicken. The shell was a bit oily, but what do you expect when you fry a giant taco shell. I definitely did not eat the whole shell, but I'm questioning my commitment to being a foodie that I left some behind. Like others have said, this is a legit motel looking building. Even the person I met who didn't read any reviews said the building looks like a motel - it's that obvious. Who cares. When the foods this good I sure don't. It's so sketchy driving up. Obviously was an old motel so with that said, it has 3 front doors. Decor is basic and not much to look at and TV's playing the nightly news play in the background just like my grandpa's house at dinner time. My date kept looking over my shoulder & would discuss the tragedies being covered - Lovely. Yes, that's sarcasm. I put their name to the test & simply ordered 2 crunchy beef tacos. I INHALED the pre-meal chips & salsa. The salsa was the BEST salsa I've ever had. PERIOD! Not spicy but not bland= effin' perfect. Tacos came. They make their own crunchy taco shells!!!!! It was so crunchy and perfect. I cannot say enough about the tacos without sounding like a babbling taco-obsessed idiot. I definitely will be back for more tacos! Based by the reviews we went. I know I've said it before in my reviews but either you have to be drunk or only use to McDonalds to actually think this place is good. And those who think its authentic Mexican food clearly has never had it. Chips are store bought and horrible. salsa gross. Beef tacos my son said was axx tacos and nasty. I got 1 small little chicken taco and they were going to charge me $9 for it! It was flavourless outside of the glob of sour cream which is needed because the 3 tablespoons worth of chicken was so dry and flavourless you couldn't chew without it. The plantains came out looking like they were chunks of charcoal. The worst food ever. Gross. I guess anyone can open a restaurant and call it a taco and people will think its good. read more
