We are very cautious of where we go for any Asian cuisine. Our daughter is severely allergic to MSG and every derivative of it. So the day we tried SF and she didn't have any problems was wonderful. The summer rolls are one of my favorite things to get every time we go. My go to dish is the vermicelli noodles with bbq pork and I steal my husbands been sprouts. Having a place we can trust every time we go or when they are sick and are looking for pho is amazing. read more

I am profoundly impressed with this place! My first impression walking in was that it was beautifully decorated and very clean. We were warmly greeted by the owner (which my mom happened to know from years ago-small town lol) and our waitress. We were seated and I couldn't stop looking around at the eye catching wall decorations and tasteful wall colors. It was very visually pleasing to the eye. I took a trip to the ladies room to wash my hands and was ecstatic to see more aesthetically pleasing decor. My senses were happy so I could only imagine what was to come. Now, on to the food; egg rolls- perfect, potstickers- perfect, spring rolls- perfect, pho-perfect. Everything was so delicious and presented on the plate gorgeously. Remember, you eat with your eyes first and if the food tastes just as good as it looks you are just grand! I couldn't finish my giant bowl of pho so I wanted to take it home. The kind waitress assisted me in putting it in the to-go container, which I am thankful for because I would have made a huge mess. It's easy to say that I will definitely be returning very soon. Ordered their pho with rare beef, flank, and meatball but i think they got the order wrong because it didn't include any meatballs. The meat that was in it was big chunks of beef on bones which is a bit different from typical vietnamese pho, which has thinly sliced beef. read more

The hot sour soup is the best i have EVER eaten The Vietnamese bbq pork with steamed rice is the BEST i have EVER eaten. And all served well by the most friendly, bunch of ladies ever. They're back! I was so excited to hear that the original owners of Sk Noodle were back and opening up a new restaurant. I have been a long time customer of theirs... and as soon as I walked in she immediately recognized me and gave me a huge hug! I was so pleased! !! So as usual I sit down, the place has been totally revamped and brightened up from the dark Thai restaurant it once was. The tables and Chairs are classic and clean. The ambiance is perfect for casual lunch/dinner dates . I ordered the spring rolls to start.... delicious and I love that they use dark green lettuce instead of iceberg which some places do alot of here in Reno. Then came the #4. Rare beef and flank. I was craving Pho all week so this hit the spot. Their broth was delicious and fresh, the flank didn't have sooooo much fat on it that you couldn't eat it. It was tender amd almost fell apart in your mouth. All in all I was very pleased and satisfied with my visit to their new restaurant. I will definitely be back! Worst Vietnamese food I've ever had. Pho 777 and Golden Flower are far better. Overpriced menu. You have to pay for egg roll if you want one with your meal where other restaurants include that as part of the meal. I was told that I will get what I paid for .... Well not exactly true. I ordered to go. There was no hot sauce nor plum sauce packed with my food. I ordered vermicelli noodles with pork. The sauce that came with it tasted more sweet and sour rather then zesty garlic vinegar mix. I don't recommend this place. This was my first and last time. read more

I was a little sad that the old business Thai Nakorn closed down in this place so I tried out this business with my boyfriend to see what was up. We were greeted well and sat down. They had a wide set of options ranging from Vietnamese Pho to Americanized Chinese dishes. I ordered the oxtail pho and my boyfriend did with the Mongolian beef. The Mongolian beef was REALLY yummy. The meat was so soft that it could just melt in my mouth. The sauce was just right. My order of the oxtail pho was alright as well. Though I felt like the pho needed a little bit more flavor. The meat was tender though which I liked a lot. The service can be improved and the ambiance too. I'll be trying out this place again. read more

Went on Christmas night. With barely any restaurants open, they were packed and doing a great job with accommodating the crowds. We waited a little while and we're seated as soon as a table was available for us. They were on top of seating quickly when tables would leave. We had been looking at the menu so when our awesome waiter came around we put in our order right away. After receiving our food, a very large table stormed out because they didn't get served before us, (although I'm sure we put our order in before them). They acted like spoiled brats and they aren't even worth mentioning, but I mention them because the employees remained so professional and positive. I will definitely return to this restaurant and recommend them for their good food and great service. read more

Since I am not a regular Vietnamese food eater, I am giving SF 4 stars, but in my book it is a 5 as I was "Wow'd"! This place has been opened 5 months and it was well run; the front end and the dining room are decorated for a great ambience; food was great. I ordered 3 dishes for my daughter and I, the recommended salt and pepper pork chop as well as the special of the day - tomato and bean curd hot pot (with beef) and the chicken pho. The hot pot was great as served - I added no additional condiments-I love tomato and beef together, in any cuisine, and it really stayed tremendously hot - it was bubbling under the lid when served. The salt and pepper pork chop was sliced into pieces, fried and served with dried red chilis, onion and garlic - smelled divine! Great spicy taste-beware of bones :) the plain chicken pho had a nice mild sweetness to the flavorful broth and was very satisfying. (no condiments were served with it like lime wedges - not sure if we needed to ask or if it a regional thing?) The menu includes traditional Chinese food and lower luncheon pricing on a variety of dishes. Awesome new restaurant... Well not exactly new since it appears the owners are the former owners of SK noodles in Sparks. Nice of them to think about us Renoites. Mostly the same traditional Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Our family did the usual appetizers , spring roll, egg roll, and chicken salad. Everything was seasoned perfect. Then came our entrées. We all kinda picked on each other dishes because they all were delicious. My wife had the Tofu Stir Fry on a bed of vermicelli noodles. My sister in law had the Crispy Chowfun bowl style(only place in town that does it). I had the oxtail pho and my brother in law got the spicy beef noodle soup. Everything was flavored just right. My only gripe and I told the head chef that my Oxtail pho came with too much noodles. So after adding my condiments, my bowl was packed. But I rather have more noodles than not enough so it wasn't a biggie. Add delicious food with friendly servers and nice owners, it's a 5 star in my book. read more

I just moved up here from Las Vegas where we have some amazing Vietnamese restaurants and some of the best pho in the country. I'm not the type of person that wants to leave negative reviews on any businesses unless they are horrible. They were not horrible here. The service and taste of the food was decent. My issue was portioning. I love pho and I've been enjoying it for years. I have NEVER seen a bowl of pho with such a small amount of meat. There may have been 3-4 small pieces of meat in the entire bowl. That's not even half of what SHOULD be provided in a large bowl of pho. I asked for more meat and was charged for it, which I get. But the amount of meat given at the beginning needs to be addressed. I will not be returning because of this. I sincerely hope management takes a look at this because I know I won't be the only customer who feels this way about the portioning. It's honestly ridiculous. read more

This place has one of the best pho broths in this whole town! I really enjoy their summer rolls as well, that is actually my favorite thing on the whole menu. Spring rolls with peanut sauce are also delicious but really nothing beats those summer rolls. Their cold Vietnamese noodles with barbecue meat are also good, especially if you add a fried egg. Unfortunately, the Chinese food here is not so great and I was not a fan of any of the dishes I've tried. Service is not the best here but food is worth it. For appetizer the Eggs rolls were very tasty and I enjoyed that it came with lettuce. My husband and I had our mail meal (at our usual 3 p.m. - we're retired) here today. My husband had the pork chow mein, which was the usual - mostly noodles with a little meat and veggies. I had the chicken-and-salty-fish fried rice, which was delicious! I will order this again and again, and I'm not a big fried rice fan. Our beer was served with icy glasses, and the egg drop soup was good. The service was outstanding. The only problem I see is their less-than-ideal location. Right next to the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel - So instead of having GSR's terrible imitation "pacific rim" cuisine, where their pho is made of chicken or vegetarian broth, why not have real Vietnamese & Chinese food at SF kitchen? Egg rolls were crispy perfection and Bun Bo Hue noodle soup had rich spicy broth with filling wide rice noodles. Plus, you can eat without the cigarette smoke that permeates the GSR hotel restaurants. read more
