It's a rib joint. I smelled it before I saw it. Smoker is located in the parking lot and was being tended by the kind of guy who should be tending a smoker. Service was good. I ate in but they have a drive thru. It's counter service. Staff was polite and presented well. I had the half rack of ribs( about 8 bones) and pulled pork potato. Ribs were cooked well, nice bark. The did not remove the skin from the back and it did affect the pull but that's a minor gripe. Sauce was solid. I had red but white was available. Pulled pork on the potato was excellent. Good texture and flavor. Price was very reasonable. I have paid a lot more for meals I have enjoyed less. Good value overall. read more

Nothing to complain about Shababy's! This place is easy to miss if you don't know it is there. Their sign isn't illuminated. It is between SureSave pharmacy and Redstone Federal Credit a Union on AL53 in Harvest. Their chicken was fantastic--flavorful & moist! The Catfish was also good. Hush puppies were fresh and fantastic. Service was great--they have several teenagers working for them, but they are trained, want to be there & it shows. Their sweet tea is real, ya'll. The Banana Pudding is not something to miss. The portion is just right and it is great with a nice touch of meringue on top. Their health score is a repeat 100. The inside isn't a lot to write home about, but one doesn't go to Shababy's for the atmosphere. Minus one because they were out of all real cola products. I have driven by this place and finally got the chance to stop and try it. I was not disappointed! The ribs were very good! They have a dry rub on them. It compliments the meat very well. Prices are not too bad and the service was good. Had to wait on the food a little bit but it was worth the wait. They offer several other options including fish and sandwiches. Their chicken tenders dipped in mild and honey gold sauce is so good! I also love their bologna sandwiches in the mornings!

We like the beans and ribs. Sometimes the ribs aren't smoked long enough, but when they are they are really good.

Food is great. Sometimes doesn't answer their phones, but when they do answer we enjoy their wings.

The food is usually always good unless you get it cold smh. The employees truly act like they hate for you to call and place an order over the phone. They sound so unhappy they're having to be there that day. Then when you do a call in, theres usually someone in front of you that came in and had just ordered their food so mines cold now bc I had to wait on them to cook theirs instead of them having them pull around bc it takes an average of 10-15 per order. These hard to find - hole in the wall places to me, are where you find your favorite spots... The staff knows how to fix whatever you choose from their menu - to perfection. They are very reasonably priced - with very generous portion sizes - with a staff that treats each of their customers as if they are the best of friends! I've never done the sit down and eaten inside - as I live close and take it home, but no matter what you order, you'll be well fed at a reasonable cost. Review of the new location in South Huntsville. Not good at all. I had a to go order of the 1/2 rib plate with double fries for myself and a loaded baked potato for my wife. The way this location is set up allows the customer to see and hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the kitchen. It was about 4:30 so there was only me and 2 other customers in the restaurant. The girl that took my order went into the kitchen and carried on a conversation about which French fries were old and which ones were fresh. The guy walked over to her and explained how the old/fresh fries are separated. Needless to say, I was the winner of the old fries that had probably been sitting there since lunch. The fries were ICE COLD and had the dense texture of fries have that have been sitting for an extended period of time. The ribs were tender but ICE COLD and had an awful smoke flavor. Let me clarify, I LOVE smoked flavored ribs..... but not these smoke flavored ribs. The smoke overpowered everything else about the ribs. It wouldn't shock me if the ribs had been sitting for an extended period of time like the fries. One last minor thing, they left out one of my extra bbq sauces that I ordered. Small detail, but a reflection on the attitude of girl taking the order. So in summary, bad ribs at a rib joint, ice cold / old fries and an incorrect order is a failure on every level. There have been numerous restaurants that open and close in this location and I FULLY EXPECT Shababy's to be the next failed restaurant here. I won't ever step foot in there again. read more

Good, not great. Service is fast and friendly. There's a fan blowing across the seating area that is cold and blowing my napkins away. The pork BBQ sandwich is ordinary, and a tad dry. If there is sauce to add, I don't see it around. The primary flavor of the baked beans was the black pepper, which was ok, just strange. The banana pudding was mostly wafers with some pudding, and not much banana. The sweet tea is very good, but I won't go out of my way to eat here again. read more

We stopped here on our way back to Nashville from the space museum. A few things about this place. I feel the food was good, not outstanding, but good nonetheless. My issue with the place is the phrase, "I'm going to have to charge you extra." Every little thing was Nickel and dimed. Want water? Extra 50 cents. Each. (We only ordered water because they were taking apart the soda machine at 5:45pm). Want to try the white sauce and the bbq sauce? Extra. Everything is extra, and their prices are already pretty high. They get 2 stars for the friendly staff and one more for the good sides. This may not be fair to some, but I review almost all bbq places on the quality of their ribs and this was one of the worst experiences as far as the ribs go. I have never had tougher or colder ribs at a restaurant. The sauce was mediocre at best. But as I said before the staff and the side dishes were really quite enjoyable, just order something other than the ribs for your main course. read more
