Very fast with the meat, had myself on a time limit smaller than the one set by the restaurant (restaurant gives 1:30, I had maybe an hour) and I still got full til I felt sick Good choice in music, place felt open to have good laughs, while eating good food

I ate so much Wagyu at Shabuya at Ala Moana Center for lunch on Father's Day that I had to walk it off. The alternative would have been me just falling asleep in my car. Excellent service that was quick to bring out more orders and they took away used dishes right away. The servers were always around to fill a glass of water or to ask if we needed more broth. At $30.99 I would definitely come back.

The rating would have been a two but our waiter was great! We had a party of 16 and waited two hour for our table after they had given half of our tables to another family. After complete chaos with straightening out the seating we went to get our food and it was a mess. One side did not have any plates, there was sauces all over the counter and the staff refilling the vegetables were rude. Thankfully our waiter made the rest of our experience better.

Came here for lunch as it was a good deal. Server was fast and took drink, broth, and meat orders. Meat came out fast and then waited for the broth. Server came often to check up on us. Lots of self-serve veggies and other options to choose from. A good selection of meat as well. Definitely worth the price for lunch! Highly recommend!

Friday February 27, 2026 first time, coming here. Plenty parking. Wait time 5 minutes. AYCE lunch is $22.99. You have 90 minutes from start to finish. Broth 5 to choose from. Appetizers 4 to choose from. Protein 6 to choose from. Not too many different choices to choose from. But, still good. Easier to make your choices. Plenty different vegetables and other things to choose from. Service is fast. Food is good. Ambiance is casual and comfortable inside. We will come back again. When the weather is cold is perfect to come here. To warm you up and to fill you up at the same time.

We signed in at the front and waited for approximately 2 minutes for a table of two to open up. Service is quick, Items are fresh, Beers come out quick, Personal pots for eating. You order the meats to the table, everything else like noodles, vegetables and sauces are all up at the buffet. We were helped by "Anna" today, who was very helpful with us as first timers. All items are fresh and lunch special was great. Wifey got an adult capri sun drink with alcohol, and she raved about it. Will definitely be back.

While I was on vacation, I came here for dinner with some friends. Our server, Soju Bomb, brought us our soups and the first round of meats quickly, which allowed us to start eating pretty fast. I really liked the variety of items you could choose from the self-serve bar. The rest of our meal went well, thanks to our server checking in on us and taking our new orders of meat often. Highly recommend and would come back again!

Good Oahu spot for premium Shabu Shabu. $30.99 per person gets you unlimited portions of everything! There is a solid meat selection, comprised of various beef cuts, as well as some pork and chicken. I personally went with different types of beef and it was great. It's so thin-sliced, that you throw it into your boiling broth and it's ready for you within a minute. You could tell by the taste that the meat was high quality. Most beef cuts were melting in my mouth, especially when dipped in the wild, elaborate sauce combination that I created at the sauce station. To accompany the meat that's being brought to your table, there is a huge self-serve bar that offers a rich variety of veggies and a solid selection of raw seafood with the likes of blue crab, shrimp, baby octopus, mussels and swai fish. I personally loaded up on bok choy -- a huge a fan of its texture and taste once boiled. The sauce station consists of around 8 kinds of dipping sauces, different in taste and its thickness. A few dudes in front of me operated like pros, so I got an advice for some good sauce combinations and it was great! After I fully set myself up at the table with all the veggies, the meats and those dipping sauces, everything else was a breeze. The broths by the way, were outstanding and rich in flavor. My wife went with the original and I tried the spicy miso. Overall, a very good experience. The food was very tasty, the place was modern and clean and the customer service from our waitress was phenomenal. I will definitely take note and will come back here when I'm in Oahu again!

I come to Shabuya at least once a week because it never disappoints. The ingredients are always fresh, the meat quality is great, and even though the place is always busy, it's spacious enough that it doesn't feel overwhelming. My favorite parts are the little touches -- the chewy Korean-style corn, the pumpkin, and especially the way you can finish your meal with a bubbling pot of kimchi, glass noodles, and half a pack of ramen. It's absolute comfort food and tastes amazing every single time. The only downside? You definitely leave with the smell of hotpot on your clothes But honestly, it's worth it. Highly recommend if you love shabu shabu and want a satisfying, consistent meal every time!

This was my first time here and it was great. The workers are very accommodating and helpful. We were seated at a wobbly table so the server helped us move. 8 meats are allowed per round so that was helpful. The server explained appetizers, drinks and rice would all be served through him and the seafood, noodles and veggies are a help yourself buffet spread. The 90 min time allowance was perfect for my group of 3 and everyone was really happy with their choices. Gratuity is added for groups of 6 or more and I would definitely return!

This is definitely worth a 4.5/5. We recommend getting on the wait, right here on Yelp before arriving! It'll definitely be busy but once you're in the speed of service is amazing! The vibes range from casual to a little dressy depending on the occasion you're celebrating. The food was so good and you get appetizers included in all you can eat. The portions you get are great and would recommend. The price is good for all that you get and emphasis and what you CAN eat!

This review is for the service. The food was great, fresh and lots of seafood to choose from. I arrived half an hour before the dinner rush, which was nice. We got seated right away. The gentleman assigned to our table didn't seem too enthused so we made our order and never asked for anything more. He never came around to refill the broth, water, nor asked if we were doing ok. We felt like he was rushing us to leave. The restaurant wasn't full so it's not because people were waiting on our table. I used my debit card to pay for the bill on the handheld machine. It was defaulted to 20% tip. I was like seriously? I decided to be nice and do my part and give him the 20% tip. Lawd knows he really didn't deserve it with us.

Tonight was disappointing. To start, the server rushed our order for broth and meat, and said that we'd get waters shortly and another would come to take drink orders, which never happened. One of the burners wasn't working at our table, but to their credit they provided a portable burner shortly after I told them. We received our rounds of meat in decent time, but towards the end we had to wait quite a while with empty trays for the server to take another meat order. This was also my mother's birthday, which I let the server know in the beginning. Later, he did bring it up along with the bill to discreetly ask for her name, but to my surprise, after paying the bill and finishing up, no birthday cheer. To rub salt in the wound, they cheered for another table's birthday while our table was getting cleared out by another worker. Can't even remember their name because the nametags have some hashtag and phrase. Good job guys, ruined my parent's birthday dinner. Thanks!

If you come with a big appetite, you might spend more than you would at AYCE, but the meats and vegetables here are very high quality. The broths that we tried were all very tasty - the Chinese Sauerkraut Soup is very unique - definitely sour but not unpleasantly so. The spicy soups have a strong mala flavor that will make your tongue and lips numb, but be careful, the "Hale Medium Spicy Soup" is already pretty spicy, and the "Hale Spicy Soup" is very spicy! Everyone gets their own pot and soup here, so you can order to your own spice level. We got a half yard of the beef toro which was nice and fatty as well as a half yard of the beef shank which was much leaner. Ordering both gave a nice balance between the meats. The seafood and vegetable sets are also well thought out, but you can always order individual items if you don't want everything in the set. There is no sauce bar - your soup comes with a choice of dipping sauce instead. It's usually not too crowded and the service is friendly and efficient. You pick your broth and meats up front, then head to the refrigerators in back for the rest, which makes the whole meal feel more practical than theatrical. The room is no-frills, the service is solid without being especially warm, and the BYOB policy fits the place better than any design effort would have The draw is still the broth. The beef broth really does drink like pho broth, and the restaurant's own menu more or less admits that by calling it a favorite for pho lovers. The tom yum has real sharpness and stays lively through the meal. The meat selection is broader than the room suggests, with ribeye, short rib, lamb, pork belly, pork shoulder, tripe, and tendon all on the menu. The vegetable and noodle selection is also better than average: bok choy, choi sum, ong choy, watercress, taro, lotus root, bamboo shoot, enoki, king oyster, fresh saimin, udon, glass noodle, vermicelli, and pho noodle, among others What holds it at 4 stars is that the math can get a little awkward. It is not expensive plate by plate, but somehow the total often lands near all-you-can-eat territory, except without the same range. Although if you were to ask my wife, this a solid 5 star place. Still, that misses why people come here. This place feels built around broth first, not abundance for its own sake, and that makes it easier to forgive a sauce station that is merely fine and a service style that does the job without much flourish

For the longest time I thought it was called "Sexy Szechuan" but it was just an abbreviated name of the restaurant. It would be my second time here, trying their STIR-FRIED BEEF with Pickled Chili and Garlic Fried Rice. First time was about three years ago trying a noodle dish which I forgot which one. lol Anyway, they are family size portions and would have to order the dishes separately, which you can request for rice (white or fried rice). I highly recommend getting your dishes with Fried rice. So much flavor for a basic dish. I don't know that day I guess I was either extra hungry or it was that good I scarfed it down with the Beef. There is spicy chilis in the dish so be careful with each bite. I ordered it mainly for the extra kick, but if you're unable to eat spicy food, there is another dish that's similar with no chilis. Since I wasn't able to eat all of my food,I asked the server for two boxes and she was nice enough to pack it for me to take home. I ate it the next day and it was still delicious. Now that's quality .

Since then whenever I see a Szechuan restaurant I look for spicy eggplant with garlic sauce which was a dish we always ordered back in the day. Never have found it once. ANYWAY, I happened to drive by SXY Szechuan when entering second floor Ala Moana Mall parking lot, and circled back on foot to check it out. The window had a 50% promotion on Kung Pao Chicken for dine-in only, so they got me in the door. It's an attractive clean space with wonderful helpful staff. Hostess and waiters get an A+. The kung pao chicken was probably the best I've had, but was a little different in that it seemed to be breaded and fried chicken pieces instead of just sautéed chicken. Highly enjoyable, especially at $10. There was some really intriguing stuff on the menu, but also a feeling that perhaps they should have gotten a native English speaker to tweak the dish names. The menu leads with a dish made with "offal" which does not burnish the appetite after you've spent a few seconds wondered what "offal" might be and why you would want to eat it. Also "fungus"... there has to be better English word for this. There were a lot of different dishes I haven't seen on other Chinese menus that I'd like to try, including potato dishes like crispy fried shredded potatoes, brown sugar ice jelly, pickled long beans with minced meat (I was just reading about how good long beans are for you) and stir fried eggplant with green beans. None of those seem to include offal :) Anyway I'd be delighted to go back; it was a great experience and seemed reasonably priced for Ala Moana. And there's free parking right outside the door.

Ambiance: casual Food: a great place to satisfy Szechuan cravings. Would recommend getting their spicy dumplings (so good). Also tried their sweet potato noodles and it was like a more chewy rice noodle. Would also recommend getting their mung bean drink (with free refills) that goes well with their spicy dishes.

Service was excellent. The nice lady checked in on us several times and provided extra napkins and refills. Ambiance: cozy. As with their sister restaurants, scan the qr code and order away. I really liked the variety and being able to order sides or small dishes. The mung bean soup is delicious and served chilled. They do give free refills. This was my first time trying it, and 10/10 would order again. Mini hot and sour wonton: first time trying and won't be my last. 10/10 Beef pancakes were good, slightly different from Mian and Bao, and delicious. Ice Jelly: good cooling dessert. Not too sweet. Perfect finisher for all the spicy food. Pickled sides: I really loved the spicy back fungus. I'm a huge sucker for woodear mushroom so I was also glad I could order a side of it just to toss into my soup! So good! Everything was really good, and I can't wait to try something new as we make our way through their menu.
