The parking in front is a little tricky, maybe 10 spaces but very limited. We almost gave up and went to another place but we drove down Young street and found street parking. Walked in and no line, got seated right away. Menu and water brought to us as we sat down. Didn't really need the menu as my friend already recommended the $9.99 monthly special. I had looked over the menu the night before and wondered if I need to level up to the $15.99 one but my friend who has a much better appetite than I do said I think the $9.99 one should do. Placed our order and it took a little bit to come out but not very much. Our burner went out a couple times but our waiter figured out there wasn't enough air flow and everything was fine. Definitely glad I didn't go for the $15.99 one as I was quite full after the meal. Unlimited rice for those who want/need it. I was told that each month the "second" meat is changed but the Kalbi remains the same. Guess we had good timing as the restaurant was full when we left. When they first opened I LOOOVEEEED this place, like I talked it up to everyone I knew. It's still a great place to get yakiniku and save a bit (depending on how hungry you are) and I always leave here feeling light, rather than most bbq places where I feel heavy. But now.... I don't think I'll be going as often. They only have sesame dressing now, which is the one they added after their opening. I can't remember what the previous one was, but I much prefer that one over the sesame. Now I don't even touch the salad. :/ At least I still like their kimchi. I'm sitting here writing this out as I wait forever for my food to cook, because our grill plate is lopsided. When we asked an employee why/if they can fix that, they said it was to help the fire breathe. That's great and all but now I'm taking 3x as long to eat. Even my grandma is already finished! Came here to check out the advertised April special. Wow! What a deal! It's located on the corner of Young and Ke'eaumoku in a small strip of businesses where Pizza Hut and a massage place are. We went pretty early around 11:30- so we thought! The dining area was almost full and I saw a friend there already eating and he said he came BEFORE the 11am opening and there were people already waiting. He took the last parking space. This is the only thing about this place. Parking lot is limited. You enter on Young St into the lot. Most likely you'll end up parking on the street. We found spaces on Young near the Dept of Agriculture building. Aside from the parking, it has good food at affordable prices. The April special came with miso soup (really good, not watery or super salty), salad, rice and pieces of pork belly and beef slices. You can't even get a plate lunch for that price. There is a larger set for $15 that has more meat for bigger eaters as well as ala carte options which you can make into a meal for $5 extra. I really liked that you can order the meat without the marinade sauce. There are sauces on the side for you to use. You order,pay and tip on the Toast app QR with your phone so when you're done you just leave. The food came out pretty fast considering the place was hopping. Seating was a long counter separated by hanging plastic dividers which can be removed for larger groups. I saw that there were tables for 4 in the back. I'm thinking it might be hard for very large groups. Bonus- Japanese style, there's a basket near your seat to stash your bag/purse! Okay. This visit was as good as the first visit. Sat me and took my order right away. Miso soup was good. Not watery. As usual.. they took my order and wanted the tip in advance. Told the server about my bad experience from the last two visits and would leave a cash tip when I'm done. He said the. I understand the hype of Yakiniku Like! When I went here to have dinner with my friend we both got one of the monthly specials and it was a good amount of food for the price! The set we ordered came with some sort of thinly sliced beef and chicken, and I liked all the sides- it made the meal more filling. They also bring your order out really fast! The meat was pretty good quality and I appreciated that the portion was just right without having to worry about getting your money's worth like at an AYCE bbq spot. Late lunch with coworkers and this long awaited visit was met with high marks! Had to work an event downtown and were on the hunt for a place that was still open for lunch well past two pm. Spotted this place (which we'd been meaning to visit) and were happy to see they don't close between lunch and dinner! It was well laid out with tables, a small grill to share, and sauce bottles between tables to share (they try to bring you new bottles between guests, as they tend to get sticky between uses). They will take down menu screens between the conjoined aisle if you have a group larger than two. Otherwise, there are four-top (or more) seating areas against the walls, where two guests are on cushioned stools and the other two are seated on the cushioned bench. From the entrance, there are seating areas on the left and right. There was a party on the right side, so I initially rated the noise level as loud. However, on the left where we were seated, even as guests kept on arriving (for even later lunches or early dinners), it was nice and quiet! The initial thrill was the February special, which the gals ordered - ONLY $9.95 for 150 gms kalbi and a free serving of chicken teriyaki; unlimited rice (I never finish mine at other meals, but this time, I ate a tad more than one big bowl!), a well filled miso soup with goodies in it, green salad (with cukes and grape tomatoes, and a choice of yuzu or sesame dressing-we loved the sesame - and later, another guest said the Yuzu was also great on the meat-so we'll ask for that next time!); and a bowl of Kim Chee! The boss ordered the $15.95 special, with 200 gms kalbi and 100 gms chicken teriyaki and the same sides we were offered in the $9.95 set. Each of us ate our entire servings, and shared the boss's "one more free rice bowl", congratulating ourselves on such a great choice to visit, with guarantees that we're coming back for our birthday lunches! (Okay, I did give some of my food to the boss, because I was quite full!) The seasonings/ sauces included a lemon juice, garlic soy, spicy sweet, and salt and pepper. Boss tried them all, my co worker also enjoyed the salt and pepper, and I loved the garlic soy and spicy sweet sauces. And yes, I poured the garlic soy sauce on my rice, and with my meats, resulting in my unusual rice bowl wipeout. They do have beverages and desserts, see the fun menu! Dinner must be awesome-we've seen the line out the door after work! Oh, and they even have a curry sauce add on due $2.50. Service is truly attentive with frequent water refills and check ins, too! Heard the tonkotsu garlic ramen is also good (when we went back to the office to tell others of the great experience, LOL they'd already been there several times)! I found it really interesting that you pay for your food first to order and then they bring it to you. Service was quick, quality of the meats was pretty good, and they have a good array of sauces to choose from on the side. Here's a new place to try! New and different from Gen's and Sikdorak. It's off the corner of Keeamoku and Young Street. You can't miss it. Dining is like what you see in Japan where you sit and you're separated by cut off sections. Can't describe it but it's pretty cool. We were welcomed and serviced by Angelo who was so nice and friendly. The ordering of food is easy... scan q card it's by sets, Ala carte and separates and pay by card. They don't take cash. A friend recommended this great yakiniku place on Keeaumoku close to Beretania. We went there ahead of opening time and there was already a line before 11:00 a.m. That was a sure sign. Parking is limited so try to park around the area or carpool. We ordered the mega special currently on sale. It came with ban chan, excellent quality rice and incredible beef and pork belly cuts. We love this chain in Japan, so when we saw it was in Oahu we had to try it, and it did not disappoint. The food here is all really good. They had some specials this month, so we ordered one of the February specials: a short rib plate (sliced short ribs marinated in their yakiniku sauce) plus a ramen for $15. All the sets come with unlimited rice, salad, and miso soup, which makes it feel like such a good deal. We also ordered the Premium set with kabi (short rib), harami (beef skirt steak), and premium gyutan (beef tongue). That one came with rice, salad, kimchi, and miso soup. Everything totaled around $50 and it was really solid, flame was hot, meats were tender, and the sauces were so good. I also love that you can make your own sauce mix. We just used the white pepper + salt mix with lemon for the meats and it tasted exactly like we remembered from Japan. Space was large and could fit a ton of people, tables have separators so it kind of feels a bit private. Service-wise, you sometimes have to wave someone down, but they're super quick and friendly once they see you. Would definitely come back, we love this place. read more

We were lucky to come in during their "February Specials" because the portion was great size and value! This is one of the newer yakiniku restaurants on Keeaumoku that's located in the old Green Papaya (and iykyk, old Champions). Parking is limited with a very small lot but there is street parking and nearby options if needed. There's no reservation system; you walk in, write your name, party size, and wait. When we arrived, there was no one at the front, no greeting. Eventually, a server came by, checked the list and called our party. Once seated, there was no explanation on how this restaurant operates. No welcome, no "have you dined with us before", nothing. We had to observe the table next to us to figure it out. Everything is done digitally; you scan a QR code, order on your phone, and pay immediately on your phone (note: they don't take cash). The biggest issue was the grill. Ours kept turning off and instead of moving us, staff repeatedly kept coming back just to turn it on. At one point, they gave up and said they'll wait till the food comes to turn it on and the grease from the meat will keep the fire going. As for the food, prices are cheap for yakiniku, and you get what you pay for. I ordered the January special ($9.95). While the photo made it look generous, the portions were small, like 3 pieces of teriyaki chicken and very thin sliced kalbi, small. The meat quality was decent, but the small portions and unreliable grill made the experience unenjoyable. We also found ourselves stressing about making sure the chicken was thoroughly cooked. Service was very minimal and lacked warmth. No real check-ins, no asking if we needed anything, and some staff seemed annoyed when issues came up. The main positive is the ambiance: the restaurant is clean, modern, and visually appealing. This restaurant seemed to be designed for a fast turnover rather than a relaxed sit-down meal. Given this place's busyness, I expect it to be really good. Yakiniku Like has a lively atmosphere, perfect for a Friday evening with friends celebrating the end of the workweek. There was an October special (when I visited in October) which was a genuinely and surprisingly good deal. I however wanted more meat to try so I got a beef lover's set. It is very fun to grill here, and you must grill your own meat, hence yakiniku (焼肉). The grill setup is a bit different from what I am accustomed to with, but still user-friendly and good for cooking your meat. Unless my friends asked me to join them for dinner here, I wouldn't have selected this spot for my normal Yakiniku spot. Nonetheless I think this place is a gem based on the quality of the food and price point. I like the ideas that they have several two-seat tables which is a great setup for a simple date night or buddy dinner spots. It is so convenient that you can order from the app and pay for what you ordered. And then they bring you the food. Even if you Jace a group of people, everyone can order and pay for their own. It makes it easier not having to split checks afterward. In certain hours, they have free unlimited rice refill. Their chili garlic crisps sauce and other sauces are pretty awesome. There are only two things I wish they could be better are parking space which are limited and the bathroom is outside the restaurant that is shared with other tenants. Great cheap yakiniku spot. I came just before 6pm on a weekday and had no wait, but there was a huge line outside when we left. We came after seeing a tiktok about $10 yakiniku and didn't really believe it was actually that cheap, but tried it anyways. The $10 set was only for the special for the month, but to my surprise, it was actually enough food for only $10! You won't leave stuffed to the brim, but we were all comfortably full. It came with about 12 slices of Mitsubishi Top Blade beef, a few pieces of teriyaki chicken, and rice, salad, kimchi, and miso soup. We also tried two kalbi plates, which were good. I wouldn't rave about this place and definitely wouldn't wait in the crazy line that forms, but for cheap yakiniku (and an early dinner) I would absolutely come back. read more

I am a little torn about this place. While they have good deals for yakiniku, it feels quite chaotic in there. First, the parking lot is super tiny but there is street parking on the side streets. Secondly, there are no reservations, so you go in sign your name and wait to be called. I went in one night as a party of 6, signed in at 8:40, waited while there was a line building up. They ended up seating everyone that came before and after us, literally we were the only ones left waiting to be sat and we eventually got seated an hour later around 9:40. When we sat down, they were already doing last call as they close at 10 so as we sat, the server said "don't mean to rush you guys but you should put your orders in now because our kitchen is closing." I'm the type of person who would like to be out of a restaurant by the time they close because I know it must suck to be stuck there waiting for tables to finish so of course, we hurried to order and hurried to eat. If they had told us earlier that we could separate to get seated quicker, or that they wouldn't be able to accommodate us in time, that would've been helpful. The ordering process-- all QR and all CC payments. So you should definitely order everything you want all at once if you want to skip over the 2% kitchen fee and tip multiple times. Food is good. I'm kind of blown away by the value for money at Yakiniku Like. It seems every month they have a new $10 deal, and it comes with a pretty solid amount of food. This month (December 2025) is top blade, chicken teriyaki, rice, soup, and salad, all for $10 - a pretty good deal! It's true that this is not the biggest portion of meat, but it's pretty high quality and tasty with some good sauce combinations on the table. If you find it's not enough food, there's nothing stopping you from ordering a second portion, or adding on some of the other menu items and deals. There's a $2 curry add-on that was surprisingly tasty, and there's a ramen combo available as well that I'll try in the future. You can also get unlimited free rice refills during lunch time. The operation here is built for efficiency. You order your meal using the QR code at the table and pay upfront. Food comes out pretty quickly. The service is friendly but sparse - if you need more water, napkins, etc you'll have to wait to flag someone down. Once you're done eating, just get up and go since you've already paid! By the time we finished dinner, the place was already packed so I recommend coming earlier. This restaurant chain has many locations in Japan and I was sad that I didn't have the chance to go when I was in Tokyo. Located along Keeaumoku Street, parking in front of the restaurant is limited. I would recommend coming early or find street parking. This location does not accept reservations. The waitlist can be long during peak hours but the line goes by pretty quickly. Once seated you can scan the QR code, order and pay for your food right then and there. Besides the initial introduction and serving the food, you don't interact with your server too much which can feel different compared to a normal dine in restaurant. I do recommend trying their monthly specials which are super affordable. The ala carte portion sizes are a little small for the price, but the quality is top tier. Once inside we were nicely greeted and wow .. very nice and clean ..and quite a big area inside. The server explained to us the specials and other options they had to offer . And wow .. found the prices sooo reasonable! And I like the idea of using your cell phone to capture the QR code to get their menu and order your meal. Mainly because if you're with friends.. don't have to tell the server separate checks or sometimes they only allow two separate checks . So this was quite convenient. The special of the month was only $9.99 . It was filling enough for lunch. There was also a bigger portion for $15.99 too which was also a good deal . The meats were very tasty with or without the extra sauce they provided. You could also order add ons to your meal ex: edamame ... zucchini.. sausages or better cuts of meats etc. Another plus was .. the grill was smokeless ... Honestly I was skeptical because I've seen these all over Japan and I'm not sure why but they seemed lower-quality (esp for Japan iykyk). But I was pleasantly surprised when we popped by for dinner on a Saturday and were seated right away! I even snagged the last spot in the parking lot. You scan the QR and order/prepay on your phone. So when you're finished eating, you can just dash. But the food came relatively quick and the October special is a really great deal for $9.95 with Kalbi and chicken, soup, salad, rice and kimchee. It's a lot like another Japanese yakiniku chain, but much cheaper. They must be owned by the same owners are Tsuru Ton Tan, which is not a bad thing in my book! We will be back! read more

After my massage appointments next door, I will ALWAYS patronize this spot as it is the perfect way to end my self-care endeavors! The staff are friendly and the establishment is clean. I appreciate being able to grab a spot quickly as I'm always rolling in solo. The menu is affordable and tasty. If you are looking for AYCE, take your appetite somewhere else, as this spot, to me, hits the spot without me leaving feeling stuffed and blah. The February set is such a great deal! Cheap beer and great quality meat. It's great how it comes in a set (miso, salad, rice, etc). The workers were very kind and chatted with us a bit about what we do on our free time. Also very clean! read more

MLK Monday and we wanted to try something new with the kids. Kbbq is always on the top of our list. As a large family with hangry teens, cranky kids, we were a little leery about trying something "internet famous". To our surprise the wait for a table of 8 was less than 20 minutes! We sat down and was able to immediately order with the QR code. It is a nice system because ordering and paying were done in one swoop. Food came out shortly after. We got a few of their $9.95 specials, and one with additional ramen. $2curry? Yes please! The meat were thin but we found it filling and perfect lunch portions. Been here a couple of times and it's been a good deal when you get their $10 special. Both times we luckily didn't have to wait but by the time we left there was a bunch of people waiting outside. You order from a QR code and pay before they bring you the food. Waiting for the food is what takes kinda long. The food was really good and what even made it better was how reasonably priced it is. The meats are super soft. Service is ok and it can get a little noisy in the space. Will definitely be back again for their special. read more
