Great restaurant for the whole family. Wings are amazing, try the Miller's. Fun entertainment. Waitresses are very personable.

He spent 12 years in the casino Industry, then in 2014, started his first juice bar/acai bowl business Pure Raw Juice while living in Baltimore in 2014. He started two other restaurants in Delaware called Daily Veg before moving back top CNY and starting Whacko Gringo as a take out only restaurant serving out of a trailer. Whacko Gringo serves Mexican fair with a twist and acai bowls, and now has a full storefront which includes outdoor seating. Wife and I had passed by Whacko Gringo several times when they were in the trailer. We had always wanted to try it, the menu looked interesting and tasty, but it just didn't work out for one reason or another. They eventually got their storefront and we decided one day we were going to get out there and try them. We walked in pretty early on a Saturday, no one else in the restaurant. Just a couple small tables inside and a couple outside. I ordered the chimichurri beef tacos with rice and black beans, and my wife ordered a burrito bowl and a side of fresh pico and chips. Food seemed to take a while to be made, but it seemed like there were only 2 employees there. Employees were fine for the most part, but pretty indifferent to us being there. When we did get it, we were definitely disappointed. The meat in my tacos had good flavor, but other than that, everything was extremely bland, and my wife felt the same about hers. The pickled veggies, rice, beans, pico had no flavor, we mostly loaded them with hot sauce for some flavor. No salt on the chips, just a disappointing meal. We had high hopes and planned to go back to try more offerings, but we'd probably skip a return trip now.

We've all eaten our fair share of Baja California tacos, Mexican street food and everything was delicious. The steak in the steak elote tacos were tender, juicy, and the elote was spot on: sweet corn, tajin, cotija cheese, sour cream, mayo). The smoked park carnitas were out of this world. Tender, juicy, and great flavor. The chimichurri beef were my dad's favorite, but my mom and I liked the carnitas best and the steak came a close second. The rice and black beans both sadly lacked flavor, however we'd only ordered one portion and it was ample. The in-house fried tortilla chips were great; their seasoning was tasty (a little more salt would've knocked them out of the park) but they were perfectly crisp and crunchy. The dips were all perfect; the pico and guac were so fresh and delicious and the queso was tasty too. The tacos were all generously stuffed. We actually had far more food than we needed, which is not a criticism; it demonstrates how reasonably priced everything is. The establishment itself is well located and has lots of parking and outside seating. Very cute place, too, with a small inside dining area and bar. Wednesdays are $5 margaritas and tacos for dining in. Fantastic deal. Their smoothie bowls sound delicious as did all their other fare. This will be a new family favorite place to eat. So happy to see such delicious tacos in Oswego.

We ordered the taco platter, which consisted of 8 tacos and 3 sides. The tacos they have are chicken, beef, pulled pork, jack fruit, shrimp, and cod. It's worth noting that you're not allowed to order just one kind of taco for this platter, you need to order in two's (a small inconvenience). The sides we chose were chips & salsa, rice, and the lime salt papa fritas (fries). The meal was pretty good! Each taco has it's own unique ingredients and flavours going on, so it was fun trying all the different kinds. My favourite was the cod, as I thought the pineapple and salsa verde were a nice touch. I also liked the chicken taco, but it was too spicy in my opinion. It's nice to have your tacos made with flavour, but not too much "heat". They actually have an entire shelf of hot sauces on the far wall of the restaurant so that you can go grab a sauce to use if you want your taco to be spicy. Of course I understand that Mexican cuisine has more "bite" to it, but again, in my opinion it was just a bit too spicy to enjoy. I'll also say that the food did not come out warm...perhaps it wasn't supposed to...not sure. The fries were amazing, but the rice was cold and lacking flavour. Chips were fine, but they could certainly be more generous on the salsa. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner, and we would certainly return.

Who knew they would leave the doors to the outside open and let all flying bugs in. They were annoying to swat away from the food every few seconds. Food was tasty in the end. But: The house corn chips and "dip" - dip is too small to share with 3 people. The Poblano Rajas barely had poblano peppers. The Quesadilla Stack has way too much lime crema. Perhaps a little squeeze??? Not covered entirely with crema. Every dish is gussied up. There should be something a little more "plain". Not every dish needs to be overloaded. We tried to order the Chicken Taquitos and remove an item but were told they're pre-made and can't be customized. Their favourite spice is cumin. Way too much in every dish. It's the only flavour in the red rice. What State in Mexico are they trying to represent as I e eaten at Mexican restaurants and never had so much cumin. Finally, the number of messages and text messages to "remind me" of my reservation was simply annoying. 2 messages at a time! And then, I got a call at 5:45 pm (for my 6pm reservation) asking where I am as I am late for my 5:30pm reservation??? All the reminders said 6 and 6 was my selected time. How did they get it wrong?
