Fast casual restaurant serving delicious customizable bowls in a bright little spot with a few tables to eat in! Been eyeing this place for a month or so and finally stopped in today to satisfy an everything-good-and-crunchy-in-a-bowl craving. So glad we did! Great selection of ingredients, all very fresh. We both got falafel as our protein and they were excellent and freshly prepared. Will definitely be trying a falafel wrap next time as well. I will definitely make a point to visit again soon. Hope they do well, they are a great addition to Middletown!

I work nearby and stumbled upon this hidden gem during my lunch break -- and wow, am I glad I did! This Mediterranean spot in Middletown is an absolute must-try. The beef kebab wrap is hands-down one of the best lunches I've ever had. The beef was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, wrapped up with fresh veggies and a sauce that ties it all together in the most satisfying way. You can tell everything is made in-house -- from the bread to the spreads -- and it makes all the difference in flavor. And don't even get me started on the desserts. I tried the baklava and a pistachio pastry, and both were out of this world -- flaky, rich, and clearly made with care. The staff is warm, the portions are generous, and the prices are more than fair for the quality you're getting. I'll definitely be back (probably more times than I should admit) -- this is officially my new go-to spot during the workweek.

Go here and thank me later. The food was fresh and seasoned beautifully. We both got the mixed grill which came with delicious lamb, chicken, and kofta. The rice was fabulous and not just an afterthought like you get at most restaurants. The rice was moist and richly flavored and served as a great accompaniment to the meat. Fresh pita, garlic and spicy hummus, a lovely fresh salad with mint and herbs. The meal was excellent. We grabbed some pastries to go including the mamoun, birds nests, and baklava. Great service, even better food. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend it!

We really enjoyed it. Food was very fresh the owners son was super friendly and helpful. And very proud of his mom's recipes. It's Mediterranean with (as he said) a Syrian bias. Some of the crispiest, tastiest falafel I've had. There's some many excellent eateries on Main Street, make sure you add Parsley.

I've been meaning to stop here since they opened and tonight I finally had the chance. I'm so glad I stopped in because everything I got is absolutely delicious. Staff were so helpful in making selections as it was my first time here and the recommendations that were made were fantastic. The portions are huge so I will get at least two meals out of the bowl that I got. I didn't eat in but loved the decor and color scheme. It was very welcoming and I cannot wait to go back! Finally a place in Middletown that isn't an Italian or Mexican restaurant!

There would be plenty of gluten free options. They have hummus, rice, tons of greens and veggies, meats. So many good options!

Hello, I attended a…read morebaby shower at Tates in Middletown this past Sunday and wanted to share what an incredible job Kaylee did throughout the event. She was attentive from start to finish, consistently checking in around the room to make sure everything was taken care of and that guests had what they needed. One thing that especially stood out was her ability to read the room. When the mom-to-be began thanking guests, Kaylee thoughtfully lowered the music volume without being asked, allowing everyone to hear and enjoy the moment. She was professional, kind, and clearly took pride in providing excellent service. Her attention to detail helped make the event run smoothly and created a wonderful experience for everyone attending. I would absolutely return for future events and wanted to make sure her outstanding service was recognized.

We were promptly seated by a very nice hostess who just finished at Ohio state and had a nice way about her. Our server was Ashley and I have to say she was great. The kind of server who takes great care of you and anticipates your needs and delivers what you want before you have to ask. So the food... I have never gotten in a fight over an appetizer but I came close that day. My wife and I fought for the last of the amazing bite of the ahi Tuna nachos... I mean really wow. The Calamari app was the best we have ever had... Finally, the Cob was dressed perfectly. All in all just a great experience! I say again, don't wait and enjoy!

Great for the warmer months when joined by a couple of friends. I am giving this a 3 stars because the last time me & my partner visited we did not get the same welcoming attitudes which we experienced in our previous visits. Another weird vibe I got was when I was ordering another round of beers for both my boyfriend and I -- my order was taken last despite standing/waiting at the bar before other patron's. I was the only woman standing there so I am not sure if this had something to do with it.... Definitely a college bar-type atmosphere. I will say the crispy brussels & spinach and artichoke dip were tasty and cooked very well.

The atmosphere is straight up bar but we still felt comfortable with our teens with us. It would have been fine with smaller children too as the restaurant seating is away from the bar area. The beer menu was fairly comprehensive. They have their own brews and have many local CT craft brews on draft. They also have some cans and bottles if that's your thing. I didn't notice any crazy rare lambics but that's not what we were looking for. We had a few hazies and few stouts and everything was delightful. Our server Anna was a seasoned pro. She knew the menu and exactly when to come by our table to check in. We had some pulled pork nachos and there was plenty to go around. The dry rub on the wings was delicious and the wings themselves were cooked right. Overall, if you find yourself in Middletown looking for a nice beer and some decent food, this is a great choice!

Over the past 2 years the service & food quality has been in steady decline. My most recent visit was inexcusable and I won't return. We decided to visit for "reverse happy hour" as an alternative from our usual thirsday night visit to Esca. We had Michael for our server and sat upstairs in the lounge. We were brought menus as we were sat and we ordered drinks to start, but weren't sure on food yet. Our server then proceeded to visit our table 4 times over the next 15 minutes to ask if we wanted to place a food order. It felt rushed. The vibe : awkward. The music was so loud I couldn't hear my server, my date or anything else besides the droning voice of Amy Grey. She had no spacial awareness and didn't know when to shut up. Incessantly talking over every song and not realizing that a bar gig is inherently different from the radio. The food : mediocre. We ordered steak frites from the happy hour menu which noted that the steak was "marinated". The 4 piece of tepid steak that came to our table were covered in this cloyingly sweet sauce that tainted the entire dish. Since the steak was served atop the fries, this sauce caused the fries (straight from the Sysco box) to become soggy and absorb the sauce which made the fries not so appetizing. We followed that up with a Cheese Pizza which was pretty good. The pizza here is their saving grace, and this place would do much better as just a slice shop. The drinks : abysmal. I started with a Skittles fruited sour from Transcend Brewery that Sicily had on tap. I was excited because it's rare to find their beer on tap outside of the brewery. It was served in the wrong glass. The F&B manager at Sicily needs to do a better job at making sure the bar is properly serving drinks. Teku glasses are essential for fruited sours. It didn't taste the same as it did in the brewery, however, for $6 I decided to just chalk it up to inexperience. I followed the beer with a Paloma, which was advertised as $5 for happy hour. When I ordered from my server I pointed at the menu showing the tequila listed for $5. As soon as I tasted the drink that was brought to me, i knew it was way off. I asked my server to ask the bartender what was in the drink because it didn't taste right. He told me that the bartender said "grapefruit juice", which is not the proper mixer for a Paloma. A Paloma only has 3 ingredients - Grapefruit Soda (Squirt or Jarritos are acceptable), Tequila & Lime Juice - it's a very simple cocktail. If you didn't have grapefruit soda, which is the main ingredient in the drink, just tell me that... I would have picked something else. The service : Impersonal & rushed. When i sent back the drink, the affect of our server visibly changed, almost as if he was angry or insulted that I would send back a drink that wasn't made properly. He asked if I would like something else, but my confidence in the bartender to make a proper drink had waned and I stuck with water for the rest of the night. My date continued with a 3rd glass of wine. About 10 minutes after this, my date got up to use the restroom, and our server came over and handed me a box for the remaining pizza, without asking if we would like anything else or if my date was done with her wine. He whisked away the half full glass and dropped our check effectively ending our visit. We weren't ready to leave. My date came back to the table and asked where the rest of her drink was and I explained the our server cleared the table and dropped the check. She said "I guess it's time to go". The nail in the coffin was when I picked up the check to see that I was charged for a $16 "Casamigos" cocktail. So i suppose if i had continued to drink the Paloma he would have been happy to charge me $16 for a $5 happy hour drink. The whole experience was off-putting and we didn't feel welcome. It felt as if our server was just trying to turn tables as fast as possible. I won't be returning and recommend others to stay far away.

Atmosphere/Appearance: Lots of people are afraid of dive bars for some reason. I don't know if it's because of the stuff they see in movies or what, but they're some of the best places to come! Everyone is friendly, no one is judgmental, folks just kinda mesh together! There is a private parking lot out front as this place is literally located next to Jerry's Pizza. I'm assuming they're owned by the same folks. Once inside you'll see the bar to the right, dining to the left then the pool tables and bathrooms all the way in the back. There's a TouchTunes digital jukebox here so you can play whatever kind of music you want loudly throughout the restaurant. Lol. Service: It seemed as if 1 to 2 lovely ladies were running the bar and the whole restaurant by themselves. They were doing an excellent job making sure we were all taken care of and I was quite impressed. Food: I came for the WWWIIINNNGGGSSS. We tried the Mango Habanero, Sweet Thai Chili and Thai Peanut Butter & Jelly. They were all just okay. I don't like breading on my wings. It just adds carbs and makes the wings "look" bigger. Sorry. :-/ Value: I can't recall how much wings were, but they weren't expensive at all. You won't break the bank eating here, no matter what you get. In conclusion... this place is cool.
