Over the past 10 years or so, I have had Shake Shack in Chicago, London, Kirkland, and now in Bellevue. The food is pretty consistent. Service is good and the venues are always clean and well kept. One of the biggest issues for me is that their prices keep going up while the portions are getting visibly smaller. I feel that at this price point, they are not really offering "quality" fast food, but rather competing directly with restaurants like Red Robin and Johnny Rocket. If the prices made more sense, this could have been a 4 or 5 star restaurant. Currently as is, it's more like a 2.5 star (4 star for taste and 1 star for value) venue. Then they were out of ranch when I ordered a side of onions rings, they didn't say they were out just sub it with another sauce. I've been to the Shake Shack in Bellevue square a few times and it never disappoints. It does get busy, so there's usually a 15-20 minute wait, but the service is still well organized and worth it. You can order ahead or use the kiosks, which makes things easier. The quality has been consistent every time. Ah yes, the overpriced fast food joint. The burgers here ARE delicious! They're just small and not worth it really. I only come when I find a deal, so not very often. They released their new burger, The Big Shack! I got a deal for it so went in to try it out! It was good! Did I pay full price? Nope! I always like their fries. They're crinkle cut and crispy. Their beer is light and good as well. Overall, its a good burger, but unless you spend over $20, you'll leave hungry. Ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and the bun was completely soggy. I asked if that was normal and the guy said ya. It's from the sauce on the burger. (Spoiler. There was NO sauce on the burger) My daughter was like well gross but I'm hungry. She took a bite and it was red and raw in the middle. I again said is this normal. And they shrugged their shoulders like well sure. I said it's not. I didn't ask for it to be mooing. And your website says cooked. This is not that. He asked if I'd like another one. I said well I'm not eating this and for $13 for one burger I'd like to be able to eat it. Guess what. The second one was the same thing. We left two raw uneaten burgers on the table and left. I enjoy Shake Shack every now and again and found myself here a couple times recently following one of my work site visits. I also had a little cash back offer for coming so I figured why not. This Shake Shack is like most of the others I've visited, a fair amount of seating but being this one is right in the heart of downtown Bellevue and steps from Bellevue Square mall, it's quite busy so be prepared to consider taking your food to go if there aren't any seats. This Shake Shack in particular has very friendly staff, in both of my visits the food runners were very nice and in my most recent visit the order kiosk was glitching a bit, so the young man went to the kitchen to make sure the order went through. He returned letting me know it had. The food is good as expected - my cheeseburger, fries and Oreo shake were all as expected. So, if you're a Shake Shack fan, you'll likely enjoy the Bellevue Square location. read more

This location is spacious and brightly lit, with lots of seating options. You order by kiosk, grab a number for your order, and seat yourself. I got the avocado bacon burger which was great but definitely on the smaller side as Shake Shack goes. I also shared the fries with truffle sauce which was delicious. Really looking forward to my first Shake Shack experience!... and was sorely disappointed. The kiosk wouldn't take my order accurately, so I found a helpful cashier. The $12.59 "Shroom burger" was less than crisp, meager tomato slices and lettuce (not at ALL like the photo), with gooey cheese oozing out of the bun. Worse, the taste was more BORING than I could have imagined! For a mere $1.99, I could have improved it with $.50 worth of onions. I'm sorry -- you DON'T have my vote!! I've been to the Bellevue Shake Shack a few times and mostly ordered pickup. Unfortunately, my experience with the pickup service never improves. I place my order on the app and receive a message after paying that I'll get a text notifying me when my order is ready to be picked up. Each time, I never receive that text. Even when I go during the time window for picking up my food, it is never ready within that timeframe. Today, I waited at least 20 minutes before going to pick up my order. Luckily, it was there, but I still did not receive the text notifying me when it was ready." Once I received my order, I could tell the food was sitting around for a while. When I got back to my office, I was shocked to see how the cheese fries were placed in an open faced fries tray and not an enclosed box. The napkin was placed on top of the cheese fries tray and to my surprise as I was about to put the ketchup on the fries, I saw a short strand of a lash or something. The strand was 2cm long or so. Not only was there a strand, but there was also some sort of lint on the hardened cheese. I was so excited for Shake Shack to be in Bellevue, but their pickup service is making it hard to like coming to this location. The dine in service is a bit better since the employees bring out the order to you where you're sitting. Let's hope the pickup service gets better in the near future. read more

I will give this location the benefit of the doubt and rate it 3 stars due to the extra crowds of the holiday week (Wednesday before Thanksgiving). Food: High quality ingredients and all food and drinks were made to order. Their menu is a little limited but did have a few kid friendly items. I think their Black Truffle Burger was delicious and a highlight on the menu. The chicken bites were tasty, but a little too salty and tad dry since it used breast meat. The vanilla milkshake was smooth and refreshing, as was the sunset lemonade. Service: For a busy night, the crew did their best to keep up with orders. Our food was promised to be completed in a certain time window and we were supposed to be notified via text message when it was ready. I never received a text message and our meal came out close to 20 minutes after the delivery window. Others in my party also experienced long waits for their orders, so it must be because of the high crowds. Ambiance: The location is very centrally located in Bellevue Square and parking is free in the garage attached to the restaurant. The restaurant could not keep up with the high crowds because the cleanliness took a back seat during the dinner rush (ex. empty napkin dispensers, overfilled trash bins, messy ketchup bar, wet floor from the overfilled trash bins, random fries in the ketchup basket next to the food pick up area). Again, it's probably not like this all of the time, but a little unappetizing. We will give this location another try next time we are in the area. Shake Shacks are typically great burger joints, but tonight's experience was an outlier with average rating. read more

One busy Shake Shack location. Convenient if you are shopping in Bellevue Square Mall. Took a while to find a table to sit down. Ordering kiosks are a bliss. We can take our own time to order, especially with kids taking time to finalize their choices. Wait time was around 10 mins with a lot of people walking in. Loved the French Onion 'Shroom Burger and the Veggie Shack. Tried their cheese fries and frozen custards for the first time. Loved it! Experience was great. Service was good too. I'm a Shake Shack fan, so was happy to learn that Shake Shack has made a home in Bellevue. This doesn't help my waist line by any means, but Shake Shack always comes in hot with that smashed burger and melted cheese, and this location is no different. Shake Shack in Bellevue took over the corner spot where Boom Noodle used to be, right next to Castilla and near Cheesecake Factory. There's a small outdoor seating area, which is nice for the dogs and inside, there's enough seating for patrons dining in. You can order and pay on the touchscreen, grab a number and an employee finds your table to deliver your food. In my most recent visit, I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake and had no regrets until I had to waddle back home. The burger was delicious, as it was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor and that melted American cheese between the two patties. I always add pickles at no cost, and the pickles were crunchy and thick, adding a nice bite and texture. Fries were crispy, hot and salty AKA good. And the chocolate shake was thick, creamy and sinfully good. You can't go wrong with Shake Shack. read more

My family was so excited about a Shake Shack opening in Bellevue so that we don't have to go to Seattle for it. We were unfortunately disappointed with our experience with this Shake Shack. We're used to Shake Shack being a dirty restaurant but this one was disgusting. Half the restaurant was empty yet every single free table was dirty and not just a few crumbs dirty, like water everywhere, food spilled on the floor, smeared condiments on the table dirty. We had to get a sanitising wipe and wipe down our table. There were dirty tissues everywhere, chunks of food on the floor, and even ketchup dried on the wall. I was excited to order a Chicken Shack for the first time and customised it to add cheese and take out the pickles. I was sad that they forgot my cheese and when I asked for it, they handed me a slice of cheese in a bag. The best part of cheese on a burger is how it gets all nice and melty and this was just cold cheese in a bag, super disappointed. I loved the fries and the rest of my family enjoyed our food once we got past how gross the restaurant was. That is until small flies started attacking us halfway through our meal. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend this Shake Shack during their soft opening on Monday, June 17. When stores have a soft opening, there are lots of kinks and issues and you generally have to wait a long time. That was not the case with this place at all. I've been to Shake Shack before so I know how their ordering system works. I was greeted by a member of the management staff when I came in and was told to utilize the kiosk and iPad to place my order. The staff are close by and can also help you order if needed. The store itself is cool. They have tables that were sustainably sourced with local wood which I thought was a cool touch! I selected a few different items then ordered. I received a text stating that the team and received my order. As I said - being a soft opening I figured it would be awhile but my order came out in just 12 minutes! Great work by the staff. First off service was great. The people here are amazing. The food was really good, but I honestly still prefer in and out. For as expensive as they are you get small portions and the wait time for food is long. This is a busy location too, so finding a seat is hard sometimes. I also did not like their shake sauce which just tasted like mayo with a little ketchup. It does have a nice modern vibe tho. I was still hungry when I left cause the burgers were so small. We had an accident and spilled milk. I went to the counter and had to wave to them for help. Another one was with a customer but had to step in. Anyway, they told someone to help us. It took her 10 minutes yo go and grab something to clean. I wanted yo do it myself, but they told me it was going to be quick. It took around 15. We stood up in the middle of the hallway. Food was cold. And the worst: no one asks you if your drink is with or without bobba. It's only been about a month since my first review, but I've dropped by Shake Shack multiple times since then, and the issue remains the same no matter the time of day. The service is painfully slow. The servers move with no passion and I just don't understand how the cooks are always so busy but nothing comes out in any sort of timely manner. One note to reviewers - people seem to either not know or forget, but you can order at the front! Just the other day, there was a long line at the kiosk so I walked up to the front and ordered with a worker. We left Earl's to grab Shake Shack instead because we were craving burgers, fries, and nuggets--only to have the entire experience ruined by a series of disappointments. First, they were out of ketchup. Let me say this: ketchup is essential when you're serving burgers and fries. How does a burger joint run out of ketchup and think that's acceptable? Even worse, there were six employees standing behind the counter, and not one of them thought to take five minutes to run to QFC (which is just a couple of minutes away) to grab ketchup. It's embarrassing and shows a complete lack of care for the customer experience. On top of that, there was no water available. We had to ask multiple times just to get water for our group, which shouldn't even be an issue. These kinds of basic service failures make it clear that management isn't on top of things. We left Earl's for what we thought would be a better experience, but instead, it was an embarrassing disaster. Shake Shack, you've got to do better. read more

Was excited to have a Shake Shack near the office. Always a fan of the place. However, maybe it is still growing pains, but the turnaround at this place is much slower than I had hoped it would be, to the point where it is not a viable option for a quick lunch. We are talking 30-40 minutes wait after you order for your food. Tried it three times just because I thought the first time was a fluke. Second and third times were just as long of a wait, whether I ordered at the kiosk or in person. I expected it to be popular, but each time I went, it wasn't fully loaded by any means. So, I am just baffled by how long it took. Even when ordering from the app, ordered 30 minutes in advance of when I arrived. I still had to wait over a half hour for a simple burger and fries. Hopefully this course gets corrected. It is clean, the staff is friendly, and the shake shack burgers are of course good.
