Shake Shack burgers are excellente though a bit overpriced and comes in small portion. An order of the Smoke Shack and Bacon & Cheese Fries will bring you to a whopping $12 range. The two times I've already gone I felt lucky to find a seat because it always seems to be a full house! Typically not a huge fan of shake shacks overall. All my visits have emptied my wallet for over-salted burgers. However, this shake shack is the best I've had. Both in food quality and service. Food was perfectly cooked. Entire family enjoyed. Service was superior. In fact it felt a bit over staffed. Sometimes this is not a good thing but we had two employees come by to help clear our table and bring us refills. This never happened at any other Shake Shack. Believe they are not all built the same. Tyson's and Pentagon locations are not like this. Marylanders, consider yourselves lucky to have this well-managed one in Columbia. read more

If you are on a budget and want a good burger at a cheaper price, may I suggest go to your local super market and buy a good pack of ground beef, hamburger buns and your favorite toppings. I've been to Shake Shack so many times I've lost count. It's just so good. I would say it's the equivalent of In-N-Out of the west coast and some might even say it's better. Every time someone asks me what my favorite burger place is, I, without a doubt, think about Shake Shack. Set in a 3/4 opened bun, the burger looks like an opened oyster presenting its stunning pearl. Their burgers are slightly small for the price, but worth it as it comes with a secret shack sauce that seems similar to the one on Big Macs. If you get their fries and make a meal out of it, though, it becomes the right amount of food. This time around my sister got the Hot Chick'n and I got the 'Shroom Burger with a Cookies 'N Cream Milkshake. We both also got fries. Shake Shack has one of the best fries too, their crinkle cut fries are crunchy and beautiful in both shape and taste. My sister said the Hot Chick'n wasn't that spicy, but I took a bite and it was pretty spicy. It wasn't bad, but I'm not sure if I'd voluntarily order it. The 'Shroom Burger, on the other hand, was amazing! Definitely an order to repeat. In every bite, you hear the crisp of the fried mushrooms. Instead of it being a beef patty, they substitute it with two portobello mushroom caps stuffed with cheese which then gets fried to absolute perfection. So if you're a vegetarian, I would 100% recommend trying this. When I finished all my food, I moved on to my milkshake. At first, I thought it was tasty, but the more I worked my way towards the bottom of the cup, the more I felt I was going to drown in its sweetness. For those of you who don't have too much of a sweet tooth like me, I would suggest staying away from their milkshakes, because I've noticed they're all equally super sweet. Don't go here. Horrible experience. Ordering was a painful ordeal when the girl taking the order couldn't understand a plainly asked question of the difference between two burgers offered. Finally got my order several minutes after the rest in my group. The burger was not what I ordered. When I pointed it out, they took my whole tray from me, including my shake and fries. I waited another 15 minutes before my food was done. I pointed out the issue to the manager on duty and he proceeded to tell me that there is a difference between what I ordered and what I got in a tone that made it sound like what I got was my fault even though my receipt was correct. When I finally got my food, the rest of my group was finished and wanted to leave. read more

Delicious burgers and great ingredients. I normally don't get a cheeseburger because of the cheap American cheese that gets slapped on the burger. But this burger had muenster cheese and it oozed out of the burger as I took each bite. The shake shack special sauce is amazing. Crinkle cut fries made me feel like a kid again. Also, their custard creations are to die for. I got the cookie butter one with vanilla custard, cookie pieces and chocolate sprinkles. So creamy and decadent. I am a vegetarian so maybe not the core audience for this place but I was excited they had a vegetarian option. But it not very good. It's like a very thin small portabello mushroom that is breaded and deep fried, with some sort of cheese (or cheez sauce ?) that is also cooked inside of the breading (so I don't think you can order it without the cheese). I mean kudos for offering a veg option but this would be a lot better if there was more mushroom and less bread and you could order it without that flavorless cheese goo. Shake Shack is probably one of my favorite places, period. It is the subject on numerous conversations, social media posts, and reviews around the country on Yelp that I have written. All for those amazing burgers and fries. Anyone that's given less than 5 stars to Shake Shack either a) doesn't appreciate the wait (no one likes waiting but if the food is good so what?) or b) thinks the burgers are overpriced because of size (...but it's still a good burger and not really that overpriced compared to other burger spots in the area). Anyway, when this place opened in Columbia, I was ecstatic. I was just far enough from Baltimore to not want to make the trek for Shake Shack and the locations south were too far away. The lines are to be expected. I did go on a Friday in January and the wait was not longer than 10 minutes, great by SS standards. I usually don't wait in line and order on the SS app, but the line was short enough to stand in this time. It took about 15 minutes to get our food, and we were lucky to find seating. The seating is relatively limited here- probably enough to seat 50ish people? But you usually have smaller groups taking up the booths which makes it look like it can seat maybe 20. The food, as always, was delicious. I recently started getting lettuce wrap burgers and have yet to be disappointed. The patty was perfectly cooked, and the lettuce wrap didn't fall apart as you eat it. Definitely going to be back here to eat more on cheat day! read more

I already really like Shake Shack, but have only been to the Inner Harbor location until last night. I know this location opened recently. The line space is unfortunately very small. There is a lot of seating, and it feels a little more open compared to the Inner Harbor location. There's a good bit of outdoor seating as well.
