Came here for the first time on an early Saturday evening because I did an online order for the first time through the app and got 20% off. I normally only go to the old Orchard location despite the high food tax. Surprisingly came here on an early Saturday evening, and it was almost empty. Food was definitely ready and waiting for pick up on time. Food again high-quality consistency however it was definitely a bit room temperature if not already cold because the cheese for the cheese fries was already hardening. I definitely could've gotten there a few more minutes early however probably just need to either order live or type it out better. The location of this is great because they have a parking lot as well as a drive-through. So parking was not a challenge. Staff here was really nice as well. They even have cornhole outside. I would definitely come back again because the place was clean. It was open less crowded and I happen to get a discount. read more

Meh. We were curious. The shakes were really good. The burger was overly salted. The fries were good and crispy. We left full. The dining area is clean. But...this experience cost two people seventy dollars. We entered our own order on a kiosk and our food was brought to our table but we still had to get our own condiments and napkins from a counter. So no, we won't be back. For that kind of money I want more of a dining experience. The food wasn't any better than a basic restaurant or roadside stand. We stopped in to this location off Deerfield Road. There is a generous lot and it was fairly empty when we arrived before noon. This is an immaculate location, order at the kiosks and they will bring your food and drinks to your table. I ordered the Black Truffle burger. The truffle aroma was immediately discernible when they brought a tray to the table. The patty was thin and nicely crisp and browned at the edges but it was dry. There were French fried onions (French's?), black truffle sauce and Gruyère cheese. They had me at truffle. The cheese, truffle sauce and burger tasted good, but overall it was dry and could have used more sauce, or a slice of tomato. There are also black truffle fries but that would have been overkill. Black truffle items are not supposed to arrive until October 15 (it's the 13th), but maybe I will try it one more time. This location is amazing clean, a little sterile since your human interaction is limited to your food delivery. This is a brand new and mighty fine Shake Shack. We were actually invited by e-mail to be at their soft opening on Thursday April 24 (with their official grand opening on Friday April 25), but a power outage cancelled that event. It was a special event with a 50% discount and an opportunity for invitees to donate goods to the local needy. To their credit, they were quick to notify folks immediately via email so that any unnecessary trips could be avoided. Anyway, the offer was extended to April 30, and we made it in here on the last day of the promotion. They have the usual tasty goods, and the operation was nice and seemless. It's not a particularly large Shake Shack (like Vernon Hill's size as opposed to the larger Schaumburg or Skokie Old Orchard locations), but the space is airy and cozy. They have 4 ordering pads for the customers and also an attendant (a friendly and helpful gal named Jaylu? for our visit) at the main order counter to take your order. We ordered our usual two ShackBurgers and a fries to eat in as well as two shakes to go which they nicely made upon meal completion. The fries were a little overcooked but not a biggie. Shake shack has always been a bit of a miss for me because their shakes are not as good at other spots. They tend to be very liquidy. This one is a new location that opened recently near us so we went and gave it a second chance. The burgers are decent 7/10 I would say and fries are 8/10 for being able to have a nice crisp. Would've love to be able to refill my own soda though! The service was good. It was very crowded and the space is not really enough for those who want to dine in. It was a bit disorganized trying to get orders in with both kiosks and employees. It was hard for them to find us which resulted in employees yelling out names. read more

New location in Deerfield. Inside there is decent amount of seating along with a small patio area with 4-5 tables. They just opened last week and so there was a few kinks to work out understandable as we went at dinner time around 5:45pm during the week. Ordered the smokeshack, fries, cookies and cream as well as vanilla shake. The burgers are of smaller portions but the quality and flavor are quite good. They use a potato bun which is quite soft and fluffy with a slight sweetness to it. The sauce had a nice tang to it and the cherry peppers added a hint of heat which was nice. The cheese was a great texture of being melted which many times burgers don't have. The meat itself was very flavorful and was not greasy at all. Overall it was a great burger though on the smaller size. Crinkle cut fries were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were well salted without being overall salted. The milkshakes had a great consistency where the ice cream was thick but it had some melted edges which you could still drink it thru a straw. The vanilla could use a stronger vanilla flavor but the cookies and cream had good amount of cookies blended into it for that Oreo flavor. read more

I am surprised to see Shake Shack with a 3.1 star average. I stopped by today and had a positive experience. I had never been to a Shake Shack before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I found the restaurant to be clean and modern with meals ordered at a kiosk. The food was good and it was brought to my table quickly, and there was plenty of seating. Outside, the restaurant had plenty of parking and also had some outside seating. My only real complaint is that I thought it was pretty expensive. I had an avocado bacon burger ($10.29), cheese fries ($5.49), and a strawberry shake ($6.29). To me, $22 (excluding tax and tip) for my meal seemed a bit expensive. I am kind of surprised that each item has to be purchased a la carte and you don't get any sort of discount for buying a "combo meal" when you bundle multiple items together. read more

I've had some challenges with placing orders at this location (though I'm not sure if it's universal). I came on one of their sandwich deal days (get a burger free with $10+ purchase), meaning to pay with a gift card. However, I found out after a lot of back and forth with staff that you can't use gift cards at the order kiosks, so you had to order with someone at the register. However, when we used the register, the staff were not able to enter in any sandwich deal promo codes. They then referred me to ordering online, but that had repetitive errors whenever trying to enter the gift cards, and when the order finally went through, the staff at the restaurant did not see the order on their end, but the gift card value had been charged. It took about 30 minutes to sort this out with them, and by then the rest of my friends had long finished their meal. The staff were apologetic, which I appreciated, but it did discourage me from purchasing gift cards from them in the future given how complicated it became. Food-wise, the burgers are tasty, though it's a bit pricey for the portion size you get. The fries are nice and crispy and salted just right. The cookies & cream milkshake is where it's at, so would recommend that. Overall, tough experience for what should have been a pretty quick meal. read more

What a disaster...wanted to have a good experience here, but the staff is incompetent. I ordered my food through the kiosk, took a number and sat at the table. I waited as people who arrived after me received their food, I waited 30 minutes precisely and then walked up to the counter to question where my order was, the staff looked clueless said my name and order was never placed. I had to pull up my credit card transactions to show them proof of payment ..It then took them 10 more minutes to find my order, was told my order was given to someone else... took another 15 minutes for them to remake my order!!!!! My friends and I stopped at Shake Shack during a road trip, eager to try it for the first time after hearing great things. Unfortunately, we were incredibly disappointed. The prices were high, which is somewhat expected near Chicago, but the food quality was lacking. I ordered a plain grilled cheese and received what resembled a pancake with two slices of barely melted cheese. This, along with a small order of fries ($6) and a shake ($8), cost me nearly $20. I ordered at the kiosk and seated myself at one of the few clean tables. When my food was delivered, the server was visibly upset and practically slammed the tray down. Despite this, a minimum tip of 10% was suggested. Before leaving, we used the restroom and found two employees smoking pot, quite openly, and without washing their hands. I routinely receive a text saying my food is done and then have to wait another 5-10 minutes for them to bring me the food. Tonight I went up to the counter after 4 minutes of waiting for them to bring out my take out order and then I waited another 4-5 minutes at the counter. This was at 8:30pm and there was only one table if customers there snd no one I. The drive thru during my entire wait. There seems to be no management and no training. The person handing me the food always looks like he is doing me a favor, never smiles, or says thanks. This "attitude" of the servers has consistently been that they "just don't care" on all 3 of my other visits as well. This should be an easy fix - find someone to manage this location. read more

Sounding miserable/frustrated she finally finished and was a complete turn-off. We pulled up and got our order which was missing a shake. We were asked to pull into a waiting space and five minutes later our $6 soft-serve shake came out. No great shakes at all. We ordered veggie burgers which had a nice flavor & texture, like a burger with nice toppings and a soft bun. The sandwich was so small I knew we'd have to make something else back home. Michael's Hot Dogs in HP has a real veggie burger so we'll likely never darken SS drive-through again. We try to eat as healthily as possible and this was basically to say hello & support a nascent business in the area. AVOID THIS PLACE! Wife and I went to it for the first (and last) time. I was going to give it a 2 out of 5 because the burger was acceptable...not good, just acceptable. It was over cooked till it was burned black around the edges. Still the rest of the burger was OK. However, our single burgers were pricey at $10.29 and $8.99 each when, in reality, Culver's, Wendy's, Steak 'n Shake and even McDonalds provide better tasting burgers at as much as half the price as Shake Shack. Next, my wife had a chocolate shake. (I had a glass of water.) It came in what would be called a medium size cup at most places yet it cost $6.29. The cashier asked if she wanted whipped cream so she said sure. Turns out that whipped cream is a $.49 extra but we did not find this out till we looked at the bill later. Wife said it tasted OK but no better than McDonalds soft serve milk shake. So, in total, the bill was $28.41 for two single burgers and a shake! WAY MORE EXPENSIVE than expected or what we have paid at a Culver's, Wendy's, etc. But that is not all! When I got home, I looked at the receipt and realized I had also been charged $3.91 for a tip!! No idea where that came from. I called the manager and left a message but, as expected, never heard from them. Bottom line: This is a money-grubbing operation that nickel and dimes you for lower quality food. It sneaks in tips on its bills and fails to respond to customer comments. What a complete waste of money and time. We waited until October to try this new burger place in Deerfield and I guess we should have waited longer because this place is a joke! $34 dollars for 2 single burgers, truffle fried and cheese fries. To go! It's 60 degrees out people, you could have at least provided a bag that keeps the food warm! Oh and please note if you order a bacon cheeseburger it comes without bacon. And the avocado bacon burger comes without the bacon or the avocado! The cheese fries also come without cheese the bun is non existant. We ordered online and had to enter our order 4 times it deleted it the 1st 3 times because you need to set up the account prior to ordering and then when you try and enter a card it deletes your order if you don't save your card. We went back to get the food we ordered and thought we'll it will be good bit no wrong again. Staff is typical Deerfield people who have not been trained and are short staffed. Save your time and money. Better warm burgers at any other place in town for a lot less! Deer franks, McDonald's, even the burgers at the Jewel are kept warm! Amazing service! The Ambiance of the restaurant was amazing. Staff were extremely friendly like wishing me a good night and welcoming me in. I wasn't very hungry so I got strawberry lemonade and fries. The fries were perfectly salted and crisp and the perfect temperature. When I was finished with my lemonade staff offered a FREE refill. I then politely asked for water instead and staff got perfect ice water very quickly. Great new place just outside Deerfield square. I would definitely recommend! read more
