We had the shroom burger which was perfectly fried portablello mushroom stuffed with oozing explorsion of cheese. We also got the Chicken Shack which was originally lauched at this location and it did not disappoint! This is definitely the best Fast food chicken sandwich ever ! Moist and Juicy chicken breast that was thick and perfectly fried to a nice crunch. Flavorful ranch dressing and some lettuce. There could be more crunch to the lettuce but the chicken was the star. The fries at shake shack are my favorite ever. Crinkle cut, super crispy exterior but nice pillowy texture inside. Options of beer shakes concretes and lemonade are always good. I planned this trip to Shake Shack as the ultimate "New York Trip." Coming from Long Island, there was no need for me to travel to the Brooklyn Bridge, walk over it and go get lunch. Now that I am in JC I can do just that. After my boyfriend and I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge we decided to get Shake Shack. I have never had it before, so I was really excited. I ordered a burger, no cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions. I saw someone with pickles on theirs after the fact, so I would have gotten pickles if I had known. I also had the fries and a cup for water. All together was $8.20. The burger bun was not what I was expecting, but it a good way. It almost reminded me of a McDonald's bun, but 100x better. The burger was a bit cold for my liking, so that is the reason for four stars. The fries we SO GOOD! They were crispy, salty and hot. They still had that potato flavor too. Shake Shack has Heinz ketchup and as a ketchup fanatic, I was very happy to see that. The staff was very kind and helpful. Before we sat down, (yes we were able to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon) one of the staff members cleaned off the table for us and then took our trays after we were done. They were very polite and charming. I will be coming back post lent because I really want to try one of their shakes. I'm a huge shake shack fan. love their burgers. I always get the shack stack because... it's simply amazing. BUT... let's talk about the chicken shack! So my friends and i hit up 3 fried chicken sandwhich joints in one evening to compare. I'd say the chicken shack was really good. bread - standard shake shack bread. soft, delicious chicken - white meat. pretty good for breast/white meat! not too dry like some other places. good thickness batter - the coating around the meat was the best. super crispy and seasoned to near perfection veggies inside - simple, good, nothing fancy. Overall, i think it's one of the best white meat chicken sandwiches. It rivals chick fil a, but i would choose FUKU's chicken sandwich over it. BUT you should def give it a try! This DUMBO location is also gorgeous. spacious inside. seating was easy to find on a friday evening. but why stay inside?? take your meal to go and go across the street to the gorgeous waterfront. beautiful view of the city skyline. there is also a citibike stop right in front in case you use that. This is a review of the Chicken Shack sandwich after my experience trying it yesterday. Overall, I was not impressed. Though the textures were great (chicken with a crisp outside and tender and moist inside, soft bun) there really wasn't much flavor going on. They say that there is "buttermilk herb mayo" on it, but it definitely didn't give enough to make the sandwich work. The same goes for the pickles. I didn't even notice their contribution to the sandwich. No kick. Just flat. And a chicken sandwich should come dressed for success. I shouldn't end up trying to rub the side in my hot dog toppings to try to give it flavor. Did it fill me up to some degree? Yes. But would I order it again or recommend it to others? No. I think they need to make it a lot more flavorful (flavors should pop!) and interesting before rolling it out in Shake Shacks all over. Aw man. Where can I start? One of the best experiences I've had at a Burger joint. To start off, we were visiting here in NY from Houston, TX. Place was very packed. To the point where we had to wait about 5 mins before they even let us in. Immediately our group scoured for some table space, while the others went to order food. Very simple menu yet attractive. Burger is very juicy and tasty. Fries are good as well. And a plus, they have beer!!! I'm a beer lover so I was ecstatic to find out they had their own brew. Pretty refreshing also. I've been here numerous times but this is my first time dining inside. I do love this location it give a restaurant feel. Service was pretty quick faster then I expected because it such a busy neighborhood with lots of tourist and so much in that area. I ordered the chicken shack and fries. I did notice that the line for the restroom was rather long It looks as if they have only one Bathroom stall. The seating area was clean and they also had wipes for you to clean your hands prior to eating. Very thankful for that. Will be returning again. This was my first time at any Shake Shack. I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't blown away, either. The food: I ordered the mushroom burger. My friend ordered a burger and fries. We shared the fries, which were delicious. The mushroom burger was good but it wasn't anything special. I had been walking around all morning in Brooklyn, and it appeased my hunger for the time being. The service: The line went fast. The order-taking went fast. We waited about 10-15 minutes for our orders to come out. The facility: HUGE, but we sat outside because all the tables were taken. Payment: Paid with a Visa gift card, so I can't speak to if they take American Express or not. Overall: Recommend going at least once. They are all over New York, and there are at least two of them at Terminal 4 at JFK, so you can catch it on your way out of New York if you didn't get a chance while in the city. read more

One of the Brooklyn locations that is testing out the recently introduced grilled chicken sandwich, the chain location does not live up to the Manhattan locations. One of the reasons for a lower review is the bathrooms, which aren't as clean as the other locations. Shake Shack is known for its fresh take on burgers and fries, but this location, using the bathroom kind of turned me off. Their half lemonade and half ice tea 50/50 drink was also mediocre because it was served room temperature. When I asked for more ice to freshen it up, the ice watered down the whole drink so it was just a waste of money and calories. I'm not sure if the batches they prepare are room temperature and left there, before serving with ice, but the balance of the acidity from the lemonade and sweetness from tea was so disconnected. In terms of their fries - crinkle cut and served hot so definitely a win. Now, going onto the sandwich itself. The bun was its traditional potato roll which wasn't very toasted, but still buttery and delicious. The herb-mayo was a nice and absolutely necessary addition to the dry, chicken breast. I usually get the crispy chicken sandwich but given that the grilled option was there I chose the grilled version. I was expecting the same type of juiciness of the crispy chicken from the grilled, but it was quite the contrary. The bacon that was on the grilled chicken was crispy, but not very memorable or special. I'll still enjoy an occasional crispy chicken sandwich but if you want a grilled chicken sandwich, make it at home yourself so you save money and don't eat overcooked-tasting, dry chicken breast. read more

I try not to leave bad reviews often, but this was a truly suboptimal experience. I've been to many different shake shacks around NY, and I usually leave with a full belly and a smile on my face. However, when I got here, I politely ordered a Root Beer float, excited to taste it. I was delivered a creamsicle float, so I took my complaint to the cashier who denied it with snide. I offered to pay a dollar for a refund, but it was not accepted. The premise is dirty and stained. Worst of all, the prices are outrageous. I recommend the Shake Shack near Pearl Street.
