I believe we all have been waiting for this restaurant to open and it's great that we have it here. First days after opening, were hell for all the employees so a big acknowledgement for all of them. And after several weeks that the trend was over I could find myself grabbing one of apple wood bacon. I must say that despite that this is my favorite choice for burgers this time I found them without the flavor that they usually have, whether it was the prep or the rush to take care of all customers but as you can see the burger was not as fluffy as usual it was like bland. We enjoyed the treatment, the distancing and all the guidelines they had. Despite that there was a moderate line we we eating within 25 minutes. This burger is truly better than a gourmet burger I've had at a sit down restaurant. We went around 9ish and the line wasn't super long. The parking lot in this area is always packed due to all the restaurants. You must wear a mask to enter. There is a register to order as well as iPads to order for carry out or dine in. My wife fell in love with Shake Shack while we were in Vegas, so we've been trying to make the trip up to Fishers for a while. We made it late on a Tuesday night, which is good for my anxious kiddos not having to wait in a long line. There wasn't anyone taking orders (maybe unless you only have cash?) - you put it in on a tablet across from the kitchen. So if you're paying with a card, you're probably better off ordering ahead with the app. Food was really good - not quite as mind-blowing as I remember on the west coast, but still great. I can imagine this place would be overwhelming given the size of the restaurant and parking lot during a busier time, especially being right off I-69, so definitely plan ahead where you can. Delicious burger and fries! We ordered on the app on our way to Fishers (per advice on Yelp). The app is easy to navigate- you do have to create an account which made it a little difficult for our two separate orders in our car. You are able to select a pick up time which is great. They have a pull thru line where you give your name and they give your order. It did seem quite busy inside so I'm glad we chose this option. I had the Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger and crinkle fries with a half tea/ half lemonade. The Shake Shack sauce was a nice addition to the burger. The burger was well cooked and nice and hot. The fries were great- the staff only gave us 2 ketchup for our two order of fries so I wish they had gave us more. The tea/lemonade was not for me- it was not very sweet and the tea didn't seem like it was meant for iced drink. My husband got a shake and let me try it and it was great! Checked out the popular Shake Shack - finally! I know I'm like a year behind everybody, but every time I had tried to stop by here the line was so long when they first opened. So I finally got to see what all the hype was about. I'm going to be honest, it was just okay. Not my favorite of burger places. I think my expectations were too high. The competitors are still rated higher in my book. The food is good, don't get me wrong. It's just not what I would rate them for the price. I think you are paying more for the location than for quality and quantity. The burgers are are eh/ok, with an extra side of grease. The average cost is about $8, I'd pay about half this for their burgers. They are smash burgers, so it's more about preference. Fries and shakes are good, not as overpriced as the burgers. Shake shack is my go-to spot for quick and tasty food options. For the space, there is a good amount of parking as well as seating indoors and outdoors. I've never had an issue finding seating, even on a busy weekend day. I find the kiosk system that you order at fast and pretty user friendly. You can come here knowing every time that the food with be very consistent quality. The food can be somewhat overpriced for what you get, I really wish that this location offered meal prices as well as a la carte. After hearing about it on social media, I was able to try Shake Shack in 2019 at the Mall of America in Minnesota and really liked it. So I was excited that we were finally getting one here. After waiting for the newness to die down, I stopped here for lunch. I was able to place my order via the easy to use app. I was given a time to get in the pick up line. I waited in the lot until my time, and it was about 6 cars ahead of me. My order was ready when it was finally my turn. I ordered a cookies and cream milkshake, strawberry milkshake, and 2 SmokeShacks. The shakes were good, but not great. In Minnesota, my mother had gotten a peach milkshake and said it was the best shake she'd ever had. She didn't feel the same this time around. Went to Shake Shack on Saturday around 5pm. Thank goodness it wasn't too busy. You place your order on a computer kiosk if paying by card. If paying by cash you see the attendant at the counter. I ordered a single cheese burger, with bacon and cheddar fries. My other half got a double with bacon cheddar fries. I have been to Shake Shake one other time and that was in New York in 2001. I completely forgot the patties are very thin, so I suggest to get a double if you are hungry. At the kiosk you are able to add to your burger, like avocado, bacon, pickles, onion, and extra sauce on the side. To drink they have 3 special drinks for summer. I got the watermelon mojito alcohol free. You do get free refills on all drinks. One of the employees Jack was walking around helping guest with more drink refills or anything else they needed. Very nice!! The food was hot and fresh, the pickles are really good and thick. The reason for the 4 stars is the food didn't wow me. Also, the bun was smashed/crinkled. If my husband and I could eat here everyday, I am worried that we would! Thankfully, we still live about an hour away from the nearest location, so our willpower isn't put to the test. Meeting a friend for lunch on a Friday, it was a choice between Portillo and Shake shack. I've been to Portillo before but not a shake shack. I went opening day but the line was out the door. It's not clear to a first time visitor, but you order at a station as you go in. Phone may be an option. I sat and waited for my friend. I ordered my food near what looked like was a cashier/register area. I wanted to try their Brooklyn beer. As I wrapped up, screen said I needed to wait for Assoc. I waited and even looked for someone. No one was at register or in the area. Others were waiting to order, so I cancelled beer and opted for water. Big disappointment. I got the fried chicken sandwich and fries. Restaurant was clean. Not real comfortable seats but that probably helps with turnover. I liked the outdoor seating. Fries were good. Chicken looked great but was underwhelming, it was bland. My food was left at counter and my name called. Friends name called and it was brought out to him. My husband and I decided to stop here on Wednesday after we were finished shopping at IKEA. This was our first time here so we wanted to see what the buzz was all about. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned Shake Shack was finally coming to Indiana. I first tried it in NYC several years ago after hearing about it and I was extremely delighted. Of course, with any new restaurant there are kinks. Having experienced this when Portillo's came to town (I am from the Chicagoland area and was already familiar with Portillo's), I knew what to expect during opening weekend. I purposely stayed away until the "hype" died down a bit. My first visit, I ordered ahead as I already had the app on my phone (I'm an app junkie, if there's a reward system or shortcut, I'm going to find it). My order was ready and waiting for me at the pickup counter and all I had to do was grab and go. Seamless. I ordered the avo bacon burger and fries. I'm a sucker for crinkle fries and these are one of my favorites. Both were hot, fresh and tasty. Yes, the burgers are small so if feel like you need more bang for your buck, go for a double. Otherwise, a single is the perfect size. You will get full. Social distancing is in effect and the second time I visited, the line was moving extremely fast. Ordering inside went smoothly (there are 3 self service kiosks as well as a register). I waited for my order for about 15-20 minutes which was to be expected. They also have a text messaging service that will let you know that your order is almost up, so you don't have to stand outside of the restaurant if you don't want to. There's also seating inside the restaurant. It is limited, however. Servers do bring your order to your table. All in all, Shake Shack will always be a favorite of mine.
