This was my first time here. The staff were nice and brought part of our order to our table, since it was taking too long. It was a pretty good burger, I wish I read the menu better, there were a ton of peppers on a bacon cheese burger. My fault for not paying attention. Cleanliness was at an all time low ( they should be on their A game with cleaning), 20min to receive order, the order was not accurate, when I brought it to their attention there was no offer to make it right. Onions were over a 1/4 inch thick. one burger was cooked thru but not dry, the other was raw in middle. tiny burger on big bun. forget the cheese fries. The mushroom burger is not a burger stuffed with mushrooms; no meat. The place needs a good scrub from doors down to the floors and I mean thorough sanitizing. My husband and I have been to this location a few times and the customer service is excellent. From the manager to the young lady, by the name of DeNisha, who was keeping the seating area neat and clean were so concerned for our experience. Online order and pick up: they were very rude when we arrived to pick up. No one was allowed to wait inside for their order. They made you wait outside in the freezing cold and claimed they would text when ready. But, my stated order time came and went and no text message. Food was sitting there getting cold, no employee bothered to text! If you're going to be rude and refuse to let people wait inside, at least have the decency to do your job and text when the food is ready! Please re train your employees, they just stand there and tell people to leave, they aren't sending out texts when the orders are ready. Food isn't being served at proper temperature. read more

Ok... so wanted to see what all the hype was about this place and I don't get it. The fries aren't fresh cut, which wouldn't be a big deal if they didn't cost so much. The cheese sauce was meh. The burger wasn't bad, but I couldn't taste anything special about their sauce. And they gave me the wrong shake I asked for half vanilla half chocolate and they gave me Oreo. Not sure if it's just this location or if it's how the whole company operates but this place is just terrible. We were the only customers waiting at the register to order as 3 employees just stood by idly for about 5 minutes. Yes they noticed us but I guess the assumption was someone else will take care of it. This is not an isolated incident, I've been here several times previously and somehow they've managed to give the same experience every time. If there's a manager or owner who is responsible for this location I highly recommend sending someone in to audit the customer experience. It's pretty abysmal. Also I do not understand why they cannot put condiments on hot dogs but they can on burgers. Is there anyone who can rationalize this for me because I'm clearly missing something here... either way I won't be returning. The cherry on top was after a 15 minute wait for a hot dog and chicken nuggets they ended up giving us the wrong order. Been trying different restaurants since lockdown, and shake shack is pretty good. I thought the burgers were ok, but I don't eat a lot of red meat so don't go by me. I do love their spicy chicken sandwich, so sad it's gone now. Their shakes are also pretty tasty, the Christmas cookie was gone, sad I didn't get a chance to try it. The cheese sauce for their frys is good too, I wish their was an option to add more on the side for their app. Online ordering I think is the best route. This place is pretty pricey, but a definite go to when I feel like splurging a little bit. read more

I am not sure what all the hype is about. Arrived right when they opened so service was quick. Table could of been cleaner. Burger was OK but small and thin and not for that price. Just average fries and overpriced. The shake was tasty, but I have had better. The ketchup and napkins needed to be refilled and like I said, they just opened. On 12/19/20, we ordered for 4 people using the app. We ordered at 6:30 p.m. to pick up at 7:15 p.m. We arrived at 7:15 p.m. We didn't leave with our food until 8:15 p.m. It was the worst experience I have had with any restaurant. They seemed to have issues with their equipment. Had they told us that we would have to wait an hour for our food, we would have cancelled. We got no information. There were tons of people waiting inside and outside, waiting for their food. When we got our food, it was thrown together terribly, and most of it was cold. No one knew what they were doing. Will NEVER come back. I will unlikely ever visit any Shake Shack again. Oh, by the way, besides an hour wait to get cold food, they couldn't actually make milk shakes because they were out. Went to shake shack for the first time. After looking on line ads posted a pumpkin shake and cookie butter shake. Inside signs all over advertising pumpkin shake but they said they didn't have it. Asked about featured shake but there wasn't one as also shown on menu board-highly disappointed again. Ordered meal and they take your name and phone no to text you when ready. If don't receive text in 10 min they ask that you contact them. Did not receive text in 10 min so went in and order had been sitting there for a while cause fries were cold. Awful experience at the Oak Brook,IL Shake Shack location. My husband and I just moved into the area and stumbled upon this location. We are huge Shake Shack fans we use to live in New Jersey and went to Shake Shack all the time! Even went to Shake Shack in NYC!We are originally from MI so we go back to Mi quite often and Shake Shack has opened a location in Ann Arbor, MI which I was so excited. NYC,New Jersey and Ann Arbor location has great food and even better customer service! Sorry to say this about the Oak Brook location. But this has been our first BAD experience ever at a Shack Shack and we have been to many! We were the only people in line there was a guy at the cashiers front and didn't say a word to us just looked at us so we stood there for a few minutes until another employee took initiative to take our order mind you we are the only people in line. After ordering went to sit down and the floor was a mess. Food all over the floor,tables not wiped down. This was 4:30pm it wasn't busy at this time so I don't know why everything was a mess in the dining room area. Picked up our food the guy that gave us our food was really nice. That was the only nice employee we had for our visit. So 1 out of 4 employees we dealt with was nice and pleasant. The bacon on our burgers were so over cooked it was dry and hard. Bun was super greasy cheese for our cheese fries was a thicker consistency then the other Shake Shack locations we've been to and burger was made messy when I picked it up everything fell out. Bummed because we love Shake Shack but we will never return to this location. We will just wait until we visit back home in Mi to enjoy what a Shake Shack is really suppose to taste like. read more

I have been here many times and never had the experience that I had tonight. I ordered a coffee shake and chicken nuggets. The shake I got was rancid and melted as if it had been poured out of a machine. I almost threw up; it was horrible. I returned it to the counter where the worker asked me what it tasted like? I told her it was disgusting. She replied softly, that she was sorry. She then grabbed another shake from the counter and insisted that it was fresh. It was not-certainly it was fresher than the first one, but it seems as if they made them ahead of time and lined them up. For $6.00, I'd like it made to order. Other times I have been there and the shake is two fingers from the top short. I can't help but think that maybe they messed with that shake given our current culture. Took my family of four to Shake Shack in Oakbrook to give it a try. My 10 year old son is still mourning the loss of Back Alley Burger - so I was hoping to find a solid replacement. I failed miserably. I am used to "expensive" burger joints and I'm willing to pay for quality. My bill for the four of us was $69. $ 6 9 ! Yes, there were three shakes and two cheese fries, but we didn't get any alcoholic beverages. I left the counter saying to myself "this better be good". It was not. My wife and I ordered Smoke Shack burgers which should be named Cherry Pepper Burgers. The only overwhelming flavor profile we got from that burger was the cherry peppers. Couldn't taste the bacon or the meat - only peppers. My youngest son's chicken nuggets were awful. He didn't eat them, and after trying them nobody else wanted to. DRY and loaded with black pepper. And to be clear - I am NOT a plain Jane person when it comes to taste and flavor profiles overall. The fries are frozen crinkle cut fries - not fresh hand cut - and mediocre at best. Cheese sauce not bad, but Portillo's fries and cheese blow it away much less Five Guys with fresh hand cut at the same price with larger quantity. The shakes were good, but again not better than five guys and TINY by comparison. We'll stick to Five Guys. Better burgers, MUCH better fries and bigger shakes for about 60% of the cost. I set the over/under at a year of survival in Oak Brook - but then again I could be wrong. All of the disposable income and love for a bougie setting in the area could keep it alive longer. read more

This location recently opened. It took way too long to get our food and they ran out of ketchup. Fries were cold and soggy. The manager did not care that any of this happened and just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't anticipate being so busy. Did he go to training or had he ever been to a Shake Shack before? This was our first time there today - 4 hungry kids and my husband and myself. Very pricey for burgers/fries/shakes but got rave reviews from the kiddos. However the oddest thing was we sat outside and the doors to go back in the restaurant would lock you out. Both doors and you can't get off the patio via the gate or the alarm will sound. We were all stuck on the patio until we banged on the doors and some kind person would let us back in. Well if that happened once fine but it happened our entire lunch!
