I had arrived back at my hotel located in the Oak Brook area on a Monday evening. After a conference workshop all day, I decided to order dinner via Uber Eats from Shake Shack. The Hampton Inn & Suites Downers Grove Chicago is where I was staying and it's about a mile or two off of Woodfield Mall. I ordered the Bacon Cheese Fries as well as the BBQ Burger with Bacon and they were delivered quickly, arriving within 20 minutes. It was a pretty quick delivery! The Burger was still hot when it came to me. The BBQ Bacon Burger had great flavors together with the smoky BBQ, crispy bacon, juicy patty! I was expecting the fries to arrive slightly cold since it was a delivered meal. The addition of cheese and bacon created a flavorful combination and although they did not keep their temperature well from the original heat when cooked at the restaurant, the fries with cheese and bacon was still pretty good. Came in craving burgers. The employee on the register pointed to their kiosks and said "if you're paying with card go here". The person in front of us paid with card, so it's not like she couldn't help us. I said it would be a lot easier if she would help us, and she just walked away. I went to order on the kiosk, but having only had shake shack once, I had a question about swapping cheese on a burger and the kiosk didn't seem to offer that change. On top of that, digital POS systems are confusing when you aren't familiar with the menu. We ended up leaving. Came here for a quick dinner before a group game night. The place is clean, modern, and has patio seating. 5/5 for ambiance. The service was pretty quick. If you dine-in, you place your order on tablets and then pick a table and they'll bring it to you. The main reason the rating is a 3 is the burger portions are way smaller than expected and not worth the $10 a piece. Everyone was still hungry after. I got the hot chicken and it was not spicy at all. Overall, the flavors were fine. I like the flavor combinations but none of the spicy options had any kick to them. They also came out piping hot so I can say they were fresh. But I'm giving a 3/5 because I don't think I would end up coming back here when there are other options in the area. read more

There seemed to a lot of pick up orders as there was a gent assigned to help people pick up there orders. As seen I order a Shack Burger and a patty for the little guy. My burger was fine, the fries were well done and everything else was fine. My little guy had 1/4 of the burger as he wasn't feeling it. So who knows on that one. The restaurant was a little messy and I was surprised given a few employees standing around by the registers and pick up area. Wednesday @ 12:00. Walked up to a large menu on the wall. Burgers, fried chicken sandwiches/nuggets, fries, drinks and shakes. Ordered our food on a very easy to use kiosk, which allowed us to customize our orders. Sat down at a table, and food was delivered about 5-10 minutes later. We had 2 burgers, 1 fried chicken sandwich, an order of chicken nuggets, 1 fries, 1 cheese fries, and 1 bacon cheese fries, as well as 2 cookie and cream milk shakes. Everything was good...served hot. Sandwiches are small--a little more like sliders than sandwiches. The milk shakes were rich and thick...yummy! Very pricey. Almost $70 for four people. But let's face it, it's 2024....and everything is ridiculously priced! The kids love this place. I have reviewed over 400 restaurants on this site and about 150 more another sites in all my life I have never been to a restaurant that was as filthy and dirty as this place my wife and I stopped in there in about 8 o'clock for a malted, never having been to a shake shack before we went inside and we're a little bit tied by their system of ordering I didn't see how we could get from a shake to a malt, but the young lady came out and helped us. She was very nice and the Two waltz were very, very good however even though it was icy outside and we avoided slipping there, it was almost impossible to walk on their floor without falling down, it was covered with grease everywhere to the point where you could see footsteps in the Greece the tables were all filthy. I had a wipe off the table with napkins before we could sit down after looking through a whole restaurant of nearly empty tables, and not finding one that was clean, and the garbage pails were all overflowing. The garbage was falling on the floor from the garbage pails. This is by far I hate to think what vermin they have in here and how the Board of Health in Oak Brook could allow this place to operate. It was worse than a pigsty. I've been in pigsties that made this place look worse than could be. It's just I cannot believe they're operating if I could give this -5 stars I would. read more

The hot ones wasn't spicy enough in my opinion, the chicken bites had breading that didn't stick so it just kept falling apart. The burger is as good as what you get at any fast food. In terms of "fast food", this is the BEST of those burgers. In terms of fancy burgers, this is mid range. Their new "umami" Korean bbq sauce burger is good. Not anything you can find at the drive through of Portillos! They've jumped the tech train with electronic ordering. You assign yourself a table number and you order everything on a computer screen. It's easy with photos and plenty of information. I went with my older grandparents and they slowed down the line. But I imagine, for the most part, these are easy. I ordered several burgers to try out and overall it wasn't that much better than McDonald's. Quality- I liked the chicken burgers more than the beef burgers. The big piece of chicken is nice and the cole slaw compliments it well. However, the beef Patty is very salty, greasy, and thin. It falls apart easy and doesn't have much taste. Way too much bun compared to meat. Quantity- not worth it for the price. These are not worth it for 10 dollars Service- self serve kiosks have long lines. We ordered the chicken nuggets and the chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. They were out of the chicken avocado sandwich I would have liked to try that. We also got a burger which was excellent and the cheese on the fries wasn't nacho cheese fries. The fries themselves were crinkle fries we could get anywhere. Nothing impressive. The hot chocolate shake was on par. The order kiosks at the front were also helpful. You could take your time. This doesn't strike me as kid friendly place but you can bring kids here. read more

I never really got the appeal about Shake Shack. I've been to different locations and it was always busy. I went to Shake Shack on a Wed because there was a coupon for like a free meal. They were decent burgers and fries but the portion size was small. I had a burger and fries and felt okay. I probably could have eaten 2 meals here at double the price. We had the regular shackburger, Korean bbq burger, bacon cheese fries, and spicy Korean bbq cheese fries. Shackburger was good, meat wasn't dry. Good flavor. The Korean bbq burger wasn't anything special. Nothing that would really distinguish it from the other burgers except for the crispy sweet onions and the sauce. I had real Korean bbq before, so I didn't get any nostalgia from eating it. To be honest, the smokeshack has a more memorable taste with its applewood smoked bacon and chopped cherry peppers. Both of the fries were tasty but not a lot. I would have been happier going to a Burger King and getting more for less. read more

It's shake shack. As fast food burgers go, this place is the easy favorite. I don't get the In & Out hype. SS is superior in every possible way. From their burgers (sans sauce) and crinkle fries to their customer service to their concretes made from pies from local pie shops. It's all happiness in my mouth. I'm so fortunate that they now have this location in Oak Brook. Visiting one in the burbs with ample parking makes this an easier choice than the west loop, where I always went before. When my kid gets to pick and she pics SS, I think I might be as excited as she is. read more

It was slightly confusing at first when you first get there since there's not that clear of signage to direct you to where the food is, but it wasn't too hard to fine after asking. Reliable and delicious Shake Shack!! It's definitely not a low priced fast food burger, not by a long shot! Great location without the over-crowding at North Bridge Shops location. Parking is dicey on Randolph. But if you are picking up, there's always a spot to put the flashers on and run in. Burgers can be made according to your specs. If it's not right, let them know.
