I've been hearing about Shake Shack for ever and it's now open! We stopped in on a Monday evening, and the line was out the door. It was a nice night so it wasn't too bad. We ordered a shack burger, shack stack, cheese fries, BBQ bacon cheese fries, and two drinks. You are given a pager and sent off. There are not enough tables so if you see one, grab it. We lucked out and got a table right away, but it was near the food window where people were waiting for take out. No one wants to eat with a crowd watching, so it's a shame the tables aren't arranged in a better way. Now, the food. We really liked everything. My cheeseburger was delicious, and husbands shake stack (with cheese stuffed mushroom on top of cheeseburger) was awesome. Fries were crisp and topped appropriately. The issue with the food is the size! The burgers are not large. For $9 for the stack, we expected something larger. If everything was 20% less, it would be decent pricing. All in all, it was good, but the atmosphere left a little to be desired. We had to wipe off the table ourselves (staff threw a package of wipes at us to clean it off). Also, pricing is high for what you get - $3.25 for lemonade?! We might come back, but with tons of other options in the area, it might be a long time til we return. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at the first shake shack in Ohio. We came just around lunchtime on a Tuesday, and surprisingly, they weren't really that busy at all. I ordered a single hamburger with just shack sauce on it and a root beer float. All the staff was super friendly and accommodating; definitely above and beyond what I would expect from a fast food restaurant. They also do a really good job of keeping things moving without making you feel rushed. Our food was ready just around the time we managed to find a table. I thought the burger overall was pretty good. To be honest, the actual patty didn't seem that much different than what you would find at steak n shake. However, all elements considered, this was many times better than any Steak 'n Shake I've been too. I'm usually extremely picky about the bun when it comes to my burgers, and this one earned my approval. I think my favorite part of the burger was the shack sauce. I'm not exactly sure what's in it, and I can't really think of anything to compare it too... maybe a zesty mayo? Either way, I wish I could buy that stuff in a bottle as I'd probably put in on just about everything. The root beer float really good as well. Like I said, I really enjoyed my experience at the Shake Shack. I am so so so happy that Ohio finally got a Shake Shack! I now have more than 5G and BF to choose from. Phenomenal & quick customer service (don't let the line intimidate you-- it goes fast!). Food comes out just as fast as the line. I *do* think SS is a little over priced (burgers are the same size as a steak and shake burger) BUT the food is top notch in quality and taste, and their fries are out of this world, so you quickly forget that it's over $50 for 3 burgers, 3 fries, and 2 beers. I love Shake Shack. I tried it for the first time in Miami, so I was super excited a restaurant opened in Cleveland. I visited this location twice since the opening and both times the resturant was SUPER busy! Luckily the order line moved quickly. Shake Shack has ample seating and an outdoor patio. They offer a variety of burgers, fries, and shakes. The Shack burger and cheese fries are my favorite. The burger is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. As far as the fries, who doesn't love cheese fries? The menu items are a more expensive compared to similar resturants. Shake Shack is a great burger joint. Can't wait until my next visit. read more

I'm happy to announce that management reached out to me and offered a coupon for a future visit. With that being said, I was still uneasy with going in person to sit. I couldn't use the coupon given with a delivery service, only with their app. Which is okay - we ordered & did a pick up. On our arrival, everything was much more placed together. Everybody had a sense of being, and they all knew how to handle the people coming up to pick up food or to dine in. Communication was much better with the employees, everybody was friendly and trying to help people visiting as much as possible. Although I hate to complain in a public space, in this situation, it really helped out.. things were operating much smoother now at their store front. Speak & he heard. :) -- With restrictions in place, visiting any restaurant at the moment is hard for anyone. The workers, visitors, people that stay to eat or take it to go. However, it's even worse and hard to handle when the workers aren't helping anyone understand what they're supposed to do. On arrival, the to go/pick up orders are stationed at the front of their store. There is no direction for people who want to dine in. Our party walked indoors, we were told to wait outside for a table. No problem. There was one couple before us. After waiting about 10mins, three other parties walked in front of us in line - one of them were told by the to-go order guy, to grab a table at the patio because there's only one left. We were ahead of them & have been waiting but were told not to go in. At this moment, we just got back in line on our own & grabbed the next table. There is no order. Everyone waiting outside have no idea which line to stand in. The indoor & outdoor workers are not communicating with each other. Causing a lot of frustration. People have walked away. We were close to leaving. We love the food here, but we should've ordered it via a delivery service to avoid the hassle. read more

Food and milkshakes = bomb (marshmellow chocolate chip shake is out of this world). Also... the fries are PERFECT. Don't let the long line intimidate you, it's honestly a 10-15 min wait. And yes many people say it's over priced, but honestly, you're probably spending $5 more here for an entire meal than you are at mcdonald's for an entire meal. I had never been to a Shake Shack but had passed the original location in New York during a visit. It is true, there really is a HUGE line out the door at that location. I was happy that I was able to try Shake Shack in Cleveland instead of standing outside in the cold with other New Yorker's. When I went, this location did not have a line and we had our order taken right away. We told the cashier we'd never been here before and asked for suggestions. She was able to recommend a classic as well as tell us what her favorite options were. The food really is that good. The burger and fries are delicious and Instagram-worthy. I came here the day after Shake Shack opened and I was nervous that the line would be crazy, but it really wasn't bad at all. I think we probably waited about 15 mins and employees were walking around passing out water and menus to everyone as they waited. I ordered the Shack Burger and Cheese fries with the cheese on the side. After ordering you are given a beeper that will go off when your food is ready. The restaurant isn't huge, so seating can be tricky but after a few minutes some tables opened up. My burger was perfectly cooked with really creamy melty cheese, it was really good! My fries were ok, but I wasn't as impressed with them or the cheese sauce. I would definitely come back for another burger and to try some of their desserts though! read more

I reserve the rite to modify at a future date, but the initial impression, on a Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks after opening...was pretty good. There are a few things to keep in mind. 1) You will wait in line to order 2) People seem to crowed the pick-up window, even when their buzzer has not gone off, so you have to fight through the crowed. Not a company problem, they cashier does tell you to find a seat until the buzzer goes off. 3) People seemed to be sitting and enjoying the day after they were done eating. Like I said, there is a line. So this is not a place to sit and chat, it is eat and move on so the next person can sit. 4) Restrooms serve one person at a time. The mens room could have three or four facilities, but they only have one. Remember the waiting in line? Applies here to. Food - The price is a little more then 5G, but I personally liked the burgers more. They had great flavor. The look a little small initially, but they were extremely filling. We also had the BBQ Bacon cheese fries, because who does not like a heart attack at some point. These are crinkle fries, which I usually don't like, but these were fantastic. The cheese is not gloppy nacho cheese but a store made sauce. The bacon is real bacon crumbled on top. The BBQ sauce is their home sauce just lightly drizzled. I believe they have beer as well. Excellent food. Flavor, presentation, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Sometimes fast food can be sloppy or feel thrown together. Not this, this felt meticulously prepared. The potato buns were also a nice change from traditional burger places. We highly recommend Drove in for second time. Still incredible food. The wait staff was quite courteous even in a dinner rush situation. Their take on upscale fast comfort food still does not disappoint. Also tried their shack-ago dog, coffee milkshake, and chicken bites and was not disappointed. I've read reviews and I've heard people's opinions about what is so great about shake shack. I grew up eating Swenson's so I really like the thin burgers listed between goopy cheese. I like the simplicity of the menu but don't like that only one shake size is available (good sales tactic for them). I ordered the double burger, crinkle cut fries with cheese on the side (so they didn't get soggy) and an oreo milk shake. I really liked the food but living on the westside of Cleveland we have Bearden's and Swenson's so in the future, I would not make a special trip to come here but would eat here again if I am in the area. read more

Oh Sweet Jesus is this place good! We have been waiting and waiting to find a day where the line was not wrapped outside and down the sidewalk and FINALLY we hit it at the right time (5:30 on a Thursday). Let me just say I now know why they keep such a line. These burgers are truly delicious. We arrived and the line was just to the door - but I must say it doesn't take a whole lot for the line to reach the door as it is not a large place... and the line moves quickly. Jamal, our counter host was great! He understood it was sour first time and was great to explain items to us! I had the Shack Stack - a double Shack burger with cheddar cheese and a portobello mushroom stuffed with cheddar and Munster on it and Shack sauce. (I have the Tomato and lettuce left off), fries and a Oh My Pie for dessert. The Oh My Pie is a Custard Concrete (think blizzard but better) made with pecan pie. It's amazing AND the give 5% of each to animal charity locally! My daughter had the same but with BBQ Bacon fries, my sister had a plain burger and fries and my niece had a Chicken Shack Stack. Hers was a lightly breaded chicken breast on a bun she said it was so delicious. Very juicy and had loads of flavor not like most fast food chicken sandwiches. They do not have kids meals which was odd but we made it work. I was just surprised that they don't have any smaller meal ideas for kiddos. The burgers they have to me are much larger than a child would be able to do and they def would need to share fries as they can easily feed two. People have complained about the price but to that I say you get what you pay for. I easily pay 9-12 at BSpot for a burger and this burger was right up there with a BSpot. I ventured out to try the Shake Shack! Glad I did. I heard mixed reviews so I decided to try it for myself. Luckily the line was short and the service was fast. However they got my shake order wrong but once I saw it on my receipt the error was corrected before I got my order. I ordered the smoke shack burger, fries and a mocha cookies and cream shake. The burger was delicious, moist flavorful and the peppers added the right amount of kick with the shack sauce . Portion size could have been bigger but with the shake and fries I was pleasantly full. I don't like crinkle fries sooooo not moved by them, fresh cut fries would set this combo off. But that Shake???? May just be one of the best I've ever had. It was so thick and filled with cookie I had to take the straw out a couple of times to keep drinking(eating) it. Shake Shack is a great burger place and honestly in my wife and I's opinion it is top 10 so far. But there are reasons that we can only give it a 4 out of 5. But we will start with the good first: PROS: When you first walk in the cashier is usually welcoming and ordering is pretty simple. We both ordered the smokeshack burger which offers a great clash of flavors. We would definitely recommend if you don't know what to get. The burgers are defaultly cooked at medium temperature unless you request otherwise. I personally would say to leave it at the default cook, medium temperature allows for a slightly firm exterior with a softer interior allowing no hesitation with every bite. Every time you bite down it'll be as easy as closing your mouth and you won't wanna stop until the burger is no more. As far as the price goes, $6.89 for a single and $9.69 seems a little high considering the price but after you eat it it's actually more filling than you think and the price isn't half bad for what you get. We also ordered the cheese fries and the bacon cheese fries. The portion size was pretty good at $3.79 for normal cheese fries and $4.79 for bacon cheese fries. The fries are pretty good ate warm. Now on to the drinks, shake shack as the name implies has an assorted array of shakes that can be a good addition to any meal. My wife tried the seasonal pumpkin shake and in her opinion it was and I quote "the best pumpkin shake she's ever had" . Has great consistency and allows for a smooth drink. Clocking in at $5.69 for the 16oz it's not a bad addition to any order. Shake Shack also offers a choice of fountain drinks or a choice of regular or their limited time flavored lemonades. I had the limited time lemonade which at the time happened to be cranberry apple, great flavored lemonade that's not too sweet or too sour and not bad for a price of $3.59 for the large. Now on to the customer service. The customer service is pretty good from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The cashier is friendly and everyone is very kind. The worker who was cleaning even offered to throw our trash away for us when we were done. Store is also pretty clean and someone is always taking care of the tables. So no issues in that area. Now I know we were all waiting for it, the reason why they only get 4 out of 5. Small things really but enough to make a difference. CONS: So there really are no cons on the burger so don't worry. But the first con actually comes from Shack Sauce itself. The sauce is really only good on the burger. The waiter recommended two sides of sauce for our fries but we were not impressed. The sauce has a very thick consistency that makes dipping difficult and the overall taste is a little weird by itself. Would not recommend. Second con comes from the Cheese Fries. While the cheese fries are very good when you first get them and they are hot. But unfortunately unless you are starving and you eat the fries at the speed of light they are going to cool down and the cheese gets clumpy and after a few minutes down right inedible. But like I said, great fries, just don't wait to long to eat them! But that's all for the cons and the very small reasons we had to knock down the 5 start rating. So overall we would recommend Shake Shack to anyone who likes a good burger and a great shake. Definitely a great place to go if you're looking to gain some weight and feel great while doing it! read more

Both were good we did not that the buns could be a bit more substantial so it holds together but that's probably a preference thing. Shake Shack is one of my favorite fast food restaurants but this place has really gone downhill since the last few times we ate it. First off, we're this far in to new pandemic protocols and it was still somehow a confusing experience. We were told to wait outside for our mobile order, so I politely asked to use the restroom while we waited and was told it was for customers only despite being a customer. Secondly, they'd turn away some people and let in others - a big party of 6 was able to go in but a party of 2 was turned away right before them. That doesn't make much sense if you have customer limits? Everyone seemed confused as they'd watch others walk in right after they were turned away seconds earlier. Lastly, our mobile order was 20 minutes late despite ordering it 30 minutes ahead of time. My drink was put IN the bag (?) which then promptly fell over and leaked everywhere and everything was greasy. The breading came right off of the nuggets the second you touched them and they were bogged with oil. I've been to this location many times pre-pandemic when it was absolutely packed with people and things went smoothly and the food was top notch. Not sure what has happened but I'll give it quite a bit more time before I return and hopefully have a better experience. read more
