So I actually thought this food was decent. I thought it was just gonna be another fast food place but it was different. The atmosphere was very chill and I had a good view outside while I was eating. It was a beautiful day out. Service took about a few minutes when it came to ordering but at least it gave me time to think about what to get. I got a ShackBurger, very simple yet very good. For my first time here, I thought it was chill. I'd go back. Fries were crispy and the shake was thick and creamy. Custard is the next best thing.

We came in for the burger month deal so we ended up getting pretty good value for two sandwiches! The restaurant is clean and service was decently fast for how busy it was.

Did an online order which was pointless because I waited forever for someone to even acknowledge me at the window. Second, I ordered the shroom burger and it was horribly burnt! Why would you give that to someone?! Then I asked for sauce on the side and he of course it wasn't in the bag! Newington location is so much better! My sandwich looks nothing like the pic!!

The new Korean sauce on the chicken pieces was really yummy. It has a little tangy flavor that I liked. The fries were made perfect and the pomegranate drink was unique and flavorful. The staff was very engaging and friendly.

Service - quick! I like how they have kiosks to help order quick. I haven't had to go to employees which is convenient if im in and out. Ambiance - nicely done, this is a newer location. Food - Smoke Shack burger - my favorite burger, the peppers amazing & sauce is a nice touch Fries - good Cheese fries - its nice to have here and there not every visit. Its a lot of cheese to handle at once sometimes. Bacon cheese fries - not my favorite, not a fan of the bacon bits. Avocado bacon chicken sandwich - my first time trying this and i added red peppers & shack sauce it was a good choice. Drinks - Shakes - are okay, ive only gotten the regular base flavors such as chocolate/vanilla. Dragonfruit pomegranate lemonade - its okay, very earthy and sweet at the same time Location - it's honestly in a odd location you have to go park behind building to go inside. I can see this getting busier once whole foods opens up next door.

Tried the Shake Shack which recently opened up in South Windsor. #1 complaint is this is very limited for vegetarians. They only offer one veg burger which is a portabella mushroom with cheese. While I did order this (and it was good), I like to have a few alternative veg burger options. The fries were "ok". Crinkle style, no variety. Staff were friendly although you order via the computer. Outdoor seating available. Indoor seating is not all that appealing for ambiance.

A good burger for the area, in an area with lots of burger options. Blends in with the rest, but the quality is there to make it worth a try. Believe it or not, I have not been to a shake shack yet. There's always been one in driving distance, but I never wanted to really make a trek to one of these places. So when one opened up in the "Fancy" shopping plaza, I decided that now's the time for us to give it a go. Walking in, there is a slew of ordering kiosks and a single bored lady manning the register up front. Most everyone was fine with ordering via kiosk, so we followed the trend. They were promoting a white truffle burger and fries, and I like my fancy ingredients. So I give it an order, along with one of their portabella mushroom burgers "in the grass" and some truffle fries. We stake a claim at one of the booths. Place is open and clean, a single associate going around and attending the tables and cleaning them as people get up and leave. It's definitely set up to be a fast-casual place. You order your food, you eat, you leave. No real hanging out here. Our order comes up relatively quickly, and I get a text to pick up my food. I get handed my tray by another associate, then wait till they run to help another to actually grab extra napkins and ketchup. The burger is a pretty standard smash burger, unseasoned but with a strong crust. Bun was toasted, soft and sturdy. the frizzled onions were greasy, they were put into a cold fryer so they did crisp but absorbed most of the oil. Any taste that could've come from any of the other elements was completely obliterated by the overpowering smack of white truffle in the sauce. That might sound like a detractor, given that you would expect everything to have it's own flavor. but given that every other element had absolutely no real flavor of their own, there needed to be an overly aggressive sauce to make it taste like anything. That did leave the burger to being one-note. effectively being a sensation of textures with this heavy white truffle mayo doing all the heavy lifting. The mayo was good, but hard to justify eating a burger based solely on it. The portabella "burger" was effectively a mushroom cap stuffed with a slab of mozzerella then battered and deep fried. I was hoping that was going to be the "healthy" option, but there was nothing healthy about that. It's a giant cheese-stuffed mushroom. Once again, it was good but one-note. Heavier than one would expect. The fries were actually very good! the crust was very slight but very crispy, and the potatoes were pillowy and soft on the inside. The parmesean cheese was salty but not overpowering, and gave the fries the salt they desperately needed. I tried their shack sauce, and it was an olive oil mayo with a little ketchup in it. kind of lackluster, but it was a very creamy sauce with a good mouthfeel. My biggest problem with this place is that this is a burger joint in an area with about 8 different places that also sell burgers. Granted, this is one of the few that are fast-casual with a decent quality. There's a lot of competition, and this place will have to lean into it's brand name to help drive sales. However, If you haven't tried a shake shack it's a nice place to try. This one is done well, the staff is friendly and the food is good for a fast-casual burger joint. You will be flush with choices for that area, but if you're swinging by the apple store and need a burger, this place can fill that need.

    Chicken Bites

They gave me 8 chicken nuggets instead of 10 and they were burt... he literally put them down and said "here" and tossed the tray down in a huge rush.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a shake shack on Evergreen walk. Entrance was on the back side which was odd. Shack stack was my favorite. Chicken stack was second. Dreamsicle shake and chicken bites were ok.

What can I say it's Shake Shack you can go wrong with Burgers and Fries and Frozen Custard. They have only been open for a week. But this team runs a tight ship. They had crayons and an activity sheet for the littles to keep them busy while we waited for our food. We would have liked to try their new dreamsicle frozen custard drink but they were so busy the past couple days. They're all out of vanilla custard. Can't fault them for that. This location is smaller on the inside than the one in West Hartford, but has plenty of outdoor seasoning for when the weather is nice. I think this was a nice addition to Evergreen Walk. Littles got a Cheeseburger & Chicken Bites. I tried out the new White Truffle Burger and we split an order of fries.

The food here is always decent. This trip I got the smokestack burger. I found it to be enjoyable and a little different with all the diced pepper on top. I wish the bun was a bit more toasted and less soft/soggy but that could be that I was doing pickup and it sat for a few mins before I got to it. Service is relatively quick considering that the food is made to order. The inside is very clean with this store being less than a year old. I would recommend this place to others to try out. I didn't have a shake this time, but they are very good. My only gripe with shakeshack is that they are comparatively on the more expensive side for what you get.

Ambience: they have a spacious contemporary dining room and a separate bar section complete with TV screens all over the place. Food: we ordered: Calamari - the portion size was average, but the squid pieces were small in size. 4/5 Pastrami Reuben - this was a bit too salty and oily. 2/5 Dry Age Burger - this was really good. The funkiness of the dry age flavor came through. The burger was moist and hit the spot. 5/5 Onion Rings - 4 jumbo fried rings of oniony goodness. 5/5 Service: super friendly and nice.

Server showed up quickly and took our drink orders. Menu is extensive and should provide plenty of options for everyone. (Pictures of menu included here) We ordered the 5 ounce burger with cheese and fries and the Texas hold em burger with bacon minus tomato and lettuce and fries and the French onion soup. There was a short wait till the soup came out. Nicely covered with melted cheese on top. The soup was good but didn't have the depth of beef flavor and spice texture that I was looking for. There plenty of onions, croutons, and cheese and overall it was okay. The burgers were well cooked and flavorful. They offered two sizes of their standard burgers, 5 or 8 ounces. The smaller size was just right for the person I was with. The cheese seemed to melt into the burger so it wasn't really visible. The hold em burger was large and had onion straws and three slices of very crispy bacon on top. There was a dollop of the bbq/house dressing and plenty of onions straws. The straws were nicely fried but not crispy by the time they reached the table but added a good dimension to the burger. It was good to leave the tomato and lettuce off as the height of the burger made it tough to bite into. The fries were disappointing. They had the right color for being fried and crispy but they were limp and soft. They are clearly are fresh cut from large potatoes but really need to be fried longer to get that crispy crunch you'd expect. Told the server that and was told to ask for the fries extra crispy. Overall not a bad first trip. We'll go back and try some other things on the menu and see what extra crispy fries are like.

This place had 4.4 stars when I found it after visiting a cleaning my employees were doing in south Windsor in Pepin Place (named for legitimacy and to prove this is not a robot) The server had a weird energy from the jump but it was ignorable and I'll keep my race out of it; we've all had bad days. She let me try a beer before I eventually ordered it, everything was fine. We ordered our food, and with a staggering 4-5 other people in the restaurant, our food took much longer than it should've in my honest opinion. That is just icing, not my main issue, but since we're reviewing a restaurant and not a doctors office, yeah... I explicitly asked if the half nachos were a good size for one person, and the server seemed adamant they would be so I got that and onion rings. The food finally came and I'm not exaggerating when I saw there were 12-15 chips on the plate. For a half order, the chicken portion was fine but I didn't order a pile of chicken. My lady's smash burger was probably the least appetizing thing I've ever had brought to a table I was sitting at. We respectfully let the server know her burger looks terrible and I admitted to eating some of the nachos so I'd pay for it, but that I would like to send the nachos back. My son with me had chicken tenders and got be with us, his food looked more appetizing than anyone else's. The server/bartender took it upon herself to take our comments about the food personal, which was evident by her snap response to let us know the obvious- that she didn't cook it (Sherlock is ALIVE). It all went left from there; the server brought me a check with an extra drink on it, tried to refuse printing me another check but I made her. She brought the check back and I took it upon myself to compare the check (which only states the general classification of the item, not the item) to the menu. This restaurant is likely charging everyone extra dollars on menu items because I found my son's chicken tenders listed as $14 in the receipt but the menu says $13 (again, numbers inserted to add legitimacy). She tried to tell me she'll just charge a dollar less than what the receipt says but that's not gunna work for me (don't know about you) at a place that just tried to over charge me TWICE within a 3 mins span. Server took it upon herself to call her boss, who unfortunately was not in today. I'm confident her story is missing key details and this review is a love letter to him directly. It's also a warning that I scanned my receipt, left this review stating it was about $58, and I'm sure they don't want the consequences of retaliating by trying to overcharging me for a third time. I'd stay far away from this place if you enjoy good service and quality meals.

Server was mostly attentive, though as someone who served prior I would bring out ketchup automatically with burgers and fries, I'd eaten a quarter of my meal by the time it came out after a few minutes. Staff were very accommodating in moving our table so the setting sun was not in our eyes on our reserved one. Booth was nice and comfy and it wasn't too loud. Overall, I found this restaurant to be okay. I had tried another location a few years ago in MA, and have not really been impressed by this chain. I also got the gluten free lobster roll, and maybe it's the style I wasn't a big fan of (warm buttered), but I think there's an opportunity to butter the roll itself and toast it on a griddle to invoke that crispy buttered roll that screams lobster roll deliciousness. When you sit down, you get a small paper cup of water. The menus are on the the wall - soups, sandwiches & ice cream. The atmosphere is a 50's style ice cream restaurant that also serves food. There are some tables. Some counter seats. Workers in old timey outfits. Definitely an old school vibe that they pull off. Service was friendly. I visited with two goals. Try a hot dog. And eat an Original Bernice Winged Cheeseburger. Probably the most famous burger in CT. SG uses CT's Grote & Weigel hot dogs. They split and grill them. They served mine sort of sandwich style on a long bun with a toothpick in the middle. Definitely an original presentation. They have no specialty dogs beyond the crispy cheese they also serve on the burgers. They do give you quality packets of relish, mustard and ketchup and a small container of chopped onions. I added all these ingredients. And it was a tasty dog. The Original Bernice Winged Cheeseburger arrived, looking like a monarch, sitting on a throne of crinkle cut French Fries. The crispy cheese design, with all those angles extending from the bun, is an engineering marvel. There is melty cheese too. The burger looked about like a quarter pound. Tasted good. I added lettuce and tomato. Both fresh. A one of a kind burger that has thrilled people for Decades. The fries were fine. The Cole Slaw, however, was top tier. There was more than just thin chopped cabbage. Kale maybe. Some other stuff. The dressing was tasty, and the slaw wasn't overly dressed. Shady Glen is a CT classic. Indeed, an American Classic according to James Beard. Who can argue with that? 4.25 Stars
