This was my first time visiting a shake shack and I wasn't extremely impressed. The chicken nuggets (I think they call them something else but they're basically nuggets) were tasty but they were supposed to come with dipping sauce and they were out of all kinds of condiments at this location. The fries were okay, but definitely not my favorite for fast food fries. If eating at this location, be prepared to wait a long time because the line seems to always be long. When we went we had to wait about 20 minutes for our food. And the inside is not large so you have to stand crowded in near others the entire time. The employees do not appear to enjoy their jobs in any way, which I don't blame them but it doesn't make for a pleasant interaction. read more

Food Shake Shack has among the best burgers in the world. It's always a nice go-to location for a quick, scrumptious bite, and it definitely always leaves me full afterwards. The fries are to die for and the burger always melts in your mouth. Pricing I must say that the prices are somewhat overpriced, but it's alright for a once-in-a-while treat. Parking It's Tyson's, so there's ample parking either via garage or outside. Ambiance It's lively inside, and it's a great place to catch up with old friends. I hadn't eaten in about 18hrs so ANYTHING remotely edible would have done the trick. We toyed with the idea of eating at a sit down, but decided to rip and run and since I had never been to a SS, we ended here. First timer so I got the Shack burger (a double I wasn't there to play around) and a black and white shake. We also shared fries which could have been more plentiful. I will tell you - this burger hit way different than my recent trip to in n out burger. I mean a WHOLE MOOD here. The burger was just the right level of juicy, greasy, and buttery. Lettuce was crisp as was the tomato - and looking back the main thing I could of used more of was the shack sauce. I think the real MVP was the crinkle cut fries which were insanely crispy. Very enjoyable and way better than in n out. As for the shake - tasted pretty much like a regular chocolate to me. Another update: I was given a full refund UPDATE: The guy responded to my Yelp review and said they'd email me. They have yet to email me back from my online complaint about the missing food or email me like he said they would from this review. I've eaten in before and the food is decent. The customer service when it comes to delivery and getting my money back for not receiving items is really time consuming and bad. :( I don't really leave a lot of bad reviews but this is just taking up too much time and effort. read more

Well!! I appreciate having shake shack at the mall and I love shake shack in general but this store doesn't deliver the experience as it should be!! The buns were different and taste like potato buns, not bad but not what it should be!! I got the chicken sandwich and the breading from outside was so dark and jerky!! Double fried??? Bad oil ??? I don't know!! It's a small location and doesn't have a restroom and I understand but at least put hand wipes and hand sanitizer!!!! This is not acceptable!!!! Really!! Food was good as always! We ordered at the kiosk and waited around 10 minutes for our food. The only downside is that it took us a bit to find this location in the mall. It's on the mall grounds but you technically have to exit the mall to find it. Most of the seating is outside which would be nice in warm weather. But it started to drizzle and got super windy. There are very few tables in the actual shake shack and then I guess you can always bring the food back into the mall. read more

Shout out to the hardest working young man at SS imo during our weekend "linner" family meet-up ('tween lunch and dinner). He's one person monitoring the line for in-door diners while handing out ALL pick-up orders. Appreciate his calm demeanor. Worst location of Shake Shack in the DMV. It's so tight and cramped - barely any room to eat or stand in line. Ordering through the app helps skip the line, but there is no pickup location anymore, so you have to squeeze through to the pickup counter and show your mobile order. Wish they had a sign to indicate that. Although the burgers are good, it's a very chaotic and hectic store. I don't recommend this location if you can avoid it. read more

I've been to many Shake Shack locations and they've all been fairly consistent, they basically never miss food wise in my opinion (as far as fast-ish food goes). The Tysons location requires you to park in a garage and reach Shake Shack through a walkway outside or to walk through to mall to reach it so not the easiest way. The wait times can be long (even when ordering online) due to the amount of volume this location sees. The space they have is also pretty small so a lot of people are usually gathered around. We had to wait about 10-15ish minutes after our pickup time before getting our food. They only had 1-2 people handling the pickup order and the outside line so it's kind of understandable. We got the Shroom Burger, a SmokeShack, bacon cheese fries, a black sugar vanilla shake (seasonal?), and a salted strawberry limeade 50/50. The SmokeShack was solid as usual, good spice from the peppers and always loved the bacon. Of course their patties are nice and smashed (and cheesed). The shroom burger was really cheesy (like we like) but not so crispy, understandably due to the travel time. Their crinkle fries, crispy like I'm familiar with, the cheese and bacon just made it better. The Shake was good, reminded me of a caramel flavor. The limeade 50/50 was ok, I think the tea kind of muted the flavor I was expecting. Next time I order from here, I'm going to try and plan ahead better, it's hard to avoid Tyson's crowds. read more

The classic shake burger was OP, you can never go wrong with this. The Smoke Shack was even BETTER. The peppers are hard to describe, not spicy and not sweet or salty, now you're confused and have to try it for yourself. They're cherry peppers, they don't taste like cherries though, or do they? My review is just on the spicy chicken sandwich. I wanted to try this, as I've been seeing ads for it online. However, I'm so disappointed by how small this $8 sandwich is! I think they're even smaller than Shake Shack's regular burger. The amount of slaw that they put in it was little to none. Taste-wise, it's OK, but you can definitely find a better one elsewhere. I finished the whole thing in probably five bites- it's better suited to be named as a slider than a sandwich. For a chicken sandwich, you should go elsewhere. Shake Shack! I finally got a chance to go to it for once, and it wasn't until I made my way to the East Coast. Yeah there's some in the LA area, but I rarely go to those areas, so :( This is in the Tyson's Corner Center, and you'll have to walk a ways to get to here. But once you do, you'll have to stand in a pretty long line to get your food haha. This place is pretty small, with not too many tables inside, a couple tables outside. If you really want to eat close, go to the food court just outside, a couple steps, and then upstairs. (you'll have to take it to go haha). They do take a while to get the orders ready due to the crowd that's here. I went for the Shroom Burger, which has crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. Once you bite into it, you'll understand the love for the chain. It's really really good and has so much flavor in there :3 The bad news is that you'll probably finish it within 2 minutes haha. I'm so glad I got this burger! Also went with the classic shackburger, which also has the shacksauce as well, along with cheese and the patty. With my mind already blown, this was just alright. Shake shack makes my favorite fast food burger. It's juicy, it's beefy, it's cheesy, the bun is soft and compliments all the other ingredients. The fries are good and the cheese sauce makes them great. This time we tried the shake stack and it wasn't that great. The actual burger wasn't as juicy as my previous experiences. The stack portion is cheese thats sandwiched between mushroom caps that's all breaded and deep fried. The mushroom was rubbery and the cheese was cold. It didn't add anything to the burger and it reassured me to stick to the original shack burger. Conceptually I'm not a huge fan of the industrial concept of design but it does work in some places. It works best in Manhattan where I experienced shake shack for the first time but it doesn't work in this Tyson's location. We also tried the shack dog and it wasn't particularly good. The actual hot dog was tough, rubbery and wasn't as good as a good old Nathan's hot dog you can get at any supermarket. I was too full to try any of their sweet items and I hear great things about their concretes which is a blend of soft serve ice cream and toppings. Next time I visit a Shake shack I'm going to resist ordering anything but the burger and fries to leave room for some of that famous concrete. read more

I mean it's Shake Shack, like how can u go wrong? I get the same thing every time, today I got an iteration of the same thing. Lol! I ordered the smoke shack double burger (usually I do regular) with cheese fries. I love this burger. The first time I had it was in Dubai (I sound fancy) and it came w/ veal bacon and was everything. The cherry peppers win me over every single time. The cheese for the fries come on the side which I appreciate because it means there's less mess. Do yourself a favor and ask for extra smoke shack sauce on the side to dip your fries in, you won't regret it. It was crowded in there on a Saturday around 1pm so there's not a lot of places to stand or even eat. Luckily, I was at the Hyatt next door so we were able to take our food to our suite and be glutinous in peace. read more

Caveat: this place is small and has few seats. During the warmer temps, there will be extra seating outside, but in the winter time, during peak dining hours, there's just not a whole lot of room to sit nor is there much standing room. It's best to order online and pick up your order. Although I've not had an authentic Chicago dog, I am in love with Shake Shack's version. I do have two, minor issues, the bun did not hold up. I tried to get a good first bite, but the bottom of the bun was split and the contents kept falling out. Secondly, and I know the pickles are standard to this dog, I felt the pickle slices were too big. They were almost the same size as the hot dog. Peeves aside, this hot dog tasted great; all the flavors came together and I like the sport peppers. I'm pretty mad at myself for being so closed minded about this type of hot dog. Some reviews mention grass fed beef, i have not seen anything saying grass fed beef, i think it is angus beef that is hormone antibiotic free. Not organic, but angus beef is a bit pricier than organic beef. The beef patties overall flavor is similar to five guys. The brioche potato bun and shake shacks unique shack sauce give you a burger that is arguably superior to five guys. The man taking my order may have been the owner or manager and was very friendly. The fries were okay, not bad. I would not get the fries again due to the soybean oil used to fry them, which is proudly advertised on the website as being healthy and cholesterol free. Food: So when comparing to rivals like Five guys, the BGR burger joint and Smashburger, I believe shake shack takes the top spot in terms of beef patty. It is impressively delicious. I made a quick stop into this Shake Shack location on my way to DC to get my fix as there isn't a location close there where I live. This location is teeny tiny and located outside the Tyson's Corner mall. The staff here are really friendly and made sure we got our food quickly and efficiently. I tried the chicken nuggets here and they were really, really good. The breading was seasoned perfectly and fried until crispy. I had to get some cheese fries too, as the cheese here is liquid gold! The cheese wasn't as hot and melty as it is at other locations, so it was congealed on top of my fries. It didn't look very pretty, but it still tasted good. My only complaints about this location is that there's very limited seating inside which is unfortunate when the weather isn't vert nice. It's also quite expensive - it was almost $30 for two drinks, chicken nuggets, a burger, and two fries. I would come back to Shake Shack again, but since it's quite expensive and not very good for you, this will have to be a treat saved for special occasions. read more

To be honest, I've been wanting to try Shake Shack for some time now because of all of the hype and since it's always packed whenever I walk by one. It seems like a craze that's slowly hitting the nation, with stores popping up everywhere. I really wanted to love Shake Shack because I know the founder was from St. Louis and some of the menu is based on the city, which has a special place in my heart, but I just couldn't do it. Food: Single Shack burger and crinkle cut fries - The meal put me back a good maybe $10. The single patty Shack was a pretty sad burger which definitely didn't have enough meat or anything inside to be considered a decent burger because of the soft/doughy bun. Crinkle-cut fries were pretty basic, a small portion size, and weren't anything special. Definitely not as good as five guys cajun fries or In-N-Out fries. I thought the single patty five guys was better than the Shack burger and the regular in-n-out burger is way way better. I probably should've tried the double stack Shack burger or the Shack Stack sounded really good, but I didn't want to spend $15 at a fast-food restaurant during the week. I just didn't come in with the mindset of the meal costing a decent penny before I walked in. Also, the fries were pretty disappointing, to be honest. Didn't try the Shake aspect of Shake Shack, so maybe that's what I'm missing from the whole experience. A little confused by the menu and how it includes hot dogs, burgers, chicken, frozen custards, and shakes?? Seems a little all over the place if you ask me. I was just expecting maybe burgers, fries, and shakes from Shake Shack, but I guess they like to other a wide variety. Honestly, wouldn't be opposed to trying it again with a different mindset. Salt/sodium contact in what I ordered also managed to give me a major headache, leading me to look it up and the salt content for a shack burger and fries is basically your entire recommended salt/sodium intake for an entire day in one small meal. I came by twice in the past week for a quick lunch and a dessert, and Shake Shack lived up to my expectations. Since it is part of Tyson's, it is ALWAYS crowded - and since they don't have a lot of seating, do not expect to be able to sit inside all the time. For lunch, we came by on a Friday around noon and it was packed! We were able to find a table, thankfully. I ordered a ShackBurger with Cheese Fries and my boyfriend ordered a ShackStack. My burger was pretty good as expected, but my boyfriend said the ShackStack was mindblowingly amazing - I'll have to try it next time! The wait was not very long, only around 7 minutes. That experience was pretty good. I came back again on Saturday afternoon after walking around in the sun for a bit and got the Washington Monu-Mint (custard with some toppings). It sounded really good in the description, and since my friends were doubtful of if it really was worth $5, I asked the cashier how big a regular was. I got a pretty vague answer, and after prodding a little more, she told me the custard would fill a 4 oz cup and the toppings would go on top. I ordered it and after about 5 mins, got my ice cream... and it was pathetically small. The cup wasn't filled all the way, there was a trace of marshmallow cream, and a couple of pieces of chocolate inside. The custard wasn't even that cold. It did taste good but it was disappointing and definitely not worth the value. I will definitely be sticking to the burger next time! read more

I can't rave about Shake Shack enough! I literally crave burgers on a weekly basis, and I refuse to go anywhere other than a Shake Shack. The only problem with this location, is that, unless you know exactly where it is, it's hard to find (it's outside but still a part of the mall). Even with the signs inside the mall and the map we got lost. Otherwise this place is great. Expect to pay a little $$. BUT it's totally worth the price!!
