I brought my girlfriend here for our anniversary last night, and quite honestly I can't believe this place isn't packed constantly. We both throughly enjoyed our meals. I had the head on shrimp and crayfish combo with sausage and Shakin sauce, and my girlfriend had the headless shrimp with king crab legs combo. Both were fantastic. I don't get the review the guy left saying that they misappropriated Cajun culture, this represents more of a Carolina low country boil to me than anything authentically Cajun. I order my sauce on the side because otherwise it seems a bit oily. That's not just here, tho. All the places we've tried are that way. Get it all the way and hot for a bit over medium heat. Hush puppies are good, too. Calamari is okay, but keep in mind I don't care for many fried foods. Their batter and oil are really fresh so I can do a little more fried stuff here. I've given the restaurant ample times to get it right but they just can't. They always over cook the corn, undercook the potagoes, and crab lens taste like they have been sitting out. Shrimp is another story as they don't clean them properly. Most of them will have the black ring around the edge. When try to provide feedback they feel like your trying to get over. My wife had the snow crab with corn and potato. The snow crab was good, the meal came in a bag that is shaken (hence the name) with spice. The corn was good and absorbed the flavor nicely. I have to say there was one small potato in the bag, we expected a few. My boyfriend and I have been here several times since they have opened. We really enjoy it. The atmosphere is great. Service has gotten much better since we first visited (what place doesn't have kinks when they first open?) We usually get the special with shrimp and crab legs. We've also had the lobster, fried oysters and hush puppies and have enjoyed it all. Only downfall is the past two times we've been in its been more of a play ground then a restaurant. Kids literally running all over the restaurant. Despite the fact that its a safety issue it's also distracting and took away from our meal. So, I can't give a review on the steamed seafood because it was way too expensive for me to get. My friend ordered the steamed shrimp and said it was good, but he wouldn't make the trip back to visit the place. I ordered the fried tilapia basket with hush puppies. The fish and hush puppies were good, but I had to dip everything in sauce because the fried fish just wasn't super flavorful. The service was quick and friendly. The bathrooms were clean and I noticed that other patrons that ordered steamed seafood were given bibs and gloves. The chicken wings were very tasty. Shakin Crab is a new fave. It's similar to Hot & Juicy and Chasin Tails. We got a pound of shrimp, onion rings, Cajun fries, lemon pepper wings, fried shrimp basket, corn on the cob, and sweet potato fries. Everything was fried perfectly (not overly fried and felt "cleaner" for fried food). I didn't leave feeling so guilty. Plus everything tasted amazing. The Cajun fries weren't really Cajun flavored, but still good. The wings were very juicy and retained the lemon pepper taste very well. The shrimp was delicious! This place was ghost town, which is a surprise for how good the food tastes. They bring out a complimentary basket of popcorn which was nice. Seafood in spicy, buttery sauce--what's not to love? We've ordered here 3x and each time, the seafood has been cooked just right--the texture has always been spot on. I definitely recommend adding sausages to any seafood order. I've never actually dined in the restaurant because I discovered this place during Covid, but with regard to take out, I have no complaints at all with packaging. My family and I decided to try a different place today. We normally get Hot n Juicy in falls church. This place had a better value compared to them so we thought we'd give it a try. We got the large seafood platter, the weekly special 2 (1lb crawfish, 1/2 pound shrimp, 1/2lb sausage, corn and potatoes), 1 lb of mussel and 1lb of crawfish. So it was a lot of food and total came out to be around 130 which was a very good price. We got the Shakin sauce for all of them. Now for why it received 3 stars. The sauce wasn't flavorful and it was really salty. Way too salty. For the price it was a good deal but Bc of the lack of flavor and saltiness, I don't think I will be returning. The process of ordering online was smooth. We called 30 mins beforehand just to make sure our order will be ready to be picked up when we got there and it was. We paid when we arrived. The staff was nice. They had PPE. Packaging was well done and they offered gloves for you to take home to eat with. read more

Our party of 4 went last night, Saturday, about 4:30. There were only about 5 tables occupied. Our waitress was quick to greet us and offer appetizers and asked what we wanted to drink. One of us asked about a beer but was told another 3-4 weeks for their ABC license to be granted. So why is beer and wine on the menu and website now?? We ordered some hushpuppies to start; which were good but barely above room temp. We placed our dinner order. And waited.... and waited With only about 5 tables occupied we expected a quicker meal. We all had various baskets. The breading was light, like a tempura, but everything was greasy, needing to be better drained before serving. Soft opening, went on the third day, no wait which is nice because these types of seafood places can be crowded. Friday night around 730pm, the restaurant was 1/2 full. There was no host at the front to greet customers and seat them right away, had to wait to get the attention of one of the owners, who then pass me on to a server to seat me down. The server was nice and quick to come up to table. We ordered the combo B which had shrimp and crab legs, with lemon pepper and also another with Cajun sauce. Food came out in 15min. The seafood tastes fresh but the sauce was lacking favor in both sauces. It was forgettable, and i couldn't taste the lemon at all. A combo was about $30 and I had to pack some to take home, it appears a lot of people also was taking home doggy bags. 1 stars off because the server never offer us free popcorn and it also seem bias on what customers gets it. They also took a long time to give you the check. 1 star off as the food was ok but not great with a lack of favor. 3 stars =ok, but not a place I would come often and not really recommend to others due to high price but lack of taste. We used a coupon that came in the mail and received $5.00 off our meal. We both enjoyed our meals. The quality of the seafood was good, and the portion was acceptable for the price. Only thing we would have liked is 1) if an extra corn cob came with the meal (only a half size corn in the bag) I wished they had Coke Zero. But other than that, it was great! When your management (Not the hostess) fails to greet your clients because they are too focused on what they are looking at in their cell phones, that's a problem for you. That's how you lose clientele. We have ordered carry out on numerous occasions and each and everytime there is something missing from our order or it has been done incorrectly. We have had instances from ingredients such as corn, potatoes, or sausage missing to the seasoning being completely wrong. Again, focus less on your cell phones and more on the service you provide. There are people who still believe in good old fashion customer service and your business is far from it.
