My first visit I felt the seasoning was a little bland, but it must've been an off day. The next three times I went were great! I've only dined in once. The online ordering system is convenient. Two things bummed me out. First, they gave me medium seasoning once instead of mild. They didn't seem too phased when I brought it to their attention and just offered a side of mild sauce. Second, I think they use revise how they do the sides for online orders. You get a piece of corn or a potato whenever you order a bag. Even if you order two pounds--still one side. Whereas if you just order the two pounds separately it is the same price and you get two pieces of corn or two potatoes (or one of each). read more

If you want some crab legs with good size meat in them along with flavor. This is the place to go. I got a pound of snow crab legs which came out to two stalks and a potato and the meat was plentiful and the spices were on point. My wife got 1/2 lb of crab legs, 1 lb of shrimp, 1/2 lb of sausage and potatoes for $21. Definitely worth the money as that was a lot of food. The shrimp was cooked just right so it wasn't dried out and the amount of sausages they give you is on point. They should give more than one potato because it goes great with your food. I also tried an IPA with fruity undertones (can't think of the name) but that was delicious. Definitely coming back and recommending to friends and family. read more

Shakin crab satisfied my crab leg craving for sure. I was there when the door opened that day. In addition to the crab legs I got mussels and shrimp. My selection came with sausage, corn and potatoes. While I prefer spicy most times when I have the option, I got medium spice just to make sure the spice wouldnt overpower the seasoning. I got the Shakin seasoning which is a mixture of cajun, lemon pepper and garlic butter. The crab legs and the shrimp were PERFECT, I even enjoyed the corn and I'm not a fan of corn. The sausage was too greasy for me to stomach and the mussels weren't good at all. That's alright with me because mussels aren't a must. Fo me it's the crab legs that would be the make or break. With that said I would still recommend this place if asked. I'll just order a little differently next time. I'll definitely be going back. Not bad Shakin Crab, not bad. read more

This is one of the best places I've been to for steamed and seasoned crab in a bag. I was going to order the King Crab but was talked into the Snow Crab instead. Excellent choice! Exceeded expectations let me put 5 star. I thought this is another usual crab and shrimp cooked with Cajun spices. It sometimes gets old one place and another cooks similar food in similar spices. That is what I thought when my husband brought me here. I am glad I was wrong!!! Yes it is that seafood restaurant to order food by pound and it is the Cajun style spices but the twist of lemon and garlic made the food so refreshing that I want go back for more. I was in the mood for seafood and didn't want to drive to Maryland for a good place to eat. We actually googled search and found this place. For our first time, the seafood was amazing. We were greeted slowly, maybe because it was within the first 30 minutes of opening. But after that, our waitress was attentive and she made sure we got our popcorn appetizer and drinks. We ordered two Special #1s and they were fantastic. The garlic butter mild seasoning was to die for. It was a perfect seasoning and touch to the crab legs, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage. After trying Shakin Crab in VA Beach I was blown away and we were extremely excited when we found a NoVa location. Ordered the exact same meal from VA Beach and the flavor was off, wayyy off. I throughly enjoyed my experience here. I LOVE crablegs and The Shakin Crab did not disappoint. Our waitress Jade was awesome. We even got to write on the walls! My fiance and I will definitely be back. The crabs and seasoning were just right. The snow crab legs were some of the biggest I'd eaten and they were so hot and juicy. If you get the sausage, I'd suggest getting it cooked outside of the bag with the seafood. I found the sauce made it a little too salty. read more

A hip spot for all types of seafood. We discovered this place about a year ago and gave it a try. The service was a little slow the first visit (it was busy though) but our second visit recently was spot on. The server Kellan Kelvin Kevin.... I'm sorry I don't remember his name (maybe nametags would be a helpful addition) was very nice and interacted with anyone he passed by whether young or old. I ordered online and the food was ready for pick up within 15 minutes. Upon trying the food I was extremely pleased with the quality and flavor of the mussels and shrimp I had ordered. It was just what I needed to soothe my craving for good seafood. Prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. My wife and I were looking for a nice seafood place to eat and we found Shakin Crab. We have been to Chasin Tails before and we enjoyed it but the seafood here is way better. The signature sauce is EXCELLENT. The hush puppies. Bruh. It did take a while for the server to attend to us but after she came she made up for it with her knowledge of the menu. The decor and atmosphere was nice. The writing all over the restaurant is also a nice touch. This place was Delicious!!!! The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is our service wasn't great. When we arrived no one was at the hostess stand and we didn't know what to do. We went to bar where several servers were standing and asked was it self seating. They said no and it was still a while before anyone came. Then another before server came, he forgot two things. We both ordered the Special #1 (I got no spice and hubby got mild). I ate until I was too full to move and still had leftovers. The Shakin sauce OMG!! And the price was great. Middle of the road, sometimes the crab is cooked too long sometimes, idk if it's the quality or what or maybe how they cook it but it'll have a weird texture to it. The rest of the items aren't bad but not my first pick for seafood. Nice to have a seafood place to get crab legs so close but with a few more popping up in the area I'll definitely give others a go and see how they farewell. We're from San Diego and love The Boiling Crab and Crab Hut. So when we moved here we've been in search of something like them. I found Shakin Crab on Yelp and saw they had decent reviews. My husband picked up an order we made on the app on his way home from work. It was almost as good as what we're used to. The crab legs were meaty and shrimp were good size. The house boil flavor was good. The only thing I would improve is that we had ordered maybe 4-5 lbs of food and given four wedges of lime. Literally four wedges. When you plan on having take out for dinner the last thing you think of is what condiments you have to have ready at home. But none-the-less we were satisfied and definitely plan to come back, it's that good! read more

I've been visiting this restaurant since it's opened in Manassas and it's my favorite place to go on the weekends. My daughter loves to brand herself on the wood walls with pictures, the service is always amazing, and the food is fantastic! I always get a steamed crab leg combo with a side of white rice (the shaking sauce and white rice is the perfect duo). I will always come here. I will always enjoy the food. I hope they make it they would be nice to have a good seafood place in Manassas Thank you for your response I would like to see some push outs on email for Folks at sign-up about any type of specials that may happen I know if you're a restaurant not like a Captain D's or a long John silvers sometimes you get seafood in that is fresher and you may want to sell out faster. We went here for the first time this week and enjoyed everything. I had the special with crab legs, shrimp, sausage (substituted for more shrimp instead), potato and corn. Took my father here for his birthday and that turned out to be a mistake. The thing they are named after was so over done we literally had to cut the shell to get to any meat. No pliers things needed in this place. And their shakin seasoning was just odd. Maybe we should have stuck to just Cajun it something but the garlic in it was really off-putting. Honestly the only bright spot was the server. She was attentive and really nice...without being all up in our stuff. She was great. Other than that I didn't find a reason to return. read more

We have been getting our crabs here for our family get togethers for a couple of years. I continue to be blown away by the wonderful crabs, the best we have been able to obtain for many, many years. Had date night here on 7/6. We were sat immediately and got our order in fast. We got the Combo A (shrimp with the heads and crab legs. 1lb of each) and an order of fries. That Shakin sauce is super yummy!! We had all the tools we needed to dig in. The server came by just enough to make sure we were ok, which is what I prefer. Food was fantastic. Better than other places i had been to get a seafood boil. I highly recommend it! Some other reviews said the food wasn't flavorful... but it definitely was!
