While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

Tony was a dream to work with--I called the salon knowing I wanted a big change and took them up on their free consultation. I was randomly assigned to Tony, who gave constructive guidance as to what would/wouldn't necessarily work with my face shape, etc. His demeanor was warm and very professional, so I made an appointment for the next day and walked home with a renewed sense of confidence. I'll 100% be going back. (Price-wise, I think Tony could easily charge more in a market like NYC. He was top-notch and the value high for the cost!) read more

Obsessed with my haircut from Edgar! Truly couldn't be happier and I didn't know my hair could look this good. I showed videos/pics at the beginning and the cut exceeded my expectations. There is a lot to look at - which I really liked. I also liked that the music was good and that it wasn't too loud or too quiet. Everyone seemed to be in their own zone but also respectful of everyone else's space. There is no pretense. I felt like Chenoh really understood what I wanted from a haircut and color. He proceeded to thin my hair with his scissors at severe angles and barely touched my bangs. After the dry cut, I was shampooed by the receptionist, who only applied shampoo to the front of my head. Then, he dried my hair without any heat protectant--drying my bangs down and flat against my forehead--and cut my bangs from there. I kept having to nitpick the bangs themselves because they were uneven and blunt. Long story short, my hair is thin, my layers are choppy, my bangs are ragged, and my ends are split--he essentially gave me a wolf cut, unprompted. I have never had such a bad salon experience or sloppy haircut in my life. I walked in there with long, thick, wavy hair and came out with a rats nest--choppy layers that stop at my chin and essentially a mullet--that I don't think I can fix. I should have said "forget it" when they offered me the free haircut. Do not go here if you want a proper haircut or to be treated like a proper client.

I had talked to the lady at the front desk about getting a last-minute appointment that day, and she pulled through. She was also super kind! So I came back a few hours later. I pulled up 10 minutes early, and I was met by Rosa and seated within two minutes of walking through the front door. I told Rosa the whole situation and asked if she would be able to get it close to the original inspo photo. She said she could, but we would have to cut a little bit off the ends, and I agreed that it needed to be done. She was so fast at cutting--it was insane. The final cut was sooooo good. I only did a cut and wash package, so there was no styling but I was able to tell right off the bat that this haircut is good. I didn't walk in with high expectations considering the amount of random layers and short hair I had, but I genuinely couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I'm so happy I went to this salon. Everyone was so nice and made me feel comfortable. This is definitely going to be my go-to salon!

Sadly, my experience at Tribeca Hair Salon was one which will force me NEVER to return. See following Review. I actually gave Rosa my phone #, asking her to call me if she ever switches locations. Here is what happened to me: I was requesting only a quick trim, only on ONE SIDE of my head where my hair is naturally thicker than on the other side of my head. Rosa did exactly what I requested. My request took Rosa about 6 minutes to do: only one side of my head, a quick trim to the top portion of my long hair. I cash-tipped Rosa nicely, then we discussed my charge. Rosa said she barely touched me and we both agreed it should be a minimal charge. I was SHOCKED when I was ring up for $32.00, which I understand is your customary charge for a bang trim. IF I received a "bang trim", I would have paid that most willingly-----BUT $32.00 for a 6-minute one-sided bang trim???? REALLY?????? I've been a customer for about 12-15 years and I promise you, I shall NEVER return. With a $5.00 tip to Rosa, I spent a total of $37.00. For a 6-minute one-sided trim. In my mind, this is reportable to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I shall be doing so. Rosa, as I said in my earlier Review Post, was sensational and deserves to be highly applauded.
