I visited Polina Cafe today around 10:00 AM, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. While the environment is nicely designed and looks great, the pleasant experience ended as soon as I walked in and ordered. The service was slow and overall terrible. The staff was completely unhelpful when I asked for assistance with the wifi, making it a frustrating place to try to get any work done. The wifi was terribly slow and would not even open google. As for the coffee, my Americano was bland and overpriced. To make matters worse, the to-go cup was leaky, which just added to the frustration. I left feeling very unhappy and would not recommend this spot if you are looking for a fun time or a productive place to work. There are better options in the area. read more

Workers at the counter were not very accommodating of my dad trying to order a dish without olives. The bathroom door was janky and annoying and I hate having to bother the staff for a code, and then the keypad doesn't work well. I am always looking to try something different for breakfast. Polina Cafe at the junction of Corbin and Ventura Boulevard, in Tarzana, is one of those places. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, the latter of which has a nice relaxing vibe. There was a chill in the air, so I decided to sit indoors. My purpose here was to try their Polina Breakfast (three eggs, any style, served with: House Salad, Homemade Potatoes, Cottage Cheese, Greek Yogurt Cheese, Freshly Baked Baguette, House Dip & Homemade Jam). My over easy eggs were prepared perfect. The baguette and jam were superb. The house potatoes were a hit. But the service killed my brunch experience. While I liked the variety of elements in the breakfast spread, I had questions as to what was what (and did not wish to guess). When I requested this information, it was provided to me curtly, as if the server was doing me a very big favor and that too, in an unfriendly tone. As it was, it took me time to flag a server down and then, had the same problem when it was time to leave because I needed some carry out containers. For some reason I looked behind me and saw them stacked on a table at the back. This is why I dislike paying for your food at the register (with a tip) before it arrives. The portions are pretty big and can be easily split with two people and lots of seating space. A small issue we had is that the air conditioner blasts at you in certain parts of the restaurant but it's not a huge deal if you could avoid it. For drinks the server made a good recommendation so I had Macha hot latte and my niece enjoyed her chocolate drink as well. The only thing I didn't like was that the eggs on the shakshuka were well done. I prefer it to be runny. The dining area is clean and has good flow and layout. Just had the rudest encounter with a women named Linor who claimed she was the manager . Order the tacos was really unhappy with my order , tacos were extremely plain and dry didn't even take a bite because it looked horrible and when I asked to exchange my food for something else she gives me an attitude and says I should have known what the order came with before I ordered. Everything was made fresh to order and absolutely delicious, especially the hibiscus rose mocktail and mint tea. Both very tasty. Unfortunately when I was there with 2 of my friends the young blonde lady at the register was horrible. She was on her phone and walked away from the register to continue her conversation. She made us wait to take the other until she was done with her conversation. There was a very nice Latino waiter that was so helpful but limited because he wasn't trained to use the register. The girl had a very angry bitter look the entire time. Restaurants are not just about the quality of the food. They're also about the quality of the service and I can honestly say that myself and my friends all thought that this young lady pretty much ruined our experience there.
