The For a party of 17 we all left stuffed and satisfied. The downside is for a party as big as ours they refused to take reservations during the busy dinner hour. So one of us had to arrive early to be placed on the waitlist. The service was excellent once we got a table. They managed to serve us all at the same time. The place itself is nice and modern but with how filled it gets it's pretty hard to hear your own party talking without raising your voice. Even though the staff was busy, they kept checking in for water and they provided us more bread when we asked. We got the mast-o-Khiar, which was delicious with the bread. I got the chicken kabob which the chicken was very dry. The chelo kabob kubideh was very hard to chew the beef, it felt like rubber. The chicken tandoori wasn't spicy enough. Expect a 15 min wait if you come during dinner because this place is amazing. Look no further if you want the BEST kubideh kabobs. They're cooked to a perfect medium and are juicy and flavorful. Really appreciate how moist the kubideh is, especially when you compare it to places with Moby's. I also got the Jujeh kabob, which is a bone in Cornish hen kabob. While flavorful, the amount of meat felt small and it was a hassle getting it off the bone. I would recommend get the chicken kabob here instead. The tahdig here is also different, it's seasoned well and tastes like it's infused with yogurt? I loved it but my family said it was not crunchy to their liking. Overall the menu is expansive, we will have to come back to try all the different rices and appetizers. We had a pleasure to dine in today at shamshiry. It was a iftar time and wait was quite long. Parking is ample in the lot behind the restaurant so it was great. Mr. Ali the nicest host was were kind throughout our 1.5 hrs wait. We were also given delicious dates to open our Iftar while we wait. All of the people at the counter and around were nice and kind. Ambiance was great too. When we finally sat down we were greeted promptly with nicest bread with butter and green chutney. Our server was nice but at times he forgot stuff to bring which we can ignore because he was very busy and kind. We were the party of our people and we ordered kubeidah, spicy chicken and some combo dishes. On the side we asked for half and half rice and salad. Also ordered must of khair (yogurt with cucumber), doogh, and coke bottles. All the rich dishes were extremely flavorful, where their kubeidah stand out always but their green spicy chicken was very moist and delicious too, highly recommended. At 5:30PM on a Friday night, there was already a 30-45 minute wait. Service was attentive and welcoming. They gave us free bread to start which you could see they made fresh. The portion sizes are HUGE! We ordered the platter which came with a pile of fluffy rice. The meat was tender. However I felt the flavor profile was very uni faceted. Imo, Shamshiry has the best Koobideh and I always get the Lamb Sultani because the Koobideh comes with Lamb Kabob, and you can also tell that the lamb is of high quality because it doesn't give the strong gaminess lamb smell of lower quality lamb that bothers many people. Side orders of Mast-o-Khiar and Salad Shirazi are a must to make the order complete! Can't enjoy koobideh anywhere else because of Shamshiry. I am going to give a shoutout to Rumi Kitchen in DC b/c the kabobs and virtually all the other Persian dishes are outstanding and if you like Persian food and you are in DC, you should hit them up for sure. Now, if you are in NOVA/Tysons, I say you should go to Shamshiry. There are many fast casual kabob joints all over Nova and they are usually pretty good, however, I personally feel Shamshiry is a cut above. The place is always crowded and there is always a good contingent of Persian folks in the restaurant...surely a good sign. The portions are huge and not much more expensive then even the kabob places in the local mall food court. As others have mentioned the Kubideh is tasty and seasoned nicely. I also enjoy the chicken kabob as it is quite tender and juicy. I have been a long time customer of Shamshiry, and in general I would rate their services as adequate to good. Today however, was a total exception! To start, there was no host at the entrance to assign clients to a table. There was chaos for several minutes and as it seemed, it had been so for sometime before. Then a host showed up and took me to a table in the back of the restaurant and a waiter showed up and asked me if I knew what I wanted so I ordered the Shamshiry chemo kebab and hot tea. Those who have dined at Shamshiry know that upon being seated, you receive a basket of bread and some butter that you can nibble on until your food arrives. Today, I never received the bread basket until about 10 minutes later when I asked for it. My tea arrived promptly, but the hot tea I had requested was lukewarm at best. After another 10 minutes, the waiter appeared behind me and just shoved the plate in front of me without saying a word and turned around to help other tables. I want to give 1-star for this visit, but I know they can do better and this is not about the food - I know the food is amazing. I had hyped up this place to me out-of-town guest. When we arrived, it was super hot, which I have never experienced before here. We sat at our table while 4 bussers stood by the POS and saw we were constantly looking for the waiter. We made eye contact with the very young male waiter several times. We waited at least 10 minutes before he came to the table, watching him stand idle til he came to our table. I did something I rarely ever do, I told him how long we waited and walked out so he knew why we walked out. I would gladly have shared this feedback privately with the owner but could not find an email on their website. Please at least acknowledge your guest when they sit down and confirm if they need more time to order. If I go back, my lesson learned is to tell the hostess I am ready to order now. read more

The to-go food here was a little disappointing. The portion was big but it was mostly rice and some meat with 1/4 raw onion and half a grilled tomato. There was so much rice but the rice was not good. I was so surprised they didn't include a side or any sauce or any bread on the side. I've been to other kabob places and all of these were included. Depite having abundant staff, the service was very bad. It took over 20 minutes to get our one diet coke after we ordered it. The serving plate we received was dirty as well. It was the first time I've been to Shamshiry in years. The service and interior were both subpar, as the tables were really close together with not much space and they messed up our orders. Food wise, it was very filling, but not as good as other Persian places I've been to. The kabob is still tasty and worth the try, but I've definitely had better kabob places for cheaper.
