All of my orders have been delivery, so I can't comment on the physical restaurant. They have consistently provided great food, well-packaged with plenty of utensils and napkins. The black pepper beef short ribs are my favorite. I also like their house lo mein. It's all so good. I'll keep ordering from here every time I'm in Pensacola. First off, I'm grateful Pensacola has Xian Noodle Place. There clearly aren't that many options here when it comes to authentic Chinese food (I was trying hard to find a place when I landed at the airport). When I walked in, the service was friendly and seating was immediate. There is a bar area and there is a large seating area. Trendy remixes of Chinese pop hits from years past were being played. This all is super cool. As people know from my past reviews, beef noodle soup is a big factor in my judging. And I saw beef noodle soup options on the menu here and asked about them, because I want to make sure I'm getting what I'm wanting here. I'll give credit to the server - she was completely honest that the flavoring of the beef noodle soup wasn't the hearty richly-seasoned version known in Taiwanese circles. So I ordered the roast duck noodle soup and soup dumplings instead. The roast duck noodle soup is absolutely solid. It does the trick. The broth is a basic chicken broth, noodles are fine, and the duck is plentiful, as one would expect. Good garnish, it's tasty and does the trick. The soup dumplings, I would say, are perhaps not what you would get at an establishment that makes their own. Again, it's tasty and does the trick, but likely about the same as if you went to your local Chinese supermarket and bought the soup dumplings from the frozen section and then prepped it at home. Total price after taxes and standard tip? Over $30. One person, one normally-sized bowl of duck soup noodles and five soup dumplings with sauce. I know Miami is extremely pricey for food, so perhaps this is a Florida thing, but $30 is a bit exorbitant for food that does the trick but isn't quite spectacular. Again, I'm sure there are other options here that are tasty, but considering the different factors, when comparing to others in the game beyond Pensacola, the bottom line is I'd say Xian Noodle Place is solid but not spectacular, and also fairly pricey for the level of food served.

It was good to return to familiar surroundings and find a restaurant offering a different dining experience. The interior is attractive, clean, and inviting. The restaurant also offers Korean barbecue, with tabletop grills built into several booths. It is a nice option for families, groups, or anyone interested in a more interactive meal. I went specifically looking for authentic Korean food. Having experienced Bulgogi while serving in Korea, it quickly became one of my favorite dishes. Most chain restaurants do not do the dish particularly well, so I decided to give Kalbi Ichiban's version a try. My waiter, **Carson**, was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the meal. He checked on me regularly without being intrusive and made the overall experience even better. Carson receives five stars from me. The meal came with Bulgogi, rice, and a choice of soup or salad. I selected fried rice and started with the hot and sour soup. I also ordered a side of kimchi because, in my opinion, a Korean meal is not complete without it. The hot and sour soup was excellent. It had great flavor, was well prepared, and was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The fried rice was good, although nothing about it particularly stood out. The Bulgogi was tender and very flavorful, but it was wetter than traditional Bulgogi. Authentic Bulgogi is normally much drier, with the marinade cooked into the meat rather than leaving it with a gravy-like consistency. Even with that difference, the flavor was enjoyable. The kimchi was also very good and added the right touch to the meal. Interestingly, the hot and sour soup was spicier than the kimchi. However, different regions of Korea prepare kimchi in different ways, so the level of heat and flavor can vary considerably. Overall, I was pleased with the meal and would rate the food **8.5 out of 10**. After adding a couple of cocktails, I was also pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the final bill was. I would rate the restaurant **two dollar signs out of five for price**, making it a good value for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. Kalbi Ichiban may not serve Bulgogi exactly as I remember it from Korea, but it delivered a flavorful and satisfying meal. Very good and reasonable portions as well. Ive ordered for delivery and take out and I am never dissapointed. The girl who runs the counter is attractive as well! I would say the crispy orange beef is my favorite, and my girlfriend gets them to make her general Tso's Tofu, and the cheese wontons are triangle shape, not the flower shape so you actually get alot of cheese inside them! I had visited their website an hour before I went, to check their prices. They have Kung Pao Chicken listed for $7.95 on their website. The Shrimp Fried Rice lists for $6.50. Mongolian Beef lists for $7.95. Sweet & Sour Chicken lists for $4.95. These are NOT lunch specials. Egg rolls list for $2.50 per order. Beef Lo Mein lists for $4.95 on their website. But when I got to the actual restaurant, everything was $11 to $12. They deceive their customers, luring you in with false prices, and then gouge you when you get there! That is very unethical and shady. I purchased the following items: 2 orders egg rolls 1 Mongolian Beef 1 Kung Paul Chicken 1 Beef Lo Mein 1 Sweet & Sour Chicken 1 Shrimp Fried Rice I had told the woman at the cash register that I wanted "small" for the Mongolian beef, but she gave me large anyway. Then again I said "small" for the Kung Pao Chicken, but she said it only comes in large. I did order a large Shrimp Friend Rice, but that was the only item I wanted to be large size. She maxed everything out to charge me the maximum price. That insult, on top of the shameful fact that they lied big time about their prices on their website--it couldn't be more obvious that they are greedy and took advantage of me financially as a new customer. I waited for about 20 minutes in the waiting area by the front door for my order to go. I was born in 1967 in Chicago and lived there for 37 years, so I know great food.
