I was quite surprised to be charged $55 for a kid's haircut. I understand the $15 for the hair wash, but the additional charges for drying and trimming bangs seem excessive--especially since they weren't mentioned on the price list. Just wanted to share my feedback. read more

Needlessly RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL & UNHYGIENIC as per many other comments here. Blatantly NONCOMPLIANT with Covid19 human safety protocols - Mgmt often does not wear mask and at same time to make matters worse, NO SOCIAL DISTANCING when I walked in. I went to Shangar Beauty salon in March to get my makeup and hair done for an extravagant Indian wedding. My makeup was absolutely beautiful and my hair looked exactly like the picture I showed them. I went first time here post pandemic. Excellent threading done by Poorvi. Price is unbeatable and is around $6.

The owner.. a old women with glasses hurt me while threading and I have marks on my chin and she burned me while waxing my upper lip used to be a customer here . The owner herself doesn't know how to perform the services and the coworkers are just as bad. When I told them they didn't respond and just rub gel which caused burns and then gave me ice . DO NO GO THERE. They take advantage of unsuspecting customers and charge more , and co workers are stealing each other customers HORRIBLE read more

I was going to a wedding and stopped by this local salon to quickly get my upper lip threaded. 1) when I walked into the establishment, the woman behind the desk was very rude in asking what services I wanted 2) the woman who did the threading seemed very distracted & stopped between my service to attend to another customer 3) she didn't wash her hands before she returned to me 4) she was threading very harshly and quickly so she cut my lip 5) she didn't thread the area fully but I was so afraid of another brutal cut so I didn't ask her to fix it 6) after the service was complete and I let the woman behind the desk know what happened, she still charged me WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. read more

The worst of the lot salons ever. They don't know how to behave with people and worst threading ever leaves your skin with rashes and cuts. I will never recommend this salon for any services while you make the payment they literally throw the card on your face typically ill mannered cashier who cares about nothing but to only do a FaceTime and keep yapping. read more

Would like to share with you all my worst experience with a hair-stylist so far, this happens to be the Shangar Beauty salon at Oak tree road, NJ. To start with, the main hair-stylist (probably she's the main store incharge as well) is utmost disrespectful and rude. She came across very rude, both with me and my 5 year old daughter, handling our hair in a rough manner and even focusing the heat from hair-dryer directly at our face at times. Doesn't give us a chance to suggest any specific way of cut that we would like and instead treats as though we do not know anything about hair styling.. Additionally, she quoted one rate over phone and while paying, ended up charging extra on my card and also justified saying this is what she quoted over phone as well. Tries to loot in all ways possible. Would whole heartedly give a negative rating if possible. I would recommend to avoid this place at any cost. I realized my mistake that I should've verified the reviews before opting this place. Regret especially taking my daughter to such a rude experience. Would be my first and last visit here. I went to Misha for my first salon cut during Covid 19, the salon was clean and everyone abided by Covid-19 regulations. Misha did such an amazing job with my hair cut and styled it to perfection. She made me feel so relaxed and at ease that I returned to her salon to have her style my hair and do my makeup for a family photo shoot. read more

This place has horrible customer service. The girl who did my mani/pedi was on her phone all the time. She did a horrible job with my finger nails. I might have to go to some other place to get it fixed. On top of that, Owner is very rude and she doesn't treat her employees well. She keeps yelling at them. read more

Ripped off. They don't know what they talking about. First the give you a deal and later they changed mind after the service. I went for waxing and she didn't even do it properly she did half hand and when you asked there's left over they said it's light but you took the fill money. And they get mad. The reason I gave one star bcz I didn't have choice. Plz plz plz don't go. She do it very fast and now my skin is all red and half the hairs are still there. They expect you to give big tip. The old Shangar was better...smaller but more customer friendly. Ever since the owner has expanded to the new place (right next door), it seems like she has become extremely arrogant. While the physical place is nice and spacious, the lady's attitude and work ethic is horrible. I got my hair colored and she used a different color instead of what I asked her to use. Also, she colored my hair very quickly and obviously missed many greys ! When I went to her the following week to get my hair blow dried and told her about the wrong color and how bad it was looking, she refused to acknowledge it saying that she used the right color. Then as if I was not upset enough, she blow dried my hair using a curling iron when I told her not to. She also continued to burn the side of my face with it and didnt even apologize and made some excuse about it. I had to ask for ice and she made no effort on her part to correct the situation. Now here is the icing on the cake...I had called before I went in and had asked on ther call, the pricing for a blow dry. I was told $25. But when this lady was done with my blow dry, she charged me $35 saying thats the girls in her salon dont know about pricing!!! I am taking the trouble to write in so much detail as I do not want anyone else to have a horrible experience like me. Needless to say that I am never going back to her . She needs to understand that customer is everything and she should give the customer the benefit of the doubt and most importantly, listen to her customer. Very disrespectful lady in the front. The old lady was the most disrespectful lady ever. The lady that did my eyebrows was very sweet and nice. The lady that did my eyebrows was pregnant and she was very very sweet. But the old hag that was in the front was so rude as soon as I waked in she was like leave go get out we are closed they close at 9pm and I went there at 8:35pm and the pregnant lady was saying why u tell her to leave I will do her eyebrows and she's like these stupid people come in without knowing we about to close yet again it was only 8:35 not even 9:00 yet. I will NOT be coming to this place again. Rude old had lady doesn't deserve to have good customers and on top of that she's like u don't have cash we will charge u extra three dollars for credit card I'm like ok fine. And I gave the pregnant lady a tip as well. This lady should be fired and not working here. Place was nice but will not make u welcomed or comfortable at all. They will never see me there again. And she was talking about me in her Language like I didn't understand. I played it off cause the pregnant lady was being so nice. And saying I'm sorry. Awful experience! Beware of chocolate wax! I have never written a review before nor have I ever requested my money back for a service but this experience was so bad that I have downloaded the yelp app while sitting outside the venue waiting to talk to the owner just so I can post this review. It's not the even the fact that my eyebrow was partially waxed off that is upsetting - it is the attitude of the person who serviced me and the lies I was just told. I told her that I am unsatisfied with the work that was done and that part of my eyebrow is now missing and that they are uneven. She said it's just a hair or two and refused to refund me because it would have to be the owner's decision. Understandable..so where is the owner? She won't be in until 1 and she's doesn't have a cell phone. At this point, I'm really aggravated. You say that my eyebrow is only missing a few hairs (as if that's perfectly acceptable) and you want me to believe that the owner doesn't have a cell phone?? So now I have to sit here for over 30 minutes+ to wait for the owner to get my money back..that's complete BS. Maybe she didn't think I'd actually wait. read more
