Everything was so delicious and fresh. Took one star off because they didn't have fried rice that day. Will definitely go back again.

My coworker was craving dumplings (again lol) so we decided to walk here for dinner and try this place out. She got the handmade pork w napa dumplings and I got the Ribeye fried rice. The fried rice was really good and had a very pleasant smell when i opened the box. The meat really was actually ribeye... so tender!! The fried rice was well seasoned and delish. An order of fried rice is a lot for one person so we ended up sharing it. The pork & napa dumplings were really good (according to her... I didn't have any since I don't eat pork). Overall, quick simple delicious dinner.

Had some pork dumplings and ribeye noodle soup. Dumplings were nicely soupy and a bit on the saltier side, not overly so, but definetely on the savory side. Ribeye noodle soup had great flavor, subtle flavor, and ribeye was sliced thin (like Pho) and paired nicely with the noodles. I'll try more items next time.

This is a hidden gem. Mom and pop restaurant inside the Hilton Plaza. Sorta don't want to write a review and create lines LOL They have one of the best xiao long baos I've tasted. The skin is so thin with tons of soup and flavor. Be careful when eating it cause it'll be hot! It's made to order, like you see them wrap it (not previously frozen or pre-made) so it did take some time for our order to come. I've also tried the spicy oil wonton, the Spicy Pig Stomach, green onion pancake and the pork intestine noodles. The spicy oil wonton is pretty good. Not too spicy and some sweetness and they cook it just right. the Spicy pig stomach was flavorful and tender and green onion pancake was crispy. I deducted 1 star cause of the pork intestine noodles. The soup was flavorful and all that but I was not the fan of the noodles itself. It tasted like the noodles are from those big boxes of long sticks of dried noodles you get at the supermarket. Not fresh at all. It was meh. Wasn't chewy and didn't catch on any of the flavor of the soup. I would stir clear of any noodle dish. Will definitely be back for the xiao long bao and dumplings. The other down side is they have short hours. I think they close at 6pm. Service was just ok, typical of most Chinese restaurants so don't expect much. Did not offer to refill our waters. It was only 1 person manning the place. Parking is free inside the Hilton plaza.

    Spicy Wontons

One of the best dumplings, XLBs, and spicy wonton I've had in a while. Really juicy, really flavorful, and they put A LOT of filling in there. Think DTF but much more hole-in-the-wall and homey. Love it. We also got the spicy pork stomach, cucumber, and beef noodle soup. All really delicious this place deserves more stars.

Seaweed soup, came with the dry noodle dish

It is not easy to find a parking space, si when I do i stop and eat. Needless to say, everything was delicious: 1. Dry noodle with minced pork: Cale with soup. Both the noodle and soup were very good 2. Shanghainese pork chop: Good 3. Xiao-long-bao: Omg, sooooo good. It is better than Din-Tai-Fong and other restaurants'. It is a must try

I went back with my partner and got two other dishes that were amazing. The Spicy Pork XLB (13.95) - Good spice and flavor. Never had XLB like this and like the original, it was JUICY and SOUPY. Also grabbed the Spicy Pork Noodle (with Soup). (12.95) So this is confusing. It's actually with soup.. on the side. it's dry noodle dish and it's phenomenal. Good spring, flavor, texture, everything. Such a solid dumpling spot and now my favorite for XLB. Whoahhh.

Everything said is true. This is the best, large soupy thin skinned xlb. They don't have ginger in their condiments and their vinegar tastes watered down. Their dumplings are perfection. Call ahead because once they sell out they close.

What were the other Yelpers smoking when they gave this joint 2-3 stars? For once, I was so glad that I didn't listen to the advice of my fellow Yelpers and decided to explore Shanghai Dumpling House myself. This place is awesome, and I would give it 4.5 stars (rounding up to 5 stars) The restaurant is in the corner of the San Gabriel Hilton plaza, I walked back and forth a few times before I decide to venture inside. Ordered their Crab XLB, and Shrimp XLB. On my second visit to this restaurant, I revisited the Crab XLB and also the Salty Egg XLB. Really loved how thin and delicate the dumplings are, and each one of them have soup/juice in it. Located inside the San Gabriel Hilton plaza, there are plenty of parking spaces available underground. Service was meh, but the food definitely compensated for it. I haven't tried any of their other dishes because I came here purely for the Xiao Long Bao.

We arrived around 6:15pm without reservations, and unfortunately, every table was taken. The wait ended up being ~15 minutes, which was not too bad. We decided to walk over to Blossom Market Hall down the street for a quick drink to pass the time. To eat, we ordered the Stewed Duck Soup Noodle ($13.99), Shanghai Style Sweet And Sour Spare Rib ($16.99), and the Crab Meat With Dry Noodle ($14.99). Each dish was satisfying. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be the Stewed Duck Soup Noodle. The Crab Meat With Dry Noodle (one of my favorite dishes I tried in Shanghai) was admittedly a bit of a letdown. Overall, our experience here was positive one. Service was friendly, and the food came out surprisingly fast. The space itself is on the smaller side, but the ambiance is nice and intimate. If you're in the area, I'd recommend giving this place a try. I'd like to come back at some point to try more of their menu items.

Shanghai Stewed Pork and Squid with Tea Tree Mushroom: The dish is served in a classy clay vessel. This is Chinese surf and turf at its finest. There are super tender pork morsels with a little fat on the edges. The pork and the squid complement each other so well through the long braising with sweet, savory, and ginger flavors. The tea tree mushroom is straw-shaped and wrinkly with a nice texture. Dining Area: There are about a dozen tables inside. Parking: There's a parking lot, but many of the spots seem to be reserved for other businesses. There are also many street parking spaces.

Tried this place recently and left with mixed feelings overall…read more First off, the ambiance and decor are honestly probably the strongest part of the experience. The interior feels nice and lavish, and the dishes are served on these massive plates that really give off a luxury dining vibe. Servers were also nice for the most part. Food-wise, I ordered the yan du xian, xiao long bao, and a crab dish that came with the thin wraps usually used for duck. The xiao long bao was acceptable, though the flavor was definitely different from what I'm used to at other local spots like Din Tai Fung. Not bad, just different. The crab dish was actually pretty tasty and something I'd definitely order again. The yan du xian, unfortunately, was the weak point for me. I have this dish relatively often, so I had certain expectations going in. The soup had this strange stench to it that I can't really describe beyond just tasting "stinky." It may have been from the pork or bamboo shoots, though the pork itself tasted okay to me. Whatever it was, the flavor just felt off, and I'd probably skip that dish next time. Overall though, I still enjoyed the experience enough to maybe come back and try other dishes like the acorn fish and braised pork, but will need some time first to forget the yan du xian flavor...

I really like this place! For some reason, we have been here a couple times in the last couple months - one for a celebration where we were given one of the private rooms for a set menu banquet, and once just for a casual dinner. Both times were delicious. You can look at the pictures to see some of what we had, although now I'm realizing that they're only appetizers because presumably I was too busy eating after a while to take more pictures (a successful food influencer I am not, nor do I aspire to be). The only disappointing one was the 生煎包, only because 康康 does it SO much better...but 康康 does it so much better than really anyone else (Auntie Qiu's comes close). Their smoked fish dish is magic. Service is fine. I mean, typical of what you'd get at a place like this? There is easy parking in the lot.

Outside of the restaurant, there's an outdoor space where they seem to store extra chairs and tables. I suppose it can be set up for Al fresco dining since I saw a solo customer at a small table. The interior shows a lot of red and a hint of classy decor at some point. There are some private dining rooms down a hallway but I'm not sure if they're being used. The main dining room has mostly tables for 6 or more, and some smaller ones for 4 along the perimeter. I suspect most people come for their very reasonably priced lunch specials because that was the only menu given to us, so we went along. Food: Crispy fish filet with seaweed. Compared to many other places, their fish contains a lot more seaweed in the batter, and served with vinegar, which is very weird. Ideally, it should have a small side of salt & white pepper mix. 3.5/5 Hunan tofu: Full of flavor, hint of heat with shredded pork. Delicious. 4.5/5 Steamed whole fish: This was overcooked and the fish was a bit dry, and could use more flavor. 2/5 Braised pork belly in brown sauce. Fatty, meaty, tender and rich, served with a few quail eggs as opposed to stewed eggs. 5/5 Of you like pork belly Sautéed shrimp in egg white was not what we expected. Thinking it was a dry dish, instead it resembled shrimp in soft tofu with some light broth. Not my favorite. 2.5/5 Beef and scallions: All beef slices were very tender, and the scallions added a nice fragrant flavor to this dish. 4.5/5 The service was energetic, as if the servers appeared excited about something. The vibe was bustling and the noise level just increased over time so we just stopped talking. This recent visit was better than the previous ones, and I'll likely go back for their beef and pork belly dishes.
