    brisket noodle roll

Nothing special, came for lunch with my dad on his suggestion to try out their rice noodle rolls. They tasted fine but it threw me off how they were served on paper plates. The sauce is fine but not the usual sweet sauce I'm used to. The noodles also came out with little broth but when asked to top it up, they did it so i appreciated that. It's small inside, i think they usually do take our orders instead. It's located on the south side of the GW market. I made a mistake on going to the north side and had to walk around~

Our experience was ok I enjoyed eating the Century Egg and pork congee. I thought it was really creamy and a pretty good consistency. It also had a good amount of egg in it. Stir-fried Noodles/Rice Noodles with Soy Sauce was extremely disappointing. There is no vegetables or protein. It was literally just noodles and soy sauce. It was also pretty salty. Pork Rice Noodle Roll and the shrimp Rice Noodle Roll were not bad. They were basic and expected, but since we like this dish, we enjoyed both of them. We probably won't be coming again, but it was something nice to try

I was craving fresh steamed rice roll when I decided to come here! I came on a Sunday around noon and it was pretty crowded due to the space being very small, but we were luckily able to sit down right away. The two of us got 3 rice rolls and a 6 piece chicken wing, which came out to about $43 after tax. We thought this would be enough food but we honestly could have had two more rice rolls or maybe a rice or noodle dish. I haven't tried other places in the SGV that make steamed rice rolls so I can't really compare, but I was really pleased with the texture and taste. The rice noodle itself is fresh and chewy, and I think adding the egg for $2 was a good choice for the pork because of the added texture and taste. My only critique was that the shrimp was kinda small. Salt and pepper wings were really crispy but, despite the name, not peppery.

Afternoon Tea Special: I ordered steam Salted Fish w/ground pork: 4-star. It's served w/ steam rice in a cute container. Ground meat is quite fresh n tender, a better quality in comparing w/most of the Hong Kong style cafe. Steam rice is presented in a cute little container, sprinkled few sesames on the top. Rice is fresh but rather dry . The special comes w/Chinese herbal soup . It's so light tasted like water. My concern is their restroom. Stains in the toilet, rusted on the sink. Soap container is empty. No hand towels...It's dirty nasty Ground pork w/salty fish 咸魚蒸肉餅gets 4-star. But complimentary rice n soup is so average.

The chung fun here is amazing!! Chewy!! The 牛腩湯粉 is delicious too but very thirsty after eating it. It's a small restaurant, not so busy during lunchtime on Wednesday.

Ambiance: it's family operated HK style cafe, located in a busy plaza with a grocery store and other merchants, but in a corner spot, such a hidden gem in the area Service: friendly and patient, served food adequately and refilled water Food & Drink: simple menu items and delicious choices Pork Rice Noodle Roll - ***** traditional cooking method, thin and tasty with sauce sauce, highly recommend Hometown Flavor Beef Brisket - **** chewy meat and soft tender, recommend Steamed Rice with Pork Ribs in Black Bean Sauce - **** flavorful ribs and good quality rice cooked in clay pot, recommend Hong Kong Style Milk Tea - *** light refreshing taste Price: moderate portions and affordable prices, expect $25 for a decent meal

I went to this place as Ocean Island was in repair. I ordered pork and shrimp wraps and fry tofu as these have short wait times. The rice wraps tasted quite soft and delicate but not a lot of meat. Tofu dish is good but very small amount for the price. In general this place gives the impression that it charges for more for giving delicate food so not a good value for me. There is seating in this place.

Food - 3 Service - 3 Ambiance - 3 This is my first visit here. I passed by this plaza very often and went to the adjacent market often. If you like and/or wanted something simple and light. This is one of the goto place. I gave all 3- stars rating across the board because I'm leaving room for my next visit here. The food tastes good, not too salty. Portion wise, ok for just one person not enough to make me feel that I'm not hungry anymore. lol. Just a reminder: what never the menu listed, they have just that, no substitute. Meaning, they served only hot/ice tea; hot/ice milk tea. No coffee. ^*^ Plenty of parking.

My type of breakfast/lunch place to enjoy. Have been eating rice made of congee or noodles since my childhood. They provide a unique type of noodle roll which wrap is not as flat as you normally see which gave a nice way when you biting into this. Really liked the stretchy chewy texture with the rice wraps. The fillings were delicious as well. Fast and warm services. Definitely will come back when I'm in this area.

Coming in 5 minutes after 11am on Saturday morning. Missed the breakfast special (9:00am-11:00am). Ordered separate dishes. So yummy!

, I really wish I could give this place higher star because it's a small business but the food I had today does not justify. 2 stars for the food I ordered beef stew with added radish, the dish came up with some of the beef still cold. I understand nobody make this dish from scratch but at least boil it enough time so it's warmed up properly. The radish inside has 0 flavor too. Very disappointing as it's a very traditional Cantonese dish and most cantonese places make it well. Their Pork Steamed rice roll has a very strong lard smell to it. I know it's a often used ingredient but I think you must portion it right to make it a positive kick to the dish, not just make it greasy. Also the texture of the rice cake is a little odd as it's more chewy and clear than the other places I usually go. That's just me though, some people might like it this way? 4stars for the service Their service is good, the lady was very friendly the whole time so nothing to complaint there. Unfortunately I don't think I would recommend this place to my friends. It was a big disappointing experience for me.

    Sunnie M.

Disappointing. I thought the food itself was very bland. We had some porridge, cheung fun, and popcorn chicken. Prices seem high for the kind of food you're getting. The restroom was very plain, no mirror and also out of toilet seat covers.

It has that "hole in the wall" vibe, but the dining area has nice ambience and it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. We ordered the beef and broccoli (with rice) and the chicken chow fun. I asked for extra vegetables with the kung pao chicken, and they added them without charging extra. Both dishes were really good. On my most recent visit, we dined in and ordered the mixed vegetables, orange chicken, and wonton noodle soup with beef brisket. We've had the wontons before, and they're always good and taste authentic. The beef brisket was tender, the wontons were delicious, and they put plenty of fresh bok choy. It was our first time trying the mixed vegetables and orange chicken. The vegetables were fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The dish also included pieces of Chinese sausage and squid. The orange chicken was sliced very thin, and the batter was extra crispy. We enjoyed it, but it's different from the typical orange chicken you'd find at most Chinese fast food restaurants. The customer service is really good here. At the end of our meal, we were offered a complimentary dessert, which was a sweet soup made with sweet potato and egg. It was good and reminded me of a sweet version of egg drop soup.

They are located next to the Jade Plaza on Garvey Ave in Monterey Park. I parked in the plaza's parking lot, but I'm not 100% sure if they truly are part of the plaza. They may not be. Please read signages. Limited street parking. Upon entry, the lady behind the counter was attending to another customer. When it was my turn, she took my order quickly. She seemed friendly, but not the most smiliest. They are known for their Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup so I got one of them. I saw Preserved Egg with Shredded Pork Congee so I had to get it, too. Lastly, I noticed another customer with an order of Black Sesame Paste... must get an order of that because I love black sesame. I decided to dine-in instead of take-out. This place isn't huge at all. It's a mom and pop whole in the wall very casual establishment with about 4 tables and some chairs. Definitely not a spot for large parties. Now to the food... Shrimp wonton noodles was quite authentic and deliciously good. Broth was light and clean without the msg flavor. Noodles were crisp and had a bouncy texture to it. WOW, wontons were the best! Good amount of quality pork and shrimp filling that was quite flavorfully seasoned. Loved it! Definitely recommend to all wonton egg noodle connoisseurs! Just one itty bitty gripe, portion was small for the price of almost $12. I felt I only got a few good bites from the bowl. I would still get it again though. I'm a sucker for great eats regardless of price LOL. Congee with tasty shredded pork and slightly salted preserved eggs was warm and savory with a soft silky texture and mild comforting flavor. I haven't had such an authentic congee in such a very long time. This is must get every time! It was worth the almost $10. I should have ordered one to-go... for sure next time. For the black sesame paste, this one was a bit of a disappointment. It was cold and not hot. Liquid was very thin. I'm used to thick black sesame. Taste was horrible. It was like eating expired black sesame grains. Did not like it at all. Will not get again. I almost tossed the whole thing away, but ended up adding some pre-packaged flavorful black sesame paste I had at my home pantry to thicken it. Afterwards, it tasted more decent like black sesame should taste. Will I be back? Yes, I'll be back for the wonton noodles and congee plus to try their other authentic Chinese dishes. They sell frozen wontons and dumplings, too. I will have to buy a bag or two of them next time. Thanks Hong Coffee & Bakery!

Restaurant was not busy at the time, our food came out pretty quickly. At the end of the meal, they offered to help pack our leftover food along with sauce, superior service. Food 5/5 -Deep fried salted pig feet, this is a MUST get. I cannot emphasize enough how well executed this dish was, the pig feet came deboned. Skin was thin, crispy but still had a delicate layer of gelatinous fat under that's so addicting and great pairing with the complimentary pot of white rice. The meat was so tender and flavorful, the seasoning is not overwhelming but tasteful enough that keeps you wanting to go back for more. Great portion for sharing, however you may not want to share and just keep it all for yourself. -Salted fish and garlic chicken fried rice, rice was fragrant with the delicate saltiness from the dry aged salted fish. The dish is a combination of fine bits and pieces of fish, chicken and notable amount of ginger. I'm usually not a fan of ginger but I actually liked it for this dish, brought a comfortable level of sharpness to it. But if you really hate ginger, you might want to avoid as they're really fine pieces and would be impossible to avoid. -Sliced beef with Chinese broccoli, beef was tender and full of the wok flame flavor, vegetables were fresh and crunchy, no notes. Ambiance 5/5 -Restaurant was super quiet, I really liked how calm it was in there. Mostly comfortable booths around the perimeter and tables were all separated by clear dividers. My favorite was the bathroom's decor, it felt like an early 90s metal/futuristic ocean theme.

First, my favorite thing about this place is how proactive they are about refilling your iced tea. Love it. Their food is really good. They have some dishes that others in their category (e.g., Kim Tar, Newport, Boston Lobster) don't have, and most everything we've eaten was pretty good. It doesn't take long for the food to come out, though they are stingier than you'd expect when it comes to the amount of white rice given. Of the unique offerings, my kids' favorite is probably the bubble waffles, which they give out complimentary at the end of the meal. The weird thing though is between the two visits, I learned they give the same amount -- one -- whether the dining group has 6 people or 12 people. Stingy. Price-wise, they are definitely at the top end of their category. I don't think it's close to being worth it especially given the quality of their competition, but to each his own I guess. I do like that you can make reservations here, and parking is super easy.

Dim sum is always a win, but there's something really hearty and classic about a good Hong Kong style breakfast. Though Delicious Food Corner is one of many in a chain, this specific location in Montebello is hands down one of the best Hong Kong breakfasts I've ever had. It's a meal I continue to return to, even if I've had the same dish multiple times. Let me tell you about it. Firstly, the advice I'd give you is try to come here before 11:30 AM. Once that time hits the line will start forming and this small restaurant will unfortunately have you wait while you smell all the delicious food this place has to offer. I, for one, hate waiting, especially when I know how delicious the meal will be so I try to arrive before the morning/afternoon rush begins. When you arrive you have to try the Hong Kong breakfast combo. It comes with eggs, hash brown, toast, and your choice of protein. Though the chicken steak is a classic and popular choice, I go for the pork chop. They are two perfectly fried pork chops coming with a crispy panko exterior that is light with almost no oily residue or flavor. The crunch of the panko is a symphonic melody accompanying the savory flavors with each bite. Pair it with a jammy, buttery toast and you have a perfect combo of sweet and savory. Their dim sum selection isn't extensive but comes with all the classics like shumai, har gow, char siu buns, pineapple buns, and rice noodles with beef. All of them come fresh and somehow taste even better when accompanied with their unlimited milk tea or iced lemon tea. Simple cuisine elevated and executed masterfully. Whenever I'm in the SGV area and I want Hong Kong breakfast this is the place I think of every time. Though I've only started coming here in the past three months I'll never say no to eating at Delicious Food Corner when invited. Invite me out!
